Brown Acropol by Brown Hotels (Athens, Greece) 9 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The first of the Israeli-based Brown hotels to open in Greece, Brown Acropol aims to recreate a very specific vision of Athens: not the classical history for which the city is most famous so much as the high modernism and hedonistic glamour of the swinging Sixties and Seventies. It begins with the building, a mid-century classic by modernist architect Emmanuel Vourekas, and the interiors, by the contemporary design agency K-Studio, use vintage and vintage-inspired elements to celebrate the era of the building’s construction." - Tablet Hotels

Each time we return to Athens, we choose Brown Hotel, and it feels like arriving at a familiar temple of beauty and warmth. The atmosphere greets you like an old friend — the scents, the textures, the light. Yet what truly makes this place divine is the spirit that lives within it. The people here don’t just serve — they care, they radiate kindness, and their energy lifts you higher. Especially thanks for Steve, he is the energy of care and good vibe. It’s as if the whole hotel breathes inspiration, reminding us why we keep coming back again and again. |Bring it Back 🤩

We have had a wonderful stay at this hotel. All staff were welcoming, friendly and very efficient.|The hotel and our room was very clean and comfortable. I had booked a cosy room as we were only staying a short time, we found the room to be well above expectations. Many reviews state the cosy rooms are small, but we found the room a good size and there was a balcony. |There was a small fridge - perfect for keeping drinks cool and a safe.|We ate at the roof top bar in the evenings due to convenience, there is a good selection of food and all meals were delicious. Breakfast was fresh and generous with a lot of choice (hot and cold options).|The views from the rooftop restaurant and bar were stunning. |Its a very easy walk to other more touristic areas of Athens. There are some reviews stating Omonia is a run down area, however this was not our experience. Omonia is a busy working area of Athens, with lots to offer.|In our opinion this hotel is perfectly placed for exploring Athens. |Thank you to all staff for a wonderful stay.|Efcharisto!

Price-Performance with 250 Euro a night completely unjustified Unfortunately, the room did not justify the price of €250 per night. It urgently needs a thorough deep cleaning and light renovation. Dirt was visible in corners, doors and faucets were damaged, and even the curtains appeared neglected. In my view, the hotel deliberately uses its “vintage design” as a pretext to mask the real need for a professional, profound cleaning and much needed repairs of visible damage – clever, but not transparent or acceptable for guests. On the positive side, the staff was very friendly. The only drawback from a client experience perspective: at check-out, no feedback was requested regarding my stay, which, as an expert in client experience, I consider a valuable opportunity for data collection. Overall, the price-performance ratio is not justified, and I would not stay here again.

Convenient location and in walking distance to local shopping and dining establishments. Complete rooftop breakfast experience. Hotel attendants were very attentive, responsive and congenial. Steve and fellow attendants kept our group bathed in attention, recommended local attractions and referred and made reservations for us at the Ithaki Restaurant where we enjoyed fine dining and live entertainment. Recently returned from a 4 night stay at this beautiful hotel for my 60th birthday treat from my wife. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we had a fantastic time.||The welcome glass of Prosecco was a real nice touch.||Could not fault anything. Beautiful room, fantastic rooftop bar and terrace, and in a great location. Staff were so friendly too.||Had read some negative reviews on the location in Omonia Square, but I can honestly say we had no issues whatsoever, and found the area to be convenient for visiting the main attractions in Athens.||Food and cocktails were great in the rooftop terrace, as was the breakfast each day. The views from the rooftop were "to die for", especially the Acroplis.||The hot tubs to soak in when we came back from exploring Athens each day was great, and the temp in them set perfectly.||A special thank you for the bottle of Prosecco, plate of fruit and Loukoumi delivered to the room as a birthday gift, it was really appreciated.||We 100% plan to return some day, sooner rather than later we hope.

Lovely clean posh hotel. Fab views, love having use of hot tubs all day and all staff are lovely and go above and beyond! Especially Steve, he kept the drinks flowing! So nice to have use of private sauna too.

We stayed at Brown Acropol for a few nights. Nothing to say about the staff at the reception and the housekeeping team – they were all very friendly and helpful. However, the staff in the restaurant could be a bit more welcoming and smile more. Although the hotel is rated as 4 stars, I personally wouldn’t consider it on the same level as other 4-star hotels in different countries. I would say it feels more like a 3-star overall. The common areas do look like 4-star, but the rooms are not very modern, the bathroom shows signs of wear and tear, and the air conditioning does not always work properly. The breakfast buffet was also quite limited, especially compared to other 4-star hotels I’ve experienced abroad. On the positive side, the rooftop is beautiful and offers a stunning view of the Acropolis – definitely a highlight. The location is very central, within walking distance to Athens city centre and with the metro literally just steps away. However, the area itself is not ideal; it doesn’t feel very safe and you always have to be on your guard.

Loved the super comfy bed and thoughtful amenities. Staff were very helpful. The rooftop restaurant offers stunning Parthenon views and a delicious menu—although service can be slow and kitchen closing needs to be clearly communicated to current diners. Hotel is in a great location, just a short walk (10-15 mins) to the buzzing restaurant district with plenty of options to explore.||Several great sandwich/pastry shops on the same square great to grab for a more affordable breakfast or to take with you for a days sightseeing.
