In a word: comfortable. There was another bar-b-que restaurant across the street from this restaurant, but we kind of liked the menu offerings here better. We liked the taste of their barbecue sauces as they had different flavors, from mild to spicy 🌶️. I like very spicy food so for me I didn’t think the spicy barbecue sauce was too spicy! However, the food was very good. Try the brisket and ribs, you won’t be disappointed. I liked the potato salad it was decent as well as the greens. Everything we tried was good. Would I return to this restaurant? Yes.

This was my second time coming here, my first was a few years ago & it was just as delicious last week as it was 3 years ago! Delicious BBQ! The brisket & pulled pork are to die for & the cornbread is just amazing. It's a fun atmosphere as well; they have fun games & even a photo booth. Definitely a place to have a great time

Have you ever stopped to wonder why some places have low star ratings? I used to give places the benefit of the doubt, but not anymore. After my recent experience, I’m done with that. I had been craving BBQ for a few days, and on our last night of the visit, we decided to try this place for dinner. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, and we opted to sit outside since it had just rained. When we walked in, there was no hostess in sight. We waited a few minutes, assuming she was busy. When she finally came over, I said "two, please." She grabbed two menus and walked away without a word, expecting us to follow her like lost puppies. She tossed the menus on the table and left without saying a single word—no greeting, nothing. We sat down, looked at the menu, and took in the busy décor. We waited, and waited, and waited for a server. We spent the time discussing different menu options. When we looked over, the hostess was sitting at the front on her cell phone. She stayed there until we finally got up and left. We waited far longer than we should have. I can't comment on the food because we would have starved before getting any, but the lack of service was evident. Places get the reviews they deserve, and this one has earned its low star rating. To the owner/manager: you might as well close up because you can’t run a business without customers, and you won’t have customers without service. This was such a disappointment. There are plenty of other options within walking distance that actually want your business. Do yourself a favor and keep on walkin'!

Google
The portions were kind of small but they ribs were fall off the bone they had a good flavor. The chicken was kind of watery it didn't have a whole lot of flavor. The brisket was very fatty but it did taste good, it was tender.

The food and drinks were delicious! Quieter for an early evening weeknight dinner but was picking up by the end of our meal. Highly recommend the Fried Pickles

Google
This is nice BBQ bar. Service was excellent. Potato salad was outstanding, corn bread very good, but the pulled pork was a little dry and the 4 table sauces were too runny. It felt cluttered, too many places settings at once.

Google
Great food, strong flavors, delicious Arnold Palmer. Serve Hannah was amazing. We visited on a work trip (yr 2) and super complicated the 6 person group order, but she handled it amazingly. Only issue was the 6 orders came out at different times (nearly 10 minutes difference from first main plate, to final), and the bread pudding was overdone. Otherwise, great meal yet again.

Google
Food is as usual, great. But with tiny portions. Does not have a full menu like other Brother Jimmy's.

Yelp
Jimmy is my go to for the Chili Mac and Corn Bread ! I love the Spicy Buffalo Wings and the Brisket!

Yelp
Greens are real deal! Cooked perfectly and pot liquor is flavorful down to last drop! I'd say order a double! Catfish bites tasty good crust and came out fresh out the grease piping hot!

Yelp
Ok... - The the game was on (plus) - The sign worked (plus) - The salads were fresh (plus) - Waitress was kind (plus) - Great atmosphere (plus) Enjoy!

Yelp
Wow. I do not enjoy these types of reviews but I must help my community out. This place is just uneventful. Uneventful service uneventful flavor uneventful environment. All was bland and small servings and poor service. We had to wait on refills and the flavor of every sauce was uneventful. Bland and lacked any imagination at all. Not to mention that it was overpriced for what it was. I would recommend that you try someplace else. I wanted to like it but was let down.

Yelp
We had a pleasant experience here. My family arrived with our toddler close to 10pm on a Thursday and Q(part of the security team) took the time to ask a manager if we could be seated. We appreciated this alone. Then we were seated and the positive vibes remained with Jasmine as our server. She was upbeat, fast and checked on us throughout our time ther. I ordered the brisket platter with collard greens as my side and cornbread. I enjoyed my entire meal. Parts of my brisket was a little dry but most of it was just right. We'll more than likely be back.

Yelp
Cool rustic man cavy interior. I chose the catfish platter instead of the brisket or the pulled pork because I am trying to avoid meat for the moment. Well, they could've seasoned the fish before dropping it in the breading. The cornbread was just ok, kinda sweet. I did enjoy rhetorical side of fried Brussel sprouts. The waitress was great and attentive. We had our retirement dinner here for my coworker.

Ariana M.

Yelp
Came here with a couple friends who were staying at the Gaylord. Honestly, for the price I did expect a little more out of this. The chicken sandwich was a bit disappointing. The sauce lacked flavor, and the chicken itself was dry. The potato salad could have used some extra seasoning to elevate it. On a brighter note, my friend really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts! They were delicious, but unfortunately, her burger was undercooked. She requested medium-rare, but it came out closer to rare. Another friend had a positive experience with the brisket. The cornbread was a highlight, with generous portions. However, the side sauces seemed watered down and lacked the expected punch. Overall, the meal was a mixed bag. The fried pickles were a fun starter, though a bit on the small side. While some dishes fell short, there were some bright spots as well. Another note -- parking kind of sucks. Its $5 for 1.5 hours in a garage and not that much side parking.

Yelp
Not sure why the service got such bad reviews, I went with friends on a Friday night and service was spot on from the hostess and waitress to runners. Food was good. I had the fried chicken platter with fried brussel sprouts. Chicken was hot, flavorful and you get 4 pieces! The brussel sprouts were too oily. Platter came with a decent piece of cornbread (lightly sweetened and with bits of corn). My friends shared the bbq wings and beef brisket nachos. The wings were great, but nachos were too sweet a too heavy bbq sauce that overpowered the cheese sauce.

Yelp
My friend and I went here on a whim for food a few nights ago and we thought that BBQ would be a great pick. Boy, we were definitely wrong that night. Upon walking in, there's lots of neon lit signs and lots of décor of old logos from soda/alcoholic companies. It's nice over all but we're here for the food. We were sat down by our waiter and we probably waited about 10-15 minutes before actually ordering our food. Perhaps the staff was short or so but it's also the weekend of a big convention (MAGfest) so maybe they should've planned better. We had a friend come through to dine in with us and our server did take his order promptly as well. By the time our orders was placed, more people came to sit down and it was started to get a bit packed. Looking at our watches, it has been 20 more minutes since we placed our order in. Then something really shocking happened to my friends and I five minutes later. Our server comes back and asks us to reiterate our orders again to her. I was very much confused as to believe maybe she wanted to confirm that our orders were up but no. She did not enter them in the system so we ended up sitting there like ducks for a good half hour. Our patience were getting really low at this point and we initially thought about walking out. After joking about the whole situation for a good 10 minutes, our food finally came out. I got the fried chicken dish which just came with fries in a basket and cornbread. I guess the only thing that's redeeming it from being a 1 star is that you get four pieces. It was surprisingly fried fresh, crunchy and salty like any good southern fried chicken. Fries were lukewarm but they had some crunch to it. I think it'd be better if they were warmer. The cornbread.... yeah no it was hard as a brick. It was so dry that I had to drink water and that did not even help. I do not know if this was left in the oven for too long but please do not serve your customers something inedible. Some other things I noticed was perhaps our waiter was the only one on the floor unless there were more but it does seem like she was talking majority of the orders of people that walked in. Lots of messy tables that haven't been bussed down. Eventually they did but that was when I left. Granted that was a two hour experience which I don't know if I could recommend this place. There's better BBQ places, and Brother Jimmy's BBQ isn't it.

Yelp
I don't know what's being served here but it wasn't bbq. Maybe it was an attempt at bbq similar to when public schools would serve something with barbecue sauce and call it ribs? I stopped in here after enjoying a show at the dueling pianos. I took a seat at the bar and the service was good which was its sole redeeming quality. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. When it came out, I laughed a bit. It was so tiny and the 3 little slices of pickle? There were three pieces of brisket on the sandwich that felt like it was frozen and then microwaved. The entire sandwich was 6 bites and for 20$ it wasn't worth it. I would recommend finding another bbq restaurant in the area.

Yelp
I went to Brother Jimmy's BBQ with a large group (10+) of coworkers for lunch. I had no issues with the waitress and service. Visually the food looked great, but it was honestly a disappointment to me and my coworkers. We ordered brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, Mac & cheese, potato salad , ribs etc. Meats - The brisket and pulled pork were dry and charred between me and my co-workers. It wasn't moist nor tender like it was off the smoker. Sides - Beans were good, we all liked the beans. Potato salad wasn't fresh or tasted homemade. I had pieces of potatoes that were iced cold literally. Two co-workers said the Mac & cheese was low quality regarding the cheese and wasn't good. We all thought it was leftovers from the day before due to the food quality, and our orders came out quickly (5-8) minutes. Overall, I would recommend a different BBQ restaurant.

Lisa A.

Yelp
I ordered catfish nuggets and a steak quesadilla. They were delicious, especially with the tarter sauce .

Stephanie G.

Yelp
Picture it: late night, National Harbor, rumbling bellies. Enter: Brother Jimmy's. We sat at the bar, and initial service was quick. I ordered a drink-- it was super weak and watered down. It did not leave a lasting impression, so I have no idea what it was. I also ordered fried pickles (vegetarian at a bbq place; I knew what I was getting into). They were bad. Super thin and all breading, no pickle. My husband ordered actual bbq but it was awful. He got a sandwich, but the bun was essentially bare and it had no flavor. The ambiance is kind of cool, with some games and stuff. But there's no saving this one. I'd skip it on all accounts.

Yelp
Eh. I called before coming and whoever answered the phone hung up initially, I called back and it seemed to be a different person who was friendlier I'll say. Upon walking in, there was a lady who was just sitting there and then the host came over, she literally just sat there and didn't say anything , so I had to ask her could she help me - very weird interactions. All the people who seemed to be working this night except my waiter Sean that I came into contact with were just very unprofessional, eating by the hostess stand, having casual conversations like we can't hear them. Just not my cup of tea. The food was pretty good : I got the smoked BBQ wings, tasted the Mac and Cheese ( reminds me of KFC, but I like that type of Mac so it's a yes for me), and got the brisket! Best thing was hands down the brisket our server Sean was also amazing . Would follow him to a different restaurant just to interact with him.

Rich G.

Yelp
I stopped in with my kid to check it out. Looks great, like an authentic barbecue joint. The greeter was very polite and friendly. There are a few games and a pool table that I thought were great additions. The feel and look wasn't different from the "real barbecue places" in the south. I got a brisket sandwich, and my son got a burger. The brisket was ok, but more on the fatty side, with some sauce that was ok. The bread was good! My son said the burger was good but not better than his favorite barbecue place. The server was sufficient, not memorable. Nothing bad and nothing outstanding. A bit pricey in comparison, but understandable considering the location. High rents I'm certain. I'll be back for the karaoke.

Yelp
We came up on this driving around the harbor and trying to decide what we had a taste for. BBQ sounded great! We were seated pretty quickly. Our server arrived maybe four or five minutes after we were seated and she was very pleasant. We ordered everything at once: appetizer, drinks and food. The drinks were decent. I had the Georgia Tea, which I liked. The appetizers were fried pickles and catfish bites. I thought that they were pretty good. The entrees are what bring the rating down. There's a game area that has a pool table and basketball hoops. The overall lighting is a bit on the dark side, almost giving it a speakeasy feel. Back to the food. We each ordered a two meat combo platter. I had pulled pork and smoked Italian sausage with mac and cheese. My wife had BBQ spare ribs, brisket and brussel sprouts (the brussel sprouts were allegedly fried, but they appeared and tasted roasted). Each combo meal comes with cornbread. The brisket was a little on the tough side for my liking. The pulled pork was okay. They have some BBQ sauces and hot sauce on the table. Their original BBQ sauce did enhance the pulled pork a little. The ribs were okay. The smoked sausage was decent. I was disappointed with the Mac and cheese. There was nothing to it. My wife tasted them and likened them to Velveeta. For me, when I see a place that specializes in southern cuisine or BBQ and they have Mac and cheese, I'm looking for something that stands out, something that doesn't taste like it came from a box. Anyway, I can't say that I would intentionally go back again, since the majority of the food was just average.

Yelp
Came here to unwind a bit with friends and grab a few drinks. I did two visits while I was in the area and both were at the opposite end of the spectrum. The first night was earlier in the week which was probably why it was better to visit. We were a decent size group, but not too big. If I remember correctly, there was a DJ that started later in the night. Which was kind of great since the area he set up in was like their gaming room. Because most of those games were broken, out of service. When the DJ began to play it made it more lively. But hard to hear. The bartenders were amazing on this night. The drinks were on point and they were very accommodating. They made sure to get the drinks out as fast as they could. The next time I was here, it was nearly the opposite. Crowded, carded at the door, karaoke night. Something was just off and we were told that we needed to order in order to be at a table. I was over it and left. Went elsewhere to grab a bite to eat where I wasn't so rushed.

Lisa P.

Yelp
Service was very attentive but you just can't put lipstick on this pig. We got the pulled pork platter and the loaded nachos. I wasn't sure that the baked beans that came on the nachos were gonna work, but they were actually pretty good. The problem with the nachos is the liquid cheese goo. I expect that at the ballpark or gas station, but not at a sitdown restaurant and not for $15. Then the pulled pork arrived -- it had squishy unappetizing bits and gristle. My daughter ended up getting up to throw up. Do not be fooled by the fact that there is a crowd waiting to eat here. On a Saturday night, there's a crowd waiting EVERYWHERE at National Harbor. Do yourself a favor and wait another half hour for something better.

N.J. R.

Yelp
It was ok. I went for lunch and wanted something diff and this was an okay spot. Service was average, they added a 15% gratuity automatically which I really dislike and only tipped an xtra dollar as opposed to $5. The atmosphere was cool, great for families and groups. They also have games for youngsters and young at hearts to play, unfortunately I was sat next to the basketball game lol. I had pulled pork and cole slaw which was ok. The slaw actually was good and the pulled pork taste like other places I've been that were good. The bbq sauces were limited (2) and they were average. In think taste wise it's comparable to Famous Dave's but w better cornbread.

Maritza R.

Yelp
Came here last night and they have terrible service. As you walk in on the right hand side they have a sign posted that 15% gratuity will be added to everyone's tab so the team members are not motivated to help. We usually tip more than 15% but terrible service doesn't deserve a tip. Our server took our order and eventually brought out water for my husband and I. We got our food and never saw our waiter again. My husband ordered a drink (alcohol, can't recall what it was) and the server never came back to ask if he wanted another. Everyone needed water. When the server came back I asked for a water refill thinking he would refill the entire table but he only came back with one glass for me. Someone in our party asked for water and a box. Again only came back with one glass of water and no box. Our friend never got her box so we just left. I had the Chicken Nachos and the Mac N Cheese. The chicken nachos were a joke. Who puts shredded chicken on nachos? Also, nacho sauce tasted weird. I expect real cheese when I order nachos at a restaurant. See photo for reference. I ate them because I had ordered them but it looked like food made by a child for a child. I also got the Mac N Cheese. It was good better than the craft box stuff lol. I would not return to the establishment. I also saw our server go to CVS and come back with a bag which is why he never came back to check on us after we got our food. All of the servers were hanging out in a back room. He only came once we flagged him down. Terrible service. I can see why they had to implement the 15% tip minimum.

Teba D.

Yelp
The food was disgusting. The bbq ribs, pull pork and brisket were cold, tough, and dry. No seasoning nor Smokey flavor. The pull pork did not have bbq sauce nor flavor. Cold slaw was a 3 out of 10. Baked beans was a 5 out of 10. Service was awful. I ordered online. When I arrived, no one came to great me at the hostess station. Employees walked by like I was invisible. I walked to the bar to get someone's attention and still was ignored. I asked a way walking by to show me where to pick up my food. This was a Wednesday afternoon and the place was not busy. I'll never waste my money at that place again. It needs to be shut down.

Kelly

Yelp
Loved this place! Service was attentive, food was delicious. BBQ pork sandwich & fried chicken sandwiches were delicious, and the key-lime pie was delicious too! Will definitely come back here!

David K.

Yelp
While away for business, I came here for dinner. It was during happy hour, and between five and six, only two other people were inside, so it was quiet. I had the catfish sandwich, and it was ok. My preference is for it to be blackened. I did like the Mac & cheese. The waitress was friendly, and the place looked clean. I do not like the 15% gratuity that is automatically charged to the bill. I worked in the service industry for over a decade and believe that a tip should be earned, not expected, and certainly not as an automatic charge. As the restaurant is in a tourist area, pay your staff.

Tiffany T.

Yelp
Visited on a Friday evening with a group of 6. Experienced a minimal wait time (15 minutes). Server was friendly and took our order within about 5 minutes of us being seated. Food arrived fast, fresh and hot. Between the group we tried the burger, brisket, pulled pork, sausage, collard greens, fried, loaded nachos, macaroni and cheese. Everyone enjoyed their selections. The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is fine; made for casual dress. I will note the food choices are only on one side of the menu and there is 15% gratuity on all checks regardless of the amount of the party; which is not a downside but just a note. They do have a sign at the door about the gratuity so it's not a hidden fact. All in all, I would visit again and recommend to others.

Mark B.

Yelp
So-so BBQ wouldn't recommend it unless it's the only thing open. Brisket was served with nothing but fat on it which was a waste. Limited selection of sauces Sides of collard greens and coleslaw were good! Don't waste your time buying the fried pickles. They are pickle skins with nothing but a super thin slice of pickle skin and all batter. Finally, the 15% automatic gratuity to everyone's check is pretty heinous. Means the restaurant isn't paying their workers a good wage and wants customers to cover it. $50 for a simple BBQ plate and drink is ridiculous and not worth it. Service was subpar and I could get better service through a drive-thru!

Gary S.

Yelp
This place goes up there with one of the worst BBQ places that I've ever eaten at. It might take top worst spot due to the cost. The service was good but that's where it ended. I purchased a BBQ pork sandwich along with macaroni and cheese. My wife and granddaughter split a 2 meat meal with pulled chicken and 1/3 track of ribs. I didn't taste the ribs so I can't comment on them but my wife's chicken and my pork both tasted like it was warmed up in boiling water. Both were very soggy with no smoke taste. I had to douse mine in two different sauces to get some flavor. The mac n cheese was very disappointing. My granddaughter liked it but that made sense as it tasted like it came out of a can and heated up. Clearly not smoked or seasoned. For those 2 meals plus 3 drinks were $ including tip. They include 15% gratuity and I added 5% more because the server was nice. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.

Allison C.

Yelp
Overrated ! This was my first time there. My husband got the 2 meat platter with brisket and pulled pork. I got the bbq wings w cornbread. The food was at best average. The food had to much sauce. The wings were on the tough side. The cornbread was just ok. I have had better bbq that costed a lot less with larger portions.

Charles C.

Yelp
Came here due to it being close to the Gaylord. Took a chance with the given reviews and enjoyed my food here. I ordered the brisket platter which came with cornbread and a side; I chose mac and cheese. The brisket was mostly tender with some sauce and decent flavor. While it could've used more sauce, they have sauce at your table if you need it. The mac and cheese was more so-so but I'm not picky with mac and cheese regardless. The cornbread was delicious and I almost ordered more but I wanted dessert and got banana pudding, which was sweet but not too sweet.

Kevin H.

Yelp
I really hope this was just a bad day before magfest but damn this was a miserable experience. Came with a friend, and we had to wait about 30 minutes before we were seated despite all the open tables. I'm pretty convinced there was probably only a part timer working the kitchen or something because it was not good at all. Waitress took 3 people's orders after sitting us at a table about 30 minutes after seating us, then came back 15 minutes later to reconfirm 2 out of the 3 orders. About another 15 minutes later, we were served by who I assume was the manager. We finally got our waters but no food yet. Finally, we get our food after about 1.5 hours of sitting since initially telling them our orders and the third order is wrong. At this point I'm too hungry to really care about the service until I ate my pulled chicken and it dry and tasteless. The place was empty with dirty tables but at least it wasn't that loud. Quite frankly the only reason I tipped anything at all was because an employee apologized about the quality of service and food, but to tip this service anything above 15% is an insult to anyone who actually tried. I'm not coming back I'll just get Nandos next door

Katie N.

Yelp
We went here for after dinner drinks. We sat at the bar were served rather quickly and drinks came out quick. Def recommend if looking for before or after dinner drinks.

Lucy M.

Yelp
I was having a drink with friends at Public House when someone came over and told us Brother Jimmy's has karaoke on Thursday nights. We called to confirm what time it started. Since the weather was bad (severe thunderstorms & heavy rain) the woman who answered the phone put us on a hold to confirm they were still having it since the weather was bad. After waiting on hold for 10 mins, we hung up, as we were waiting to close out our bill, we called again and we were told it starts at 9:30. When we arrive - there was a decent crowd (fyi: no one was wearing masks for the covid concerned ppl) the music was good... the staff was nice as well. So, I'm not sure if my tolerance for alcohol didn't exist yesterday or due to inflation- drinks are more watered down than ever.. I had two Palmetto drinks, Mai Tai and shots.... I felt sober A friend of mine ordered the Italian sausage with a side of collard greens (didn't take a picture) he said the food was really good. I think the sausage was stuffed with jalapeño & cheese. I don't think his greens lasted a minute before they were gone. I ordered the smoked wings- personally speaking I didn't enjoy them... maybe because I request them naked with the smoky bbq(?) sauce on the side. The wings were dry and the sauce was tasty to me. If you are at the harbor late- please check out Karaoke night- it was so much fun watching everyone perform. OAN: Just my personal frustration, I hate when ppl want to see slow sad songs at a bar/ restaurant. Another observation was seeing so many kids in there where was weird for me but I kept telling myself they are a restaurant first. I do feel there should be a time cap... I left around 1 am. I will attend in the near future

Yelp
I read the YELP reviews prior to coming here and was a bit cautious. Nevertheless, i visited with a colleague for dinner with high hopes . Traditional BBQ decor with a nice outdoor area ( too cold to use for my taste). We started off with beverages and they have a robust list of drafts and Margs! I did like their basic menu with all of the classics including baby-backs. I ordered the combo platter along with Mac n Cheese and some beans - it comes with corn bread . Now, I just came from Austin Texas and had some BBQ there and this was better than one of the famous venues ( see my earlier reviews ) - no BS ! The platter was hot, tasty and I really liked their basic BBQ sauces as well ! Sides were good and the service was pretty good too . My colleague got the pulled pork and she enjoyed as well. Corn bread was quite good too. Overall I was impressed and surprised although based on the reviews, it may be a little inconsistent as far as food or meat quality. On my watch, it was very good BBQ and worth a visit !!

Joshua H.

Yelp
When I walked in and saw that everybody in there was black, I knew I was on to something. Initially, I was about to walk out of there. They only had outdoor seating and high chairs available. But one of the staff looked out for us and hooked us up with a table in a section that wasn't even open yet. The food here is bussin. It's not the best BBQ I've ever had, but it is pretty good for an area that's definitely not known for good bbq. Briskets and Wings were good. And the lemonade had a strong kick to it. Waiters were super friendly with personality. And the place has that bbq place charm to it, plus basketball for the kids. I expected a bigger brisket sandwich, and that is my only gripe here. For the money my sandwich should been a sub instead of being on a brioche bun.

Damon T.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. Was seated right away. Served was there quickly to take my order and I thought the St. Louis style ribs were good. Not the best I ever had but far from the worst. Cornbread was ok and fries were good. Solid place and close to the hotel.

Robert P.

Yelp
Not a bad item on the menu. You will not be disappointed. This is true for the service, as well. The ambiance is not for business meetings because of the presence of a bar, numerous TV monitors with sports (e.g., not news or CNN), and numerous activities like an indoor basketball game that you see at fairs and amusement parks. Therefore, the noise level varies depending on the games being played and who's cheering for what teams while watching the monitors. The ribs, sides, and desserts are very good and reasonable!!

Yelp
Horrible bbq and sides! Taste process ed. not good at all. Not authentic bbq. Hostess not so friendly but waitress was very nice. I would not recommend for food but they have a good bar and bar games like pool.

Yelp
Had very high hopes for this place. Unfortunately didn't live up to my expectations. The ambiance is interesting and has great memorabilia. The lighting was too dark for a restaurant ...it was fairly full too capacity. I ordered the pulled chicken & mac n' cheese. Portions were large only problem-the chicken was tasteless and dried out. The waitress was great. If this place gives you a nice size pulled chicken be sure to ask for your drink and I think extra bbq is a must. I'm sorry I didn't feel comfortable going higher than 3 for the restaurant.

Yelp
Wish I could give no stars, dimly lit, highly priced, food nothing to even discuss, small portions of not good food. Full price for nothingness

Yelp
Meh.... Just ok. We went for lunch and started off with catfish bites. Those were decent... good amount of them. My boyfriend got a pull pork bbq sandwich and he said the only flavor came from the bbq sauce. The meat literally just tasted like smoke, not much flavor. I got chicken wings and a side salad. Both were good ... and it may be the National harbor area but I felt like the price was high for what I got. I wish I would've just gotten a salad but $10 for some romaine, couple of cucumbers, onions, and tomatoes.... Nah. Oh.. and they have those gross crispy fries Overall, 3 out 5. Not bad but not great. Plenty of other places to try in the area.

Yelp
Stopped by on a whim and wasn't disappointed, my sister got the catfish which was perfectly crispy and tasted phenomenal. Brisket nachos were good, should be served on a plate or tray though instead of a little bowl. My chicken quesadilla lacked flavor. Wonderful service too. Kids running around acting crazy but not the restaurant's fault lol we will be back!

Yelp
Ordered to go on 11/15 for dinner at 6pm. Here's what I ordered: 1. Kids pulled pork with fries 2. Hot wings 3. Brisket with cornbread and coleslaw Cons: -Fries were cold and undercooked -wings were dry even though they were over seasoned, plus the taste made it seemed that the meat was old and properly unfrozen - Brisket was sliced but it was all fatty cuts. -coleslaw was expired, because I could tell from the smell

Yelp
I didn't walk into Brothet Jimmy's expecting the best Que ever. Why set them up for failure. This is a tourist area so you are going to get tourist quality. The place is a nice size and can accommodate large groups. The bar is long with plenty of seating. They have some pre and post food entertainment with mini basketball shooting game. I'm not sure if they still have the skeetball out foosball tables as I personal did not see them. There is a photo booth were you can take pictures that they hang up on the wall at the entrance. On to the food. The menu has been noticeably reduced. This is still covid times so I guess they are trying to push what sales. No meat combo though? That's really weird for a bbq place. The only combo was 5 ribs and 3 wings with 1 side. After checking the menu I opted to go with the loaded nachos with added brisket. The nachos were delicious and the brisket was a nice added smoky touch. They come with baked beans and that truly might have been my favorite added touch. I love a good baked bean!! I did order a side of Mac but it wasn't worth picturing so certainly not worth mentioning (box taste all the way and was just a stuck together blob). Overall I'm not sure if I would go back but if I did I would certainly order the nachos again and maybe an additional side of backed beans. O and the sweet tea is fresh and good. Can't forget about the tea

Yelp
The food was overpriced and small portions and the service was slow. They didn't honor a discount that was advertised.

Yelp
Brother Jimmy's BBQ isn't that great. The service was very slow. We didn't see our server much. I had to go to the bar to get my own refill of Pepsi. The restaurant was a little dark and loud. The Frickles (fried pickles) were great. We also ordered Smoked Brisket Sandwich and Jimmy Burger. The fries were okay. Also, even though the service is horrible, they automatically add a tip to your bill no matter your party's size.

Yelp
Very disappointed in the overall experience from this restaurant. My family stayed at the Club Wyndham across the street and the concierge recommended Brother Jimmy's. There were 6 people in our group so we thought ordering the Family Meal as a take out would suffice. As you see in the pictures, the portions are very small and this advertisement was falsely represented. Outside of the portions being small, you see we are supposed to receive 4 sides and we only received 2 sides. I placed 3 orders of cornbread. The cornbread comes in two pieces. We only received 1 out of the 3 orders. I thought about walking back to pick up the missing pieces of cornbread but it wasn't worth it. I don't mind the 15% tip if the food and service is good but not only was it difficult placing the order, the food wasn't worth it. The (small) chicken was dry, the Mac and cheese has no taste and you can't taste cheese. The brisket and mashed potatoes were the only items we ordered that were edible. I try to be fair when writing reviews and complement good service but my overall experience at this restaurant was very frustrating. Especially because there are way more options at the National Harbor. Maybe the food is better sitting in the restaurant than take out, but I doubt it. If you can eat anywhere else, please do.

Yelp
The service was great and our food came out in no time, but it wasn't worth for how pricey it is and how much is on the plate. It felt like i was eating an appetizer.

Yelp
I stopped in for dinner with my wife while visiting the Gaylord. We stopped here since I had visited the New York location and loved the barbecue. We were immediately greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us. The waitress, Tiara, was very attentive and friendly. My wife and I both had the Pulled Chicken Barbecue Sandwich. They were good but not great. The flavor was good, but the meat was a little dry and chewy. However, the mashed potatoes were excellent. Overall, I enjoyed the visit, primarily because of the great service. I'll visit again, but will try something other than the chicken barbecue.

Yelp
We decided to give Brother Jimmy's BBQ a try after being seated for 20 minutes without being acknowledged at Public House. So we left there and headed down to here. Thankfully at Brother Jimmy's, we were greeted right away. My bf was very hungry and had a low key hangry attitude. They fixed that right away. I would hate to lay him out at National Harbor because he needed a snickers bar. LOL Anyway, Brother Jimmy's BBQ was very good. The bartender's customer service was cool. He was very polite. I do not remember his name but he sounds like Katt Williams. LOL (seriously) He appears to be a great employee. Treat him right. It's hard to find good employees in the restaurant business especially during the pandemic. But we had the catfish bites, cornbread, pulled pork, pork ribs, Italian sausage, collard greens and macaroni & cheese. Everything was pretty good EXCEPT the macaroni & cheese. Most bbq places don't have the best macaroni and cheese so it was exactly what I expected. It was creamy, not baked. If you like powder cheese or Velveeta, it'll work for you. It didn't specify on the menu what kind but I still wanted to try. I should've tried maybe baked beans. Collard greens are the best though. We will be back again.

Yelp
Descent BBQ, the sauce was delish. The brisket was full of fat but the ribs was real good. Many options to choose off the menu burgers to chicken. Also a lot of beer options in case you need a beverage to compliment your bbq. Place is on the harbor. There is public parking and you can have a short walk to the restaurant.
