My husband is Australian, but has lived in America for the last 11 years. This was our first time finding an Aussie pie place! It definitely got him really excited, and he enjoyed the two pies that we shared. At $10 and $12, the prices are really high, though... Right after this place, we went to another Aussie pie place in LA, and the prices were cheaper and my husband actually said that their filling and pastry were a bit more authentic than Bronzed Aussie. This was still good, but the price is a bit much for us to be a regular. Thank you for offering this nostalgic taste of Australia!

Stopped by to grab a quick snack. Esme was so adorable, sweet and friendly! She even offered us a coupon for our next visit 🥰 We chose the Pepper Steak Pie and the Sausage Roll. I love that the pies come in mini sizes! Both were piping hot and tasty! 😋 (please be patient as the pies are baked to order)

Very hole in the wall place because there's no actual storefront for it, here but definitely one of those hidden gems! Only reason we came here is because we wanted to try Australian food and this definitely had some of the good stuffs. You need to order through this app or order over that counter and then sit at the tables outside or take something to go. But the name of the restaurant isn't very visible because it's through a food platform I believe. Either way, everything here was delicious! Peppered Steak Pie - This was so light and so yummy! The beef on the inside was very flavorful and went really well with that puff pastry. North Carolina this was so light it's like every bite just disappeared in your mouth! And it's not just me saying this. Husband also felt the same! Chicken Thai Curry Pie - I have no idea how that feeling is so creamy and cheesy on the inside of the puff pastry! Really nice filling one here, and it's very satisfying both in flavor and quantity! Lamington - This was served cold so it took me a little bit by surprise because I was expecting a normal room temperature Lamington. Either way, it tasted really delicious. Soft sponge cake with Rich chocolate and then the shredded coconut outside. Makes me want to try to make one of these myself haha! Anzac Biscuit - this was really soft and warm when they served it! It's like it was actually freshly baked and would just melt in your mouth! Overall totally recommend this place!

Lamb pie was the absolute best that we tried! So flavorful and memorable. All the other pies we tried were just ok. I bought the pies frozen to take home, otherwise they said it would be about 25 minutes since they are baked to order. Got the ground beef pie, steak pie, lamb pie, Thai chicken curry pie, and spinach feta roll. The baking instructions were very easy to follow and all the pies turned out well, i.e. puffed and flakey. Overall, I would just come back for the lamb pie, but at $12, it is pricey for how small it is (approximately 4 in pie).

This is a hole in the wall that is more reminiscent of a small catering hole than anything resembling an eatery, cafe or restaurant. They basically cater for about 5-6 different restaurants and even cuisines in the same kitchen. Bronzed Aussie is one of them and it’s not clear or rather unlikely that they make these pies and sausage rolls there. So not a great experience. So let’s talk about the Aussie Pies and Sausage rolls. I have to say, not great. If you rate them as an Aussie pie or sausage roll then very poor, standalone it’s ok for something different. There is way too much puff pastry in these and the filling is more basic and less traditional and sometimes totally not the same. The steak pie was more similar to pork carnitas than to a gravy rich beef mince and the sausage rolls was not the ash laden soft doughy filling. Being price sensitive am happy to spend $7-10 on a great pie frozen but at $10-12+ per piece just won’t again. Overall will not be back but check the website there may be something there for you.

Great food, friendly staff, it is definitely a to go spot as the walk up register is directly on the sidewalk There are a couple of seats out front, but it's at a busy intersection, so not really conducive for sit down I'm giving full 5 stars, no points deducted for atmosphere, it's a walk up and I judged it as such

Best meat pies in all of LA. I might make an argument they’re some of the best in the country. You won’t be disappointed. Pastry is extremely buttery and flaky, very soft. The steak pie, chicken and mushroom pie, and lamb pie are to die for. I recommend the steak pie.

Great hole in the wall! I wanted to give my old man a little taste of home and picked up ground beef and peppered steak pies... they had delicious buttery mouth watering crust and were amply filled...no soggy bottoms here. Thank you for a delicious dinner... of course we topped with ketchup

We ordered using the QR code sitting on the patio tables at Kitchen 1437, selecting the chicken bacon mushroom pie, spinach and feta roll, and fresh fruit parfait from the menu. It took a whopping one-hour wait for our order to be ready on a Monday morning. Luckily we weren't in a hurry. I highly recommend ordering in advance way ahead of time. The taste was okay, but not really worth the ridiculous wait time. Even after that long of a delay, the pie we eventually got was still cold in the middle and the bacon seemed to be missing, but the filling was nice and savory with a flaky pie crust. The spinach and feta roll was cooked all the way and delish! And the worker was apologetic for the wait and gave us an extra spinach and feta roll and beverage on the house.

Bronzed Aussie is part of a takeout only food court with a little limited outside seating. This city doesn't have a ton of meat pies. As a lover of them, I am willing to try nearly anyone offering. These are more of the classic series of pies, a basic menu of what you'd expect. The pastry shines but the insides were a bit ok. A great snack or small lunch.

The meat pies here are pretty good, the traditional ones like ground beef and steak are downright tasty-- but the whole spread (we ordered every single meat pie on the menu) was not quite as interesting, and the mini-pies seemed to be less well-ratoed in crust to filling than was ideal. Aka: they're good but get the regular size ones. Ambiance is, well, nice enough on a warm and sunny day given they operate out of a ghost kitchen, with a small amount of tables and chairs outside. There's a bit of a wait as baking pies takes time, so allocate at least 20 minutes. Verdict: like this food enough, but the wait (since it's a ghost kitchen rather than an actual bakery with a case of meat pies ready to go) makes it a bit more leisurely of a meal than expected. Definitely order in advance.

Bought a couple of frozen pies and sausage rolls. Because I love sausage rolls. Heated it at home. Instructions were easy. The crust was really flaky and tasty but the filling was just OK. Nothing to shout about.

It's a cute small place with some seating outdoors, we took our meal to go. Nice and hot flaky crust, yummy, pies had good flavor I was full with two regular size pies. And nope I did not order the party size I went bigger! And I don't regret it.

Have gotten pies from them before they moved. Took 10 minutes to bag frozen pies. Wish their pies were wrapped for freezing instead of placed in open paper bags. Tried the following: 1. Steak 2. Pepper steak 3. Lamb 4. Chicken Thai curry 5. Chicken bacon mushroom 6. Spinach feta roll: Would be better if there was a bit more pastry. Ratio was little off for me so that the spinach/feta were a bit salty. Overall the pastry was nice and flaky. The fillings were okay. They flavors were big bland or dry from what I remember. Would rather get the feta roll again than the pies.

Delicious, authentic pies that make you feel like you are tasting meat pies from Australia! I absolutely loved these delicious ground beef, individual pies. It's only take out, with plenty of convenient metered parking in front! Nice, quick service with bo wait. Hours may be a bit limited, as this is a shared kitchen situation, so check website for the latest hours.

Talk about delicious! We got the party size pies and despite their deceptively small size, they are some mean little suckers, man. They pack a punch in the flavor department, for SURE. The filling is just right and the pies are so flaky and tasty. We started with the Pepper Steak Pie and they laid down a wombo combo one two punch, we were reeling it was so good. Guys. The Pepper Steak Pie is DANK. Next we had the Lamb Pie and realized it was a mistake not saving the Pepper Steak for last. It was good, but I couldn't stop comparing it, so next time I'm saving the PSP (Pepper Steak Pie) for last. Lamb Pie had good flavor, and had I not just been blown away, would have been my favorite of the bunch. We then had the Vegan Ratatouille Pie, which, again, compared to the others was overshadowed by the greatness before. That said, the taste was solid. Perhaps around a 6 out of 10. HOWEVER. That green sauce they gave with the pies took this pie to a WHOLE. NOTHA. LEVEL. They have to be lacing that sauce with crack cause I couldn't get over how awesome it was. It was a shame I only had one little plastic dip cup. Maybe it's for the best. I probably would have drank 3 or 4 of them straight up. Next we had the Spinach & Feta Roll. I sort of wasn't feeling it, but my partner enjoyed it. It's about a solid 5. Just good. Finally, we had the Chicken Bacon Mushroom Pie that we purposefully saved for last, expecting another knock your socks off experience, but we hyped it up way too much. It was good, but it was no PSP. Pepper Steak Pie reigns supreme. Throughout the meal, we had the mashed potatoes and side salad, both very solid and tasty. We used them as palate cleansers between pies to useful effect. The last thing we had was the Lamington, a soft, chocolatey, cakey, coconut experience that I found pretty good. It's not really my jam, but I can see how people could like it a lot. For me it's about a 5. For reference, my 5's are still good food, with 4's starting to be off putting flavors and 1's being enough for me to start a damn crusade. Luckily for all of us, Bronzed Aussie is solidly in the upper 9's. Wow. What an awesome lunch. Can't wait to try the other varieties of pies and wrap my mouth around another delectable Pepper Steak Pie.

Great to find good Aussie comfort food in LA. Sausage rolls have a huge rosemary and thyme punch. Meat pies are awesome, as well.

The Vegan Impossible Pie is absolutely amazing. Super flaky and flavorful! Definitely get the regular size not the Party size! Also the side salad is so fresh and delicious! You can even get them frozen to heat up and enjoy later!

Liked the lamb pie but seems on the small side. It's definitely not a full 5 inch pie. I took my tape measure and measured it across; it's a little bit over 4 inches in diameter. Saying it's 5 inches isn't accurate. I think what I had was a 3 inch pie flattened.

Overall, I was pleased with the food here. There used to be an Aussie pie in Westwood that was terrific. Sadly it closed for some unknown reason. The pies here are quite very and there seems to be good options with other items including sausage rolls. The star of the show here is the pastry dough it's very light and fluffy... spot on. The feelings were okay on the smaller pies, could use a little more stuffing / meat. Also I would kill to have a side of cheese sauce or some HP sauce option here. The ketchup option is pretty weak and totally too American for me. Docking them a star because the service was not great. They made a mistake on my order and to fix it would require me waiting 25 to 30 minutes to have another pie made. Also, if you come here and want to order a pie you're going to be waiting 20 to 30 minutes to have it made. Another plus is outdoor seating.

I'm giving them 5 stars because I really liked the steak pie that I ordered. I got the side salad add on for $3, which seemed like quite a deal. The salad had greens, tomatoes, cucumbers and carrots. And I'm happy to say the dressing was not the standard balsamic and oil that you get at most places and all tastes exactly the same. This dressing had a lot of flavor. I think their secret is creamy dijon mustard, but am not sure. Do yourself a favor, and get the side salad. It's only $3. I'm planning to order from them again soon. Oh, and they operate out of one of these new-ish ghost kitchens, with multiple "restaurants" serving to-go food from one location. I might try some of the other "restaurants" there too.

Note that this place only has outdoor seating. It's one of those places that serves food from about 6 different brands. I think what confused my cronies and I was that we assumed there was an original Bronzed Aussie somewhere in LA, but there isn't. It's an interesting business model. Unfortunately, my phone can't read QR codes and that's the only way to see the full menu. A 3" pie is $5 whereas a 5" one is $10. I decided to try two different 3" pies: a ground beef and vegan tofu curry pie. Their pies are premade so you can't customize them in any way so beware if anyone in your party has allergies. Even though premade, it takes 15-20 minutes for them to bake it. There is only outdoor seating and it's not a lot. You're on a noisy street and there's no bathrooms. The crust of the pies were good. The filling was pretty good as well. The food itself was small though. These are definitely more snack items than food that actually gets you full.

I was talking with a friend wondering if there was a Aussie pie place around Los Angeles and went on line and found one. Only two miles from the house and went the next day. Tried three and they were all good. The Chicken Thai Curry was my favorite excellent flavors. Had to try the Ground Beef which sounded like a burger in pastry. Wasn't like a burger but was still good. Then I went with the Lamb which was the closest to a regular pot pie. It had potatoes, carrots and peas in an excellent sauce. At first glance they look kind of small but pack a punch. Worth a try if you want something different other than a lunch burger or sub sandwich.

I've frequented Bronzed Aussie ever since they were in DTLA, but now that they've set up shop at the virtual kitchen with a few others at the Robertson location, they're a bit further from me but I don't mind making the drive. The minced meat pies are reaaaally good. I've tried some of their other meat pies but the minced meat ones are legit. I lived in Australia for most of my childhood years, and during elementary school our lunches were different each day, but if you didn't like what was being served, minced meat pies were always available lol and these were just like those. My only gripe is that over the years, the pies have gotten smaller. Maybe that has something to do with struggling during covid times, but I do hope once we come out of this, the pies will be a bit bigger as they once were in the past (unless I just got a fluke and the one I got was unusually small). They do have two different sizes for the pie, but even when I got the larger one, it felt small. Also, get a lamington! I don't know about y'all but good lamingtons are just hard to find..

Flaky meat pies and tasty treats sold out of this tiny shop, got a variety of the mini pies and desserts and they were all fresh and delicious.

Not what I was expecting because I'm guilty of comparing this place to Aussie pie shop GARLO'S that used to be in UCLA/Westwood Village area. Just felt like I wasn't receiving enough value for my dollar. Tasty little meat pies that probably work best for taking to a party or house warming where most people will find them all delectable, cute and s***!! They do have an extensive choice of pies on their menu. They make for awesome snacks but NOT a hearty meal and if I'm having food delivered (which can be pricey these days) it's not to have a snack delivered. Its one of those "restaurants" that share kitchen space with other restaurants under one roof so this is NOT a dine in restaurant, it's delivery or take away!!

Wow wow and WOWWW! Found this gem of a restaurant by coincidence and couldn't be happier! I ordered the steak pie & chicken bacon mushroom pie (I also threw in a lamington) and everything was incredibly delicious! 12/10 would recommend--and yes I added 2 imaginary people for this recommendation! Check it out!!

Delicious meat pies and potato mash! Good value, I'll be going back to try the laminations and other meat pie flavors. Wish there was pea mash as well but I don't suppose that's as popular. A win all around

I had their vegan ratatouille Aussie pie and Anzac cookie. IT WAS DELICIOUS. The crust was warm and flakey and melted on the rather tasty filling of eggplant, and zucchini. The Anzac cookie was chewy, sweet, and tasty. I can't wait to go again. Maybe get 2 mini pies next time!

Bronzed Aussie used to have the BEST pies period, end of story, nothing more to say. When they shut, we were so sad but then relieved to hear they had simply moved to a catering kitchen location on the west side. These pies are NOT the same as before. The lamb pie used to be the most delicious thing you've ever had, with the meat so tender the pies being a fairly large size. Now, they are smaller in size, which is not a big deal... but they've all of a sudden lessened the amount of meat, using fillers like potatoes, peas, carrots and onions heavily and the quality is just plainly disappointing. I swear it was only meat and no fillers at the original location. The lamb is chewy. All around huge disappointment. The old owner must not be in the business anymore because she would simply be disgraced by what the cooks have done to these pies. I hate to write bad reviews, but I feel ripped off having purchased 12 pies to stock up on and realizing I'm buying an entirely new and very disappointing product.

Had a few of their pies a few weeks back. Not bad at all. Good flavors in all of them. Will try again I'm sure and recommend.

I stumbled across Bronzed Aussie while searching for Empanadas. I found both in the same area! First time trying Aussie meat pies and I absolutely love it. The woman working (the owner), is super friendly and helped me pick out the right meat pie. I went with the Chunky Beef. It was slightly more expensive than the ground beef one, but well worth it! It was delicious, but even better with some ketchup on it! I'm glad she suggested for me to try it with the "tomato sauce". They have quite the selection, so I'll be coming back soon to try a few more pies. I'll be honest though, they pie felt quite heavy. I knew it was heavy, but kept on eating. :-) It's hidden in the food court area. I had to go searching to find the different places. Traffic and parking in the area doesn't help either. I had to park at a meter in the area, which is about the same price as parking in one of the private lots. I'll need a driver next time!!!!

Their pies are to die for. Got lamb, chicken mushroom bacon and pepper steak ones. Great service and incredibly nice people. A must try!

this place blew my Aussie off. We ordered three, 3" pies: Steak pie, Thai Chicken Curry, and the Vegan ratatouille. The steak pie was filled with shredded steak and a slight amount of gravy. There was almost no grease whatsoever and I'm happy it didn't ooze out any liquid or feel very heavy in my stomach. Super clean and tasty. Thai chicken curry was a real game-changer for my palet because it was a mixture of the other two I ate. I admired how much chicken they loaded into the pie and the coconut curry is quite yummy. Lastly, the underdog of the group: Vegan ratatouille. this pie is super splendid and I call it an underdog because I enjoy eating meat. However, I loved these vegetables and the variety they managed to put into this delightful little pie. The flakiness reminded me a lot of the sausage rolls I had in the UK and each of the pies was consistent in texture. Each of them has its own amazing flavors and I was super surprised by how amazing the experience turned out. As of now, I have not traveled to Australia but I feel like this place brought me a little closer. Looking forward to my next meal!

The food was very tasty. The food was a nice variety. We called and they gave a detailed description of ingredients location and the sitting arrangements. Though there was outdoor seating for two tables four chairs each, it was enough. This restaurant is designed for quick pickup or delivery. It's very quick to order. They were very accommodating by bringing out our food, our drinks, our utensils, and napkins. I was just teaching our family about different foods from the country of Australia and this place provided an excellent demonstration. It is definitely not overly priced, and the food is good quality. I was surprised most of their food is OK for lactose intolerant. Vegan options are available. I was able to order online and designate a particular time for the food to be ready and it was still hot out of the oven. My son wanted me to add make sure to try their biscuit cookies.

I found these well-sized pockets of meat heaven quite delicious! A group of us arrived right as it opens, so what was available was fresh and piping hot. The crust was warm and flaky, the filling flavorful and satiating. Since we did get there so early, a few things were not yet available. The woman who owns the joint was quite friendly; she was happy to answer our multitude of questions. Definitely limited space and seating.

Tough food critic here giving 10/10 to these pies! I got the ground beef and the Thai chicken (my favorite one of the two..insane flavor!) This is probably the best $20 I've spent on food in LA. The crust had absolutely perfect texture and flavor too. Just FYI you may want to order in advance--if not you'll have to wait 15-20min or so. You order through a window and can wait outside where they have some tables and chairs. Friendly customer service

BEST AUSSIE PIES EVER! The crust was so perfectly flaky (although we were the first customers of the morning so pies were straight out of the oven) The owner is so sweet and made our morning even better since she opened a few minutes early for us as she was getting the last pies out of the oven ---chicken pie: yum! I preferred this over the beef pie ---beef pie: interesting flavor, it's the original and the boy liked it the best ---brekkie pie: didn't try it but it's a vegetarian friendly option! Too bad it's all the way out in DTLA or id be visiting more often NOTE: They also have cookies and tarts but we were too stuffed to indulge

I have been eyeballing this place ever since I came across it on yelp. I have tried Aussie pies at a different place and it was very flavorful and delicious. Finally I found time to ask slave girl to meet me during lunch and check out this restaurant! The restaurant was hiding inside a little alley. If it wasn't for the sign posted on the main road, I would probably never find it. The menu was a simple one page that contained savory pies and sweet pies. We got the ground beef, roast lamb, sausage roll, and fries. I tried the sausage roll first and woah, it was really really good. Semi flaky on the outside and tender juicy inside, I couldn't wait to try the pies. Sadly, the pies didn't live up the expectations at all. The ground beef and roast lamb were somewhat bland even though the pie crust were decent. We had to use the hot sauce to make the pies more enjoyable. The fries took the longest since it was fried to order. I was hoping the fries were cut fresh but it was from a frozen package. Well, fries were fries, nothing more to mention. I talked to the owner a bit. She told me they were doing good and just opened the second location. I would strongly suggest to come here to get the sausage rolls only because it was that good. As far for the pies, if you have never tried them, why not.

I've been trying some of the takeout food places in my West L.A / Cheviot Hills neighborhood. I went on Yelp and typed in Chicken Pot Pie. The Bronzed Aussie came up along with Stalking Horse Brewery, The Irish Times and a few others as well. I ordered 3, 5-inch pies; Pepper Steak, Rosemary Roasted Lamb and a Chicken-Bacon-Mushroom pie. I also ordered two Spinach & Feta Rolls and two Sausage Rolls. These are not your normal American pot pies but a flatter version with an incredible flaky crust. The household consensus was that the absolute winner was the chicken-bacon-mushroom. Although I throughly enjoyed the other pies as well. The meat pie was just a touch too salty for me. I also liked the spinach and feta roll (could have used a bit more feta) and the sausage roll was good as well. I would come back again. I sent someone to pick the food up and she said it was quite easy. Call from outside and they will come out to your vehicle. This place is a bit of a walk from the standard business district. It's hidden in an alley, a charming one, and has a lovely courtyard eating area in the back. The shop is small and is a working bakery, which is great. The owner/employees are friendly and it looks like it gets a good amount of business. We had a chicken bacon mushroom pie and a sausage roll. The absolute best was the sausage roll. The sausage filling is delicious and the flaky crust is excellent and slightly spiced I think. Not to discredit the chicken pie at all, which was also very good, and I would love to try some additional varieties. This place blows the stockings off the other aussie pie place I've been to in LA, over in Westwood.

I am so, SO glad that this place will still be around as a delivery place -- that it isn't vanishing altogether, though the brick and mortar won't be around anymore from the sounds of it. The beef pie is DELICIOUS and more than reasonably priced, with perfectly spiced meat and browned crust. Def recommend!

Do yourself a favor and order some ground beef pies! So good! We called ahead about 45 minutes for pick up/ takeout so we could have some freshly cooked and some to freeze for later. They are the best Australian meat pies I've ever eaten. The crust is flaky and delicious, the filling is savory ...crave worthy!!

Yummy but pricy. We've driven by Bronzed Aussie before and decided to try it for Sunday breakfast/brunch this past weekend. Located in the Santee Lofts building, but a little out of the way in a small alley. Very cute area! There are a few other eateries and shops in the alleyway and if you walk further down, you can check out the courtyard for the Lofts. We got the chicken bacon mushroom pie, which was very creamy and flavorful! Kinda like chicken pot pie, but with different ingredients. The crust was flaky and buttery. Also tried the veggie brekkie pie, which was kinda like a quiche - eggs, spinach, mushroom, onions and potato. Each pie was $7+ so definitely on the pricier side! The owner is super nice and friendly and has a lovely Australian accent! They also serve coffee and desserts and there's also tables outdoors if you want to eat outside. Condiments and water are self serve. I think my main reason for not returning would be the prices :(

Have you ever met an Australian you didn't like? I haven't: fun, personable, cool in a possibly-descended-from-a-criminal kind a way (who doesn't like that bad boy vibe?), the people you definitely would want to party with. But Australian food? Who knew there even was such a thing? Not me. I'd vaguely thought that, like its chefs, Australian food must be descended from that blandest and most-maligned cuisine in the world: the English, a cuisine whose main saving grace is perhaps fish and chips (or maybe bangers and mash, mostly for the name. Oh, wait: Welsh rarebit. That stuff is the bomb.) And it's true: the Australian meat pie as served at Bronzed Aussie is a quintessentially English dish in construction. But there the resemblance ends. THESE meat pies are bursting with flavor, little masterpieces of perfectly flaky pie crust filled with deliciously seasoned filling which does not compromise the integrity of the crust. Intended to be eaten by hand, that just didn't seem possible for me, especially when doused with ketchup as the locals do it. I was tempted to lick my knife and fork, folks. It's only been a few hours since I had my first one and I'm already craving another! And the coffee!!! I had a flat white which was a revelation. I expressed shock at how good it was, having had several of the Starbucks flat whites which were blah.The extremely friendly, personable and helpful young man who served me (Australian accent, natch) told me that there is a reason that Starbucks never really caught on down under. There is a very strong coffee culture there, with excellent coffee everywhere, so that niche was filled. Maybe that's why Australians are always so happy. Prices are reasonable. One pie filled me up. Street parking (meters.) This would be the perfect place to stop in for lunch or coffee if you're in the Fashion District. Good onya, mate!

Pretty good tasting meat in these pies. Had them delivered but I'm sure they would've tasted allot better right out of the oven.

Throw another shrimp on the barbie! I'm not going to lie, I was hesitant to go to this place because of the location on the east side in an alley and because of all the bad meat pies I've had (at Pie Hole). I had my first meat pie in Caines Australia a few years ago and never thought it was that great, until now. Bronze to Gold Right off the bat, the restaurant is super low key, some would call it a "hole in the wall", almost hard to find tucked back in an alley. Samatha, the owner, is a true aussie greeting each employee. Doesn't Matter What You Order It's all good! Simplicity wins. The pastry of the meat pie is absolutely flawless. If it were a blanket, I'd buy it to sleep with every night. I seriously cannot put my finger on it but the second you bite into the pie there is some sort of flavor from heaven that you've never tasted before. Lets just call it the unicorn flavor, and I've found it. Celebrities Eat There Apparently I over heard them say that celebrities like Drake (Canadian) and Iggy Azalea (New Zealand) get their meat pies here. So get your "fancy" on and go get one.

This place has been on my list for a while. But street parking here is difficult and pricy, so garage parking is recommended. You may pay $5-7. I initially had difficulty finding this place and walked passed by. So I resorted to pulling up Google Maps to pinpoint where it was. Once you walk down the alley, the signage is more apparent. The man working here was friendly and helpful. Apparently, the ground beef, lamb, and Thai curry pies are the favorites. I got the ground beef pie and lamb pie, with an order of the Flat White. The Flat White was satisfying. The ground beef pie was savory and flavorful. Nothing screams comfort food like hot, flavorful meat stuffed in a buttery, flaky pie. The lamb pie had a taste of rosemary and was just as delicious. The traditional way to eat the pies are with your hand and ketchup. Do it! While I am not a fan of the location, I am definitely a fan of Bronzed Aussie. If this restaurant has been bookmarked for years now, I urge you to go and stop the wait! If you are figuring out whether you should check this place out or not, BOOKMARK IT NOW.

MEAT PIE GOODNESS! YES YES YAAAAAAAAAAAASSSS!! Yes, meat pies. They're good. You should go get one. Here's the scoop: park at the lot one block away ($6 flat rate on weekends, holler!). Find the location (so it's just down an alley on Los Angeles St.--that sounds weird, but you'll see what I mean. Just keep walking past the Pizza Hut and you'll see the sign. We circled to find it.). The restaurant itself has a cute, cozy interior--counter seating and a few tables outside. Very clean. Super friendly employees who will actually have a conversation with you past recommendations and payment. I dig. I opted for a ground beef pie and a custard tart. The pie was fantastic--great flaky crust outside, delicious seasoned beef inside. Served so hot that I burned the roof of my mouth at least three different times. Worth it. Custard tart was not sweet and that's exactly how I like it. The consistency was perfect. The price was very good as well. They have vegan options! Rejoice, plant-eaters! I actually was really tempted to get some pies to go, but I was so ridiculously full I couldn't justify getting more. Sadness. The alley tucks the place away from the surrounding downtown area, which I would nicely describe as "sketchy" during the day and "uncomfortable" at night. So basically, Bronzed Aussie is perfect for lunch and catering orders, which is in tune with their hours of operation. Word. Gonna come back to try more pies!

Came by Bronzed Aussie on Saturday late afternoon around 5:45 pm with my husband. We parked off of Los Angeles (metered parking) and walked down an alley way (this place is hard to find). This place has limited seating (There is also limited seating outside as well in case you want to dine with your four legged friend). When we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the woman behind the counter. Being that this was our first time here, we took a while to decide what we wanted. The woman told us that the lamb and ground beef are the best pies. I wish the menu had photos instead of just being written on a thin piece of paper because I wanted to know what was a Lamington. I assumed it was a dessert since it was written in the same section as the apple and blueberry pie. I asked the woman and she said it is a cake with chocolate and coconut on it. Well after she answered my question, we decided to order: Lamb Pie, $8.90 including tax- This pie was really good. The flavor of the lamb was well seasoned and really satisfied our taste buds. The lamb was tender and an easy chew. The flakiness of the crust was rather nice. The only downside of this pie was the size. I wished it was a little bigger, especially for the price. Vegan Tofu Curry, $7.90 including tax- I decided to order this even though I am not vegan, nor vegetarian (but am a fan of tofu and curry). This pie was really good as the curry flavors were pronounced. But glad that it was not spicy at all (as I am not a fan of spicy food). Usually a place that is not know for vegetarian or vegan offerings usually do not do a good job, but this was delicious. I would definitely order this again. Apple Pie, $3.50 including tax- This apple pie was quite small, probably a little less than half the size of the lamb and vegan tofu curry pies we had but was good. The apple filling was sweet and tender. Lamington, $3.50 including tax- This Aussie dessert is a sponge cake that is frosted in chocolate and shredded coconut. I have never heard of this dessert before so decided to get it. I liked this cake but didn't find it to be memorable. Also wished the size was larger as well. ------------------------------ (Total= $22.80 including tax) After we ordered, the woman who took our order was able to pull out our pies quickly out of the oven warmer. The apple pie and lamington was pulled out of the chilled display case (wished the apple pie was served warm). It was nice that we did not have to wait long for our food and glad that the food was not dry even though it may have been sitting in the warmer all day (?). There is free WiFi here (yummypies) that was pretty fast. Not sure if there is a public restroom. This place is a no frills place where you get your own napkins, utensils and water. You can purchase frozen pies as well to take home and try at another time (5 pies for $32.70, prior to tax). Some closing thoughts: This place is good but a bit pricey. I have had some really good meat pies (in Orange County) that were pretty filling and much cheaper than this place. But if I was in the area, I would consider coming in to pick up some frozen pies to bring home.

From the sheer volume of good reviews, I knew my fellow Yelpers were onto something! I ordered the following: *Veggie Brekkie: This was more like a huge quiche with potato, tomato, spinach, onion & mushroom. Hearty and delicious with lots of stuffin' *Thai Chicken (Chicken breast in a spicy, fresh green curry, green pepper, cilantro, lime & coconut milk): I loved this! The green curry was on point. For those afraid of spice, not really spicy at all but plenty of flavor. Both feature crusts that are delightfully buttery and flakey. Marie Callendar's can't even touch this. These bad boys set me back ~$15 ($7.90 each) but they're hefty and can definitely be shared or saved for an addt'l meal! My only complaint is that they have limited hours. By the time I can make it there, they're closed!

I've been meaning to check this place since moving to DTLA. With it popping up on Yelp's 100 best list, I figured I should go before people catch on and lines get too crazy. I can see why they're on the list, this place has legit good meat pies. If you're a no frills meat and potatoes kind of person, then you MUST try this place out. I went with the beef pie and topped it with a sample of their mash potatoes, as recommended by the nice lady who rang me up. The crust is good and flakey, and it was still warm by the time I walked back the half mile to my office. If you're not into meat and you just want some sweets, get their tiny apple pie. For $3.50, you can't go wrong. The crust is as good as their meat pies, and it's topped with a nice crust of sugar. I will def come back for that alone.

Who knew a meat pie could taste so GOOD! I could go on and on, but really this is delicious. They are made fresh and given to you nice and hot. Everything about the crust was flaky/buttery/salty. Yum.. Inside was nice and moist. I could have used more meat though.. but the flavor was really good. The espresso that they make is not bitter at all. It really has a fine rich texture and goes down real smooth. I am just amazed at the combination of food and coffee this place offers. Seating is limited to counter space but that is okay when it is raining outside and all that will comfort you is a meat pie and coffee.
