I'm on the hunt for a great pizza place, and after trying Brooklyn South Pizza, I'm still looking. Pizza choice is very personal, of course, so I encourage you to give BSP a try.
I had a large pizza with 4 toppings, pepperoni, mushrooms, peppers, and onions. The base pizza was just under $18, each add-on was about $3.75; I paid just over $38 - quite high for a large 18"pizza I thought.
The pizza was good. The crust was excellent. The sauce was unremarkable, but ample. There wasn't much cheese on it, and I was particularly disappointed that each of the 12 slices only had 2 rounds of pepperoni. Only some 24 pieces on an 18" pizza? That seems particularly stingy compared to other pepperoni combo pizzas I've had. The peppers and onions were similarly scattered, although I didn't care about it as much as I did the meat. I guess next time I'd pay double for double pepperoni to get what I consider ample coverage.
The Brooklyn South Pizza workers were extremely polite and customer oriented, and the place was hopping on a Sunday evening, with some dozen and a half pizzas waiting for pick-up and the phone constantly ringing. Clearly BSP has a following.
This is a take-out place only, there is a long bench for waiting, but no dining in. BSP: good but not great, and expensive.
