Google
Always a treat to find grape nut on an ice cream menu: that’s a must order. This is richly flavorful ice cream in a cozy little storefront. Highly recommended.

I stopped by for a treat and left feeling more confused than satisfied. I ordered a cup that was clearly listed at $4.50, but somehow ended up paying $6.75 before tip. When I asked, the employee (who acted like they’d rather be anywhere else) told me it was because the flavor had oat milk — an upcharge that wasn’t posted anywhere. For what amounted to barely a scoop of ice cream, it felt more like a surprise fee than a fair price. The ice cream did taste good but it was a bummer experience.

Highly recommend! My favorite ice cream store in the country, no exaggeration. Today I tried the pumpkin pie, along with pistachio and chocolate. All were delicious. Will be back!

Google
Delicious! Can’t wait to go again. My current favorite is the lemon cookie flavor. They have dairy, non dairy, and vegan options. They also sell cakes and slices as well! My husband enjoyed the vanilla bourbon flavor and the small cone.

Google
Brilliant flavorful gelato with classical and a few unique flavors (12 with 4 vegan) such as ube and lychee pear, decent portions and good prices ($7.75 for 3 scoops) and they allow sampling (2). They also have pastries, ample seating inside and outside and some merchandise. Will recommend. My favorite flavors were the lychee pear sorbet (both fruits flavors come out great and it was really refreshing) and the ube (a lovely nutty vanilla-ish taste). The vegan raspberry oat was also quite good. The shop is women and black owned and they make the ice cream onsite.

10 out of 10 i don't even like ice cream like that, but it's a hundred in one degrees today. And let's just say i'm leaving with something! Lol today i have the oat raspberry swirl, which is their vegan option using oat milk. It was really, really, really good. I highly recommend ask for a taste first if you're unsure, but it was amazing and I did it on the waffle cone. I can't wait to go back because everybody's been raving about this Ube. Ice cream, which I would like to try. This is a great neighborhood spot. I love that it's a black owned business as well. Keep up the great work! I'm mad. I missed that pumpkin flavor I saw someone post about as well so. Ube, pumpkin and pistachio is on my list to try next! And maybe that caramel crunch sounds amazing, looks divine lol no photo, because I demolished, it literally took it all the way down! So yummy! ;)

Google
I had the passion fruit and Rasberry oat. The passion fruit was great!! It taste exactly like passion fruit and had like a passion fruit custard in it. The Rasberry oat was okay. It was $1 extra for it which I wasn’t told there would be an upcharge. It isn’t any signs that shows which icecream/sorbet is extra. I think they should implement it so customers are aware or servers should state that it would be an extra upcharge. I sampled the soursop and I didn’t really taste any flavor. Definitely try the 2 samples.

My friend and I went for ice cream yesterday and loved it! The costumer service and atmosphere was great. I got three scoops (caramel cookie crunch, cookie n cream and raspberry oats) and red velvet cake. My absolute favorite was “caramel cookie crunch”, if you like caramel, you must try that flavor. My friend got two scoops (cookies n cream and chocolate), as well as chocolate cake. 10/10 recommend!

Yelp
Delicious!! My partner and I chose to share 3 different scoops - ube, bourbon vanilla, and cookies & cream. Ube was the unanimous winner, but we enjoyed all 3 as they were deliciously creamy. Scoops are a good size and priced appropriately. Would recommend!

Yelp
I had a taste for some Brooklyn Babycakes and heard they carried them in the creamery and also Brown Butter (cafe) sometimes, so I stopped in. Before I got a chance to ask, I was instantly drawn to the vibrant colors of gelato in the case. *Takes mental note: Ube and Bourbon Vanilla. Sadly there were none, but I ended up with a free scoop, courtesy of a photographer taking shots for a publication! And lo and behold, it was ube, yeeeaaaauuuhhhh!!!!! I snuck a taste and let me tell you, it was delicious. So velvety, full of real ube flavor, not that weird artificial taste or dyed vanilla (its the Pinoy kind of ube, iykyk!). I know I will be back, not only because the cakes will get you, but this gelato will too.

Yelp
I had the coco loco Ice cream. It was delicious but the serving are too small for the price. The slice of cake was $6.50. We tried the coconut Flavored cake and it was delicious, moist and fresh.

Yelp
Place was ok. Nothing special. I don't think they will last long in business because the owner is rude and needs to do better.

Yelp
While I love Brown Butter and am super excited for them in this journey of expanding into ice cream, I cannot believe I paid $18- $20 with tax for a pint of ice cream! That is just way too over priced! It doesn't align with the 1-2 scoops prices either. I thought I was doing a good deed support this business and grabbing some ice cream to go but I felt feeling taken advantage of. The ube was really good and creamy however I definitely would not purchase a pint from here again. You can buy one for half the price from the 100s of other ice cream shops in the area or just go to the grocery store for 1/3 of the price.

Yelp
Ube Ube Ube - I am so happy that this place carries this flavour. I didn't think it would, because there isn't a large Filipino community here. I think Trader Joe's introduced Ube to the masses, but I want to say I tried TJ's and it's not good at all. I don't understand the hype, but this place did my Ube justice. LOVE LOVE LOVE - Don't change a thing about this flavour and please keep it in stock. It should be dark purple, not lavender like the ones at TJ.

Yelp
Brown butter has thee best Banana Bread and biscuits!!! I'm definitely adding this gem to my stable of brunch spots for 2024 on Sundays. Their breakfast combo is bomb and please get the gravy as well!!! Also it's a definite must to get the eggs and cheese biscuit sandwich with avacados on it ‍

Yelp
What a wonderful addition to the neighborhood! An extension of the famed Brown Butter (if you haven't definitely go try their chicken biscuit sandwich!) located just down the street on Tompkins Ave, the Creamery is the perfect place for a scoop of gelato or sorbet on a hot day. They have a variety of flavors that rotate and offer 3 different types of cone on which to enjoy your frozen treat. Their desserts are also made in house as an added bonus. Great place to bring family and friends alike. This side of BedStuy was missing a sweets shop and Brown Butter is stepping up to fill that need.

Yelp
Here you go Bedsty ! Got yourselves a fine fine gelato ! Excellent texture !!! Fantastic flavors !!! I tried this time the chocolate hazelnut & cookies and cream both were great . I assume the sorbets are great as well but I will Leave it to the vegans ;) Highly recommended!!!

Yelp
The ice cream is great. The prices are maybe double what you expect and they are not posted on the freezer so I got a shock at the register and Im not frugal at all. Because of that I probably wont go back, but if that were to change I would rate them much higher. Service was pleasant. We tried and do recommend the ube, passion fruit, bourbon vanilla.

Yelp
It's good. The service is nice. Got a scoop with a sugar cone of red velvet and it was delicious. My on got his in a cup. No complaints just good ice cream in a local spot. Cannot complain.

Yelp
One of the best gelaterias I have visited. I've traveled a bit and have tasted ice cream from various countries, Italy being one of my favorites. After tasting the Brown Butter gelato, I can attest that this might be at the top of the list. Perhaps number one. The Best!

Yelp
It was my first time visiting. Had the cherry vanilla which was great. There were plenty other flavors to choose from. Glad to see a gelato place in the neighborhood.

Leelee R.

Yelp
The flavors are special and we get to sample a few before making a decision . I really like Ube. Passion fruit sorbet was a bit too sour but maybe because I had it after Ube ice cream which is super sweet. The waffle cone was really good. Would give 5 stars if the price is a bit lower.

Yelp
Really good gelato. Nice service. Nice place in a cute part of Bed-Stuy. Recommend! !

Claire L.

Yelp
Great ice cream but they looked at me like I had 8 heads when I asked for tap water for my dogs on a 90 degree day. I was a paying customer.

Josh S.

Yelp
It's decent gelato, yes. But the scoops are ridiculously small. Two single scoops in a cup ran over $10. Walked one block and were finished with what was basically a spoonful. $5 is pretty average for a scoop nowadays but this left me feeling like I was being ripped off. I love Brown Butter Kitchen, but this feels like they're testing how little they can get away with serving for a premium price.
