Brown Acropol by Brown Hotels (Athens, Greece) 9 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The first of the Israeli-based Brown hotels to open in Greece, Brown Acropol aims to recreate a very specific vision of Athens: not the classical history for which the city is most famous so much as the high modernism and hedonistic glamour of the swinging Sixties and Seventies. It begins with the building, a mid-century classic by modernist architect Emmanuel Vourekas, and the interiors, by the contemporary design agency K-Studio, use vintage and vintage-inspired elements to celebrate the era of the building’s construction." - Tablet Hotels

Stayed 3 nights at Brown Acropol during the Athens Bar Show, and this was my second stay with the Brown Hotels group (after BoBo in Tel Aviv). I enjoy discovering conceptual hotel gems, and Brown once again delivers something different. ✅ Positive side: - Excellent central location near Omonia metro, walking distance to key sights and very convenient for Technopolis. - Bold, retro-inspired interior design — colourful, vibrant, and full of personality. It’s refreshing to see a hotel that avoids the usual generic décor and dares to build a concept. - Friendly and helpful staff; service felt warm throughout the stay. - Rooftop jacuzzi and bar/restaurant with spectacular Athens views - a highlight both day and night. - The room I stayed in was comfortable, well-equipped, and matched the hotel’s creative vibe. - Fair pricing for spa/massage — great value for a quick recharge after long days at an event. - Breakfast was good, and the rooftop setting makes mornings especially enjoyable. 🔽 One downside: I was given an interconnected room without being informed, and noise from next door was clearly audible. Hotels should notify guests or offer a choice - so it’s worth checking this before arrival. I’d deduct 0.5 star for this, but since that isn’t possible and 4 stars would be unfair to the overall experience, I’m giving 5 with this note.

We had an absolutely incredible stay at the Brown Acropol hotel in Athens. From start to finish the service was exceptional- the staff at reception, breakfast and housekeeping all go above and beyond to ensure that you have the best possible stay. i have never encountered a hotel to be so generous- free water bottles in the fridge everyday, fully stocked bathroom with everything you could need, robes and even free nuts when ordering drinks at the bar! our booking through jet2 had a system error which meant that it didn’t automatically include our breakfast, but despite this- the staff both at the reception and the breakfast buffet dealt with the issue seamlessly and without any trouble!! in terms of the breakfast buffet itself, WOW!! absolutely fantastic- which increased even more so when i figured out how to make myself an iced coffee. there is a great selection of foods from cereals, pastries, traditional greek options and hot options to choose from!! i especially enjoyed the pancakes, the sweet bougatsa and the beef sausages. 😍 a lot of the reviews mentioned the rough nature of the surrounding area, so naturally i felt quite nervous for this stay. however, these nerves were unfounded as i deduce that these reviews were simply written by snobs who can’t stand the reality of people being brought up in situations less fortunate, or spoon-fed, than their own. yes, there are a few homeless dotted around the local area and no, they will not do anything to harm you. maybe even take it as a chance to check your own privilege whilst visiting a country that is not your own. the location of the hotel couldn’t have been more convenient- we are walkers at heart but even still there was absolutely no need for public transport other than to access the airport. everything was within a 10-30 minute walking range, and there are some fantastic cafes/restaurants/sights on the way. the streets as a whole are completely clean and locals are very kind- with most if not all of them speaking english. overall, if we ever return to athens we will 100% be using this hotel again

From check-in, to departure we had a great trip. The hotel is super cool and funky with a great 70’s soundtrack playing from the moment you walk in through the doors. |Steve was the first point of contact at the hotel with a glass of bubbles in our hand whilst we checked in. |The rooms were all as expected - funky, retro and super comfortable beds , more than adequate for a city break. |The breakfasts on the roof were delicious and the views didn’t disappoint. We were blessed with beautiful weather and enjoyed some delicious meals local to the hotel. |Thanks again Steve and team - you’re doing a great job 👏🏽 x

Each time we return to Athens, we choose Brown Hotel, and it feels like arriving at a familiar temple of beauty and warmth. The atmosphere greets you like an old friend — the scents, the textures, the light. Yet what truly makes this place divine is the spirit that lives within it. The people here don’t just serve — they care, they radiate kindness, and their energy lifts you higher. Especially thanks for Steve, he is the energy of care and good vibe. It’s as if the whole hotel breathes inspiration, reminding us why we keep coming back again and again. |Bring it Back 🤩

We have had a wonderful stay at this hotel. All staff were welcoming, friendly and very efficient.|The hotel and our room was very clean and comfortable. I had booked a cosy room as we were only staying a short time, we found the room to be well above expectations. Many reviews state the cosy rooms are small, but we found the room a good size and there was a balcony. |There was a small fridge - perfect for keeping drinks cool and a safe.|We ate at the roof top bar in the evenings due to convenience, there is a good selection of food and all meals were delicious. Breakfast was fresh and generous with a lot of choice (hot and cold options).|The views from the rooftop restaurant and bar were stunning. |Its a very easy walk to other more touristic areas of Athens. There are some reviews stating Omonia is a run down area, however this was not our experience. Omonia is a busy working area of Athens, with lots to offer.|In our opinion this hotel is perfectly placed for exploring Athens. |Thank you to all staff for a wonderful stay.|Efcharisto!

We stayed at the brown hotel acropol for 4 nights for our honeymoon and we are extremely impressed at the service that the brown hotel staff provided. They gave us a complimentary glass of wine and prosecco as a congratulatory gift and gave us the best service, always looking to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I left my spectacles behind and they still kept it for me after so many days. I would highly encourage everyone to stay with them if you are in Athens. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

We had a great 4 nights stay at this hotel.|Nice glass of fizz on arrival and checkin was relaxed. Very happy with our room, we booked a balcony room. Clean and comfortable, we slept well even being on a busy road. Decor is retro and funky. Staff very friendly. Breakfast with a view as it’s in the roof top restaurant, plenty of hot and cold choice. Good quality. Evening views are fabulous from the bar. We found location great, turn right and take either 1st or 2nd exit off roundabout. Lots of bars and restaurants. Metro outside is easy to use to travel further afield. We accidentally came back up the road to the left of the hotel, not a tourist area just a typical side street in a city. We felt safe no concerns. Definitely recommend.

In the more run down district of Athens. Leave and turn right it is ok. Would not recommend turning left as you leave. Had 2 single rooms and they were absolutely tiny. No shower curtain. Water everywhere after a shower Staff were however very good Rooftop bar and restaurant was very good if a little pricey
