I am resiliently grateful to Brooklyn Athletic Club, the team here, to the founder/master trainer (Larry). I spent 5 months this year getting healthy from a slew of old sports injuries, and quitting a daily reliance on smoking weed for chronic back pain from a motorcycle crash. The energy of the team, the amenities, the culture of ambition, respect, comfort, safety, community which this club curates (maintains) is unlike any other gym I have enjoyed in my life ~ anywhere. I have been a member at many great NYC fitness clubs, even a trainer or teacher at a few. The Printing House (in its hey day), Clay, NYSC, NYSRC, Gold's Gym, Dolphin, Equinox, and private training gyms to name a few. What Larry has done ~ IS DOING ~ here is special. I can't even describe it, or why, and that's what the word special must be reserved to express: an ineffable x-factor whereby we find we cannot forget, escape, nor deny the magnetism, the uniqueness of what we're attempting to describe. The team here has supported me with state of the art awareness, compassion, technology, as well as simply savvy people skills like no other community of fitness that I know outside of a world class martial arts dojo. I am curious (but wish to never really find out!) how Larry does it... Culture is created from the top down in an intimate space such as this. I have no doubt it is Larry's own extremely unique, rare magnetism, aesthetic, professionalism and savvy that lead the experience wherein I have been thriving for nearly half a year.
Thank you, BAC. I am a grateful BAC Client. I recommend it to anyone seeking that x-factor, to level up, to listen, to learn, to become all that you dream of becoming. It's never too late to find a great leader and that, my friends, is most of how you become one. By finding one, then following them until they work their magic upon and within you.
Brooklyn is very lucky. As am I.
