The purpose of this review is not to hate or harm this restaurant in any way, shape, or form. That being said, I hope you take this review as an informative review. Atmosphere: This place has a good concept, order at the touchscreen kiosks and pick it up when it's ready without entering the shop. However, I do think they can improve with the touchscreens when showing the menu. You can either take your food to go or eat it right there. I think they have 5 tables around where you can eat. Service: There was definitely a lack of good service in this shop. If an employee is going to be outside of the shop to assist customers, he or she should assist every customer with a good attitude and not with a face looking like they wish their shift could end sooner. Food: Sadly, the worst part of all was the food. I went in so excited to try their food because it looked promising. I ordered the crispy chicken Chop Chop Bowl, Dumpling Pork Soup, and the Apple Cinnamon Dumplings. First, the crispy chicken Chop Chop Bowl looked nothing like the picture and certainly did not taste as good as I thought. Secondly, the Dumpling Pork Soup was definitely disappointing, with too much grease, tasteless meat, and weird dumpling texture. Lastly, the dough from the Apple Cinnamon Dumplings was raw. As you can see from the pictures, I just took out the apples from the inside. Price: I always say that if quality and flavors are really good, prices are not a problem. In this case, the quality and flavors do not compensate the high prices.

I really wanted to come here and leave with a 5-star review, but I just couldn't. My first impressions were very positive. I loved the modern design and all the screens and how they place your order in an individual light-up locker. I also like that you're able to place your order right there on the touch screen so that's exactly what I did. Unfortunately, it took 29 minutes from ordering til my food was handed to me. The guy who handed it to me was apologetic and I understand because it was near closing time, but I also want to factor in the fact that he told us that they turned off the stove or something so they were only able to give me two orders for crispy potstickers and not 1 crispy and 1 seared like I ordered. Even if those were the only two problems, I still would have rated 5 stars, but then I got home and I tried the crispy buffalo bites and I was so disappointed. I have no idea why they cost $8.50, but those were the saddest chicken bites I had ever seen. They were like buffalo bites you would buy in a freezer package and then re-heat in a microwave. I can do better than that with frozen chicken chunks from Costco, a bottle of Frank's Red Hot, and an air fryer. It seems like the only reason they can get away with charging $8.50 for it is because they garnished it with a few scallions. As for the potstickers, they were pretty good. They came with a couple sauces which were great and I really enjoyed them, but I'm not a huge fan of the prices for these either. I can walk outside and get a whole platter of chicken over rice for $7 and be able to eat until I'm full and still have some left over. I just don't think 6 crispy teriyaki chicken potstickers are worth that price given that I can easily finish them and still be hungry. While I am sympathetic to rising prices everywhere in addition to the fact that their rent price in Queens Place Mall is probably astronomical, I do feel very disappointed and almost cheated by the quality of that buffalo bowl. I'm willing to give it another shot here, but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

This was my first time here. I thought I’d be going to an actual spot where I could sit down and enjoy my food but this particular one was in a mall. That was a tad disappointing. I was able to order on the kiosk but it seemed a tad off like all the options I saw online was not available on the kiosk. I assumed because it was in a mall it was a mini dumpling shop that just did not provide all menu options. I could be mistaken and may have needed to order with the staff member at the register. I ended up ordering kung pao dumplings and cheesesteak dumplings. The kung pao ones looked like regular like chicken dumplings I get from ShopRite…on the inside. But the flavor was definitely there and tasty. They had some spice which I love so that was a plus. The cheesesteak dumplings were good as well. I thought I saw a sauce to go with them in the menu but when I asked a worker they had ketchup and soy sauce. Couldn’t go wrong with ketchup. They were a tad greasy but didn’t take away from the taste. Next time I’ll make sure I’ll go to an actual location and not a mini takeout shop.

Google
Horrible !!!!!! $64 down the damn drain as if food isn’t expensive enough. I Should’ve read previous reviews thoroughly because this is not it! Can you say frozen foods ? That’s exactly what was served. Noodles have nothing in them, shrimp taste like they were heated up and soggy, dumplings were nasty and hard. Never again.

Google
Delicious!!!!😋😋😋 I had both the Kung pao and the lamb Dumplings with the Tzatziki sauce they were both amazing ☺️ each bite was burst of flavor. I couldn’t take more pictures because I was too excited to try haha. I have never had such good dumplings the flavors and the fact that they were fully stuffed. So satisfying! The staff was super friendly and helpful when I was deciding what to order 😊 . I may have to come back to NY for these dumplings🥟

Google
Super innovative place, even though the transaction process is automated there is still someone there to answer all your questions. I got a recommendation to get the cheese steak seared dumplings which were mad good! I'll be back really soon 🙂

Just ordered today and it was an awesome experience. Kudos to Omar, a very good and honest guy. He knows what he’s selling. Not to mention, his customer service is above and beyond. I’d like to appraise the clean place also the friendly chefs working. I was able to chit chat with them even in just a seconds. Over all, the place and the food is highly recommended. 👍

Yelp
I was hungry for a snack after shopping at Lidl and Target. This place has been here for a while and I finally decided to try it. I was actually more intrigued by the self service ordering than the food. Anyhow I ordered 3 veggie dumplings. I think the options were seared or deep fried. There isn't much ambiance because it is set up let a lunch o mat. It looks as if one's order is put inside of a locker to be retrieved. Actually my order was handed to me by the counter person. The food was good. It comes with soy sauce . I may try a heavier option on my next visit .

Yelp
This is located at the weird circular mall that houses the Target upstairs and Lidel Supermarket downstairs. There are no tables other than those provided by the mall. So it's noisy depending on what activity it going on. The tables are also limited and not very clean. Not really the place's fault but the fault of whoever runs the mall. This isn't a restaurant but a food kiosk. You order off an electronic pad. You pay electronically. You give them your number and they text you when your order is ready. Except they never text me when they were done while my daughter and I went shopping. Finally, my daughter went to check and texted me that she sees what she thinks is our food but wasn't sure how to get it. It was placed behind a glass locker. Were we supposed to scan the ur code on the receipt? But where? We were saved the embarrassment when someone popped up from the window to ask if we order the mix and match dumplings. Yes, we were! We were originally going to eat it when we got home but decided to try to find a table to eat. Luckily, someone left so we snagged the table which was really dirty but we stayed on the clean side. We had ordered Kung pao chicken dumplings and chicken Parmesan dumplings. The wrapper was thin and parts were very crispy. The skin touching the filling was not crunchy. The kung pao filling was bland with a hint of heat here and there. The chicken parmesan was strange. It almost tasted like they used chicken parmesan pasta as the filling. I wasn't a fan of it. Overall we were glad we tried it but we weren't impressed by it.

Yelp
Went there twice and they had nothing I wanted to eat . It was only 11:30am than 3pm. Person says they are waiting in deliveries. This was 2 different weeks. No pork buns, no crispy pork nothing I wanted. I will not try again.

Yelp
Excited try to taste a cheeseburger dumpling or pepperoni pizza type but unfortunately this location I go on Sunday April 14 2024 12:30pm doesn't carry different varieties of dumpling only teriyaki type very disappointed.

Yelp
We were shopping at Target and got hungry. So, we ordered online. It said it was gonna be ready in 10 min. So we hit checkout and went down to grab a table. Upon picking up our order we were notified that they didn't have one of the options we chose and they made us something else. They also gave us another flavor for the inconvenience. They also checked in while we were eating. Superb customer service! The dumplings were tasty and were really filling. Will def be coming back to try other flavors. We tired the reuben, cheesesteak and chicken parmesan. The reuben was the best one!!

Yelp
The automat has arrived in Queens. Interested in joining the hype? Soft opening is now. Get ready to wait on the long line. This place is popular. Order and pay by credit card through the kiosk. When your food is ready, your order number shows up on the screen. Scan bar code and open one of the row of boxes/ lockers with your food inside. This is great for snacking on the go. Don't expect to get full unless you order a lot of dishes. Price point is high for what you get. Newbie cooks here, so it will take awhile to get it right. Don't expect gourmet. A bit gimmicky. They are planning on opening more stores. Interesting variety of flavored dumplings, like lamb gyro, buffalo chicken and reuben.

Yelp
TLDR; Not worth the price OR the unnecessarily long wait AND expect lots of mistakes with your order. I'm an Elmhurst native, born and raised. Seeing this location of Brooklyn dumpling was so exciting for my home neighborhood, but alas it was thoroughly disappointing. I placed my order at 5:12pm and my order was not ready until 6:10pm. Isn't that a wild long wait for an "automat" which isn't even automatic. Like nothing is automatic. There's too many employees you can see working in the back for such a long wait. We ordered: - 2 specialty dumplings ( kbbq and lamb gyro) - 2 regular dumplings (chicken teriyaki and pork) - kungpao chicken bowl - dark chocolate dessert dumplings - waffle fries - fire pork dumplings in broth We stood there waiting for almost half an hour before we realized standing there was no productive. The crowd around us grew and everyone was becoming impatient. You can also see the 2 employees at the front who are there to "help" people are beginning to offer everyone standing around soft drinks while they wait as everyone was complaining. I already spotted them messing up a few peoples orders too which didn't leave much hope. We finally decided to go up and walk around target just to find that it was going to be an hour wait when they finally texted the food was ready. Now I scan my receipt and yes the door with my food opens, but oh wait one of my bags of food is stuck from the door inside, so now that was great... very automated to watch the employee go to the back to open it and push it through. Then the best part - we get home with the food and THEY DIDNT GIVE US 2 OF THE SPECIALTY DUMPLINGS. An hour long wait for missing items??? My poor father took the role of heading back to let them know and retrieve these items. We also received a regular pork dumpling soup, not the fire pork which also is a mistake. My dad came back and said they let him know the pork soup was still cooking so they gave him an extra different dumpling instead. Now to the dumpling tasting... again disappointing. You're basically biting into oil filled dumplings that all really taste THE SAME. like either they really messed up and gave us all a bunch of dumplings that were wrong and were the same or they really do taste the same. Whether it was the Korean bbq or the lamb gyro or whatever else dumpling they gave ... you couldn't tell the difference. The kungpao chicken was mushy, the rice was WET and not cooked well and the sauce just tasted like frozen Trader Joe's. The wait and mistakes could have been excused as they "just opened", but this isn't the first location of Brooklyn dumpling so they don't deserve that lenience and also the dumplings were actually terrible. Not worth the hype, the price, and there's no "experience" to it. Just walk over to Kulu and get the dumplings they have there or the really cheap delicious dumplings any place in Elmhurst. Just not this unless you want to spend extra $ on oily dumplings that aren't tasty. The only item we would order again and liked (just not worth the price or wait) is the pork dumplings in broth! But are you going to wait half an hour+ for 5 little dumplings in a tiny container of soup lol. What a wasteeeee!!!

Yelp
Came in earlier today, my friend and I saw this cute dumpling spot and thought we'd try it out. 10/10 recommend. Had the buffalo dumplings and it was amazing and fresh! Great customer service aswell! Met the Gm, I believe his name was Alvin, he was very attentive and even gave us a complimentary dessert, it was yummy. Will be recommending and will probably stop by soon.

Yelp
The employee assisting with the Kiosk was extremely helpful and personable. The food was amazing. Unfortunately we got there late when they were about to close and they were still cool enough to serve us. I will say they need a few more tables and chairs.

Yelp
I ordered the broth combo which the soup dumplings were amazing, the lo mein noodles and the traditional dumplings. The food was amazing and highly recommend. They even have a unique and cool way of ordering. Must try!

Ricardo Andrade-Garcia A.

Yelp
Food was not good at all, did not taste fresh and was way too overpriced for something to taste like it got cooked in a microwave. Highly do not recommend.

James I.

Yelp
The dumplings I tried were delicious, fresh and quite innovative. Good customer service and this new establishment definitely has that edge to it. But why the three stars? The wait was quite long as it took about 15 minutes for the food to arrive. Hopefully this place sticks around and improve on its operations and logistics.

Yelp
I'm new to the reviewing of restaurants and businesses as I have never really understood the value of public complaining on a website until recently. I'm a young adult, fresh out of college and don't have a lot of money. When I patronize a business, I expect the experience and goods received to align with the cost. Went to Brooklyn Dumpling, which recently opened in Queens, in the same mall as Target & Best Buy on Queens Blvd. One star was given for location, the establishment is located in a mall where there isn't a good amount of grab and go food options, so this is a plus. Ordered Mac N Cheese dumplings, Cheeseburger dumplings and a Chop Chop Bowl. Received Pepperoni Pizza dumplings in place of Mac and Cheese dumplings, not once but twice. First time I received a 'corrected order', but it was again Pepperoni Pizza dumplings. Biting into the dumplings I was instantly reminded of a hot pocket or frozen pizza rolls. After advising the employee who was working the front of the store front about receiving the wrong order again, he advised the Pepperoni Dumplings and Mac N Cheese dumplings were mixed up and then was advised they were out of Mac N Cheese dumplings. Was also advised that the rice for the chop chop bowl would take 15 minutes to make so considering my time restraints I opted for dumplings in place of. Ordered Philly Cheese Steak and Korean BBQ - was advised that Korean BBQ was also no longer in stock. Took the loss on the additional dumpling order and just ate the Philly Cheesesteak & Cheeseburger. Filling was flavorful however it was pasty and looked like mystery meat. It was approximately 530 p.m. when I visited Brooklyn Dumpling, and 2 staple dumplings not available to order is unacceptable. The business has only been open for a few weeks, while this can suggest high demand, I would expect the business to be adequately stocked seeing how Brooklyn Dumpling is a franchise there should have adequate experience from the opening of other stores to leverage in product management. Having signage advising customers of what items aren't available to order, to avoid wasting a consumers time would be extremely helpful. The second star given was for the staff. Very friendly and accommodating. They managed a growing and frustrated crowd with poise and professionalism. My order was nearly 40 dollars, which is really expensive for a recent college graduate and most importantly I did not enjoy the food. I would consider returning in a few months, allowing for the business to get acclimated to the demand and production needs.

Harley Z.

Yelp
Had been waiting for this kiosk/automat style dumpling shop to open for a while now. First off, the video screen menus do not display prices. You don't know what items cost until you are ordering. After waiting a few minutes to order because only 1 of the 2 ordering stations was working I finally got my turn. There was a friendly staff member nearby to help with any questions and to explain how this system worked to those unfamiliar. After I ordered I saw my order number appear on one of the screens. I then proceeded to wait. And wait. After 16 minutes the staff member said it would be another 5 minutes. But assured me it would be hot and fresh. They did offer me a free beverage for my wait, which was a nice gesture. 15 minutes later I got a text message letting me know my food was ready. A half hour wait in total. I scanned the receipt and the door opened revealing the 2 items I ordered. One of which I had noticed was sitting in the window for a few minutes. I ordered the pork buns and the seared Korean bbq dumplings. Neither of which was very good to be honest. The pork buns had little to no flavor associated with a pork bun.The dough was bland and chewy and the filling was tasteless. The Korean bbq dumplings were not any better. A typical dumpling skin and some mystery meat filling with no tie to Korean bbq. I didn't know what I was eating. I didn't finish either one of them. I realize the place is new, but this was not a good first impression.

Jane Y.

Yelp
Zero stars if I could. I usually never write reviews but you know it's bad if I do. Waited over an hour for a simple order. Dumpling dough was raw and didn't receive some parts of our order that we paid for.

Erika S.

Yelp
First time going to Brooklyn dumpling shop in queens and it exceeded my expectations. The Korean bbq beef specialty dumplings were 10/10. I would also suggest trying out the dessert menu, it will not disappoint. Johnathan was also a great help with helping me making a selection of their wide variety of dumplings. Definitely will be coming back again!

Veronica C.

Yelp
Ordered for a gathering of 20 people plus. Service was AMAZING! Mac and cheese and chocolate dumplings were absolutely awesome !!!
