As COVID-19 Closes Restaurants, Expect No Rush to Fill Real Estate Vacancies | Eater Chicago

"I reported that Brown Sugar Bakery, the 16-year-old Chatham bakery (with other still-closed locations at Navy Pier and in Austin), closed when COVID hit but began slowly reopening around Mother’s Day; the owner is exploring a farmers market inside the Austin location and a bakery truck for mobile pop-ups, leases on 75th Street, secured a PPP loan in the second round and had a landlord who allowed deferred rent until funding arrived." - Ari Bendersky

Shout out to this dynamic duo for creating a delicious and community centric business. I love the lemon pound cake and butter crunch flavors. The two owners are not only great bakers, but kind human beings. As long as I live in Austin I will support them.❤️❤️❤️

I’ve never had a cookie I didn’t LOVE from this place! They are hands down my favorite cookie spot in ATX! And the owners are just as sweet! And if you have a chance to try their Butter Crunch cookie, it’s AMAZE.

The fruity pebbles cheesecake cookie is bomb. I love the presentation and they have the cutest bags. If your in the neighborhood check them out.

Blown away by the mango cheesecake cookie. Almost a danish-like consistency but they NAILED it with making it crispier like a cookie. Plus there was a subtle spice to it that balanced the sweetness. I’m not even a cookie lover like that but this changed my mind. No photo cuz I ate it that fast, you’ll have to find one to see😜

Absolutely amazing cookies. I am so obsessed with the quality of each cookie from this bake shop. Also the owners are absolutely precious and you can tell they are both very passionate about making high quality, artisan cookies. But that's not all! They also offer little cakes, chocolate chip croissants, and more. Check them out!

Local owned cookie trailer tucked away on the east side with the most welcoming owners and bakers! Every cookie I’ve tried has been the most delicious cookie I’ve ever bought. This is a weekly stop for me. Always trying new flavors of cookies for different seasons and ALSO cinnamon rolls, cakes, and breads from time to time. Each dessert is made with love (And butter 💕) and you can definitely tell. Maurice and Fred are the absolute sweetest people around. Give them your business! You will not regret it.

Probably some of the best cookies you’ll find in Austin. Frederick and Maurice are the friendliest and most talented humans you will meet. The lemon pound cake cookie is exactly that! Thick, soft and just the right amount of sweet and citrus. The choco chip is loaded with chocolate, it is just the perfect cookie. I highly recommend stopping by and getting one with your coffee next door.

I got a chocolate chip cookie and 2 chive and Parmesan biscuits. The biscuits were incredible but the cookie was hard and crunchy which I didn’t expect. Also, it was pretty pricey at $19 for only 3 items and I tipped 15% so for me it wasn’t really worth it.
