"In a city where big businesses like Whole Foods dominate the natural and organic food market, it’s lovely to see a small business like Apple Tree thriving. They cater to folks looking to live a healthier and holistic lifestyle in Bay Ridge. Their friendly and knowledgeable staff helps add to the familial environment of the store. Whatever specific natural product you may be looking for, you will most likely find there—and while you’re there pet the store mascot Nicky the cat." - the serif design

"If a supermarket can be described as “beautiful” then that’s the proper description for Brooklyn Market. It is well stocked and their products are beautifully displayed. They have lots of specialty items at great prices, and they also often times offer samples of various quality foodstuffs from different departments and they have a private parking lot to boot!" - the serif design

Love this place for fresh bakery items at reasonable prices. The day I signed my lease to move to Bay Ridge,, my daughter and I walked around the neighborhood and found this store. Huge variety of specialty items. Their rotisserie chicken is well seasoned and tender and worth the $7.99 price tag. When I arrived today at 5 pm, they only had 3 left on the shelf. I also love their selection of ready made brownies, there were 4 kinds and the caramel sea salt were really good. This is my second purchase of their sourdough bread. It is so soft, which means it is fresh. They also had Irish soda bread, getting ready for St Patty's Day and plenty of pretty floral arrangements for Easter, when you first enter the store. There is free parking across the street for customers. I never leave empty-handed! They didn't have chicken salad and no one was behind the deli counter to ask, so I got a rotisserie chicken instead, with plans to make my own, but ended up picking the.chickem off the bone before I could make salad. LOL!

Nicely laid out supermarket. Wonderful assortment of freshly made breads, rolls, & hero bread made daily in their ovens. Some items a bit high in price. They have a tie in with Foodtown.

Terrible… absolutely terrible. Their products are expired- even though the expiration date says otherwise.the 2 at the register-the young short man with dark hair, and the heavy set girl with dark hair are absolutely rude. need to be trained properly or replaced. Disgusting customer service.

Google
Higher end supermarket with a huge parking lot located across the street with plenty of parking always available. They have a nice selection of coffee, beer and cheese including homemade mozzarella. Their products are slightly pricey but of good quality. Their store wasn’t dirty but the produce section floor needed sweeping. The entire store was a bit too dimly lit and the layout was slightly confusing, i.e. Teriyaki was located in 2 different locations, aisle 1 & 3 with both containers labeled “marinade & sauce”. Overall one of the best supermarket in Bay Ridge.

Google
The Brooklyn Market has an excellent selection of items! I usually travel the extra distance to shop here instead of Key Food, which is much closer to home. They have a wide selection of products I used to have a harder time finding, such as pints of Van Leeuwen non dairy ice cream. You will sacrifice the speed of available self checkout lanes, but the cashier staff is incredibly friendly and very helpful. Be sure to check out their artisanal cheese counter!

Google
Great place to shop. Good deli & the shelves have plenty of food.

Google
Clean, fresh produce, and a great variety of products! Prices are not too bad. I cant believe the had pre packaged greens for my veggie shakes... I love this place! Great new addition to the neighborhood.

After years of shopping here I will not go into this store again unless it suits me because I want a loaf of bread or a scone as the bakery is the only reason TO visit the store. Timeless times I have purchased spoiled items, their fruit is not as fresh as other stores, and if you buy items on sale, it does not come up correctly when the item is rung up. Perfect example, Monday I purchased Brooklyn Market's brand of honey mustard dressing and it is spoiled. Rather than bring it back, I just threw it away. Anyway, I have never posted about those incidents but rather just adjusted my shopping pattern to shop at a different store for certain items. Today I am posting a review because I am fed up with this store, their practices and their manager. This store is supposed to be part of the Bay Ridge Community? Well they do not act that way. It seems like it is a one-sided relationship ... just give me your money. The past week, there was a sale on Wesson oil. Every day during the sale I was at the store and they did not have Wesson vegetable oil. Well guess what, today the sale is over, the shelves are stocked with Wesson oil and they want want me to believe that today the Wesson oil was delivered. Long story short, the manager would not give the sale price and they do not give rain checks. Great business practices! Anyway CTown on 78th and 3rd Avenue just reopened and the store is very well stocked, the produce is fresh, they give rain checks and the manager is a pleasure to deal with.

Yelp
Overpriced, always smells like bleach, and always has a flood on the floor in the produce section. I only come here when it's horrible weather or in desperate need of something as it is so close to my house. HORRIBLE SERVICE 12/20/2023 - You can tell since there is no information on their "Contact Us" page on their website. They don't care My cashier forgot to bag over 20 dollars worth of items, she only put my ice bag in the bag and left out 3 other items. I didn't notice and when I called the shop they said I had to come in with my receipt and they could check the cameras. I said I had my receipt with the time can they check? I gave her the exact time, the cash register the woman's name, and the items. She then said I was wrong it was the wrong shop, etc. She refused to give me her name or the name of the manager or let me speak to the manager. She kept telling me I just had the wrong store. Once I get my money back I will never go there again, no matter how desperate I am for convenience and I encourage you to do the same.

Victor F.

Yelp
Very cold in the store - good for summer, bad for anytime else. They are local and convenient to me. Their prices are on the high side but since they're so close to me and I'm kinda lazy I don't venture too far out. I have work do you need for a local supermarket so if you're around the area and you prefer parking which they have across the street go for it if there's another place closer to you I would not stop here from out of the way. Good alcohol selection for beers by the way

steven f.

Yelp
Adam the cashier is very nasty. Was just in there purchasing items. Some items the sign said 50 percent off at checkout. Got to checkout and he was nasty asking for a store cars. I didn't have one but he never offered a way to get one nor did he even ask if we needed a bag. I will never return to this store with nasty people. Oh and for the record I worked 10 plus years in a supermarket and never spoke or treated a customer like that. Shame on you Adam.

Jack B.

Yelp
Overpriced to begin with. But only writing this review since I purchased food last night, including a package of organic Valley cheese with expiration over a month for now. Opened cheese today and was completely molded inside. Went back today to return and told I need receipt which I threw out not expecting this of course. Told them to look up my number and refused. Waste of money on overpriced cheese. Insane. Foodtown will always be best supermarket in area. Had a similar experience at Foodtown with chicken that smelled bad last year and they didn't even question me and exchanged it right away. For $7 Brooklyn Market lost a customer. Won't even buy a single item from there moving forward.

Yelp
This is my favorite traditional grocery store in Brooklyn. Bay Fruit in Sheepshead Bay is 24 hours and has great produce, and a fine hot table, but their regular groceries lean far Eurasian, which makes sense. This store is great because they have organic 'new age' food for specialty diets, fresh produce, and regular standard pantry items. I haven't tried their hot table and cold deli items, or their bakery, as I am Gluten intolerant, but it looks like quality food. The cashier was kind and patient. The customer behind me offered to scan her loyalty card if needed, but it wasn't necessary. The fact that every customer and every employee inside the walls of this establishment wete peaceful really makes you feel that welcoming vibe. I stopped going to regular stores due to Covid, and haven't found the selection worth returning for. However, this clean, comfortable, welcoming store has nice lighting, wide aisles, and decent prices on a good selection. I didn't feel rushed at the counter, and I felt that if I had needed to get an additional bag, it wouldn't have ruined the cashier's day. I plan to shop here anytime I can just to put my money in here. I don't drive here because of the parking issue, but it was highly accessible by Uber.

Eric C.

Yelp
Great supermarket. It's nice to find healthy products in a big-ish store in Bay Ridge. Usually in this type of neighborhood healthy foods are in little niche spots that lack breadth of products. Brooklyn Market had exactly what we were looking for. The prices are not Amazon dot com supermarket prices, but they aren't unfair, so you're definitely not getting ripped off. I'll be back, being that it's in a great location.

Michelle E.

Yelp
I have loved coming to this food store but apparently they have carts being stolen so they have their gate locked and the stroller I bring my son in can't fit the small open gap. Sad to say you've lost a customer now. Nobody was there to help unlock the gate and I'm now just forced to use another grocery store.

Stephen F.

Yelp
Terrible service. Quality of care in store is way down. People don't care. Not the cashiers, they're great

Marina E.

Yelp
Okay so I decided to give them another shot because they're conveniently close to me. Wow. A million times better! They just renovated the inside and it's funny because I was thinking that the front set up was annoying! Wow I am really impressed with how it looks now and I like the staff that works there. I think the other managers either left or got fired which is great cause I'm still mad at my last incident.

Jason D.

Yelp
The best and freshest products there is in Brooklyn , variety of produce , meats and breads , anything you want you find it at Brooklyn Harvest Market . My favorite place to shop for groceries and more

Jake C.

Yelp
So back when it opened it was the Brooklyn market, it was amazing, great quality. The place has gone down hill since the new owners took over- however the bakery is still amazing. If this was 7 years ago it would be 5 stars. The quality was better, if they can get back there I'll be there 3 times a week

Alely S.

Yelp
CHECK your deli cheese or meat. The deli person gave me this crumbled cheese that's supposed cheddar cheese slices. Didn't realize until next day when I opened package. Update: I decided to just put the cheese crumbled on my sandwich and it gave me diarrhea. Didn't have time to return it yesterday. WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO BROOKLYN MARKET FOT ANY DELI MEAT!

Yelp
Updated review to reply to manager's response -- whoa, he is an outright liar. 1. The mask "offered" to me was NOT sealed, please go ahead recheck your cameras. I'll wait. 2. I was approached by your belligerent employee upon walking in - no customers complained about me because, well, none saw me. 3. I was wearing a face shield, in accordance with the governor's mandate. 4. As for my moral obligations, how about yours? It is YOUR moral obligation not to berate and degrade customers. Every Bay Ridge citizen who thinks of shopping here should know they are supporting not only an abusive staff, but a total liar in charge. (Why not take responsibility and apologize for mistreating me? Yikes. The future is not looking good for this place if this is the "customer service.") Original review: This morning I came to shop with my face shield on, as I usually do, when I was approached by an employee (who refused to give me her name when asked), telling me to put on a paper mask or leave. (She was holding the mask with her bare hands, with no protective covering on it. Ew. No thank you!) I politely declined, and explained my medical reasons for the face shield. I was shocked by her response-- "You have no medical rights here, it's a private business." My mother was shopping with me and explained I always wear this here due to my medical condition. She snapped, "Wear it or leave." I opted to leave, of course, as I was frankly feeling abused at this point. However, as I went to move away from her, the woman retrieved a shopping cart and used it to block my path, then continued to follow me, pointing to the door and stammering, "Exit's here!" I honestly felt attacked and unsafe, as if she'd hit me with the cart if I didn't keep moving. I want to let management know this woman is hostile and unstable. She did not greet me or my mother (you know, paying customers), didn't say good morning- nothing. She was aggressive, unkind and bizarrely angry. And she refused to give me her name, which is telling of her behavior. As an important note to this woman should she ever be addressed for this behavior and your permanent loss of two customers: I'm sorry to burst your bubble here, anonymous grocery store employee bully, but I actually DO have medical rights in any establishment.... and your neighboring grocery store seems to understand that, as they readily respected my rights (and my $224 purchase).

Gus S.

Yelp
Customer service was horrible ...there is a specific individual who is not pleasant to deal with and is totally unprofessional. the management in that market place needs to step up their game and really interview the employees properly before hiring them I recommend staying away from this place .. on top of all that, they don't even practice safe guidelines for COVID-19 ...cashiers are without masks and don't believe in the 6 feet apart rule... Also I've seen employees in that store cough all over items without any consideration for others I've even seen them wipe their noses with their bare hands and continue to touch and stock items in the store

David D.

Yelp
So normally my only complaint here is that you need to watch the cash register like a hawk because they try to swindle you on the sale prices. But now with the COVID-19 pandemic they are price gouging on everything including groceries. Look at the photos that I included. They are not even honoring their own online circular during the crisis. The circular advertises one price and at the market they charge another. If you are able to walk a few extra blocks to the next super market which is owned by the same parent company and charges normal prices, please do. During this crisis, everyone wants to go to their closest supermarket but dont get ripped off, not even now. The owners of this market have no shame and are way too greedy. They are not REAL New Yorkers, they do not care at all about the community!

Mi Gusta B.

Yelp
Rip off supermarket. The place is already expensive as it is, but they're also taking advantage of the Corona virus concerns. Paid $10 a can of lysol disinfectant. Disgusting. You try to support local establishments and they rip you off. At least in Costco or other large supermarkets, prices are consistent, they don't price gouge... Never supporting this place again.

Wendy F.

Yelp
Nice neighborhood supermarket that carries products more in line with Whole Foods, than a Stop N Shop. The supermarket displays The Food Emporium logo on its facade, so you'll find foods that are more gourmet than commercially known brands. There is convenient free parking in the lot across the street for Brooklyn Market shoppers. Products are nicely displayed and look pristine on shelves and baskets. Fruits individually wrapped or cradled with tissue paper. All of this attention to detail and selection of quality products will come at a cost when you reach the register. Prices are similar to what you'd expect in Manhattan, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for... There's no doubt one can find similar, or even the same, products elsewhere for less, but its presence contributes nicely to shopping options in the area.

Doug W.

Yelp
Be very wary of this establishment. Doesn't honor sale prices listed in its circular, and items scan at regular price. Filed a complaint with NYC Department of Consumer Affairs.

Kat B.

Yelp
Great selection of natural, organic, allergen-conscious (gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, vegetarian, etc.) and otherwise healthy foods, but steep prices.

Kevin E.

Yelp
I have been back many times since my initial review. I have noticed considerable effort from some staff to be more friendly, especially the lady I assume is the manager. I also seem to have better luck with sale items nowadays. This is now my go to grocery store, and I'm not saying that just because Shop Fair closed for renovation after several months of apparent neglect or my other one burning up in flames.

Rachel O.

Yelp
Dear Brooklyn Market, There were so many things that I loved about you. From your overly priced produce to your freshly baked bread. But after my last encounter, I can't help but to not want to return to you. What a shame. Last Thursday evening, I bought blueberries for $2. I know, super cheap right? I noticed the morning afterwards that they were rotten. Ok, I guess I should have known from buying $2 blueberries! Stupid me. On Saturday morning, I went to the store to ask if I could get a refund. The cashier asked me for a receipt and I said I didn't have it. The tall Arab worker, I'm guessing is the manager had such an attitude with me The nice cashier asked the maybe manager and he looked at me, dead in the eyes without any sympathy and said, "Without a receipt, you cannot get a refund." Ok store policy whatever but who the f*ck keeps a receipt for $2 blueberries from 2 days ago?!!! Like who?!!!! So emotional me, I quickly got upset because the guy was so rude about it and I said ok fine let me just get new blueberries, in which he agreed. Wow, how kind of him. I then proceeded to get 2 boxes of blueberries. I double checked and I squeezed the berries-- and of course, they were rotten. Ugh. So I went back to the cashier, really upset-- and I told the manager that the berries were rotten, blah blah. So I then asked, can I just get an item that was the same price as the berries? He then begins to say something absurd like "I hope they're a penny." I was like what the F*CK are you talking about? And then the cashier interrupted and said, "What she means is if she can get an item that was the same price as the berries." Sorry not sorry but you're a dumbass if you couldn't understand what I was trying to ask. Or maybe the guy was just so distracted at how emotional I was. Idk. I'm more upset about how the situation was handled more than anything. If the guy just nicely said, "Sorry miss but without a receipt, I can't give you your money back but you are more than welcome to get something else." That is excellent customer service right there. Everyone working here is always so friendly and sweet but I just hope I don't run into this guy. Or better yet, him run into me cause he's tall as F. Sincerely, Blueberry girl

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Based off customer service : after speaking with a manager hajer he issued a refund. Thank you again

Kasia D.

Yelp
They had distance 10ft away ... when normally is 6ft... I was about 5-6ft away from the person in front of me ... the cashier had told me "go to pink line" I had looked at her confused what she means (since last time there were black tapes on the floor) .... she stayed again with attidute "go to pink line" and I look around and siad ok one seck (I had put my stuff on the counter and had last one to put it out) ... when she had said she wont process my stuff because I'm rude ... I asked if I can speak to supervisor... she said she is the one ... thank I said fine ... I would like to speak to the owner of the store.. she said she is the one ... I have been coming to this store once a week for few years ... never before realized her around ... I said fine let me go to other line ... took my stuff and I was informed none of cashier will check my stuff out ... than she grab my cart with stuff and took it away from me ... very aggressive and rude ... I had informed her that I work in the hospital and hope one day I will receive her family member to treat... she started calling me psychopaths... I did record her ... than I was throw away from the store... People say we NURSES are HEROS ... especially when you getting to store after full shift of work... but when it comes to get your shopping done in this store they treat you like SH*** ... very disappointed.. never again will go there !!!! If anyone wants to see video I can send it privately....

Janette K.

Yelp
I had a very unpleasant experience here and won't be returning. Waited in line and there was only one line but two separate cashiers. A woman jumped the line at one of the cashiers and when I brought it up instead of the cashier defending and helping me he helped her. I don't give my hard earned money to businesses that treat me badly and neither should you. The woman behind me online said this happens every week and they need to get it together. There are better options in Bay Ridge and I will stick with them

Fannie R.

Yelp
I complained that a manager at this place treated me rudely. The general manager wrote to me stating that it's too bad their social distancing upset me. Implying im a jerk!! The original rudeness had nothing to do with social distancing. So general manager is rude too! Im shopping at Foodtown now. It's better and people are nicer.

Michael F.

Yelp
This is a great store. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Anytime i call in a order it is always ready and have never had a mistake. On to the important stuff the Butcher. I buy the thick cut porterhouses from the case usually 1 1/2" thick if they dont have any they will cut and trim them for me. I have had nothing but great steaks and will continue to buy from here. I always give any butcher or new local neighborhood spot i see a chance and have always come back to BK market.

Jane M.

Yelp
If you enjoy going to overpriced supermarkets, this place is for you! I came here as an alternative to going to Trader Joes because there are unfortunately none in Bay Ridge. There selection of organic greens is very limited. I thought there would be a lot of organic selections available but there is not a lot. Do not trust their awning that states organic. You can probably get the same stuff they sell here at a pathmark or shop rite for a lot cheaper. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because their cranberry walnut bread is amazing!!

Ms R.

Yelp
I stopped into the store today and as I scanned the quiche in the first aisle, I noticed mold. I proceeded to the bakery area and bought the apple and cheese strudel which turned out to be a pile of dough with a hint of apple and something white giving the impression of cheese. I suggest you don't waste your money on this. From my perspective, this store gives the illusion of being a specialty supermarket of better quality but, in fact, this is a basic supermarket that offers average to below average quality.

Jess L.

Yelp
Love this place, the food and people. Did not give 5 starts because they don't have chairs and tables for you to enjoy their hot food and Japanese sushi like Wholefoods Stores. If they do, it would be a perfect place!

Zobeida A.

Yelp
Brooklyn Market is one of my favorite stores in Bayridge, very organized and clean and everything is fresh and clean ,love all the staff very nice and friendly very fast service

Jason T.

Yelp
This is a good store and has been dependable for some time now. The deli department is excellent, perhaps the best I have ever seen in Bay Ridge outside the old meat stores. The bread and fish areas too are far above par for this neighborhood. The dairy section leaves a bit to be desired, I have taken home a bad yogurt or two, but regardless of refrigeration issues, the store as a whole is above standard. The cashiers are all friendly, but I cannot help but wonder if the tip jars at each of their stations are the reason. I do not want to be all Mr Pink when it comes to tipping, and I see the tip jars often appear nicely filled, it is just that I think that the owners are expecting the public to make up for their low balling on the employee salary. Should I tip a stocker if he helps me?

F D.

Yelp
The Brooklyn Market does not have plastic bags. It is the only Bay Ridge store with an excuse to be charging customers for reusable bags. In light of the prices charged, they should give the bags for free and get their act together to get plastic bags.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
The staff will not wear masks to cover their mouths and noses to protect customers from exposure to COVID. As an essential worker, I need to protect myself, my family, and also my patients. I've asked several times for the same 5+ workers to wear their masks- at times they will briefly cover nose and mouth until I pass, or simply refuse ("I can't breathe"). This is simply a public health risk.

Jim P.

Yelp
I just like this place for it's variety of options, including bread. I picked up on of the tastiest French Baguettes, which was about 26 inches long for $2.75. They always have interesting samples out, and their meat, fish and pastry counters are just a nice option when looking for something special.

Susan M.

Yelp
this is a store that 100% does not value their customers. they do not social distance. they bring in the next customer while you are putting your groceries away. and when you call to make a complaint they say 'i understand.' ?????? don't shop here. they don't deserve your business. they don't deserve you as a customer. do better for yourself as a shopper and go somewhere where there is reciprocal value.

Yvonne G.

Yelp
Really liked this place on my first visit. Lots of variety including a good deli dept. and bakery with fresh breads. Meats looked very fresh. If you buy $50 worth of grocery, they will deliver for free to your home. Loved the service. This will definitely be my go-to supermarket.

Anastasia P.

Yelp
Shopped there this past weekend and was asked by the casher if I was paying with food stamps. Don't know what made her assume I was...maybe because I'm Hispanic and you know, all minorities receive public assistance (sarcasm). I've never been asked my form of payment when checking out let alone asked if I was paying with food stamps. I was extremely offended. Just left me wondering if the White woman who was behind me was asked the same question...probably not. Do better.

Rima F.

Yelp
This is a wonderful supermarket if you happen to be in Bay Ridge. Its clean, spacious, beautifully arranged with quality products (some locally made) and the prices can't be beat. Its like a much better version of the Garden of Eden in Manhattan. The other day I bought a large old fashioned lemon crumb pie there for $4.99. Coffee beans were only $7.99/lb. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I'll be sure to stop by to stock up.

Etelvina C.

Yelp
Great local supermarket. Gourmet and speciality finds for foodies. The layout of the store is spacious and roomie

Josh B.

Yelp
This place used to have some great deals on rotisserie chicken and produce when they were still trying to gain market share in the neighborhood. It's clear that they're appealing to a new neighborhood demographic, which I don't hold against them. I used to come in here to buy one or two things and leave with ten because of the low produce prices especially. Prices have increased for whatever reason, and the deficiencies of the place as a whole are a turn off. I know I'll wind up shopping here again in the future, but only for very specific limited items. Pros: wide selection including many different kinds of pasta, chocolate, cheese, snack foods, nice selection of beverages and fresh juice Cons: Recent price increase on certain items, generally more expensive than other grocery stores in the area for frozen foods, cheese, eggs, and more, PRODUCE SCALE DOES NOT MATCH THE SCALE AT CHECKOUT

Matt D.

Yelp
Price gouging during a pandemic is a pretty despicable thing to do. Customers are better off going to any other grocery store.

Chris S.

Yelp
Great neighborhood grocery store with a large deli, baked goods, fish and butcher counters. They never seem to be crazy busy, apart from around the holidays, which is why I like this place. Staff are friendly and helpful and the store is clean and well stocked.

Gail V.

Yelp
I purchased this pumpernickel bread on May 25th with a "sell by" date of 5/31. Today, 5/28, the bread is covered with mold. (How do I post a photo?)

Martin W.

Yelp
This is not my usual supermarket but I needed certain spices that are not carried else where and decided to check this place out. I walked up a few aisles looking around and noticed very big differences in produce and certain items were 10 to 20% more here than in my local neighborhood. The spice aisle was fantastic and had spices from a to z which is quite excellent. Really in alphabetical order a to z. I really didnt have time to order these spices online and needed them like now. Well I got some coconut oil too which came in very handy. They have small selection of meat and seafood counter. Glad in my neighborhood they have more competition and I get way better prices with more choices.

Lauren F.

Yelp
I have been back, and forth with this place since they opened. I now go here quite frequently because they have improved their business standards as they did in the beginning. There pre made food is wonderful, my favorite is their vegetable dumplings. The selection of gourmet items is truly fantastic. The staff is quick to help you and they are very friendly! There have been more sales lately, and everything is clean, and organized!

Jason L.

Yelp
Passed by this place and noticed that it looked pretty nice from the outside. Decided to give this place a try. Nice how they got a parking lot across the street. My first impression after stepping into the market was that it was very neat and organized. They got a little of everything. Really like their bread section. A good selection of the different type of breads. I noticed that they have a lot of organic options but can be pricey. An extensive collection of spices. From regular ones to organic. Overall this is a nice market in the neighborhood of bay ridge. Good variety of healthy and organic items. Some stuff could be more pricey than other markets in the area while some are competitive. Just got to be aware of the prices.

Vicky S.

Yelp
Very family oriented supermarket. Everyone very friendly to help you find what you need. I love their bread and especially the walnut cranberry one. Pizza too is delicious! Nice fresh products!

Danielle M.

Yelp
started shopping here a few months ago until I bought an item from the frozen food section and it was thawed. luckily I was going to cook it that evening and i didn't freeze it, otherwise i would have never known and could have gotten sick from refreezing a thawed item. It's now become the place I ONLY go to for a last minute item, sugar, lemons, etc.... Again, days ago I picked up 2-3 items, including cookies that had expired over a month ago. brought it to the attention of the female worker and left them on the shelf. Buyer Beware!!

Yelp
I can only judge this place from the few short visits I've made. I get my groceries at the food coop in Park Slope. But I work near the Market some days and go for the kombucha and organic treats. They have kombucha! A large variety of organic dark chocolate along with many varieties of organic packaged goods. Yogurt, milk, cereal, lots of stuff. I have to agree with others, the produce is not wonderful. I've not been tempted to buy. But when you need a quick fix, like the small cans of low calorie High Brew coffee that are delicious, they got it!
