Went out to downtown Northville and decided to get a drink and bite to eat. It was Tuesday night mid July. I had the Salted Malted Bourbon Pecan shake and my friend ordered the Drunken Muppet I believe (it's the blue one). Mine was delicious hers not so much. For $17.50 each, I'd rather make them at home and get more bang out of my buck. As for the food, Hatch Chile Nachos - not good, cheese curds - I've had better but weren't bad, and the Firecracker shrimp which were fine. All and all, I don't think I'd be back. A bit overpriced and there's better stuff out there.

Had the opportunity to stop into Browndog Barlor for a photo shoot today, and I must say, what a wonderful, cozy downtown restaurant! Manager Paul and Chef Caleb were both pleasant to talk to for organization and really passionate about their craft. All the food looks exceptionally well made and is reasonably priced for a downtown establishment. Browndog really seems to focus on breakfast, but they do have quite a variety of menu items to choose from as well as their bar selection and a lot of ice cream too! If you are around the Northville area, stop in and give them a try!

I think I was bamboozled by Instagram photos of a burger and my food looked nothing like the photos. The smashburger was a trash burger dry and flavorless. Only thing I liked was the servers because they were the best great attitude. The french fries were good after I sent them back because they were overcooked, Brown and hard. I couldn't believe how dry my burger was. My recommendation is just because it's a smash Burger that you don't need to cook it till there's no life left in it. Not sure what ounce Burger it was, but if you going to shrink the meat down you should have the buns to be smaller. Everyone in my group complained about the chairs but they enjoyed themselves as it was a get-together. I guess I would recommend this place for the ice cream and not for the restaurant part

It’s not often you go to an ice cream parlor and leave smelling like a you spent some time getting cozy with a deep fryer. Overall, I like the concept but they need to work on a couple things to live up to expectations. We went for dinner and both ended up getting burgers; Bacon Brie Burger with Browndog fries for myself, Beer Chz Burger with house fries for the wife. She said her burger was very good but was extremely messy. Fries were very good also. My burger left much to be desired but the fries were good. My main issue with the burgers are they advertise them as smash burger but in reality they are just thin, dry, flavorless patties that do not exhibit the signature rough edges and caramelized bits that would usually add flavor. This needs to be fixed if they’re going to claim they are serving a real smash burger. The brie curds didn’t add much flavor to my burger either. Might have been overcooked. We finished our meal off with boozy shakes; Salted Malted Bourbon Pecan for me and the Salty Sailor for my wife. Both were very good and the highlight of the visit even though very expensive. The best part is they are part of the social district so you can grab your shake and go somewhere else!

This was my first visit to Browndog Barlor® & Restaurant for dinner, and I absolutely loved the ambience and service. Despite its small size, the place looks cute in the downtown area. We went as a group of 8 and ordered 2 starters, 4 main courses, and an ice cream flight where you can choose 4 flavors. The average bill for 2 people was $45. I highly recommend the following dishes: chicken nachos, street corn, habanero fire fries (not too spicy), duck fries, and the Bdog burger. However, I would suggest avoiding the Nashville hot chix sandwich as it wasn't hot and a bit oily compared to the rest. When it comes to the ice cream, I loved the cherry fudge which had a sweet mix of brownie and cherry flavors, as well as the salt dog with its sea salt caramel taste. My least favorite ice cream flavor was 'who needs a therapist' as it had a predominantly peanut butter flavor and less of a dark chocolate taste. Overall, I highly recommend this place and I'm looking forward to coming back for brunch next time.

Google
This place rocked tonight. Normally I've only come in here for ice cream, a boozy shake or a couple of beers on the go. However we decided to have dinner here tonight and it didn't disappoint, hatch nachos with chorizo definitely hit the spot! The sweet potato fries with the cinnamon dipping sauce was by far the best I've had anywhere else. Kids loved the flight of ice cream and my wife loved the shrimp salad. Since this place has always been a go-to place for a quick stop, we'll definitely be coming back for dinner again soon! Service was very good and friendly. Had a chance to meet the owner and chat a couple of minutes to share my great experience. Cheers!

Google
I came to this establishment for Sunday Brunch. They have a designated menu just for brunch. Hands down, suggest getting the Coconut Blood Orange Sorbet Mimosa or a least a scoop of this sorbet! They have an array of ice cream or sorbets to choose from. There wasn't a huge selection of options for brunch but the ones tried were outstanding ! They have additional seating outside beside the small indoor family type setting. They seem to always be a festival or something going on downtown Northville! Perfect spot for people watching and enjoying brunch!

Google
Drove over an hour to visit Browndog because I saw it on Food Network. They no longer carried the macncheese with pulled pork that I saw on tv, but they did have the boozey shakes. The food was ok, but nothing special or worth driving an hour for. The shakes were good but not worth $17.50 EACH! They were in a plastic cup rather than nicely done in a glass (as seen on tv). The macncheese was somehow burnt, but my husband refused to say something because he's afraid people will mess with his food. Needless to say, we were all definitely disappointed. I have never spent $238 to feed my family of 5, even when I've gone to a steak restaurant with drinks included! Our server was nice, but it didn't change our disappointment. The town and atmosphere are absolutely beautiful, but I'd probably go somewhere else to eat to get my money's worth.

Yelp
Food was really tasty! Fire fries for spicy people only, I would say. Ambience was nice. Very busy but great service.

Yelp
Great place for kids, families, couples and, very importantly, doggies are very welcome! Super fun vibe for spirits, ice cream, with booze or not...and did I mention, delicious snacks and food, including brunch! We love eating outside, relaxing and enjoying the goings-on in Northville. The service is outstanding, attentive and friendly! Browndog is a true local gem and a wonderful part of the Northville community! There is something for everyone to enjoy!

Yelp
If you're lookin' for a chill spot in Northville to satisfy your sweet tooth, Browndog's where it's at! Food: First off, let's talk about the goodies. Browndog's got the scoop on some seriously delish ice cream. Like, we're talkin' flavors like Fanta and pecan pie. I did get a board thought got it take out and they had variety of sauces and cheese curd. The funny part was in the to go box it looked like a deconstructed hot dog but it was pretty good! Service: The vibe here is super laid-back, and the crew is friendly. Ambience: Browndog's got that cool neighborhood hangout feel, definitely a nice late snack!

Yelp
We had an excellent meal at Browndog Barlor. The staff was great, the presentation of all the food was superb, as was the flavor. We ordered the Browndog Fries at the recommendation of a friend. They were so flavorful and unique. I would definitely order them again. I ordered the fish tacos, which were also nicely prepared and flavorful. My dining partners split the fish and chips, which was a good choice because one order was more than they could eat. The chef arranged the two curled pieces of fish to make a heart on a mountain of fries. For dessert, we split the four serving tasting sampler. We all had a different favorite but my favorite was "Who Needs a Therapist" which was dark chocolate and peanut butter. We'll definitely be going back and bringing friends.

Yelp
Brown dog has good food and ice cream, but is pricey. If we come back, I would come when they are having specials, but this won't be in our regular rotation. Brown dog is a bit dark inside and set up like a pub with bar seating and booths on the other side. I ordered the pimento cheese burger. I was surprised by how sweet it was and found the bacon jam overpowering. I paid more for truffle fries, but they didn't take like truffle to me, not even slightly. It came with a cup of mayonnaise aka "garlic aioli." I believe the burger was around $17 and added more for the truffle fries. My husband liked the bulgogi hoagie, but it didn't come with a side or any fries. Our server was great, and I loved how much of a fan she was of the ice cream. She shared all kinds of fun details about her favorites. We also have tried their ice cream. It was really good. I tried the one with both regular and yellow Oreos. My husband got blueberry pancakes. The ice cream was the best part.

Yelp
We have been to Browndog for ice cream in the past, but decided to try dinner this evening. One of the owners, Paul, greeted us when we arrived. We sat in a small two seater table in their perfectly intimate dining room. For dinner I ordered the Bulgogi Hoagie (Korean marinated beef) and an order of Tangier's (onion straws. The bulgogi hoagie was served in a lobster roll style bun, that was super soft. The beef was super tender with some veggie that gave a nice little crunch. The star was really the Tangier's that were served in a cute little fry basket. My wife loved the Tanglers so much she took ate a bunch of mine. My wife ordered the southwest Chicken salad. It was a very well portioned salad and had a lot of toppings. This was probably the least standout of our meal, but a good choice for those looking for something lighter. We ended our meal with some ice cream. The waiter told us the mini size were golf ball sized, so we ordered a few different flavors. The servings were much more generous than described. I ordered the cereal milk, choc and Rye (Faygo inspired) and blueberry pancake. The cereal milk tasted like fruity pebbles at the end of the bowl (super nostalgic). Choc and Rye had a slight hint of Faygo Rock and Rye with chunks of brownie. My favorite was the blueberry pancake; it was sweet, but super balanced with blueberry jam and pancake bites in it. This is a great spot for sharing small plates. Next time we plan to try the adult boozy shakes and some of the appetizers. One of the best spots in Northville for sure. Thanks for great food and great service.

Yelp
Second time here. Had the burger with pimento cheese and bacon jam. The bacon jam is mixed with the barbecue sauce. A little too much sauce over powering the rest of the ingredients. The fries were warmer than the first visit. They want you to get the menu from a qr code and pay the bill with another qr code. With all the discussion about self check out at grocery stores. This is the same scenario instead of doing the work of the checkout, you end up doing the job and the server.

Yelp
This is my 2nd time here. (1st was for brunch & with another person.) Hostess was behind the ice cream counter. She then moved to behind the podium. I was seated immediately. Only 1 other couple seated & finishing up at 430p. Seating is tight. There's a long bench opposite the with 9 tables. 2 of which are 4 seaters. The rest are spaced along the bench for 2 person tables. Between the chairs & bar is a high bench with 15 high stools on the side closest to the long bench. Don't expect any sort of stretching out at peak hours/days. Upgraded to truffle fries. Those and my burger were DELICIOUS. Only complaint was that I didn't taste any spice on my spicy bacon burger, but that's minor compared to how good it was.

Yelp
Came by here in the summer for a bite with my family and what a pleasure it was! We had my mom's dog with us and they kindly let us sit with her on their (covered) patio. The patio, directly out front, stretches out into the street which they close to car traffic during the summer months. I was feeling traditional that night and went for a cheeseburger, fries, and a shake. But the beauty is that even the traditional is a bit interesting here. The shake? Boozy. I got the Drunken Muppet (which was their blue "Kookie for Cookies" ice cream mixed with chocolate vodka, dark chocolate liqueur, and cookie pieces topped with whipped cream) for eats I got the bacon brie burger (which was topped with fried brie curds, thick cut bacon, arugula, and jam) and upgraded the standard fries to a side of their truffle fries. Delicious! My family also ordered the soft pretzel starter to split and it was also quite good. Came with three dips though the group favorite was the IPA beer cheese. Not up for a whole meal? You can also just pop in to their ice cream counter to get a scoop or a cup or pints to go. I did the latter and grabbed two pints on our way out to take home with me that night so my husband and I got to enjoy the delicious flavors like Midnight Cherry Fudge and Brookie Dough for the next few nights! A very pleasant experience all around and I look forward to coming back again soon!

Yelp
Came on a Sunday evening for dinner with a friend. We opted for outdoor seating and had an amazing waitress - extremely attentive and friendly. I ordered a Diet Coke, the Southwest Chicken Cesar Wrap and upgraded to truffle fries. The wrap was small than I expected and I wish there was more sauce, but overall it was pretty good. The fries came in a large portion however the truffle seasoning was a miss for me. I am a lover of truffle but the powder they used didn't have a lot of flavor; drizzling with truffle oil would totally take it up a notch! To me, it wasn't worth the $4 upgrade. My friend ordered one of the speciality burgers and said it was good. We finished dinner with some ice cream. I tried the chocolate lockdown which was yummy and generous portion size. My friend got the salted malted butter pecan and it was DELICIOUS; I will be coming back just for that. Overall great experience, food, and ice cream. Prices are on the higher side but it's to be expected for downtown Northville.

Yelp
Second time visiting Browndog Barlor and I wasn't particularly hungry. That turned out to be a good thing - I ordered the Chorizo Tacos, which turned out to be pretty tiny. If I had been hungry, the two tacos would not have been enough for a meal, and at $11.95 it was pricey for what I received. Having said that, the flavor was amazing! If you can stomach paying $5.98 per teeny tiny taco, get these. Just make sure you order a side if you're hungry. I was thoroughly disappointed by the Brookie ice cream I tried. The flavor of the brownie batter ice cream was pretty non-descript. I did like the cookie dough chunks, but it wasn't enough to save the ice cream. Also, the scoop had large chunks of ice in it. Very unpleasant!

Yelp
First time at this establishment and I was quite pleased with all aspects of our dining experience from the quality of our food, to the friendly service and lastly the casual comfortable dining environment. For our entree's we ended up getting the Bacon Brie Burger with truffle fries and the Southwest Chicken Ceasar wrap with sweet potato fries. Relative to the burger, it was well cooked where the Brie cheese in combination with the bacon formed a very tasty combination that complemented the beef very nicely. The truffle fries were equally tasty with a nice crunchy texture and the truffle notes taking these fries to the next level for me. Nice! My wife's Southwest chicken wrap was good as well but definately a notch believe my burger where the sweet potato fries were the highlite of her meal. As it was Happy Hour while we were there (Tues thru Fri 4 - 6PM) we ended up getting two Old Fashions that were included in the Happy Hour options for $8. This was a bit of a surprise and delight in my opinion as you dont usually see Old Fashions discounted at the restaurants and Bars in the area. The drink itself was well made using Evan Williams Bourbon (average Bourbon ) and Fabbri Amarena Cherries which is a superior cocktail cherry. Choice of Cherries are an understated critical component in making a "Good" Old Fashion where most businesses in this area use cheap red cherries for their cocktails which is such a let down when you get to the end of your drink anticipating nibbling on a good cherry. Another key item to mention is the staffs flexibility when making my Cocktails as they added orange peel and some of the cherry syrup to my drink which I requested which was greatly appreciated and is more in tune with how I like my Old Fashions. Two thumbs up here for taking care of your customers needs/desires and not going the easy route by saying they cant do it! Lastly, you can get a top shelf Old Fashion here as well using superior Bourbon like Woodford Reserve if that is too your liking but you will pay a premium for a drink like this which is to be expected. The other key aspect to mention about this business was their staff which were super friendly with great follow up throughout our meal where it was clear that they cared you were happy with all aspects of your dining experience. Definately a strength of this business which sadly is lacking with many of the other businesses in our area, especially post Covid. Overall we were very pleased with our first meal here and will definately be returning in the near future to experience more of their menu and of course do this during Happy Hour! I do love my Old Fashions!

Yelp
Cute place loved being able to eat outside with our dog in her stroller - had my first Faygo rootbeer float - hubby and I had burgers - mine was the pimento burger delicious and we liked the salt and pepper shoe string fries - our waitress was very attentive checking on us multiple times - i thought prices were high but everything is these days

James S.

Yelp
Love their chicken waffles! It's lovely to bring my dogs too. Great experience overall

Jill H.

Yelp
Got there just in time for no wait on a Friday evening. Prompt service, good food and ice cream. We enjoyed our two dishes, Nashville hot chicken (cluckin hot WAS indeed super SPICY) and fish tacos (menu - Caribbean tacos). Fries done to a nice crisp without being over cooked. Street corn appetizer is more fit for a side as plating for an appetizer is kind of awkward. Tastes good though, a tad spicy. Ice cream - Black and white ice cream is a great scoop, blueberry pancake was as-described but I never care for the concentrated maple syrup flavor. Warm conditions allow for additional seating and prompt service. Recommend for smaller parties (4) as there isn't much room in or outside to assemble more.

Lisa F.

Yelp
Sat at the bar on a busy Saturday, I think the kids were trick or treating downtown Northville that evening. I had a great cocktail, pretzel sticks appetizer with great mustard! Prices were higher than I'd have guessed, but I like that you could take your cocktail to go, so we did.

Bailey ..

Yelp
We went here for my sister in law's 21st birthday and it was a cool atmosphere. It's a half ice cream shop / half bar experience. We were only on the first floor in the front, which has a nice long countertop with several stools. Ice cream was really good, people were nice, and overall had a nice time. They were close-ish to closing - or at least they were acting like they were (cleaning a lot and shifting chairs around us and such) because the sign still said they were open for a few more hours - which was kind of off putting, but everyone has bad days, eh? Overall really good.

Chiara N.

Yelp
i was happy to see that this place was lively around 6:30pm on a wednesday!! service was quick and very friendly. food was pretty great too! finished the night with some ice cream, i got cappuccino chip. it was delicious! definitely recommend if you're a coffee lover

Emily S.

Yelp
We visited BrownDog on 6/22/24. Our server Lizzy was very friendly. Our food: very overpriced for burger and fish fry. My fish was $21 bc I asked for a side of BD slaw (which came in a small condiment cup same size as ketchup ($1 for this) Fish was mostly breaded and the actual fish inside was mushy and scarce. Definitely not worth $20. My husband ordered the bacon-Brie burger $17.50 that was very small and not juicy. Our fries were fantastic! We ordered two boozy shakes that were tasty, but prices were pretty steep. 1. Plastered pony $18 2. Mocha under the influence $17.50 Our appetizer the Chorizo Lime Nachos at a staggering price of $15.50 was good, but subpar quality. Now most establishments would comp a soda if you ordered alcohol, but not here. I ordered lemonade (2.50) that unfortunately didn't include a refill. Overall, I don't think we can go back except to get ice cream. Now ambience: seating was nice until a couple was sat right next to us who were practically on top of any conversation my husband and I were having. The place is cool and fun, but I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're looking for a romantic dinner. It was my husband's birthday dinner and we didn't get any acknowledgment from establishment. Overall, we paid with tip $114 and that's just way too much money, but I guess that's normal Northville prices. I hope my review helps others that are also on a middle income level. Next time if I'm looking to spend $114 we will head up to our local seafood restaurant that should come out to the same price with outstanding service, food and ambiance!

Tiffany Z.

Yelp
Great food, great bar drinks ice cream and regular. Good service and great ice cream. We all ordered something different and all of it was delicious. Fish and chips- with truffle fries: one of the best around Pulled pork tacos : Smokey and moist! Avocado salad: impressive in size and freshness Nashville hot chicken Sammy: super crunchy and I'm not a pickle person but they were so flavorful and crunchy too

Jesus E.

Yelp
Really delicious ice cream! We stopped by here and quickly grabbed a table and ordered some scoops. They have tons of flavors but I kept it simple with a scoop of cold brew mocha and a scoop of vanilla bean. So delicious and creamy! The outdoor seating is perfect for enjoying a nice day with some ice cream and people watching. We had our own brown dog~ with us so we were delighted that we could order him a pooch pup as well. Of course he loved it! Service was very friendly! Our server was super nice to our dog and brought him some water as well.

Sydney R.

Yelp
I am obsessed with Browdog Barlor since first visiting for Brunch! I haven't tried one thing that wasn't good. The Bacon Brie Burger was delightfully cheesy, sweet, and unique. One note - I personally didn't notice any difference or anything especially special between truffle / duck to warrant an additional $4. Every time I go I expect a wait (typically going at busy times) and have never had a wait for a table. The servers are always kind and knowledgeable. Most importantly!! GET ICE CREAM!! I got the MIDNIGHT CHERRY FUDGE & BANANA WALNUT FUDGE and both were amazing.

Ariana S.

Yelp
Great drinks, decent food! It's normally pretty packed so be prepared to wait a bit. They have a cute little outdoor area for eating in the summer. Inside is a little crammed but still a good vibe. The drinks here are pretty good and they have a large selection for shakes and cocktails. The food is decent but nothing to write home about. I would come back for a drink but maybe not a sit down meal. Great time out and great service!

Ann W.

Yelp
It was an unexpectedly beautiful day, after days of cold, wet weather. I dropped by Browndog for dinner, before the covered and heated patio got crowded. The menu is curated: apps, tacos, salad, and burgers/sandwiches. I was immediately drawn to the Mexican corn, roasted corn with queso served in a skillet. It was delightful. The sweet corn was nicely complemented by the cheese and spicy aioli. While I was enjoying the corn, I spied the pretzels ordered by a nearby table and went with that as well. Such an inspired, last-minute choice. The long pretzel sticks were chewy and tender and served with three sauces, white cheddar, grain mustard, and IPA stout cheese. While all of them were tasty, I enjoyed the white cheddar one best. I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich with duck-fat fries for my main. Browndog serves 4 different varieties of fries, the aforementioned duck-fat fries, as well as truffle, habanero, and house (truffle salt, Parmesan, and chocolate). The duck-fat fries were hot and crunchy; I was so impressed by the quality and flavor. The Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich was, however, not great. The chicken portion was thin and dry - similar to what you would find at a second-rate fast food restaurant. So disappointing and the reason for the rating. The menu is interesting so I plan on returning for the grilled cheese and Bulgogi sandwiches. And more importantly, to taste all of the different fries. And nachos. I definitely need to return to check out the nachos - something that I've been craving for over a year now. Service was lovely. The staff at the restaurant worked quickly to seat and serve the influx of guests.

Bernadette B.

Yelp
Huh. It was fine? It was fine. For what it is, the food was fresh and tasty. We didn't have any problem with our food, and our servers were helpful. It just didn't blow me away for what it was. The Browndog fries were... strange? Our server gave us a heads up that there was dark chocolate drizzled on the fries, but we decided we wanted to try it anyway. It was not our thing. Unless you're looking for something decidedly dessert for your french fries, we're going to steer clear of this one in the future. Normal fries were good and tasty though. The prices were a bit pricey too, but that's Downton Northville for you. I just wouldn't be willing to pay that much for this kind of food again. I do enjoy the ice cream flavors. They're fun and creative. We'll probably come back again for just the ice cream, but I don't see us eating at the restaurant again any time soon.

Jennifer W.

Yelp
I had lunch somewhere else in the area so I didn't try the food. The boozy shake was amazing though. I had the Drunken Muppet. It's made with kookie for cookies ice cream, chocolate vodka, dark chocolate liqueur, whipped cream, and cookie pieces. It was just great. I also had a sample of the Faygo Groovy Grape ice cream, and it's a winner also.

Patricia Y.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised by Browndog's brunch. I hadn't realized that Browndog even served brunch! Browndog is located in downtown Northville, and it was so nice to sit outside and enjoy our food while watching other families, kids, and dogs walk by. I ordered the brussels hash, and I must highly recommend it. It was so flavorful and had a deep-fried egg on top. The diced potatoes were fried to perfection! If we came back for brunch, I would 100% order the brussels hash again.

Alex T.

Yelp
Absolutely MAGICAL ice cream. I grew up in Novi, the location of Stuart's, which is an ice cream stand owned by the same people. I remember the owners telling me about when they were looking to open a place in downtown Northville where they could make their own ice cream. That was many years ago now. It took me forever to make it to Browndog, but it didn't disappoint. I really want to try their food options the next time I come. Browndog is THE place to get ice cream in Northville.

Andrea C.

Yelp
My rating is based on ice cream carry out only as we did not have dinner there (yet). I am not able to eat dairy at all and was craving ice cream. So few places carry a dairy free ice cream so I was scoping out where I wanted to go for my sweet treat. I was over the moon to discover that they had an oat milk based cookie butter ice cream and an espresso flavored non-dairy ice cream. I ordered cookie butter and hubby ordered the espresso one so I could try his as well. Both were very good! Browndog Barlor - thank you for making a non dairy, non soy, non sorbet ice cream. Sorbet is "ok" but I can buy that anywhere. Keep making these wonderful vegan ice creams and I'll be back! Dairy eaters: if you have not had non-dairy before, its NOT the same consistency and mouth feel. This ice cream was close but do not order it if you are expecting to get the same exact experience as dairy ice cream.

Rebecca I.

Yelp
The plan wasn't to come here, but we were not disappointed. Great drink selection with booze and ice cream options. The cauliflower appetizer was delicious and spicy. Recommend the truffle fries for sure. The outdoor seating area and cute with very unique decor.

Stacy K.

Yelp
This is such a fun place to come with friends. I remember when Browndog opened and was just an ice cream shop, but since they expanded, I always wanted to try their food and drinks. I have been to their Farmington location with friends in the past, but not this one until now. When you walk in it smells remarkable, like ice cream and cones. It is dark and inviting. We were waited on by two people, a server and the bar tender, they were both really funny and helpful. They made the experience even more enjoyable. The food looked really good! My friends had burgers, Brussels sprouts, and fries. I cannot speak to the food. I had a sparkling raspberry cocktail. It was simply sumptuous. It was prosecco, chambord, and a scoop of sorbet. A drink and a dessert all in one. The perfect treat. They also had some fun adult juice box drinks, some nice beer flights, cocktails, and wines. So fun with friends! They had indoor and outdoor seating. We stayed indoors since it was pouring, but this would be a fun place to eat outdoors. I am not sure if they had happy hour or have happy hours, I did not see any specials, But it was a worthwhile happy hour for us!

Yelp
Still my pandemic fave! HURRY to get your Cadbury Creme Egg Ice cream! It sells out so got mine early- and then just pick another flavor because they're all so good! We went with strawberry malt because they cherry malt was sold out and just as good. They have an oak park location for ice cream pick up only but we wanted a burger so drove out here- love this place!

Yelp
Great cocktails, a cool atmosphere, fun ice cream flavors, and a brunch that looks killer!!

Yelp
Wow. Why didn't I know about this place before! I actually wanted to go to the farmington hills location but they temporarily closed because I believe it's more of a bar than a sit down restaurant. I didn't get to eat the food here sadly because they closed the kitchen but the drinks and ice cream here is amazing! Salted caramel always a hit! Cute date night spot also. Definitely need to come back here!

Yelp
Would I recommend... Yes BUT be warned, the servers are soooo rude. I live in Northville and love their ice cream, love the food, love the location, BUT have to talk myself into going each time because I know I'm going to have to deal with a rude hostess and hit or miss on rudeness of servers. Not sure how the management doesn't see or address. The rude ones must be related to the owners or management is so desperate for workers that they are forced to sacrifice good service. I hope they clear house or address their behavior because their food and ice cream is great.

Yelp
Perfection, as usual! I love the Farmington location but due to COVID, it's temporarily closed, so a friend and I did outdoor dining at this location tonight. The entire Main St. in Northville is shut down for outdoor dining and Browndog also has heat lamps, which was excellent since it was about 60-62 degrees out. My friend started off with a boozy milkshake, and I had an IBC root beer. For my entree, I had the Korean steak sandwich, which was good although packed a bit of spice. I also upgraded my fries to the Browndog fries, which have truffle salt and chocolate shavings (SO GOOD). My friend is vegetarian and also gluten-free, so she ordered their (corn) loaded nachos as well as the habanero fries. Waitservice was great as well. The tables definitely aren't 6' away from each other but they are a good 3' away. For dessert, I always end with an ice cream FLIGHT there (yes, I said FLIGHT!) and I tried most of their seasonal flavors: Apple Pie, Campfire S'mores, Trick or Treat, and Tucker Tracks. A flight of 4 will run you about $9, and if you order boozy flavors I believe it's slightly more expensive. -Apple Pie: had real apple pie crust in there, pretty good. -Campfire S'mores: not what I was expecting, did have real mini marshmallows but was very cinnamon-y which I didn't like. -Trick or Treat: delicious + I got a pint to go ($8, but since I live in Clawson I don't make it out to Northville much). Had Reeses Pieces + chunks of Reeses, with green cake batter ice cream. -Tucker Tracks: had Puppy Chow in it but I wasn't a huge fan. I highly recommend purchasing the LocalFlavor.com deal for this place, also - it says Farmington location, but since Farmington is closed, they are honoring it ($15, and you get $30 to use ... wait till they run 25% off sales too, then it's only $11.25!). My bill with the LF deal was literally like $1 before tip ($7 after tip) so I'm guesstimating that I only paid about $19-20 on a $37 bill. Decent deal. Browndog also has ice cream (and ice cream pints) to go if you want to do that too, and I bet you could even get a boozy milkshake to go now with the new downtown Northville rules. Overall, definitely a good patio experience and I hope to return before the weather gets too cold.

Yelp
We have been before just for ice cream and really wanted to try the food. I was very happy with the burger, it was very tasty. The bottom of the bun didn't stand up very well but I enjoy a messy burger. My wife had the pulled chicken Mac and Cheese and it was great!! The Cocktails were very good also. They definitely not skimpy on the alcohol. And to top it off the ice cream was awesome as usual.

Yelp
One of the worst meals I've ever had, with a hair on the plate to seal the deal. We came by on a Saturday night and waited the ~20 minutes for a table to open up. I ordered the fish tacos and my partner ordered one of their sandwiches. The tacos came out with a nice hair on the lemon wedge (see photo). I pulled the hair out and still decided to give the food a shot, which was my second mistake. The dish was SO bland and dry it was barely edible. They put a single deep fried piece of fish with shredded lettuce inside of a wheat tortilla and called it a taco. No sauce. No spices. No flavor. My partners sandwich was, I kid you not, made between two pieces of buttered and toasted wonder bread. They're charging $18 for this?! I ordered some wine to go with my dinner and the waitress handed me a sopping wet glass. I had to take a napkin to wipe it off before drinking. The whole experience just didn't make any sense. Overall, I just don't think this restaurant is worth the time.

Yelp
Located in the middle of downtown northville, next to a few of the other favorite places in the area. They have outdoor and indoor seating, and a line just to order ice cream. They also offer pastries like cookies and brownies, but they sell out quickly. They could really work on their line management, it's super busy here and it's more chaotic than not. They have both great food and really creative ice cream flavors. Some of my favorites are the strawberry champagne sorbet, elderberry Prosecco sorbet, margarita sorbet, etc. They are very creative with their options, so it's fun to try them out. I recommend making sure you either come early or expect that this will take a while. It's worth a visit, especially on a nice day to have some dessert and walk around town if you're not patient to wait here for dinner.

Yelp
Went to Browndog a few weeks ago and ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. I often and worried with these gimmicky dishes but I thought i would give it a try. I was worried it was going to be too hot (spicy wise) it was actually very good and highly recommended. Better to try and go a bit earlier or later from dinner time. It's a smaller place and can get pretty crowded, especially in the summer with the ice cream junkies.

Yelp
This was my first time eating dinner/appetizers at Browndog (I've been for brunch) and it didn't disappoint! My husband and I both started with a beer (only craft options available) and shared the cauliflower, nachos and mac and cheese. The nachos were some of the best that I've had and although the Mac and cheese was good, it wasn't as good as I was expecting based on the award given. Brought both of our kids, good service, friendly environment, good food.

Yelp
I saw a TikTok video of someone trying this restaurant and showing they had adult Capri Suns. That's all it took and I was on a mission to investigate. I had a 30 minute drive so I called ahead to put my name on the list. When I called there was a 90 minute wait. I'm so glad I took the time to call. I arrived when brunch was being served. I wasn't in a breakfast mood. So, I ended up with a burger, truffle fries, and a mint boozy milkshake. The shake was amazing. You could not taste the alcohol which could be a dangerous thing. Seriously, it was a fabulous cocktail/dessert. It was minty, chocolatey and just delish. My burger was just okay. It could have been what I decided to get on it. I had beer cheese and mushrooms put on it. The patty was super tender. The truffle fries were so yummy. They're a tad over spiced but yummy. They're crispy and seasoned well. Service was fantastic but with limited seating indoors and out I highly recommend calling before you arrive. Ohh, I forgot to mention that I got a lime Capri sun to go. I'm saving it for later this week.

Yelp
I came to check out Browndog today for dinner for the very first time and I was super excited about it--I've heard such great things! While it started off fine, partway into my visit to Browndog, (what I assume to be) the manager on duty started to make a few staff members get on their hands and knees to scrub the walls--in the middle of dinner service. It seemed very unnecessary of her to have staff disrupt service to start cleaning the restaurant, and she did not seem too kind about it either. The food was good, I really enjoyed their fries, but witnessing that interaction just put a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not quite sure I want to support a restaurant that treats their staff in such a way and disrupts the meals of customers for something that could be done after hours.

Yelp
My wife and I walked into Downtown Northville to head to Starbucks on a frigid morning. We stopped at Browndog as we wanted some food. Great decision! Their brunch menu is amazing, I wanted a coffee but their hot-tails are the way to go! I also would say this place is reasonably priced for the portions! Great staff, very polite.

Yelp
Been to Browndog a dozen times and never disappointed. Great variety of food for any time of day. Light to full meals. Menu leans American traditional but still somehow feels diverse. Drink menu is also great. Have had friends from all over the world here and everyone's enjoyed it. Ice creams and boozy shakes are the cherry on top. Great flavors and top notch service every single time. This is the shining star of Northville downtown.

Yelp
I saw that there was a long line for the Browndog today and wanted to try out their ice cream. I got the Cookie Monster ice cream which is supposed to have three kinds of cookies but ended up having zero cookies. I asked the server if I could have a scoop of the Black n White instead. She asked the manager who approved of the new scoop - I appreciate that! It was a solid cookies n cream. My partner enjoyed the sweet Bee Keeper ice cream. We also had a brownie which was originally frozen but the server kindly warmed it up. The brownie itself was light and fluffy vs the dense fudgey kind I usually like but, it was still a dessert game changer! I wish that I could try flavors first like in the good ol days but I understand that's not possible right now due to covid. At least ice cream gives us a fleeting moment of happiness.

Yelp
I wish I would tried the food. I was only able to get the ice cream and it was good. Downtown Northville is fun in general. Regardless if it's a cold day or hot day this is the place to be.

Yelp
I don't even know where to begin with this place! I literally love everything about it! Been coming almost every week since the middle of summer this year, and have yet to be disappointed! The staff is always friendly and super helpful, also are people who love their jobs (you can tell) ! They do offer call ahead reservations, which we don't usually use we just sit at the bar. This place has a bit of everything for everyone! From boozy shakes that you can get and walk around downtown northville, to the amazingly creative brunch options on Saturday & Sunday's. Or maybe it's the variety of unique sandwiches and burgers offered, or ever changing featured food items?! All the food is great, seriously everything is made with love. Their French fries are some of the best (IMO) I've ever had. I can't say I have a favorite food item here yet, but I can say I'll definitely order everything I've already tried a second time! From burgers with Brie hand breaded curds, to breakfast poutine, to Carmel apple French toast, this place legit has you covered! Also make sure you order one of the mixed drinks they have on the menu, unique combinations that don't disappoint. Oh and you won't be paying for all mix these bar tenders understand a good pour. Sorbet mimosas highly suggested for brunch! Oh I cannot forget to talk about the ice cream here crazy flavors but in the best way! Be sure to try the key lime pie, and strawberry cheesecake!
