"There’s nothing original or quaint about Brooklyn Roasting Co - (they’re all over the city) but they actually roast the beans at the Dumbo location, so it’s huge, industrial-feeling, and smells great all the time. And since it’s in Dumbo, you should probably take advantage of some sort of view of the river and bridges before or after your coffee." - hannah albertine

It is a gem among coffee shops. From their exceptional coffee and friendly staff to their commitment to sustainability, they have created a truly remarkable establishment. I highly recommend paying them a visit if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed! The cozy ambiance of the café provided the perfect setting to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy some quiet time with a good book. The colorful decor and comfortable seating added to the overall charm of the place.

Best cup of coffee I’ve ever had… and that’s high praise because I am an avid coffee drinker. I got the fall special.. it was called maple something.. my partner doesn’t enjoy coffee and even he couldn’t stop drinking it! The black and white cookie and the olive oil cake was delicious too. Had to buy some coffee beans to bring back home! They will kindly grind them for you in the store at your desired ground level.

Everything was pretty good! Can’t complain. I like it. Just overall NYC “customer service” could be better :)

Great coffee! Very nice staff. Easy to find. They used to have a much larger place down by the pier. Amazing space. This was small but cozy..

Great decor and good espresso!

I ordered iced vanilla latte and it was good. Nice quiet cafe just beside the library. Worked in the morning while having coffee. Extra points for having charger points.

Google
For the love of God; please address your cup situation. You are the only good coffee shop in the area, but your cups consistently leak, to the point many of my colleagues refuse to bother with your shop.

This is a perfectly adequate spot for some coffee. It’s going to be significantly better than Starbucks or anything like that, but for the price there are definitely better options in the neighborhood. They are wicked expensive, and the coffee was not really worth the premium price they charge. Good if you’re in the area, but could be worth checking out other spots

Yelp
Visiting my son in Brooklyn and found this great coffee place on my way to Dumbo. Excellent Americano and was able to get out of the freezing wind & cold. Best music playing inside added to the experience.

Yelp
I could have sworn I already wrote a review for the Brooklyn Heights location of the BRC but as I absolutely adore this cafe and staff, I am happy to write another well-deserved 5-star review for them. The cafe is on a quiet stretch of Clinton St, right behind the library. The space is fairly big and there always is seating available. Their coffee is great and they also sell a ton of different blends (my favorites include their Iris and their Japan blends!) in store and online too. But, I am quite partial to their teas, which is sourced from Serendipitea. There's free wifi and some delicious snack options too, making this an excellent spot to catch up on a little reading or work. PS- Found my original review: BRC continues to absolutely kill it. The staff here are the literal best and more people need to visit this amazing little cafe instead of the soulless Starbucks and Blank Street on Montague. Let me set the scene: I came in looking like I just survived a tornado, carrying books and a bottle of cough syrup I just bought from CVS the next street over because I forgot to bring a reusable bag. It's day 2 of this terrible cold I've just caught and I stumbled in looking for maybe something warm to drink. I ask if they have tea, and the barista (whom I've forgotten to ask for her name because I was very under the weather) takes one look at the cough syrup in my hand and suggests tea. There's no tea menu so I ask what kind of tea they have and she says she'll make me a ginger tea and add some lemon juice and honey to it. Two bags of delicious, warming, soothing ginger tea from Serendipitea at no extra charge with some extra vitamin C from the lemon juice. She even filled my thermos with hot water so I could refill my tea for the rest of the morning while I cranked out some papers. I felt like I was just thrown a lifesaver and was now pulled to safety. I'm devoted to this cafe FOR LIFE. Seriously guys, this place is incredible and not just for their coffee but for the human touch. Keep it up BRC, y'all are the best!

Yelp
Stopped by for a cold brew after a humid walk across the bridge. The cold brew was decent but nothing spectacular. Fairly spacious interior with lots of AC!

Yelp
My office uses beans from Brooklyn Roasting and I really enjoy their coffee! My favorite one so far has been the Mexico beans. Also got a great latte here. The barista is very nice and the shop has a really cozy vibe with calm music. Probably would be a good spot to get some work done.

Yelp
Funny location, kind of hidden behind the library, but surprisingly spacious once you're inside. Lots of tables and seats with power outlets! Accessible gender neutral restroom in the back. The service is spectacular and the espresso is perfectly prepared. They have a great selection of sweets, though unfortunately none of the sandwiches are vegetarian. Protip: if you're here near the end of the day, you might get a pastry for half price (if they have any left!).

Yelp
On my recent NY trip my friends and I were excited to go and see the Brooklyn Bridge. Somehow we ended up on the wrong side for our start point. It ended up being a good thing because it put us right down the road from an Brooklyn Roasting Company location. Ambiance/vibe - The location was tucked in right next to the Brooklyn Library. It was bright, colorful, and so cozy. The branding was also adorable. Staff - The two people working counter were nice and helpful. They seemed to be having such a positive time which made the whole place brighter. Food - There were not a ton of food options, and we did not get to try any of the snacks they had Drinks - with the cold temperatures and having just had coffee an hour before, our entire group opted for hot chocolates. I went with their special strawberry hot chocolate with an added single shot of espresso. It was the perfect drink to warm up. It was subtle and not too overpoweringly sweet. Overall I would give this shop a 4/5 s. The vibe was truly everything. I honestly can't wait to get the chance to go back one day and also try some of their coffee drinks.

Yelp
Wanted to sit and relax with an iced coffee but the lady working said she was cleaning the espresso machines. So essentially the cafe was closed... 40 minutes before closing. If you want to close at 4, just put that as the hours. Don't say it's 5 but your espresso is done for the day at 4:20.

Yelp
Nice cozy spot to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee! Loved the old tables and art on the wall. You can't see the shop off the main road it's just in the back.

Yelp
Used to love this place. Good coffee, decent service. But, there are a million places that do that. What set this place apart was the lunch options. They had these lunch sized pot pies that were awesome, but they don't have them anymore, so i stopped going. Now they're just another coffee shop with decent branding.

Yelp
My go to pretty much everyday! Anything I try there from coffee to pastries is always delicious. Friendly stuff, clean place and you never have to wait too long to be served.

Yelp
I used to 'live' at the Brooklyn Roasting Company in Dumbo, pre-pandemic, and was thrilled when a branch opened behind the library in Brooklyn Heights, 100 yards from my apartment. Even though I make coffee at home, I always head over to this cosy spot. Great coffee of course, with a good variety of sweets and savories, but I mostly go for the staff, who are out of this world patient and friendly. They are very kind when large groups of students burst in, as well as to the rest of us. It feels like an old-fashioned cafe, in that I have met people to talk to about books and art, and chatted with visitors from foreign lands (Denmark, Colorado, Manhattan :) ...Once again, the baristas and managers create a wonderful atmosphere.

Yelp
If you are looking for a local coffee shop with a friendly Brooklyn vibe this place is it. The variety of coffees served are seasonal and change frequently. The staff is friendly. There is a clean restroom. I have become a rgular there and am happy to sit inside or at a table outside.
