Had an amazing night at Tipsy! The vibe was on point great crowd, top-tier music, and just the right energy to keep the party going all night. The DJ really knew how to keep everyone moving with a perfect mix of hits and deep cuts. Drinks were strong and reasonably priced, and the bartenders were quick and friendly even when it got busy. The lighting and setup gave it a classy but fun atmosphere. Definitely one of the best spots to let loose and enjoy the weekend. Whether you’re going with friends or meeting new people, Tipsy is the place to be. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Tipsy offers a lively vibe with upbeat music, nice drinks, and a crowd ready to have a good time. It’s a fun spot for a nice night out, though it can get pretty packed. Perfect if you’re in the mood to let loose and enjoy the energy.

The customer service we received was EVERYTHING! Our waitress was attentive, responsive, and eager to make sure we were satisfied. Our food was hot and fresh. Our drinks were one and done (very good)! Vibes and music was lit. I will definitely come back when I'm in DC!

This place is hella popular but I’ve never understood why, I keep coming back because all my friends always wanna come here. The downstairs is more for eating, tables, and chilling, talking. And upstairs is darker, more music, people still eat upstairs but it’s more of a club vibe. I’ve never ordered food here, because whenever I look at others it does not look enticing at all. I will say it’s very gay friendly which is good. I think it’s small and I’ve never understood why we have a NY-Themed bar in DC.

Really great service from the moment you walk in the door. The ambiance was trendy, with a live DJ and fresh flowers adorning brick walls and wooden tables. The mac and cheese may be the best I've had in the city in years. Each of our seven entrees were tasty with standard portion sizes - we really liked that the salmon came with lentils. Our drinks were presented with floral garnishes or fresh cucumbers. Each had really robust flavor, so we probably drank more than intended, because every new drink brought to the table gave someone else cocktail envy. The prices were very reasonable. I would definitely return and recommend.

From the text back once I RSVP'd, to the prompt, professional and warm welcoming "welcome to BROOKLYN on U" the gentleman at the door displayed, we knew we were gnna have a great time. Reservations were needed fo' sure! Food was popping!! Get those Henny and Honey Jack wings fo' sho! Lol Music was on point. Speakers were better upstairs. The pineapple 🍍😍 drink was good, but $40 was a bit steep. Also, for $40, I was expecting for them to have been filled from the very bottom of the pineapple 🍍, not halfway, ya know? The waitresses are all beautiful, pleasant and professional!! Soo refreshing!! Upstairs also has reserved seating for dining, however, the bar area is free game . Definitely looking forward to returning!

I recently visited Tipsy Lounge, and I had an absolutely amazing experience! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and vibrant. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive making sure everything was perfect throughout the night. The drinks were top-notch—creative, flavorful, and perfectly mixed. The bartenders clearly know their craft and put a lot of care into each cocktail. The food was also delicious, with a great variety to choose from.🫶🏾 The overall vibe of the lounge was fantastic, with great music and a comfortable yet stylish setting. It’s the perfect spot to relax, enjoy good company, and have a great time. I’ll definitely be coming back soon! Highly recommend Tipsy Lounge for anyone looking for a fun and memorable night out

Everything was going well at this place until we realized we bought a watered down bottle of Patron. The waitress bought the bottle out and claimed she opened it in front of us(which she did not) and she poured us all shots of our bottle which I thought was inappropriate.I feel like she poured us drinks to hid the fact it wasn’t a fresh bottle. We never saw her open it and she lied saying she did.I bought several cups from the bar as well has two pitchers of mimosas and did not feel my drinks at all.Even when we started drinking the $300 bottle of Patron I did not feel the liquor at all.Food was good but do not buy alcohol here unless you want watered down liquor. We spend over $700 here for a party of 6 and that was not worth it, I will not be returning. The manager came up looking like a bodyguard asking what was wrong, at that point I didn’t want to be the typical black customer complaining so I told him nothing was wrong and that I will be writing a review to warn others.Make sure you see your waitress open your bottle to ensure your liquor hasn’t been tampered with.Black businesses please do better and stop scamming. Also if you order wings tell them you want them well done, my brothers henny wings were pink

Yelp
Food was ok. Service from the time we stepped in was not pleasant. It was 10 of us, so not sure if that was overwhelming to the establishment. We thought maybe the upstairs area where the music is actually coming from would be better, nope. Upstairs had 1 table occupied with appx 5 guests and now it's 8 of us only standing at the bar. Male bartender took our one drink order and never came back to us. Bartenders switched and the new female one never came over to us to see if we wanted another drink.. they were on their phones or brushing their hair near the bathroom the entire time.

Yelp
Upstairs doesn't have a lot of space at all...but I give 4 stars because the downstairs bartender was vibinnnnnn!!!! The decor on the wall was super cute for pics.

Yelp
This review is actually a little late, I almost forgot to write it until a friend just recently visited and had just as bad of a visit as we did. Visited in May to celebrate two friend's birthdays! We were checked at the door. Walked in. We all was just standing there. The "hostess" were too busy on their phones to do their job and assist us. The. They tried seating about 13 of us at a table that seated maybe 8 comfortable. Someone else had to come over to assist assuming a manager or owner, he had to basically tell her that didn't make sense, he himself moved tables around for us. Food was just ok. Drinks overpriced and not worth it. We went in stair because we heard music, it was empty. The bartenders were rude. Inattentive we just stood around trying to get friends because he was on his phone. The female bartender just stood by the bathroom brushing her wig. It was awful. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Waste of money. I only have two starts because the manager/ owner apologized.

Yelp
I came here with my coworkers, we had reservations for the Harlot but they had a gas problem in the kitchen so this restaurant was down the street. If you are looking to turn up for brunch, this is the place to visit. It is not that large but it is very comfortable. The service was good food came out in a timely manner. The food was pretty good and tasty. Stop by and check them out.

Yelp
I enjoy a good vibe and great food! This place is definitely a fun vibe for a large group or small group. The menu is huge and we had a little bit of everything. Totally forgot to include the fried shrimp but it was one of the best items we had! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the outside was crispy and seasoned. My second favorite dish was the Salmon Pasta. It was blackened and had a nice crisp on the outside. The inside was hot and cooked just over medium which is my preferred style! Our waitress was doing good until she got frustrated and her service started slacking. Her other tables couldn't figure out their tab and she took it out on all of her tables smh. I would go back again though because it's a fun brunch spot for a large group.

Yelp
Came here for brunch to celebrate a friends birthday along with a few others. Generally, if you make a reservation for a specific time and have to pay a deposit for the reservation, you generally expect for the table to be ready/available when you get there. Well, that was not the case here. Imagine having to wait outside on a bit of a breezy day waiting for your table at your reserved time to be available. Imagine waiting for a while... not a mere 10 mins or so. Also, strangely, while brunch is supposed to be all day here, they ran out of champagne relatively early in the day. Running out of champagne on a Sunday during peak brunch time doesn't really seem ideal and speaks to poor preparation or poor management, perhaps both. In this same vein, there was a bit of a struggle for clean silverware and champagne flutes. All of that being said, the manager did make efforts to rectify the various issues and the food was good. It's just unfortunate all of the other issues dampened the experience as a whole. I likely wouldn't come back for brunch.

Yelp
This was a cute gem that we found while looking for a brunch spot. I loved the decor and the music was really great. Its one of the few spots in the area that allowed walk-ins and wasnt booked up. We sat downstairs and ordered a few items. Mimosa's, bacon, french toast and chicken & waffles. Everything was really good and the staff checked on us often. I look forward to coming back in the spring and sitting on the patio.

Yelp
Came here for late Sunday birthday "brunch". It was sort of like brunch based on the food but because it was homecoming weekend we got our reservation pushed from 12 to 3 to 5 which I get but still weird. The food was served family style and was pretty solid. The chicken and waffles, salmon and the sliders stood out. Also, they kept us pretty well stocked with champagne and juices. The service was pretty on point and you can tell the staff are working their asses off. It was packed the whole time we were there. Definitely worth looking at, but maybe on a less busy weekend.

Yelp
Came here for Sunday brunch at the 1PM slot. We knew it wouldn't be that jumping at that time but they were playing Beyonce back to front so we were vibing. They didn't have bottomless but they did have $25 bottles of champagne (J roger) and one juice to accompany it. This was enough for me and one friend and our other friend got cocktails which turned out to be made with casa migos and $17 a drink lol. I got the steak and eggs and was very satisfied. We all enjoyed our food and the very nice decor. I'm sure later slots would be more of a turn up but I would recommend. Our server was really sweet and easy to hail her down.

Yelp
First timer at this cozy lounge, and it left a great taste on my pallet. From the beautiful bar beauties to wonderful brick oven treats everything was better than bar food. This two level establishment really serves up the party, with a live dj on both levels, cool photo ops and hookah. #enjoygoodpeople

Yelp
On my visit to DC I had brunch here and it was awesome food, service they even cared that my food was taking too long so the added wings to my order! The decor was cute also!

Yelp
The fries here are delicious. Perfect amount of crisp. The ambiance and aesthetic here is totally worth seeing. I think the weight staff and security are also very informative.

Yelp
Wings were great. Eggs blah, bacon to crispy. Do not get chicken and waffles. The waffles are very small and the chicken is small chicken strips. Our reservation was for 3pm. We did not get our food until 4:15. The bad part about it was that it all came out at different times. Bacon came out earlier than the wings. Then the eggs came out last and this was all after 4pm. The rest of my party did not get their food until 4:30pm. At 5pm they said we had to move because it was about to turn into a day party. However I thought it was a brunch day party. Doesn't make sense. They said they needed the table because people are about to buy bottles. They moved us to a small table for 7 of us. We literally could not even put our drinks down or plates to eat. FURTHERMORE ONE PARTY HAD A TABLE CLOTH AND FANCY MENUS WE DID NOT. I guess they pick and choose who can get an upscale experience.

Yelp
We came in here full, having just had brunch. However, we came for the ambiance and music which was great. We did order champagne and orange juice on the side, and it was tasty. I also ordered the dry rub wings which were delicious. There was a line outside so as to maintain a controlled crowd size I'd imagine, but it seemed that all the table were occupied. We waited about 30 minutes with no regrets. Although I do wonder why the line attendants always seem to take it a tad to seriously, IMO, exerting control somewhat. The line attendant here seemed more mellow, but carried the aurora of control nonetheless. I definitely enjoyed myself, the music and the server and highly recommend the wings. They were simply delicious.

Yelp
Brooklyn is so wack. A friend and I wait about 5 minutes (along with a group of men) to get inside. We don't have reservations so we sit at the bar down stairs. This bar is adjacent to the door so that means we're freezing. I decide to head upstairs to see what that bar is looking like and it's empty. Because I'm respectful or whatever, I ask the bartender is it okay if I sit. He says sit where you like. Cool. I call my friend to come upstairs. Friend is waiting for a date to arrive and he's standing in line to get inside. Door guy does not let him in. Says everything is reserved. Que? I was just told to sit wherever. So we leave. Cause Brooklyn is trying to make their establishment something that it's not. Stop trying to make fetch happen LOL. I tell the door man you'd rather your bar sit empty than have people order drinks and spend money? Especially since 2/3 people of the group is already inside Make it make sense.

Yelp
Forgot to take a picture. My friends and I got to Brooklyn right when they opened the upstairs. We had the opportunity to select our own seats at the bar. It was Sunday football. The bartender was on point and made certain we were taken care of. I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Dry as hell! Charged $500 for bottle service only to try and kick us out within an hour to make room for an empty lounge lol make it make sense. Food was good shrimp salmon pasta coulda had more shrimp. Music is trash. Go elsewhere with better VIBES and service

Yelp
Heard about this place for months now. Glad I got to finally check them out. Chill vibes and decent drinks. Definitely some eye candy (the bouncers). Located right next to Amsterdam. This venue has two levels. There's hookah (upstairs). The first floor has the backdrop with "Brooklyn" (great photo opp). I liked the Brooklyn inspired drinks (Crown Heights, Wingate). I may come back but not pressed. I didn't like the automatic gratuity they included (I wasn't at a table). I was literally standing at the bar.

Yelp
I hosted a friend birthday party at Brooklyn on U last weekend so my review is for my experience on a Friday Night during happy hour. I spend so much time on U street that I've always wanted to check this place out! I was under the impression it was a black owned spot but not entirely sure as I've heard they are making some changes and in transition. So, let's start with the good: Prior to our visit, I arranged table/dinner reservations with the Friday promoter. He reserved two dinner booths for the birthday party. When I met him , he was very friendly and accommodating. I was able to bring balloons into the lounge as well. It was definitely a nice touch. Next, it's a beautiful space. The lower level is more of the bar, Dj area, and dining room. This is where the after work happy hour jumps off. There is a "Brooklyn" greenery wall near the DJ booth and it's an excellent place to take pictures. I would recommend everyone getting a picture there! Brooklyn on U has happy hour deals and you can get anything from pizza, to chicken wings, and tacos. I appreciated how our server allowed for everyone to have separate checks (I requested that upfront) by taking everyone's credit card. The dj playing during happy hour is very good. We all were dancing, dropping it low , and celebrating our friend birthday. After 10, the 2nd level opens up and it turns into more of a club. You truly feel like you are in a different place and in a nightclub. There is ViP, dance floor and another bar. When I went up there for a second, it was pretty packed and people were drinking and enjoying themselves. Now to the not so good: I ordered the sangria pitcher which was on happy hour. I was disappointed because it wasn't good at all. You couldn't taste ANY alcohol and you definitely were not getting a buzz off of it. Next, I ordered old bay and buffalo wings. When they arrived, they looked good but they were so bland and where was the seasoning.?!! They were so horrible. I almost sent them back. I was definitely still hungry after I left. I think our server was overwhelmed (Francisco ?) that I had to remind him to bring stuff I ordered. I deducted star because this place doesn't go tasty food. So, here is when the nights gets bad. Brooklyn on U doesn't have coat check so I put my coat in the booth. I'm getting ready to leave and my coat goes missing. I asked the bouncers and bartenders if someone turned in a coat to no avail. I search the bar area and NOTHING. So, essentially, I left with no coat in the cold. I kept calling the establishment over the next five days. No one answered the phone. In addition, to that, I went to Brooklyn on U Instagram page and direct messaged them and no response. Yet, someone was creating stories and making posts. Also, I texted the phone number that was on the voicemail and again,crickets.... All I wanted was a response to see if anyone turned it in or if the establishment has cameras. Finally, after I commented on a IG post and a week later, the response to my missing coat was "I'm not sure. You are welcome to stop by and check." To make matters worse, I went in yesterday and sure enough the coat was found in the front of the bar. Could no one check or respond to messages during the week and advise me it was there? Because of this, I deducted stars because customer service doesn't to be their niche. So, if you want a sexy spot on U street to take pictures and dance, this is definitely one of the classy and bigger establishments on the U street corridor.

Yelp
The ambiance is really cute and fun. The service was good but the food is very average. I got the fried chicken Benedict and my friend got the steak and eggs. Both were just okay.

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Went to brunch for my bff bday worst service I received in a long time. Idk if the waiter was tired, high / drunk or all of the above but she did not really what to be there that day.. Barely checked on us and just didn't want to be attentive.. I feel like the hype I was told about this place was a lie. Asked for lemon drops and was served cheap liquor that when we left we all were sick off of.. So thanks for that. I feel like when you speak up for certain services no matter how nice you try some people when try to get back at you for it and they did.. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Yelp
Brooklyn on your hosted the first DC Black Girls Brunch! It was a sold out event and amazing. The food they served was great, and for a black event, you always worry how the chicken and waffles will be for brunch. I think they did a pretty good job, however. One thing I was not a fan of was the grits, I am VERY picky though so this could just me a me things as well. The drinks are made strong and well so I was please about that. A Hendricks tonic was about 16 after group gratuity and wax were added. But if you would like brunch with your tribe, a cute instagramable place with good food and even better drinks you may wanna come here.
google avatar

Jordan S.

Yelp
Maybe the best thing about this place is vibes There's deals on drinks and a fire DJ during brunch so if you want a fun boozy brunch this is it. I don't think they do bottomless mimosas (or I don't remember) because we got the deal on champagne that comes with juices of our choice. We did orange juice and a pineapple juice to make our own mimosas‍ none of us planned to drink much so it worked out. The food is pretty pricey but standard I guess for brunch. It may have been $17-$20something for my French toast. It tasted good so no complaints on food. Overall I think this is a safe bet for brunch, but I plan to keep exploring other places

Yelp
My cousin had her birthday dinner here-- a new, trendy spot on the popular U Street corridor. Parking is rough as always on U, so I decided to Lyft. When I arrived, the exterior of the building is white and at the door are 2 entrances with an outside seating view of U Street (Only 3 stools) This place is 2 floors so the downstairs is pretty posh and has plenty of seating. The table I was dining with was upstairs where there were several tv's and a DJ. Loved the music! I wanted to dance before placing my food & drink order lol. I reviewed the menu prior and honestly had no clue what I was going to order. Based off the mixture of reviews and not a lot of healthy seafood options made it difficult to make a decision but to my surprise when I arrived, there were several new items on the menu that made my decision easier! I was torn between the blackened shrimp salad and the shrimp & grits but since I knew I was going to have a cocktail, I decided on the shrimp & grits just to have something heavier on my stomach. From the cocktail menu, I ordered the Brooklyn 1914 which ended up tasting like an Old Fashioned. When my meal came out, it was about 6-8 shrimp and a lot of corn and asparagus. Very tasty but at the same time, VERY gritty and soup-like. I've had shrimp & grits many times before with a thicker consistency but never had to actually pick out grit from my teeth after (in the ladies room of course) Some of the ladies at the table ordered the blackened shrimp salad and the others ordered the salmon. Everyone enjoyed their meals and drinks. After 1030pm, the millennials start to come in, crowd the bar area, chairs & tables are taken away so it becomes a club at that point, it was then time to go lol. I will definitely come back in the evening hours because I do want to try the blackened shrimp salad and the pizza looked great! Best of all was the music, ample seating and great service!

Yelp
What a jumping hot spot on U street!! Stopped in on a Sunday after leaving on non jumping brunch spot close by we were advised to drop by for some music. Initially walking in I didn't know what to expect. Really cute place with nice funky decor with nice staff. Once we reached the top of the stairs things turned into a full blown day party with a loud DJ, flashing lights, smoke machines, people dancing everywhere, the place was packed at 4pm! Not sure if this is a thing each & every Sunday after brunch and didn't even stay long but it was definitely a great place to have good time & good music. I am excited to go back and check out the menu.

Yelp
Visited on a Saturday at about 1pm. Loved the vibe. The service was great. The fried shrimp are bomb! Was blown that we couldn't get hookah until 5pm. But I'd visit again.

Yelp
Visited from Baltimore and came across this place looking for a quick bite to eat. Wifey and I shared a pitcher of Hennessy sangria, jerk bbq wings and shrimp tacos. Everything was great. Our server Samira took good care of us and told us to come back for nightlife. So glad we did and thank you again Samira

Yelp
Brooklyn on U is cozy, cute and fun. Perfect for date or for a small group of friends. A group of 4, we dined for a friend's birthday. It was Tuesday evening so there wasn't much people which made it a perfect opportunity for engaging with the staff. They were friendly, attentive and made great suggestions. They unfortunately were out of the curry (which they are most popular for) so no curry chicken pizza or curry chicken dish. For dinner we nibbled on the Pesto Pizza, Wings and Fries, and the Perfect girl had the salmon. All of which were very tasty. Venue has great wine selection! I'll be back on a busier night to gauge if the service is still stellar and of course, for the curry chicken pizza!

Absolutely overrated sucked. Service was no good over priced. Definitely would not recommend take your great energy and vibes other people.

Yelp
Brooklyn on U was such a fun vibe for "Sunday Funday!" DJ Pryme had the music crankin. They served brunch all day along with a $25 bottle of champagne for the mimosas. My friends and I got steak & eggs with tots for our entree. We asked for our steak medium well but both of our steaks were well done and a bit tough, but we still ate it lol The wings and fried shrimp were delicious. I definitely can't wait to visit Brooklyn again.

Yelp
I was bar hopping and needed some food to absorb the liquor. Fortunately, I stumbled upon Brooklyn on U. The host welcomed me with a smile and menu. The venue serves standard bar fare. The ambiance was intimate with dim lighting. Nothing to brag about but I don't have any complaints.

Yelp
The best part about this spot was the waffle from the chicken and waffles. It tastes like a sugary donut turned waffle, soo good. Otherwise, everything else was mediocre. There's an upstairs and downstairs, to confirm your eventbrite reservation you have to text a number, there's no way to know if you'd be seated upstairs or downstairs prior. Not sure what the vibe is like upstairs but downstairs was pretty boring. It's just a restaurant that's trying to be like a club vibe which is weird because that makes the service and experience suck. The waitresses are dressed like bottle girls and waitressing isn't their strong suit (no offense). It's just weird. The waitress/bottle girl was not in the mood from the very beginning, she was annoyed and unpleasant. Our margarita pitcher literally tasted like poison and with a straight face she tasted and said it was fine. Ultimately the bartender fixed it and made it drinkable. They said they ran out of Champagne Flutes but they had a larger table of friends who got flutes after our table of 3, so we had to drink mimosas from clear plastic cups...ghetto. The music was alright. Ok if you want to go on a normal day for shits and giggles, not for special events. Very mediocre experience especially for a birthday in my opinion.

Michael P.

Yelp
Took the metro all the way from foggy bottom to try this place. The website said they were open but when we got there it was closed and looked like it had been for hours.

Shantal R.

Yelp
Wings weren't completely done pink inside. They also advertise having a pitcher of Hennessy sangria on sale for happy hour but then say it's not available only a margarita and house vodka pitcher for $30.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night completely unplanned. I was visiting DC and decided to check out U Street but also was kinda hungry by the time I made my way to the area. Walking past here, I saw they had some happy hour specials and decided to stop and check them out. Definitely a fun spot to stop into. They have a bar and some booth seating. A DJ was present and the music was great. We ordered buffalo wings and and chicken tacos from the happy hour menu which we were satisfied with at the moment. Pretty sure the tacos were better than my wings. We also ended up ordering 2 pitchers of the Henny Sangria, which I actually enjoyed because I don't usually like Hennessy. Our waiter was great. It seemed like he might have been the only one at the moment, which can be overwhelming, but he handled everything well with the crowd present.

Yelp
I'll change my rating later depending on when I go back to actually try the food. This venue is really nice on the inside. You pretty much eat downstairs and party upstairs. Like all bars on Ust It isn't that big but it's doable. What I didn't like is that o paid $15 for a watered down drink. Other than that, for now I'll go back just off the good vibes the place gave off.

Yelp
BOU was one of the places to stop on the Margarita March. I enjoyed the margarita and also had a chance to try some wings and truffle fries. Everything was pretty good and the service was good too. But $4 for a ginger ale? Yikes! haha. The place is right across the street from Ben's Chili bowl and offers both a downstairs and upstairs bar. Idk if it was due to the event happening but there was a DJ that was actually playing some decent music. The aesthetic is also nice as well, there this dope wall that is a really cool back drop for photos. I wouldn't mind returning to this location and dining in when it's less hectic.

Yelp
Good music ! Good food ! Good drinks! Nice atmosphere .... a change from the typical "DC VIBE" and they have WINGGGSSSSSS !!! Yup lol The weekend is a nightclub lounge style UPSTAIRS! but It's still a classy vibe TIP: make a reservation if you're coming to eat on weekends .... it's a small space for dining so that's you're best bet but outside of that it's a cool spot! Can't wait for the happy hour

Yelp
So I'll start at the beginning, went here on a Saturday night for girls night not too crowded I wasn't mad at that. I made reservations for 9:30 there was no hostess at the front we had to ask security where the person was so we could be seated. Finally somebody came by and seated us, the first server we had he was all over the place. The place is fairly new so we didn't take it personal. The next server we had was great! Her name is Ivy she was very sweet and answered any question we had with a smile on her face. Now to the food, I ordered the Fried Chicken with Mac n cheese and mumbo sauce. The food was good but the Mac n cheese was super cold which I was confused about cause you could see the steam from the chicken. I told Ivy and she took care of it immediately and let the cook know. My best friend ordered the wings and Mac n cheese. Her Mac n cheese was cold as well but she ate it since she was hungry. Unfortunately her wings took over 30 minutes to come out. Our server Ivy once again took care of it and kept checking on her food and following up with the kitchen staff. When she got the wings she enjoyed it. All in all I enjoyed my experience there, a few kinks need to be worked out but again this place is fairly new. Nice atmosphere to take cute Instagram pics with good food to match.

Yelp
Mediocre food, poorly "crafted" drinks and disorganized service - disappointing for a place with so much hype! I was really excited to try this place, being from NY & craving Brooklyn-style pizza for so long; but this place didn't do Brooklyn justice at all. The setup of the restaurant started off pretty odd, with a tight walkway cramped by a bar to the left and a staircase to the right. The seating is mostly wooden "Brooklyn-style" restaurant booths and some high tops. There were also some floating candles and flowers in circular vases that felt like they were stolen centerpieces from a wedding. The faux grass wall is #aesthetics and insta-worthy but it didn't seem to fit the overall interior design of the restaurant (which was rustic with brick walls and traditional wood panels) Ok sorry, now ON TO THE FOOD - I came here for dinner on a Thursday night a month after the restaurant's grand opening. The wings were eh, a bit light on the sauce and overall nothing too great (blue cheese was also watery and pretty tasteless). The pizza did not resemble Brooklyn pizza, crust was thick and still undercooked when it was served. The bottom of the pizza was white with flour all over. My bourbon cocktail tasted like a cheap cocktail mix but it was strong so I guess that's a win. On the service, the staff walked out with our dishes and had to circle the floor multiple times before they found our table. This happened with both the wings & the pizza. It didn't seem like an organized system and my food was getting cold!!! 2/5 stars for Brooklyn - I hope you'll improve!

Yelp
Hey I think it's worth coming back once they have a happy hour. Only open for a week so some fine details were missed such as forgetting to put bacon on the side as requested or forgetting the mambo sauce. Also, pricing is a tad excessive so happy hour would be great. The cocktails are inventive, the food is very tasty, kitchen was a bit slow, and the FOH staff was adequate

Yelp
This bar has a nice set up. I like it's New-Yorkesque vibes. There are two floors and they are pretty roomy. The upper walls are covered with artificial boxwood, which makes for a visually pleasing selfie background and gives off a very millennial vibe. The boxwood is decorated with multicolored neon signs reading "Brooklyn" and "It was all a dream." There is a DJ on the weekends and the music is okay. It's pretty low-key and that's what I like about this place. You can come here to have a vibe without being in a chaotic environment. The food here is good. It's a pizza joint, however the menu offers options such as truffle fries and Maryland crab cake. I personally didn't eat anything -- I came for drinks -- but from what I saw and heard, the food was good. The drinks here are good. The prices are pretty average for D.C. Oh, and I appreciated that the service was pretty good even when they got busy. I will definitely be returning to this bar, it's a cute little spot on U Street. I'll be sure to update my review when I try the food and different drinks.

Yelp
Sunday Funday is the expectation but it was very mediocre:( There was no one to check us in, but security we had no idea if we was upstairs or downstairs. Once seated, they sat in the middle of everything on the first floor, we ordered $25 Champagne but they had no flutes clean, we ordered our food my Salmon was cooked perfectly. But they ordered the kale salad and it was not pleasing to them needed more dressing or something they didn't enjoy

Yelp
This was my first time being in Brooklyn for brunch/day party. It was not my favorite place to be, however how I made the best of my time. The food wasn't that good. Everything felt very rushed and the staff definitely wasn't the nicest. I understand the 90 min rule especially in a time of a pandemic, but I feel like they could have made that process way more smooth. Basically pushing us out the door as we're waiting for our checks makes me never want to go back.

Yelp
So this review is mainly based on the food. I decided to check out Brooklyn On U like many others because it's black owned (so I heard). The venue itself is really pretty. It's kind of refreshing to have this sort of spot on U St. the greenery walls and bright lights really set the mood for this spot. Also, they have large TVs everywhere. The venue is two floors. The first floor is more of a bar scene where the upstairs is a lounge. Also, there is a huge garage door in the front that opens up and allows fresh air to filter through the bar. The venue is really nice, in my opinion. Now for the food. It's not good. I ordered fried chicken and macaroni & cheese. You get two large pieces of chicken. The chicken tasted like cardboard, almost as if they just dropped the chicken in the batter and fried it with no seasoning. It was really gross. Also, if you're going to have fried chicken on your menu, let's have better hot sauce options. Tabasco isn't cutting it. The macaroni and cheese literally tasted like powdered cheese and bread crumbs. It was just not great. It was thick and after while it just stuck to my plate. The worst part about the chicken is the mumbo sauce. I'm from the DMV and whatever creation they pulled together and decided to call it mumbo sauce was off-putting. My friend also ordered calamari and shrimp. That wasn't good either. It's like they keep frying food without seasoning it first. Even after squeezing lemons all over the calamari, it still lacked flavor. The drinks here are a little over priced, but that's typical for DC. Cocktails are about $14-$17 and wine is around $10 (not that bad). The menu offers a lot of different options, there is really no cohesiveness or theme. They are offering pizza, curry chicken, calamari, fried chicken, bruschetta, it's kind of all over the place. I am giving this spot 3 solid stars. The music is good and the venue is nice so I would come back for drinks and a good vibes. Wouldn't eat here again. Photos attached of food.

Yelp
Went here for the first time a week ago and had a great time! We went to just grab a drink and ended up buying a bottle of wine. Pizza (which was so great, hot and fresh). And the chicken and waffles you see pictured below. The Dj's were great and had the party turnt up the entire time. I'll definitely be going back and would highly recommend them. The staff was great and the food portions were huge. The drinks were a little pricey but I expect that in DC which is why I brought a whole bottle. Lol. I never made it upstairs because the party downstairs near the food was great. Lolol. Me and hubby left full and happy.

Yelp
This place was very dissatisfying my food was overcooked we had bottomless mimosas and the drink was not good they slip on bottle between two drinks. The waiter did not check on us periodically like she was suppose to then we never started the bottomless when we came in the door only got 3 rounds for 90 minutes and we was done with the bottom but the waiter was terrible. I would not recommend this place at all. The owner had to keep tell the waiter what to do.

Yelp
Bartenders in this establishment have very poor customer service skills very rude and smart mouthed. The bar makes any night spot. The ones at Brooklyn are definitely holding it back from becoming a staple of DC like a Park or Rosebar.
