Brooks Guesthouse | Best places to stay in Bristol

"If you like to be in the thick of things, book a stay at Brooks, a relaxed boutique guesthouse slap-bang in the heart of Bristol’s buzzy centre. The 27 bedrooms here are simple but cosy – think big squishy duvets, power showers and a breakfast picnic basket – but It seems a shame to come to Brooks’ and not treat yourself to a stay in one of the four gleaming Retro Rocket airstream caravans on the grassy roof. Brooks call this ‘urban glamping’ – inside each caravan is a double bed, a seating area and a bathroom. They may not be super roomy, but these vintage beauties make a stay in central Bristol tremendous fun, and offer panoramic views over the city. " - Sian Lewis

The Brooks Guesthouse is lovely. Our room was clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. It was very pleasant to relax in the lounge in the evening. The staff is terrific, so friendly and helpful. And the breakfast — wow! Plentiful and delicious. A great place for our few days in Bath , I recommend it wholeheartedly.

What a lovely stay! The location was perfect! It's close to all of the fun and shopping, but far enough away for a quiet night. Our room was beautiful, and came with a very comfy bed. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. Would definitely stay again!

Really great guesthouse. The staff were all so helpful the rooms were nice and the breakfast was simply amazing. It was a perfect location for us as we know Bath really well and it’s such a short walk into town or close for a taxi if it’s raining. ||Our favourite thing had to be the breakfasts as there was so much choice and the chef was such a good cook and his presentation was amazing. The service staff were also very friendly helpful and efficient. ||We would highly recommend this guesthouse and 110% stay again.

We stayed here for two nights recently and everything was great, very clean room, comfortable clean bed, and bedding, plenty of lovely toiletries and teas and coffees etc, breakfast was plentiful and a good variety was offered, This was an ideal central location to visit the main tourist attractions in lovely Bath. There was a lovely chilled lounge with reading material should anyone want some quiet time.We stayed during very hot weather, and were so glad a fan was supplied, What made this accommodation stand out from many other, was the friendly, nothing was too much trouble attitude, of all the staff, the lovely receptionists, waiter at breakfast and everyone we spoke to here. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

Excellent stay at the Brooks Guesthouse. Reception were very flexible to put our luggage in our room ahead of check-in, giving us time to explore Bath on foot which is easily accessible.|Room was spacious with large en suite and large 4 poster bed. Road was quiet and no disturbance from other rooms. Cooked breakfast was good, although buffet was a little disappointing relative to the rest of the experience - packet pastries rather than freshly baked, tinned fruit. Thankful for a later checkout of 11am.

Fabulous traditional guesthouse in a great location. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were delighted to discover we had been upgraded to a room with a four poster bed. It was very |comfortable. Highly recommend having the delicious breakfast. It was superb !

Beautiful and quiet hotel with a great breakfast and warm hospitality. The rooms and beds are good! There is a small self-service bar and a lounge area with very comfy seats.

The hotel's location is excellent! The breakfast is very good. The service was very good! However, the hotel urgently needs renovation, including replacing the carpets and furniture. The room is extremely old. The carpets are filthy and covered in dust, as are the curtains and all upholstered furniture. My husband has bronchitis, and as soon as he stepped into the room, he had to take an antihistamine. On the day we checked in, it was sunny, and the afternoon sun shone directly through the window, making the room unbearably hot and impossible to sleep in, even with the fan on (which was extremely weak). Inside our room, the temperature was around 30 degrees Celsius and remained that way throughout the night. The mattress is extremely soft. The bathroom is small, but the shower is excellent!

Yelp
Perfect for a short stay in Bath. The Sightseeing Tour Bus drops off/picks up a few steps away (stop 14) and takes you all throughout the city. The room was spacious and bathrooms newly renovated. Staff was friendly and accommodating. They offer breakfast daily.

Yelp
We arrived about an hour early for check-in, but it was no problem because the staff let us store our bags. I always appreciate when this service is available because there's such a disconnect between when you have to check out of a hotel (usually 10:30am or 11am) and when you can check into a hotel (usually 2pm or later). Our room was really stylish, sort of a modern Marie Antoinette vibe. It was a definite departure from all the old-fashioned B&Bs that dominate England. Some might say the room was on the small side, and it was probably the smallest room we stayed in during the trip - although not by much in some cases. My husband and I both prefer small spaces anyway (which is why we were able to live in a New York City studio for a year and still be in love), so this wasn't a problem for us at all. The staff were friendly when we dealt with them, which wasn't much since everything went smoothly.

Yelp
We hesitated reserving here because there are only two yelp reviews. However we took the plunge because of the strong Tripadvisor reviews, location, photos, and price. We are immensely happy with our choice. We had a top-floor room with two twin beds just as we requested. The view was from the back, of rooftops, which in Bath are actually quite beautiful. The beds were comfortable, the shower hot, and it was quiet. The included breakfast was made-to-order and so, so delicious. I had eggs florentine and my friend had eggs benedict and we were very happy. It was a good stay!
