Superior quality of matcha. I got the matcha latte and my brothers got the tiramisu latte and both were perfect. Nice place to stop by when you’re waiting for table at baby blue luncheonette next door !!

The matcha tiramisu latte seriously changed my life for the better. The cheese is a perfect balance for the bittersweet matcha flavor. Everything I ordered was delicious! Highly recommend!

We finally visited Brooklyn Ball Factory which has been on our go-to list but failed many times due to the crowd. The decor is humble with relaxing ambiance but not recommended to dine in for someone who is looking for a comfortable spot. We had their Teriyaki Double Cheese Burger and Osouzai Salad. It was overall authentic with delicate flavors but small portion.

Only ordered food here, no drinks. I got the onigiri set & their vegetable miso soup. Chashu pork & salmon onigiri were good. I think their chashu is definitely better than the salmon, and the salmon portion was a bit skimpy. Edamame was good. They need more pickles. Just 2 tiny 1cm x 1cm squares of pickle? Cmon Miso soup was delicious and hearty, would recommend. Can probably get a bit crammed in there. A long line might be a long wait

Perfection. French toast with fresh delicious sweet fruit and fresh cream was delightful and my sister’s croissant with ham and cheese and a oatmilk mocha was so amazing she called me to let me know and she’s truly the pickiest eater and hardest person to please. If you haven’t treated yourself to this amazing little café, run, don’t walk. Love it!!!

What we got: - Hot Matcha Latte - Iced Matcha Latte - Spicy Salmon Mayo Onigiri Final Thoughts: The matcha here comes sweetened and I found the hot version sweeter than iced. It suits my taste just fine, but may be a tad too sweet for some. I also love that their onigiri are made fresh when ordered. Though the filling-to-rice ratio could use much more filling, there was something so comforting and cozy about this simple meal that still made it one of my favourites.

Amazing matcha (I like the unsweetened one) and well loved by the community! My one issue- onigiris here are very poorly filled (mostly rice) which was a big disappointment :( I would recommend coming for matcha and opting for a bento box or something other than the onigiri if you like lots of filling like I do!

Came to try some of their onigiri - I think we came at a somewhat busy time since I felt we waited a little bit for what we ordered - two onigiri bentos and the chicken sandwich. I did enjoy the roe and the salmon but the pork was okay and I didn't try the sour plum. I think the sandwich would've been better if it wasn't wrapped as it steamed a little bit. The place is pretty cute and local and felt very authentic. I think next time I'll just ordered the onigiri or I'll just get a coffee here. Cute vibes.

japanese cafe with solid pastries and onigiri.... i rly enjoyed the tiramisu latte (seasonal!) and matcha white chocolate muffin. tried my friends salmon onigiri and it hiiiit. there's inside and outside seating! since it's only two workers it does take awhile for ur orders to come out but it's worth the wait :) also!! the interior design!!

Great authentic Japanese spot to get onigiris, bento boxes and breakfast sandwiches by my home. Very trendy especially with the heavy metal steel door that gives it all. Love their heavy steel door that looks very retro and vintage. There are cute patio chairs and tables and a high table on the side for indoor dining. There is outdoor seating too and a garbage can by the door for discarding trash. Many utensils in an organized shelf to grab along with condiments for coffee and drinks. There is also a bathroom towards the end that is gender neutral. There used to be a 2nd level but due to the pandemic, it is closed down and nobody can go up anymore. I got the tiramisu matcha latte and it was very sweet and good. Not too much sugar and not too sweet. Very high quality matcha and fresh. Drink was coated with a lot of matcha powder on the top and I had to mix it in with the rest of the matcha latte. The place is always filled many young and trendy people and line can get long at times especially during the weekends around noon.

I recommend trying any of their coffee! I usually go for their American which you cannot go wrong with. But their cold brew is also something I gravitate towards especially during hot weather.

While waiting for our table at Winson to be ready, we walked over to get coffee here, as Winson Bakery's line was far too ambitious. I'm not sure how I haven't been here before but it is definitely a cafe that I want to go back to again, sit at, feel cute and not delete later. It has all the little treats my heart desires such as hojicha pudding, French toast, and fun seasonal hot drinks - tiramisu latte?! Yes, please. Our oat latte and flat white were delish. Thank you for being so lovely.

On the way to our actual breakfast spot, my brother wanted to stop at his weekly coffee spot. The decor was very homey and definitely gave a Japanese aesthetic. I ordered a Hojicha Latte and it warmed my soul during the chilly bluebird morning. Staff take great care in preparing your drinks and are very friendly! Looking forward to stopping by for another Hojicha Latte, and other breakfast items, when I visit again!

Please note that there is NOT a rooftop like many previous photos show! I came here at the recommendation of a friend and was lured in by the prospect of being able to enjoy a fun drink on a rooftop, but alas, there's only a cramped space with what I assume were the tables used in the aforementioned rooftop. I came by around 1:45pm on a Saturday and waited for about 15 min in line before I was able to order. I got the iced Yuzu Ginger Mint Tea, which I really enjoyed. I was able to snag a table and sit with a book while I killed time, but it's definitely not the atmosphere to do work.

Nice ambient cafe with plenty of greenery! iced hojicha latte ($5.75): it comes sweetened so make sure you let them know if you want it unsweet. Great flavor profile and delicious! chasu-don ($16): I'm pretty sure the prices on the website are wrong since it says $12.75 online, but this was still a great filling lunch. The pork belly was tender, and I loved the variety of vegetables as a side! I will say there is pretty limited space, and it can get crowded with everyone ordering and waiting for their items. Despite this, the menu items are superb, and I will be coming back for more!

Really cute Japanese cafe! The space is pretty small, but luckily my partner and I were able to find a spot to sit. We ordered a Tamago Sando to share, a Hojicha Latte, and Matcha Latte. Both lattes were sweetened. For how busy the cafe was on a Sunday afternoon, our food came out relatively quickly. I really liked the Tamago Sando. The lattes were good, but I think I would try them unsweetened next time. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

I've been coming here for my morning coffee for almost a year. I usually get a latte which was rich and smooth. I also sometimes get an onigiri which are pretty tasty too. Staff is friendly and service is quick. Space is a bit small but they have outdoor and street curb seating. It's also cool that they have a rewards program. Best coffee in the area in my opinion.

LOVED this cafe. Onigiri was different I loved it, I got the chashu (pork) and umeboshi (pickled plum) comes with fresh steamed edamame and some pickled veggie idk what it was but it had a salted taste. Tiramisu Latte was one of the best I've had omg buttt it was on the sweeter side so it's a preference. Staff was super nice! Will def be back

Small cute cafe, came here for a hojicha latte. Flavor was great, getting it iced was an extra dollar though! I'd want to come back to try their food if I'm ever in the area.

The tiramisu latte is delicious! We also got 4 rice balls. I think it's not enough filling so it lacks flavor. Would def come back to try more drinks!

My favorite matcha spot in South Williamsburg (bc really, there aren't many spots closeby unless you go to Bedford stop). Drankz: I'm addicted to their hojicha lattes - even unsweetened they are (chefs kiss). You can either get it sweetened or unsweetened, nothing in btwn (but you can add your own sweetener on the side). Food: I've gotten their onigiris quite a few times as well - I will say it's 90% rice (think that's how it usually is anyways but not sure) but it's still fire! Got the grilled salmon one and the beef and onion one, think they're about $3.25 a piece so a nice healthier snack. Ambiance: super cute! Tables are quite small (there's only 3) but I still come here and work / journal anyways. And they have outside seating too. Usually have been able to snag a seat (people come and go mostly) Would highly recommend making this a go to spot!!

This is reliably one of my favorite coffee shops in the neighborhood! Always quality drinks, especially their matcha. I love that they carry Topo Chico too. Espresso drinks are very good. For the coffee nerds, looks like they have the Japanese vacuum siphon contraptions, although I myself have never ordered it. They have a food menu, and I usually get the onigiri (which are always tasty). The space itself is quite gorgeous, industrial with lots of greenery. They used to have a cool rooftop you could go chill on, but it's closed now and the stairs are blocked off (unfortunately). Service is always friendly. Can't wait to drop by again!

Absolutely love this cafe/restaurant. I tried the tiramisu latte and has quickly become my go to in this neighborhood, which has many many options for coffee. Do not miss out on their onigiri lunch set, the char siu tastes very traditional and is a great price! The vintage industrial style of the decor is beautiful with the amount of plants they also take care of. It's a great place to get a lil work done as they also have Wi-Fi and outdoor seating.

Tiramisu latte was so good, very creamy and not too sweet. Love the salmon onigiri and their French toast was perfect too. Lots of different food options. The service is fast and it's on a nice block with other dining and shopping options. Love all the plants inside and there are outdoor and indoor seating spots. A little harder to get a spot inside.

forever one of my favorite cafes. I went back for the first time in ab a month since I live a little further from it now and it was a rainy day and the ambiance was perfect. the staff are always so nice to interact with & genuinely so kind. Bro. Worlds smallest space. I ordered coffee one day and a chai another both are delicious. Def get your morning drinks from there. On the other hand the food. It's elaborate. I guess I shouldn't say on the other hand. The food (French toast) was yummy for sure. Much more elaborate that I expected. Which made me happy. Next time I'm in BK I will go back there. Def worth it.

This place is so delicious!!! I had the matcha w almond milk (sweetened) omg soooooooo good!!!!!!!! My sister had the tiramisu iced latte and wow probably one of the best lattes I've had (I've had too many) staff is friendly and fast! The place is cute and raw I definitely recommend 1000/10

Was in the area and heard great things about this place. They had a line but it moved quickly. I didnt have the food this time so this review is solely based on their hojicha latte which was the perfect balance of sweet and hojicha. I will be back to try more of their menu!

The brunch food is great! Light, healthy, and clean. Overall no complaints about this place at all. I would say that if you want to eat there, get there early or else it might be difficult to get a table

I'll start off by saying the breakfast burrito is BOMB. It's seasoned with miso and unlike any breakfast burrito I've had before. Highly recommend. By the time I got there around 2pm on a Saturday all the pastries were gone so I can't comment there. No indoor seating but there's plenty of good seating outside as long as the weather is decent. I'd have to give this place 4 stars mostly because the prices are pretty steep and my matcha latte was super super sweet to the point that I couldn't finish it (not sure why the default is sweetened, I'd ask for it unsweetened).

I've been here once before and had an iced mocha which I wasn't impressed with, but noticed others getting different drinks and their food looked good. I decided I was going to be back and try something else. Soo glad that I did. I got a hoji cha latte and loved it. I'm not usually a fan of sweet drinks, this was pre sweetened and I did enjoy it. They also offer it unsweetened. My sister also got a hoji cha latte with soy milk and she said that she couldn't tell it was soy because soy milk makes drinks less creamy usually, she really enjoyed it. We also both got onigiris. I got a chasu one which is pork, my sister got the seaweed one. We both really enjoyed them, the rice was a nice texture and had flavor to it. I did think it could have a bit more filling though, I had one slice of pork in mine... my sister thought her seaweed one was super flavorful. There was a line out the door, and I do agree the menu is in a weird spot, when I first came I wasn't even aware they had so much food options because I didn't notice a menu for food. The line did move quick and our food and drinks came out rather quickly.

Cute little Japanese cafe open from 9am - 5pm. Busy on a weekend, took a while to get served. Lovely staff with attention to detail. We just got chai latte's which were homemade and had the right balance of masala spice, not overly sweet). Food looked delicious and we look forward to return another day. Upstairs section closed.

One of my favorite cafes - the cafe offers coffee, tea, pastries, snacks, lunch and a cute vibe. They make their coffee well and their tea lattes even better. Not many places offer a tasty hojicha latte. Sometimes I go in for their bento box, which always makes me full! The pastries I haven't had in a while but can't say this area is their forte from my experience. The place closes somewhat early breakfast/lunch time is the best time to go.

You guys need to hire more staff. Love the place but waited 20 min for a matcha...this has probably happened to me like 5 times that I've been there. Staff needs more support plain and simple.

My go to spot for close to perfect matcha latte. I'm picky where I go for matcha latte and this is my favorite place. You can get the matcha latte ice or cold but it's pure perfection every time. Outdoor dining establishment only. This place also has a breakfast and Japanese lunch menu. Their banana walnut muffin is a must try, it moist and has pieces of banana on the inside and the edges are crispy. It's also warm when you get it, a perfect pair for your matcha latte. The breakfast burrito is a bit on the spicy side since it contains chipotle sauce, comes with a side of fruits with your order.

I love this place. I feel bad I wrote a negative review the one time out of 100 I had a weird experience. I also love that this place is open every day: Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Years Day. East Williamsburg is so lucky to have BBF in our neighborhood! About to drink their amazing coffee and eat their amazing salmon croissant.

My favorite matcha is all of NYC. The ratio of milk and matcha is perfect. I love their tiramisu latte (get it hot!) too but it can get a little too sweet for me. It is more like a dessert drink. I also really love their salmon bento. It has a great variety of items and the salmon is always cooked to perfection.

They do not serve black guests. I can't speak about the food even though I spent more than a half hour at Brooklyn Ball. When I placed my order for one breakfast item, 8-10 people were behind me. The people behind me got their food, and I was still waiting for my order. While waiting, I made eye contact with the order taker several times, who assured me repeatedly it would be "just a couple of minutes." I get it; orders get lost, but when the host told me those 8-10 people who were behind me were in front of me, it was time for me to leave. I won't get my 30 minutes back. I hope you don't make the same mistake I did by going to BBF.

Awesome little hole in the wall on Montrose Ave. Was looking for a quick place to eat, saw a bunch of people going in and out so I decided to check it out. Food was really fresh and they had tables set up outside which I really appreciated. Staff was pleasant as well.

Brooklyn Ball Factory is an unassuming, local gem of East Williamsburg. It has a cute, sleek aesthetic and nice but simple outdoor dining area. Service is kind and professional. Staff practice social distancing. The food and drinks are delicious and expertly assembled. I ordered the Yuzu Ginger Mint Tea and Grilled Salmon. Both items were mouth watering and satisfying. The salmon was cooked perfectly, the roasted vegetables were finely seasoned, and the edamame accented the dish very well. Prices are relatively affordable for the area. Brooklyn Ball Factory has a diverse menu that I look forward to fully experiencing.

Despite the fact that the baristas are generally very unfriendly... I continued to go to this place because it was so close to my apartment... that said I had a bad experience and will NOT be back. Accidentally forgot to ask for oat milk and was given a regular latte. Apologized for my mistake and asked to pay for a new one made with Oat milk... was completely ignored literally as though I did not exist... the barista rolled her eyes at me and read her book and pretended I was not two feet in front of her trying to politely ask for a new latte until I gave up and turned around to leave... Very bizarre behavior, unless this is their schtick? either way.. no thanks

My friend and I each got the gyu-don for $13. It was beef + rice + salad and veggies. Barely any meat was given, and the quality of it was incredibly mediocre. I'd go and spend your $13 somewhere else. Nothing special about this place. Hopefully the coffee is better. Won't be back

So my wife and I have been going to BBF for well over 10 years. Today she walked in at 11:01 for some breakfast and they refused because she was 1 minute late. Honestly I'll never return after that type of outlook/attitude. Big L for you guys I've spent thousands at your establishment.

The food and ambiance here used to be great. Now it's terrible. The meatball bento used to be my favorite. Now the meatball bento just tastes like ground meat patties with sweet sauce slapped on it. The veggies have no flavor and they replaced the brown rice with plain white rice. The salad was also stale. For a bento that's charged $15, I expect more. There's also no place to sit inside anymore and the rooftop is closed. Don't come here! Spend your $ somewhere else

The onigiri is absolutely horrendous. I have never had such a dry meal in my entire life. All they did was cook maybe a couple molecules of salmon, wrapped it in a gallon of almost uncooked rice, and called it a day. The sides are pathetic. Why in the world would I eat edamame with my onigiri. ALSO THERE IS NO SOY SAUCE. The 3 little cubes of sweet radish was the best thing out of this "meal". All for $8 a pop. enough to feed two families with dollar pizzas. Do not go here.

I really wanted to like this spot! And I did really love the feel of the place and the folks that worked there, but I think 1) food just wasn't that special/great (we got the bento boxes with meatball and shabushabu pork, maybe the curry is better), 2) seating area inside is quite limited so not the best for winter (we sat outside upstairs which probably is glorious in the spring/autumn), and 3) it's kind of out of our way- just given the two pts above I wouldn't seek it out again. I will say though that the drinks were pretty unique and quite tasty. Probably the highlight of the meal. I got a hojicha latte and it was super tasty albeit a little sweeter than I typically drink. Boy got their yuzu ginger honey mint tea which we both though was great and really refreshing.

Expensive and long wait for an alright meal. It was good but portions are small and its another one of those Uber hipster spots where everyone is too cool for school.
