Brooks Guesthouse | Best places to stay in Bristol

"If you like to be in the thick of things, book a stay at Brooks, a relaxed boutique guesthouse slap-bang in the heart of Bristol’s buzzy centre. The 27 bedrooms here are simple but cosy – think big squishy duvets, power showers and a breakfast picnic basket – but It seems a shame to come to Brooks’ and not treat yourself to a stay in one of the four gleaming Retro Rocket airstream caravans on the grassy roof. Brooks call this ‘urban glamping’ – inside each caravan is a double bed, a seating area and a bathroom. They may not be super roomy, but these vintage beauties make a stay in central Bristol tremendous fun, and offer panoramic views over the city. " - Sian Lewis

Well worth a stay!! When I arrived Monday late afternoon the lady on reception was so welcoming and helpful. I had the pleasure of being upgraded to a king room and the room did not disappoint. The bed was very comfortable. They offer free mince pies and mulled wine prepared by their in-house chef which is a lovely touch. All the staff were very friendly and I will most definitely be staying again!

A very nice b&b close to city center. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The double room was small, but clean and with very comfortable bed. The breakfast was ok. Fresh pastry from the bakery and organic eggs would be a big plus, therefore one star less. They offered mulled wine and minced pie for small charge. In overall, a good stay, I would recommend this place to everyone. And, I would come again.

Perfect location if you are coming in on the Park & Ride bus from the Newbridge location. A short walk to the Royal Crescent etc and town centre. Staff are very helpful and the breakfast was very good. The room was simple but all you need was there including a good shower. There are 4 floors so let them know if you are struggling with stairs and bring ear plugs incase you sleep at the fromt as this is a busy road into town.

Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time to enjoy Brooks’ Guesthouse, as I arrived later than expected in Bath. The place is only a 15-minute walk from the railway station and is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. The instructions for the late check-in were clear and simple, and the room was cozy, warm and nicely decorated. The freshly cooked breakfast was a wonderful surprise! I will definitely return.

I stayed Sunday night with my mum to go to the Christmas markets. We arrived after 8pm So reception was closed, but accessing the property was made easy for us which after a long day travel was very appreciated! When we explored the communal areas we were greeted with a stunning lounge complete with a coal fire and Christmas tree. There was also a flask of mulled wine and mince pies to help ourselves to for a small fee. Our room was on the ground floor, which was a relief again after the journey, especially for my mums physical ailments. I felt the hotel had read my mind, as I hadn’t asked for a downstairs room. Looking at the photos all the bedrooms are very thoughtfully decorated in a period style which I absolutely adored! (I personally don’t like the more modern style). Our room was no different, I loved the posts on the bed giving the bed the posh feel of sleeping in a 4 poster! The bed was absolutely massive, so it was no problem sharing. The room was warm and clean as well as lovely. I think this hotel has thought of everything and is run very professionally. I wanted for nothing and this is a credit to the staff. At breakfast we had a chin-wag with the chef and left the breakfast room full from all the goodies on offer. I’m actually new to writing reviews. I don’t doubt my 5 star review. I’d be absolutely delighted to stay at Brooks again. The biggest attraction for me is the accessible (affordable) cost, which with basic living being so tight, it feels a relief to be able to access one night of luxury. Without reasonable prices like Brooks, I wouldn’t be able to go to Bath at all. A sincere thanks from me and my mother for making our dream trip to Bath such a pleasure.

Came for Christmas Market. Yet again super stay. Super breakfast. So friendly staff. Very comfortable in lovely lounge with real fire burning. 10 minutes from central bath. But very quite. Its a lovely though the woods and gardens. And all beauiful bath famous building. Super independent shops to visit. Brookes guesthouse is certainly a perfect place to stay.

We loved our stay at Brooks Guesthouse for our recent visit to Bath for the Christmas markets. The location was convenient, everything was in walking distance. Our room was lovely, spotlessly clean and warm and everything we needed was provided. We would definitely stay here again as we were made most welcome. Thank you all 🥰

Yelp
Perfect for a short stay in Bath. The Sightseeing Tour Bus drops off/picks up a few steps away (stop 14) and takes you all throughout the city. The room was spacious and bathrooms newly renovated. Staff was friendly and accommodating. They offer breakfast daily.

Yelp
We arrived about an hour early for check-in, but it was no problem because the staff let us store our bags. I always appreciate when this service is available because there's such a disconnect between when you have to check out of a hotel (usually 10:30am or 11am) and when you can check into a hotel (usually 2pm or later). Our room was really stylish, sort of a modern Marie Antoinette vibe. It was a definite departure from all the old-fashioned B&Bs that dominate England. Some might say the room was on the small side, and it was probably the smallest room we stayed in during the trip - although not by much in some cases. My husband and I both prefer small spaces anyway (which is why we were able to live in a New York City studio for a year and still be in love), so this wasn't a problem for us at all. The staff were friendly when we dealt with them, which wasn't much since everything went smoothly.

Yelp
We hesitated reserving here because there are only two yelp reviews. However we took the plunge because of the strong Tripadvisor reviews, location, photos, and price. We are immensely happy with our choice. We had a top-floor room with two twin beds just as we requested. The view was from the back, of rooftops, which in Bath are actually quite beautiful. The beds were comfortable, the shower hot, and it was quiet. The included breakfast was made-to-order and so, so delicious. I had eggs florentine and my friend had eggs benedict and we were very happy. It was a good stay!
