This is it. This is the quintessential bagel. This is the standard by which all bagels should be held. This is baking with love. I make bagels, I even sold them at a farmers market. I know the process in and out, my recipe memorized. Knead, rise, roll, proof, boil, bake. You can tell when a bagel misses one of these key components, sad crust? They didn’t boil, cost too much. No real flavor? not proofed enough. No corners were cut here, it’s just mwah.

Been coming here for years. Great bagels and atmosphere but increasingly having this issue below. If I’m paying for bacon on my BEC one would expect a little more. Happened the last few times. Would considering going elsewhere if this continues.

Tried a bacon egg/cheese & sausage egg/cheese bagel. One on everything and other on garlic! These bagels are the best in the area hands-down. A true NYC bagel in VA. A must try if you haven't already. Friendly staff and quick service.

Fresh, doughy bagels and great service. There was a line out the door and they got us in and out in less than 10 minutes. It’s become a new favorite spot.

Solid spot. Best bagels in the area, by far. Im from Brooklyn so Im quite picky on my bagels, but this spots got it. Only complaint is they can be little stingy on the bacon... Also they close too early lol. Sometimes I want bagel for dinner ya know...

Plain cream cheese on French Toast Bagel was beyond great. Will come back for more. They only accept cash or debit for purchases under 10 dollars.

The bagels, in general, were average. While the tops were firm, the bottoms were a bit too squishy for my liking. The Asiago bagel specifically was not great, there was barely a cheese flavor, but the plain bagel was fine. Side note, The amount of butter they put on a butter bagel should be criminal considering the cost.

We stopped on our way out of DC on a Sunday morning. I suspect the area would be much more crowded on a weekday but we found a parking spot on the street nearby and zipped in. The team was friendly and helpful and took our order quickly. We each got a poppy bagel, toasted, with the walnut raisin cream cheese and I got a cup of their coffee. All were excellent and prepared quickly and correctly. We grabbed the bag and the coffee and head on our way home after a short visit in DC! We'd definitely return.

i've been looking for a good bagel place in Arlington and I'm soo glad I found this place! I went on a Sunday morning which was clearly a common idea for most because it was CROWDED. The line went by super fast though and there were a lot of different options. I got the jalapeño cheddar bagel and it was honestly a little spicier than I would've expected which was a great surprise. Just wanted to note that there's a $10 minimum for card. There wasn't too much seating indoors and while there was a bit more outside this is a take out kinda shop. The bagels weren't too expensive and i will DEFINITELY be going again.

I placed an online pickup order at 7:30am this morning because I intended on "quickly picking up" my order on my way to work. I get to the shop and there's a line almost to the door. There is a sign for pickup orders but I notice several orders behind the counter in bags. I didn't want to be "that person" and cut the line, so I waited in line for almost 10 minutes to ask for my order which was behind the counter with several others. Please please! If you have a pickup order area, please place pickup orders there. Waiting in line to pickup your order defeats the purpose. This made me late to work. Not to mention, they got my order wrong.

Solid local bagel spot with quick service and fresh bread. For me on the level of a call your mother without the crowds.

A hidden gem near the court house. A small space but with delicious bagels, sandwiches and pastries. Super kind and fast service. Fair price.

A NY-style bagel shop with a variety of fresh bagels and cream cheeses, and it's by the court house stop. I came on a Wednesday late morning and it wasn't busy. I got an everything bagel with garlic and herb cream cheese and it costed almost $5. It's a pretty decent bagel (needs more toppings for a true everything bagel) , and the cream cheese was good (however, I would have liked a stronger garlic and herb flavor). Service was good and fast. It can't compare to actual NY bagels, but it's a solid bagel choice in the area. They unfortunately don't schmear either. Card is for $10+ only, so bring cash. Rating it a 3.5/5, rounding up to a 4/5.

Fast, delicious and fresh. Small seating area but really quaint. Prices are good, wish they took credit cards without a $10 minimum, sort of a 2024 thing. Love that the order taker has an incredible memory. Doesn't write anything down but always right.

It's good enough to make me keep coming back for sure. I've had both bagels and cream cheese and meat egg and cheese on a bagel (which I tend to lean towards generally with bagels). The bagels are big but they are noticeable chewy. Flavor is good though. So I do urge you to come try this place as their are not many key places to go for bagels in the Arlington area! Service is always great you get your items very quickly even with a long line and it gives you that classic bagel/deli feel.

It's been quite a few years since I've come here so it was time to give it another go. They accept credit cards now and the bagels are a lot less dry and more flavorful! The egg game has stepped up and the bacon is nice and crispy. They overloaded it with cream cheese which was nice but not great when we only wanted light cream cheese. Happy to see the bagel quality got better though I would still love to see the jalapeño cheddar be a bit spicier.

I came here for brunch on a Saturday and this place was packed! I got a sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and I thought it was pretty decent. I wish the bagel had a little more flavor and a chewier texture. My friend recommended not to toast it because they make their bagels fresh but we swung by the farmer's market anyway so the bagel cooled down by the time we ate it. I also got a coffee and unfortunately they ran out of the flavored coffee which was disappointing. Also, if they are cash only for orders less than $10 so make sure you have some handy if you're only ordering one bagel!

Fresh, fast and tasty bagel sandwich. The only concern is even if ordering online you have to order $10 before you can place an order.

The bagel was underwhelming, but the frap was great. My GF also got a vanilla latte that she really enjoyed as well Cash only for under $10

Great location with chewy, affordable bagels. If you like bready bagels, you may not like their bagels. I like chewy and fresh, so I've always enjoyed these ones. Even when it is busy, the line moves quickly and efficiently. I've been several times over the years but most recently I ordered an everything bagel with lox spread and a half dozen bagels to bring home. The bagels are pretty reasonably priced for the area and they keep well. If you do order bagels to go, you need to order them at the same time as your prepared bagel order. It's hard to see when you walk in but there's a good amount of tables toward the back where you can see them making fresh bagels. Definitely stop in if you're in the area!

I came here for the first time at around 7:15 in the morning to pick up an order I placed the night before. I ordered a turkey bacon, egg, and cheese on a sesame bagel and a cup of fruit (only to make the 10 dollar minimum). The bagel was fine, nothing spectacular but good for the DMV. My issue was with the fruit cup. I was about a quarter through the cup when I saw that a grape had mold on it. That's unacceptable and I was lucky I was looking at what I was eating because otherwise I would've missed it completely. I will not be returning.

The garlic everything bagels were amazing! Lots of bagel sandwich options. It was bustling and had over 50-60 people come by on a Saturday morning to pick up their bagels. Very efficient service.

There's no hiding that the best bagels are from New York City. However, a few spots in the area make decent ones- Bagels, Etc. in Dupont Circle and Pearl's Bagels in Mount Vernon Square. Brooklyn Bagel Bakery is NOT one of them. My five-year-old daughter and I stopped in for a breakfast after a dentist appointment nearby. I ordered the sesame bagel with an egg, cheese, and ham. It was lacking flavor and the bagel wasn't very warm. My daughter, who loves bagels, didn't enjoy her egg bagel with plain cream cheese. My hazelnut latte was the worst latte I've ever had. It tasted stale and the syrup they used tasted like splenda. I regretted ordering it.

Fast-paced bagel shop with the closest thing you'll get to a New York bagel in Northern Virginia. I recommend a bacon, egg and cheese.

I visited Brooklyn Bagel Bakery on a Sunday morning and there was a line that was nearly out the door. Make sure to keep this in mind when visiting! Nonetheless, we had attentive service. On a positive note, a busy restaurant should signal that the food is solid. I definitely thought it was! There is parking behind the restaurant that my boyfriend and I took advantage of. There is limited seating inside but there are some more tables outside. I ordered a nova lox bagel sandwich with everything on it, a pickle pickled in house, and a cappuccino. My boyfriend ordered a bagel sandwich and a chai latte. Our total came out to $33. Not too bad. Overall, I thought this was a great spot & I would come back again.

This was my second time in and it was just as good as the first! This time, I got a lox, onion and egg Asiago bagel sandwich and it was delicious. The service was quick, and the bagel was fresh and chewy - just how I like it. There's a surprising amount of indoor seating in addition to the handful of tables out front. Would highly recommend If you're looking for a bagel or lunch!

3.5/5, not a bad spot for fresh bagels! The bagels are fresh, chewy, and soft without being too dense or underdone. The NY lox bagel sandwich had a solid ratio of lox, cream cheese, and other fillings without becoming too much bagel or cream cheese. Stopped in on a Sunday around 1 PM and there wasn't much of a line, but still some people seated inside and outside. I ordered NY lox on a whole wheat everything bagel and got it on a plain whole wheat bagel, even after clarifying the bagel type when ordering. Overall, the ordering process was a little confusing but seemed like it'd be efficient for larger crowds. The inside is packed with plenty of indoor seating, and there are a few tables outside as well. There's a $10 minimum to use card, but my $9.50 NY lox bagel came out to be $10.45 with tax so I didn't have to worry about that. Could see myself coming back for a bagel craving and trying some of their other bagels.

Gone downhill tremendously. Last few times we have been it's been terrible quality, and this time my bagel was inedible. My bagel was as hard as a rock and they barely put any cream cheese on it. It had one quarter that was consumable (picture bellowed). But not only that, the cream cheese pictured was the only cream cheese I could get on it (and that's taking from the other three pieces). So essentially no cream cheese either. The bacon egg and cheese also left a lot to be desired. Bagel was flimsy and falling apart and it was one of the thinnest bacon eggs and cheeses I've seen. It's a bummer because this used to be our favorite bagel spot. Was even hesitant to go back today given the last few times weren't great. This confirmed we will no longer be coming back. I'd definitely recommend going else where

Over the weekend we stopped by for some Saturday morning bagel sandwiches. We were able to snag a spot in the sun at one of the little tables outside. I was impressed that there was so many tables squeezed into such a small patio! I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The bacon was super crispy and the bagel had a great chew to it. I was also impressed with how big the bagel was! Totally hit the spot for a quick morning breakfast. I will be back.

From the kettle boiled bagels, the guys calling me boss, and it being within walking distance... this place really brings me back to living in new york. I love the crispy outside and chewy inside of these bagels. My go to is the scallion cream cheese on a lightly toasted everything bagel. Yes there is a 10$ card minimum, so bring a friend!

Currently visiting DC for the first time and I was craving a bagel! This place did not disappoint! Lots of desserts, pastries, drinks, and of course a variety of bagels. My husband ordered the everything bagel with egg whites, spinach, and cheddar cheese. I ordered the Ny lox everything bagel and we shared halves. Both bagels were so delicious, soft, warm, and flavorful. And satisfied our breakfast craving. Best of all, this shop has FRESHLY squeezed orange juice and it was fantastic. It was very busy inside and there were quite a few employees, and each would help one customer. Despite the businesses we were in and out within 5 minutes! From food to service, everything was above amazing, and I plan to come back again before my trip ends.

Really solid bagels and bagel sandwiches. The line is usually long on the weekend, but moves fast. Bring cash if you're just getting one bagel because it's a $10 (or $15, I forgot) minimum for cards.

Sampled a few items here today, solid bagels (especially for not being in NY), good corned beef and good tuna wrap all at a fair price.

I always love grabbing bagels from Brooklyn Bagels in Courthouse! The prices here are great, be aware that if you are spending less than $10 you must pay in cash. This particular time I went our bagels we're a little undercooked, but that hasn't happened before and they were busy, accidents happen. Additionally, the shop is a little small, so I'd recommend grabbing these bagels to go on your next morning breakfast run.

Perfect spot to grab a delicious bagel sandwich in Courthouse! It's right across from the metro station. Often crowded on weekends but staff keep the line moving. They used to only accept cash but now accept credit cards for orders over $10.

These bagels aren't NY-style so I'm confused. They are big, thick, and chewy. NY bagels are smaller and have an interior chew and nice outer crust. My toasted sesame bagel with butter and lox lacked sesame seeds and was just OK. I bought some as is to take home but didn't eat them. There are better bagel options. I like their hours though.

The bagel and lox is one of the best bagels in Arlington. Period. I'm from NJ so I know a good bagel

The Bay Ridge with tuna on a Jalepeno cheddar bagel is SO GOOD! It is served open face and is big enough to share! The Java chip frap is like a delicious coffee milkshake, and all of the baked goods are huge and look so good! There is seating outside and some in the back. Be prepared to order because the line moves quickly and can feel pretty hectic.

Most important thing to note here is you need cash if you're just grabbing one bagel or something small. You can't use card unless you spend at least $10. The bagel itself is chewy and warm, tastes decent, and satisfies a bagel craving. Nothing special, though, and pretty standard for the area.

The best bagels in the DC area! We love Brooklyn Bagel. We've been going for years and they never disappoint with their bagel egg meat and cheese breakfast sandwiches. We love their everything bagels! Service is always fast, I'll admit I was intimidated the first time I went, but I'm glad I stuck it out LOL such a great spot!

Bagels are good and love the ordering online for pick up. But for the 3rd time the owner was unappreciative/brusque or downright surly while picking up. I'd much rather deal with his staff and am frankly tired of spending money where the proprietor treats customers as if he doesn't care. This time I wanted to pick up 2 oj's in addition to my $25 online order and was told dismissively that I had to have cash bc have to spend minimum $15 to use my card. Had no cash on me so no OJ despite having already spent $25. I paid extra to have bagels sliced and only half of them were sliced. And prices have increased to point that 6 sliced bagel and one cream cheese is $20. Plus all the street parking has been removed close by. Not the business' fault but it's the final push to find a new local bagel store, one that seems happy to have people in it. A smile and "thank you" go a long way and are free.

I think the 3.5 stars that the restaurant has is pretty accurate. Bagels are just fine but last time I went in they were hard. I think I'll explore a couple more bagel places in the area before coming back here.

For a place using Brooklyn in its name, I expected better. Came here for a quick breakfast with the family. I ordered an everything with scallion cream cheese, also got an order of plain with eggs and cinnamon raisin with cream cheese. Service was friendly no doubt! And our food came out quickly as well. The problem is: the food was not worth the little the waited. The bagel, although well seasoned, was so chewy! There was so much resistance trying to take a bite out of the bagel. And not only that, our order was messed up. We were given a plain bagel with cream cheese but charged for the plain bagel with eggs. So overall, not a great start to the day. Maybe they were overwhelmed because admittedly there were quite a few patrons. But I think it might be best to find other bagels.

Best bagel in the area. Great flavor, chew, and cream cheese. Parking can be not great, but it's totally worth it. The sandwiches are good as well! Go!

My husband and I were in the local area and was looking for a breakfast spot. We stumbled across this gem, the staff was friendly, we didn't have to wait long for our food and the breakfast and orange juice was delicious. The spot is small and can get filled pretty quickly,although they have minimal seating we were still able to get a seat and enjoy our breakfast. Highly recommend!!!

This place is my go-to for breakfast items. Cheap, efficient service, and it's really good. Gives you nyc vibes. Great coffee too

Predatory business practices give this place a 1 star, specifically the fact that they will only allow credit or debit payment with a minimum $10 order and mainly because they only inform you of this AFTER you have ordered and received your food. At a place where a bagel sandwich and coffee is less than $10 and would be a typical order this forces customers to buy more to get to $10 feeling obligated to do so since they have already ordered and received their food. I understand there is a cost to the merchant for credit card transactions. But in a worst case scenario on a $5 order this would be $0.25, and there is also a cost for depositing cash at most banks as well. It's a cost of doing business. If this were clearly marked up front, I would have atleast understood and accepted it. But its only marked, very discretely, at the top of the screen that processes the credit card transaction. It's 2023, most people don't carry cash, or don't carry a lot of cash on them. It's time for this business to change with the times, or at the very least ensure they are advising customers of this well in advance of the order. I ate my breakfast in the restaurant and in 15 minutes heard atleast 2 other people run into similar difficulties. The food was ok, nothing great, the bagel was a little dense, and a little dried out. I got the egg, cheese and bacon on a jalapeño cheddar. The bagel had a kick which was nice and the bacon was delicious thick real pieces of bacon. You only get 1 egg and the ratio of filling to bagel was a little sad. But I'm sorry no matter how good the food is, their business practice of essentially forcing customers to spend $10 gets them a 1 star and people should be made aware of their archaic business practices in advance.

I was recently staying in area for a few nights on trip to DC area, and came here every morning to pick up breakfast for my family. As a native New Yorker, I was highly skeptical of a place called "Brooklyn Bagels", as it is extremely difficult to obtain a decent bagel outside of NYC. To my surprise, the bagels were extremely good! Over course of few days my family and I had different selections: salt, sunflower, blueberry, French toast, chocolate chip - all incredibly delicious! Staff here is hustling away making breakfast orders, and they are very prompt with taking your order as soon as you walk in. My only issue here was inflated price for getting bagel with cream cheese on it. Regular bagel was $1.65 and with cream cheese was $3.75, which seems a bit pricey in my opinion. Half way through our trip I ended up taking a stroll to Target on Wilson (about 1/2 mile east down Wilson) and picked up an 8 ounce cream cheese for little over $2.00 - this carried us through the last 2 days of our trip. Brooklyn Bagels can certainly compete with authentic NY bagels!

Been coming here for 2 years, great bagels but they keep raising the prices to where it's not much of a value play. I've ordered the generally the same thing: a sausage, egg, cheese on a bagel with a large iced coffee and these are the costs after taxes. May 2021: $9.45 May 2022: $10.28 April 2023: $11.28 Since January 2023 I've noticed that quality dropped a tad. In the breakfast bagel sandwiches aren't as hot; the cheese isn't all the way melted, coffee grounds in the iced coffee. Not all orders but noticed it's happening more. The bagels are great a

Love the service, quick turnaround and tasty food. My partner always gets their sandwiches and I love their jalapeno cheddar bagel and iced coffee. It's a regular place for us to get breakfast from on weekends.

Great bagels for Va!! Being from NJ we definitely have the best bagels!! All kidding aside, bagels are very good, but have to say, quite pricey. I left there paying 30.00 for a dozen bagels and 2 small containers of plain cream cheese. Staff is very nice, quick service, and friendly. Will still buy bagels here when visiting family, but will get cream cheese before stopping in!

This is the best bagel place on the planet. They have a cream cheese selection to die for. The light cream cheese is amazing. I get the veggie light for my everything and garlic bagels. The NYC Lox is one of my favorites. They do it right with salmon. Capers, red onions with a thin skice of tomato. It's so filling I eat half and save the rest for the next day. When taking out I always get one cinnamon to satisfy my sweet craving. They prefer cash. Currently (Feb 2023) there is a temporary issue with parking due to new construction across the street but there's a big lot in the back. The entrance is just to the right after you pass them.with the burrito place at the end of their small shopping strip. A family owned hidden gem from r sure
