"Shelby Township-based microbrewery Brooks Brewing is preparing to open the doors at its second taproom in Ferndale on Wednesday, June 26. The roughly 50-seat outpost is located at 22925 Woodward Ave. near Culantro. The taproom features a horseshoe bar with 25 handles pouring everything from kettle sours to IPAs to lagers. Brooks’ website teases a “flat rate sipping” format where all beers will be priced at $6 with the size of the pour varying based on the style of beer." - Brenna Houck

We live right next to the Shelby Township location but decided to go check out the Ferndale location today. We absolutely loved our visit here. The pizza was great and the drinks were spot on (as always). We had an awesome server and will definitely come back next time we’re in the area.

Outstanding, love this place! Beer is really good, limited food menu right now. They are trying to hire cooks, so hopefully good food soon. Beer is really good, nice vibe.

Friendliest bartenders and always excellent beers - my favorites are named after the dogs (peanut butter porter). Cannot wait until they serve pizza by the slice again!

The staff seemed very nice and welcoming. The vibe was pretty cool, however I didn't realize that the food selection was so limited until after I read reviews leaving the brewery. I went in there wanting pizza as the place advertises on their sign above the building and found out that they don't even serve pizza anymore and now it's two businesses under one roof it seems. You have to go to the back of the brewery to a small window to order food and two bartenders are at the front asking you if you want drinks or not. The food there is Mexican food and a very small menu such as burritos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, and loaded fries with carrots in them. I know it was not their intention, but I feel fooled and tricked in a coming here under the false allure of pizza when in fact there was no pizza and I love pizza, a LOT, probably more than my own family. They allow pets into the brewery which I actually like a lot. There was a dog in there that was pretty cute that was owned by someone that was buying drinks but they weren't eating pizza, and neither was I. 🍕💔😔

Popped in just after opening. Craig greeted us immediately and since I'm an out of towner, gave us the full rundown of the beers on tap and even took the time to ask us about our common beer interests to point us in a direction of a beer we'd enjoy. That's some great customer service right there! Shortly after he got us situated with a couple delicious brews, a VERY large party arrived. Craig was working alone an still managed to attend to everyone's orders as quickly and efficiently as he could, and still had time to describe in detail the different tasting notes of the beers customers asked him about. If I was a local, this would be a definite go to stop. Great service, great brews & great food!

We used to frequent the Shelby location but have since moved to the Ferndale area. We were so excited they opened a location near us! The bar is awesome. Good vibes all around. We got a flight, or as they call it a shield, so we're able to sample a bunch. All of the beer was delicious. Large selection, unique seasonal flavors, love reading all of the descriptions too (super clever). Very fair pricing! We did not eat but the pizza smelled delicious. I unfortunately forgot the gals name who helped us out, but she was fantastic- very friendly and helpful! 10/10 will be back!
