Great venue. Saw Crane Wives there last night. Sounds and lighting were on point all night. Christina Baines opened and was also terrific. Staff was friendly and worked well with everyone. Several good spots to get above the crowd a little bit to have a view from the back.

My first concert ever. Tennis. Still my favorite concert to this day. I remember the line moving smoothly and it being organized. The venue was simple and clean, and I will definitely be back I watched Djo perform here as well. One of my favorite performances

Google
Saw OK Go at Brooklyn Steel and had an amazing time. The industrial space is perfect for live shows—great sound, killer lights, and a confetti-filled finale that lit up the crowd. The two-level layout gives solid views throughout. Entry was smooth and staff were friendly. Only downside: 1. drinks are outrageously priced—$6.50 for water. 2. The warmup band performance takes 1 hour and really not that great.

Came here to see DJO in concert and the experience was amazing! We got to buy merchandise before the concert started so it made it a lot easier leaving. The venue was really clean and spacious, it never felt overwhelming to be in the pit. The staff were all really friendly and professional. I'd definitely come back here!

Google
If you like industrial spaces, bare bones comforts, and since of the best music in the world, then you're in luck! The sound is always really great and the acts are also fun. The drinks are about as pricey as anywhere for live shows. And there's a balcony of your unafraid of heights. You should go.

Google
Just there for the annual Cheesemongers Invitational. Perfect venue for putting the rockstar into the cheese shop vibe. Good facilities and the stage is visible from all spots on the floor and balcony. Multiple bars for the thirsty.

Google
Awesome venue! The upstairs viewing area is great and sounds wonderful. Easy entry and exit. Convenient location. Very cool motif. Bathrooms kept clean. Bar staff friendly and quick with drinks. I would come back here.

Google
Went here for the first time to see Ravenscoon and was pleasantly surprised with how nice this venue is. The security up front is friendly, the venue is spacious with a spaced out feel (up front by stage, further back by the bar and the overlooks, a vip balcony, an extra bar outside by the bathrooms), the lighting and sound was well done, and the bathroom even had a bathroom attendant and a plethora of stalls (nothings worse than waiting in line when you just need to use the bathroom quick at a show). There’s even limited seating along the back wall and easy to find parking around the venue. Oh and there’s fans up above to keep the room cool. Definitely will be back in the future.

Yelp
About as far as I'd ever want to go for a concert venue. Waiting in line was painless (well, ok, it was raining but that's not their fault). People get tagged coming in, so under-21s (or if you forget your ID) will get "X" hands for the night. And maybe longer, who knows. It's nice and hollowed out inside. Bars worked pretty well, gave us cups of water - great service there. Bathrooms seemed to work well (friend testimony). Friendly crowd, held spots for people without issue. Good sound, perfect volume and mix the whole time - 5 stars for sound engineers. The only downside to my night was no mosh pits (not a heavy enough band I guess). Verdict: If I lived in NYC, this would be on my list of venues to track for my concerts.

Yelp
Decent size, easy location for on street parking (if you're early enough.) The line was only about 8 people deep when we arrived. Part of our crew stood in line while the other half crossed the street and hit 18th Ward Brewing up. Like the proximity here (also when we exited instead of waiting in the long bathroom line at BS we went back to the 18th Ward! Pro tip!) Clean venue, nice staff. We were right up against the barricade in the front. Which meant the photographers were the only ones between us and the stage. The photographers were intense! Security and photographers handed out free waters to patrons (never seen this before but they stated they want to keep people hydrated to cut down on any medical issues.) Overall good experience for a show. Souls of Mischief, The Pharcyde and Cypress Hill crushed it!

Yelp
I came here for the first time to see Future Island back in 2022. Parking was tough because there was no parking when we got there. So we ended up parking in some random parking lot and ended up losing our car but that's not the point. So we when got to Brooklyn Steel, we were welcomed by a lot of people! The venue was so damn packed. You know there are many Future Island fans! Check in process was as easy as ever with just the security guard looking at me and my purse and I was in with my friend! They scanned our passes too to for the concert. Before we settle in the venue, we passed by the bar and it was damn packed. So hard to get your turn unless you keep scolding them or make yourself be heard. I was waiting patiently but was ignored by the bartender until I tried to push myself to the front so the bartender can notice me and my friend. We ordered IPAs to get started. Then we went inside the venue and it was not a big stage and it was just lots of flooring so everyone had to basically stand. Too bad I was so damn short so going to venues where I have to stand is just not worth it and a nuisance. Luckily I got to squeeze myself a good spot because my friend and I were the early ones. We also got to see the openers. Then when Future Island came on, everyone cheered and you can feel and hear the bass and guitar in your heart and ears. It was a nice concert and they played quite a lot of songs and had medleys of songs to finish the night. Throughout the concert, I moved around a bit to get a better view because everyone was so damn tall but it was alright because you can still hear them perform all around us. They sang so good and was in tune the whole time. Such a great crowd and very energetic and lively audience. I had so much fun and will return back to that venue for another concert.

Yelp
If you're like me and love attending music concerts but despise the overcrowded, oversold venues, then Brooklyn Steel is your go-to spot. Arriving early here can secure you a prime location without needing a VIP ticket--I managed to grab a great spot in the balcony area.
google avatar

Yelp
I found myself at Brooklyn Steel to see one of my favorite synthwave groups, The Midnight. After 2+ years of pandemic, I have really been looking forward to attending a concert again - so when I learned they were doing a North American tour, I jumped on those tickets. Since I had never been to this venue before, I was also looking forward to checking out a new place, so after grabbing some food nearby, I made my way over. As the name suggests, Brooklyn Steel used to be a steel manufacturing plant, and as such the look and feel of the space is inspired by its original use. We were queued outside where they checked IDs and provided wristbands if you were 21 or older. The venue has three bars - one in the main lobby upon entry, one on the main floor, and one upstairs on the balcony. The space is pretty well organized with clear markings leading to the balcony and the main level. The entire venue is standing room only, and depending on crowds it can get a bit tight - but the space is vast so if you're not looking to get all the way to the stage you can easily find room on the sides and the back to stay. They have a coat check, an abundance of restrooms, and a stand where artists can sell their merch. The location of the merch stand is problematic since the line usually feeds straight down the center of the lobby and can lead to buildup; it can easily lead to congestion and disorder if there are a lot of people in the lobby. The show was great, and overall I had a good experience at Brooklyn Steel. They offer a comfortable environment with a good amount of accommodations, and I would definitely return to see another show here.

Yelp
Man, what a great venue. Who could guess a former industrial building could be converted into a concert room with such phenomenal sound? And the bones of its old usage serve to give it great character. A few tips: If you're driving in from out of town, there are a decent amount of free parking spaces right outside on Frost Street. Fortune favors the prepared so make sure you arrive early if you want to get a prime spot. Speaking of prime spots, if you arrive early, make sure to head upstairs to secure an eagles eye viewing perch. The sight lines and sound are ace up there. Also, if you like a libation whilst watching the show, it's a lot easier to get the bar upstairs than the downstairs one. Brooklyn Steel has myriad bands that play there, shows almost every night. Check one out, you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Not my favorite venue. Saw LCD Soundsystem here, and they were fantastic and sounded great. Unfortunately, I couldn't see much of the actual band. The place is not laid out where you can see from anywhere except the front, and at a packed show like this it was impossible to get close. I did shove my way a third of the way forward on the last few songs to at least snap a picture, but most of the set I was at the back bar mostly listening to the band. I could do that at home with a YouTube video of them playing live and get the same vibe, and it wouldn't cost me $20 a drink! Wish I was just reviewing the band cuz they were 5*!

J O.

Yelp
Bowery advertised 7:00 doors and 8:00 show for weeks. Last minute they for some reason moved things up to 7:40pm. They very kindly informed ticket holders of this change 13 minutes ahead of the new showtime by email. We were already en route and when we showed up at 8:06 we had missed the full set of the band we came for. Lame venue in the first place and they did themselves no favors tonight.

Yelp
I was completely impressed with my first visit to Brooklyn Steel to see Carpenter Brut. My SO and I decided to drive in from NJ with no plans for parking. We were able to find street parking about two blocks away from the venue, so definitely consider doing that instead of paying at a lot. We arrived a little later than the opening time and had no issue getting through security quickly. The entryway layout is easy to navigate and the bar service was great. The stage is set at a great height for viewing, so I found it a little easier to watch the performance even with tall people moving about. The venue is quite large, so you didn't feel like sardines coming together, which I appreciated. The sound system was fantastic and provided a high quality for all of the artists.

Yelp
"Favorite live music venue" Love this place in Bk. Perfect size, two stories with nice sight lines and a very good sounds system Positives - airy and spacious venue - easy entrance and security - good selection of drinks and beers especially for a concert venue - Staff sans attitude Negatives - drinks are waaaaayyyy pricey - hard to find a Uber / Lyft sometimes

Brenna B.

Yelp
The venue itself had a great layout for a general admission type space, but both bartenders I dealt with were increasingly unpleasant. The first seemed pained to crack open the can of beer I ordered and the second one threw a fit and stormed off when I asked for a cup of water.

Yelp
This venue is so much fun. It is a warehouse after all and does carry that vibe. Very spacious and industrial inside. Across the street there is a really good taco truck and a local brewery to pregame. Before you get in you go through a metal detector and get your bag inspected. Standard security. Inside the girl's bathroom has so many stalls so there are never any lines. Depending on the artist playing the place will be packed or spacious. I saw Black Pumas and the place was so FULL with good vibes. Great venue, parking is hit or miss. Plan B there is a parkwhiz location close for $15 and a 4 minute walk.

Yelp
Excellent sound, and a really well-oiled machine overall. I was nervous this place would be terrible because of the 1-star reviews on here, but I found it to be great. Maybe it was bad a few years ago or something. Anyway, it's great now!

Yelp
Great place to take in a concert Black pumas killed it! The bar did a great job keeping up with the crowd I'll be back

Yelp
I visited this venue in April to see Ella Mai. I have never heard of the space until this event, so I had no expectations. Its located deep in the Greenpoint/Williamsburg area. I'm not sure what public transportation is like however, parking was relatively easy. I was there about an hour earlier, so perhaps that's why. There are a number of restaurants in the immediate area, so if you're looking to make it a dinner and show type of night like I did, it's not hard. Upon arriving, there was a fast moving line. Security checked my bag and used a metal detector to check me without issues. There was a small concession with food and bar right outside the main room. I bought a simple coconut rum drink for about $14. Inside the space is large with plenty of standing room and full bar in the back. It's best you come early and find a good spot on the floor because if not, you'll be hopping and standing on your toes trying to see everything from the back. I was relatively close and still moving around just to see certain aspects because people were constantly moving around and passing thru the tight crowd. There are also some seating areas and a balcony, but I preferred the standing room. Sound was great and Ella Mae herself, was wonderful. Only negative was outside the venue. There are people from the local neighborhood selling shirts and other merchandise right outside the venue. Some can be a bit assertive and actually walk up to you, which isn't the most inviting experience. Overall, a good experience for the value. I would return.

Yelp
I loved this place! The place legitimately looks and feels like a metal worker factory, of which I am now noting the irony. I went to see Highly Suspect and they rocked as did their opening band, Dead Poet Society. Perfect venue with plenty of room, multiple bars with a variety of beers and liquor options, a merchandise and coat check section and clean (mens) bathrooms. For a music venue, the latter is almost impossible to maintain based on my concert experiences which was a welcome surprise. Furthermore, while it looked like a hollowed out factory, the staff and security were polite and professional. It felt like a safe environment. No fights or altercations of any kind which was also a welcome surprise. I hope to catch more music venues and discover new bands at this place in the near future.

Yelp
The worst sound system in NYC.. time and again.. The sound here is like dirty dishwater going down the drain.. muddy and distorted bass.. nails on chalkboard treble .. plus terrible acoustics.. I'm the real dumb one.. I've tried 5 times but it's worse everytime..

Lindsay P.

Yelp
Bartender was so incredibly rude. After ordering and few drinks and shots I had been getting some water in a cup from one bartender on the lower level. When the night was coming to an end I wanted to just have one more water before going, the bartender I had been going to was no longer there so I asked the other who had been at the bar for some water in a cup and she got extremely annoyed at me. I then watched her scoop water and ice into a cup from the sink below her and hand it to me. That is NOT how you should treat a customer who was ordering drinks all night.

Fernando G.

Yelp
The overall experience was nice, and the venue has a nice atmosphere to it, and the sound is good. The lobby area is very narrow, and hard to maneuver when it's a sold out show. Bathrooms are clean, and the lobby was clean as well. Service from the bar was quick, and the drinks were decent and PRICEY, but it always is at these venues. The thing that bothered me the most was the fact that there is NO FOOD whatsoever in this venue. No bags of chips, no junk food, nothing. I didn't eat anything before the show because I was expecting there to be food at the venue. Nope. I had to starve and try my best to not pass out for 5 hours. There's restaurants in the area, but every venue should provide some form of food, even if it's crazy expensive or not. I hate the idea of having to leave the actual venue to eat something to prevent myself from passing out from the overwhelming crowd. Especially since the venue won't let You back in after your exit. It's not the worst venue imaginable, but it's definitely not great.

Yelp
Was here with the fam for the member of the Internet Sid's show. She tore the house down. Place was clean, people were cool, and I would definitely go back for more shows!!

Declan B.

Yelp
Staff is full of assholes to the point where I am convinced corporate trains them on how to be dickheads once a month. Asked for water because there were no coolers anywhere, bartender pulls out a bottle, rather than a cup like everyone else around me had, and takes the top off immediately before I can say I didn't want a bottle, then charges $6 for the bottle and throws the cap in the trash so you have to drink it all at once anyway, exactly like a cup. Genuinely evil business practice. Then at the end of the show, I had lost my keys and three of the employees that I asked if I had seen them around were straight up rude, called me annoying and said I should have secured my keys better, and only one employee I asked was cooperative in any way. If you are on the fence about going to a show at this venue, don't. Sound was fine but the employees ruined my night.
google avatar

Fynne M.

Yelp
This is a nice venue, large, clean and lots of room. Staff is really friendly and helpful, I had lost something and they were really nice about it and I was able to get it back without hassle. Acoustics are good, and you can see pretty much everything anywhere. I like the balcony area, it's nice a spot to hang out should you not want to be down in the crowd for a bit and grab drinks quickly. They don't have any food as far as I know but I believe they have food trucks on occasion. This location is a bit of a pain to get to but that's Brooklyn for you. It's about as far west as you can get in Brooklyn, so heavy industrial area, no real parking- just gotta hope and pray you find a lot or street that's close. Deff go at least an hour prior to get a spot to park.

Tracy M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, huge area for general admission shows, but probably a major fire hazard when at capacity!

Sean C.

Yelp
This was my first time at this venue. It was a nightmare. Horrible experience. Where to begin? Staff at the entrance informed us that it is OK to bring an unopened water bottle into the venue. As soon as we entered the front door of the venue, security made us throw away the unopened bottles of water with no questions asked. The next issue that was a bit more concerning was the sheer number of people that were admitted into the venue. I am convinced there was no cap on the number of tickets that were sold. The ground floor of the venue was so tightly packed with fans shoulder to shoulder that you could not even open the door to walk into the main room where the band was performing. I understand that concerts attracted crowds; I expected a lot of fans to be in attendance; but not being able to physically walk into the ground level floor from the sheer number of fans in this small venue is ridiculous. The balcony was just as bad. Overheard many others complaining of not being able to see any part of the stage. The crowd size grew so large and began to overflow into the sides of the stage; which was an area apparently supposed to be closed off (an area that was poorly demarcated as closed off). Staff visibly had trouble keeping people out of this "closed off" area due to the sheer number of people they let in. The floor staff were rude and appeared annoyed while doing their job. Brooklyn Steel- Do better! I wont be coming back.

Yelp
THIS PLACE WAS SO COLD!!! The sound is great but why no heat Everyone in the club had to wear a jacket
google avatar

Yelp
I really enjoyed this venue. Decor is very industrial . Airy and open. Great to see a more intimate concert. Sound was pretty good Bathrooms were clean Had two bars . Not many food options Came here to see Alina Baraz and enjoyed myself Would come back here again

Yelp
Saw RUEL HERE BACK IN 2022- venue is very small felt it was unorganized and very overcrowded

Yelp
'm not a fan of this venue. They sell their tickets through AXS, a spammy site that forces you to download their app in order to access them via download, and hides their service fees till checkout ($36 tickets were really $51). If you don't download the app, you have to wait in line with all the people who didn't buy tickets to get yours. Zero sense. The venue is just a warehouse: two giant rooms, one with the bar and bathrooms and one with the stage. There is a coat check for $6, bottled water is also $6. But outside the room with the stage it's frigid in the winter, not a huge issue for me but if you're looking to take a break from the crowd there's no where to go. They open up the garage doors so the smokers can smoke in the front, which makes it that much colder and rank as hell. The bathrooms were also gross pretty much immediately. How are four toilets clogged and multiple sinks missing faucet knobs before the headliner even starts? The bag search/pat downs are also aggressive/excessively thorough as others have mentioned. The lighting and sound are great, and that does go a long way, but the vibe is off-putting and soulless.

Josh G.

Yelp
On my recent venture into the hipsterish land of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, I hit up a few spots that deserved a Yelp review (Josh G. style). This means multiple pics and paragraphs (What can I say, I like to talk). I was going back through my photos, deleting a few of the ones already posted, and I realized I totally forgot to review Brooklyn Steel (luckily, this was less than a month ago). Now don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike Brooklyn Steel. On the contrary, this place is anything but BS (get it?). Brooklyn Steel actually has my mind making correlations to The Paramount in Huntington. It's got that rusted, vintage, almost unfinished feel to the place, which makes sense when the building probably used to be used for exactly what the venue is called (ya know, making steel). When you actually first stroll in, there are a couple of food stands set up to assist in appetite-curbing. My buddies and I were mildly hungry due to eating a few hours earlier and so we partook in a few dumplings (deliciousness). From there, we walked through another set of doors to be faced with what seemed like a spacious lobby area, complete with bar. I say "seemed" because this turned out to be one of the negatives (later on). Positives were definitely contained within the actual concert venue (another set of doors got you in there). Plenty of space once inside with a bar at the back and room to move around. The space played well for the indie rock/alternative band we were seeing (ever hear or Matt & Kim?) and made for a great concert experience. Once over, things got dicey. Like any music venue, everybody made a break for the doors causing a nice flood of humans. Some concert spaces have an abundance of exits to help combat this, but from what I could tell, this wasn't the case at Brooklyn Steel. Unfortunately, that lobby area which housed a bar also held bathroom entrances (which I ran to right at the closing of the show), the merch booth, the stairway to the balcony seats, and the coat check. Everyone went from concert-goers to frustrated sardines in a matter of moments. It made for an aggravating way to end the night. But hey, I'd come back. Overall, Brooklyn Steel is a location worthy of a return trip. Yeah things got a little nuts when leaving, but beyond that, the place is nicely themed and can hold its own for when Brooklynites and their neighbors might want to come out and jam. And with that, (after six strong paragraphs), you're done reading. *phew*

christopher b.

Yelp
Great music venue. Horrible bar service. $30 for two white claws. When my girlfriend from Europe hit no tip on the card reader, she received a very snobby lecture from the bartender about how she doesn't work for free. When i interjected and apologized i received the same attitude. Bartender took 3-4 other orders and refused to give us our drinks. When we asked if we can please have our cans we were given more rude comments such as "oh is my service not good enough? You two will have to wait" I was finally able to get another bartender to help. I work in the service industry, if someone does not wanted to tip on already overpriced drinks, that is their right. Completely unprofessional.

Yelp
Was taking the G train to see a concert at Brooklyn Steel around thousands of people the smartest thing in the middle of March 2020? Probably not. But I'm glad I did cause I needed my concert fix. Oddly enough Brooklyn Steel is also where I saw my first concert since. I've seen some live music here and there, but this was my first indoor concert since the world turned upside down. Every time I come I have a great experience. The venue is well laid out. Reminds me a lot of terminal five, but better. Bars on each level. Easy to get to bathrooms. Good vantage points from various spots. Lots of room. The place has an industrial vibe, hence the name. Smack dead in the middle of a more desolate part of Williamsburg (no this is not bushwick). Overall it's a great venue and good place to catch a show. Pandemic or not.
google avatar

Geo V.

Yelp
It's a great venue in an obscure area of Brooklyn making it difficult to get to by public transportation from L.I. With that being said we were able to time the unbearable traffic patterns to get there with minimal back ups. Waited for the Met game to begin before heading out, there was an opening band so the headliner came on at 9pm. Parking is difficult we drove around a bit and scored a spot on the same block but it took awhile. This is an industrial area with a brewery across the street. The sound inside venue is great. General Admission with some VIP seating upstairs. I wish the location was more accessible.
google avatar

Erin H.

Yelp
I've seen a few shows here. Most recently yesterday -Black Pumas. I have always had a great time. I love the long large bar when you walk into the lobby and the huge warehouse space for the show. They have a lot of women's stalls which is also huge plus to me! Someone finally gets it. I am a little concerned when exiting the space bc it does feel like a herd of cattle but in all honesty that is any big event space I've been too-and this one actually feels like you can get out rather quickly from a sold out show in comparison to other spaces. The music can be heard clearly and effectively and it feels intimate with the band who is playing bc no one is really too far away to see. I like that.

Kristina R.

Yelp
Probably my least favorite music venue I've visited in the past 3 years. Drove in from Queens to see Modest Mouse, found parking within 2 blocks. Security is tighter than most - expect thorough bag checks, metal detectors, and a pat-down. Mixed liquor drinks are a jaw-dropping $25 per cup, so I recommend pre-gaming at the brewery across the street beforehand. If you are on the shorter side, first floor viewing will be miserable. Upstairs is slightly better, but only if you're standing in the first 2 rows from the front. Security guards posted at the entrance of the VIP section take their job very seriously and cannot be bribed to let you in (trust me, my boyfriend tried). Sound system is decent, but atmosphere is pretty depressing - they use old welding masks and generic construction supplies to "decorate" the space.

Darya S.

Yelp
Saw Lord Huron here tonight. It was smooth sailing from the get-go, as there wasn't much of a line to get in, security was easy, and the show started on time. Doors opened at 7, opener started at 8-8:45, show began at 9:30-11:15. There's a couple of bars, a merchandising booth, a second floor with seating (though that may be extra), and a hectic but organized $4 per item coat-check. It's also a ten-minute walk from the subway, and has some food stands outside, even after the show. I wish they had some fans inside, as it felt really hot all throughout the night. They mainly have indie and rock bands, including big ones. It's a huge space so they can hold a lot of people while not feeling crowded. The staff dealt with us professionally and efficiently. It's a fun time. Check it out sometime!

Neil B.

Yelp
Love most of the people working there. So nice and accommodating. Except for the one who was on her cell phone (a lot) when I was trying to get service.

Yelp
Loved the space- enjoyed the bar. Upstairs standing area- every spot ground floor is a good view. Will come back :)

Yelp
I went to Brooklyn Steel a while back to see Tycho, but never got the chance to do a Yelp review. When I went, it was still new and there was a lot of buzz about the venue. It lived up to the positive reviews that I'd heard when I went to see the concert there. In short, I'd liken it to a nicer and cleaner Terminal 5, but with better acoustics. The performance area is huge. There is a coat check, and there are sleek but still industrial-looking bathrooms. We drove there and found free parking by some industrial yard with huge trucks. You can take the subway there but I haven't tried it yet. I will come here again.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere it was amazing watching one of my favorite bands here! The drinks weren't too over priced ipa was like 13 bucks in a tall boy can which isn't that bad.

Yelp
The 5 star review is not only for the venue itself, bit also for the concert I attended. While I was in town for the engagement ceremony for a friend, I was looking into possible concerts to attend on the other days I was going to be either on the Island or in the City, and saw that Caribou was playing with Jessy Lanza, and the show was absolutely electrifying... and a great first show for me post COVID. The venue itself as others have noted is in a part of Brooklyn that at one time was likely a hub for manufacturing jobs (the building itself used to be a steel working plant, and much of the steelwork was retained and restored), but I believe that venues like this are helping to revitalize the neighborhood a bit. The staff working the door checking vaccination status and the security personnel were all very pleasant to deal with, and the bartending servers were prompt and pleasant. If there's a good concert here for when I come down for my friend's wedding in September, I am definitely going to go again.

Yelp
Brooklyn Steel is the love child of a massive venue like Terminal 5 and a more intimate space like LPR. NYC has no shortage of venues, but Brooklyn Steel is definitely a nice addition. The space is large, but even towards the back of the main floor you'll have decent sightlines, and the elevated bar area towards the back lets you take in the show without missing a moment. It's apparent that the folks at Terminal 5 took the best aspects of the Manhattan venue (major acts, good acoustics, and drinks) and got rid of the bad (primarily obstructed views, and poor ventilation). Being close to the L train and with plenty of parking around, Brooklyn Steel is definitely more appealing than a trek out to Manhattan for major acts...especially if you live in Brooklyn, Queens. Nice venue that will surely get better with time!

Yelp
Excellent, general admission, standing only live performance venue. The staff that I'd interacted with were professional and sweet! I saw Patti Smith on December 30th and enjoyed the show. The sound system Brooklyn Steel was perfection! Despite the show being sold out, people managed to stand close without feeling/being crowded, which is a bonus for a standing room only venue. Thank you, Brooklyn Steel. I will visit you at the next show!

Yelp
The name says it all. Steel. We went to see Ibeyi concert and the venue was the right location and size for their act. There are a couple of concessions in the lobby, inside there is a large bar. Standing only, although there is an area for disabled and elderly with a few seats. Balcony are is also standing only. The sound was good. The audience was mixed, but mostly young. Large bathroom facilities, accessible from concert area by corridor. . A good time was had by all.

Yelp
We love brooklyn steel. Security and entrance: an easy process. Security is a simple electric gate and maybe a wanding, usually even less. Security personnel are kind. Lines don't get long and its a painless process. Also easy to do ticket scanning and box offices available right inside security line. The bar: expansive bars both inside and out in the foyer. All bars are always easily accessible and open and free to move around, rarely with lines. Barstaff are attentive and prices for both beer and cocktails reasonable. Setup: great setup. Big open floorplan. Plenty of space and never feel like I'm getting trampled. Views are good from anywhere in venue. Lots of stage front space. Lots of multi level space in the back. And a big openly accessible balcony up top when you need some space from crowds but still want a good view. Temp: last but not least is air temp. There is one big ass fan (thats the brand name, literally) on the roof. Its probably 40 feet across in diameter and sends down a solid cold column of air. Its magical. We will continue to come to bk steel shows for ad long as we live in NYC.

Yelp
Rolling Stone once called Brooklyn Steel among the 10 best music venues in the country. That seems generous but it is a cool space. It's basically a warehouse in an industrial district of Brooklyn. Only business in the area is a brewery across the street -- otherwise pretty vacant. Spaces like this are disappearing as Brooklyn continues to gentrify. The acoustics are good, which I would not have expected given that it's a warehouse. The only entrance is a large side door, which is a little awkward. Middle of the floor gets crowded fast. There's a balcony area with a nice view of the overall venue, but it feels disconnected from the show. Plenty of bars; never had to wait long for a drink. Bathrooms were OK. There's an attendant, which I always think is weird. Overall, I'm sure I'll be back.

Yelp
Located about a ten minute walk from the Graham Street L train station this is one cool venue. Security was polite and efficient as they processed us into the show area. Once inside there is a long bar along the wall, you have the choice to walk straight back to the bathrooms, upstairs to the monster balcony, or right onto the floor. We started upstairs, the balcony has its own bar and has a fair amount of standing room. It would be cool if the balcony had some seating, especially in the VIP area. The main balcony area is a bit small but offers an amazing view, so if you want a spot here, get there early. The lower left half of the balcony (if you're facing the stage) wraps about halfway around the floor area, and was sectioned off as VIP. I don't think I would have been impressed by that as a VIP especially considering there is no seating. The floor area is big! Plenty of room to move around and I was impressed with how many people can fit comfortably. The sound from the musicians was amazing! The husband who normally complains about the volume could enjoy the show without going deaf. I guess I am trying to say that when we left we didn't have that weird ringing in our ears from the volume being too high. Seriously awesome sound. A tall pbr was $7, $8 for a draft. I think $4 for a bottled water. Bathrooms were clean and the line moved quickly enough. We were going to attempt a Lyft ride back to the city but opted to walk to the L with about half the crowd. We also stopped for pizza just before the L stop with about half of those people. It was a 7 minute L train ride back to Manhattan, which makes for a very easy commute. I would enjoy seeing another show here.

Yelp
Great venue and wonderful vibe. Saw a t*tty pop out at Ricky Velez's show. Five stars. Would come again.

Yelp
I saw two shows at Brooklyn Steel and that sentence will probably never change. I won't be going back. Before you enter, your buzz will most likely be killed by the overly-intrusive and arrogant door staff. This place doesn't want you bringing in one crumb of bread because it will cut into their bottom line. Not only can you not bring in a sealed bottle of water, but the entire time we were inside, the sinks only provided hot water. bottom line? if you want water to drink, you will buy it. No water fountains. Just hot tap water. Gross. So after being denied what should be multiple freedoms, your left at a venue with very few good sightlines and some of the worst sound you'll find in any music venue. This venue is also owned by Bowery Presents who is owned by AEG, so...it's no surprise that everyone involved seems to be trained to make you feel like an asshole. Left there reminding myself to never go back and I haven't and won't.
