Burger was amazing! Although nothing special about the fries. My husband loved the Fiddlehead draft beer. Forgot our server's name but she was sweet! Absolutely great service.

We were there for a brunch on Saturday. Although the service was very good but the quality of the food was not as good as expected. It has a charming atmosphere and nice staff.

The breakfast plate was very filling and great affordable pricing. The espresso martini was extremely strong and undrinkable. Oysters were amazing. I will be back

Google
The Brownestone, there's a lot going on with this restaurant where do I began. I chose to visit this establishment for brunch specifically because their website states that brunch ends at 4pm and the menu got my attention and i like checking out restaurants I’ve never been to. I arrive to the Brownstone about 2:30pm, my intention was to try multiple dishes which I do at every restaurant I go to. I was seated at a high table it was a great spot to view the entire restaurant. I ordered  a cup of hot black coffee it was brought to the table Lukewarm and the egg salad sliders ordered were lackluster salty and the mini buns the egg salad was served on got no love from the chef they were very dry almost like they had been sitting out for a while. Even though I was having issues with my order I was checking out the dishes going to other tables and they looked great and from the visuals I ordered a couple of entrees and couldn’t wait to get them to the table.  A few minutes go by and the waiter comes to the table to inform me that the order couldn’t be completed because their brunch time was over and handed me a dinner menu. No stress no problem I ordered soup and their best offering for steak cooked medium. The waiter refills my cup with more lukewarm coffee and while they were doing that I ask the waiter what time was their watch was saying and they responded with 3:07pm, I then mentioned that I came to Brownstone because their website states brunch is served until 4pm. As I’m waiting for my new order I’m checking out the restaurant and I noticed employees coming into work greeting coworkers and then walk pass my table to hang up their coats and immediately start working behind the bar and waiting tables. The transition was so quick I was wondering did they even bother washing their hands, I got my answer just from watching how they worked. When you have your employees comfortable enough to walk the floor eating hand to mouth and constantly massaging their head running their hands through their hair as they serve beverages and food I  know they never washed their hands. My waiter returned to the table now to inform me I can’t get what I ordered because the kitchen and chefs weren’t ready and then handed me another menu for lighter meal choices at that point I ask for my Bill. I left Brownstone very confused questioning if they had a personal ought with me because customer’s were still coming in to eat as I was leaving.  Because of the false advertisement of their time for brunch (since my visit they’ve updated their website) a bad offering of egg salad  sliders and the allowance of their employees to eat on the floor while serving the public and very bad hygiene practices I give Brownstone 1⭐️

Brunch was great! I would recommend making a reservation as it was quite busy. The food was delicious. I got the grilled blueberry muffin, the egg sliders, and the breakfast potatoes. Mimosa was good too!

Google
Brunch was the meal I ate at the Boston. MA location. The location is convenient because a parking lot is next door, and it is close to other shopping or experiences in the area. Our server was great , she was pleasant, patient, and friendly. The food was served hot, and it came as they were described on the menu. The Check-out process was easy because the server has a handheld device to accept your card payment. While the food was fresh, all but the egg sandwich lacked seasoning; so it makes me wonder if this place only has a cook and not a chef cooking/supervising its preparation. Most restaurants regardless of who is serving the customer make it so every server can respond to or follow-up when your assigned server is overwhelmed but at this place although I was waiving my hand to get the hostess attention she ignored me until I got up from my chair to ask for more napkins and my check. Eventually, I got both, but the hostess appeared frustrated that I asked for this help. If I had to eat here again, I would if I had to stay local, but I would go with the egg sandwich because that did have a flavor that my mouth enjoyed.

Google
First time going here. We were just finishing a college tour and wanted breakfast but it was getting late so when we saw brunch We jumped at the opportunity. The original restaurant we were going to go to had an hour wait.. there was a reason! Where to begin… The waitress took our order and explained she would be back with waters in a bit as they had no clean glasses. My husband and I ordered coffee. I also ordered the breakfast burrito without steak - just vegetables. I was charged the same price as if I ordered it with steak! There was an empty ketchup bottle on the table. No napkins or silverware. There was no cream/milk for the coffee. There were no spoons to stir the coffee but I guess without cream what’s there to stir? When our meals arrived a gentleman brought them out and was annoyed when I asked for cream and silverware. In his defense I saw him getting plates for another table and was probably feeling overwhelmed with the lack of service. Anyway, my daughter grabbed ketchup off of a table nearby and we made do. The food left something to be desired. The cider donut holes were the saving grace- yummy! My husbands toast was toasted on one side but was dry without butter- maybe he should’ve requested butter when he placed his order but stupid us assumed the toast would be buttered or it would be on the table. All of the Canadian bacon was grilled on one side only similar to the toast. The home fries were not tasty but that’s a personal preference. Our coffee cups were stained all over and dirty looking. I’ve never written a review about a restaurant before but felt compelled after our $75 brunch which left something to be desired!

Google
We had a fabulous time at our rehearsal dinner and after party at Brownstone and have been raving about it ever since. Everyone loved it! The food was absolutely delicious and served and timed to perfection, and we discovered they have the very best clam chowder anywhere! Outstanding service from the chefs, bartenders and service staff made our event a big hit and the perfect way to kick off our wedding weekend and meet the new family. Special thanks to our coordinator, Leah, for being so responsive and thorough with the planning along the way. We highly recommend Brownstone to anyone seeking delicious food in a great atmosphere in Boston Back Bay for a special event.

Yelp
The dishes we had for dinner were outstanding! Service was attentive as well although we did eat a bit early and looks like the first customers for dinner. We're from the West coast visiting for a HLS graduation, and wanted a casual joint to eat. We've been eating well at our hotel but needed a change of scenery and tonite we had the grilled salmon w/couscous-excellent, fish not overcooked, flavorful, crispy skin. Other dish was the seared ahi tuna salad, deelish! Sounds like this place is also good for brunch on the wknds but don't think we want to deal w/the crowds. But if you're thinking dinner, pretty good spot at least the selections we had...oh and the truffle fries, burp!

Yelp
We visited here on a very busy weekend and reserved a table for brunch in advance. We were immediately seated at a high top near their big open windows, which was super relaxing on a nice spring day. Their brunch menu had all the fixings - I started with some orange juice which tasted freshly squeezed and was super refreshing. Our table then split their grilled blueberry muffins, which is a New England staple, and also was very tasty served with some sweet cream. I then ordered the classic eggs benedict, which was a massive portion! I wasn't a big fan of their home fries, which tasted slightly undercooked and just wasn't a great texture for me. I thought the eggs were well cooked (with perfectly runny yolks) but I was a bit off-put by the sheer amount of ham/Canadian bacon on the plate. It was at least two layers on each Benny which made it pretty difficult to eat and my bites were full of 80% just ham. I wouldn't recommend this dish unless you just really love ham. The service here was also just okay.. they were busier than usual, so I don't fault them that much but there were several times our table had no water left or needed to get their attention and there was no one around. Maybe I'll give Brownstone another try one of these days, but I wouldn't rush back.

Yelp
I think about this restaurant every time I eat brunch somewhere. THAT is how good the French toast sticks are. They are incredibly crispy and dip-able and perfectly paired with bacon. The service is great, restaurant is beautiful, but the food (or specifically that food) is what keeps me coming back.

Yelp
This place has some of the best bartenders in the area. The drinks are always good and the service is top notch. The kitchen closes on the earlier side so make sure you double check before you go if you want food. Sunday brunch is definitely my favorite the donut hole are amazing and so are the grilled blueberry muffins the rest of the menu is small and Subject to change but usually pretty good.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place so bad because it's beautiful inside. I love the cozy decor, the art on the walls, etc. I was also happy to see their menu included a lot of gluten free or available gluten free options. We had a super friendly waitress, so off to a good start. We got truffle fries for a starter (8/10 because they were not as crispy as I would have liked but were loaded with parm and the herb aoli was amazing). I ordered lobster sliders and was told they were out, so I switched to the crispy Brussels. I have tried crispy Brussels a million places and almost always love them. These were really sad. Definitely not crispy. They had a bacon jam with very not crispy bacon and were supposed to have a whipped feta but there was so much sauce that the feta sort of became a part of the sauce and lost its flavor. I ate maybe 3-4 and left the rest. My husband got a steak sando and said it was amazing. So....would likely try again, but was not thrilled with this experience.

Yelp
Came in for dinner on a Friday for a fried chicken deal they are doing on Fridays. I liked the inside, it had a nice vibe to it. Our waitress was super attentive and friendly. I liked the French 75 but I liked the Peach tea cocktail and strawberry margarita more. The chicken sandwich looks unassuming but it was honestly really good. It had a soft bun, the chicken has a sweet chili sauce on it so it was different and a nice change from all the overly spicy chicken sandwiches out there. I was not a fan of the fries at all honestly. The fried chicken plate was good especially for only $15. The tenders were good and the cole slaw was great, and I loved the biscuit but did not love the Mac and cheese. Will def be back for their fried chicken Fridays

Yelp
Stepping in after Titantic exhibit up the st ,around 2 pm on a brisk Saturday in November. Lots of Florida Gator fans watching Texas kick their Butts. Grabbed a few apps that were a huge hit and delicious ...Donut holes and grilled blueberry muffins. The Burgers were perfectly cooked and super tasty in a sesame seed roll with a huge amt of fries. Fries cooked in clean oil. I was impressed. Poached eggs on avocado toast was a hit along with the eggs over Hash.

Yelp
I came in with my friend. The service was very fast and the staff was friendly. We got the AGLIO OLIO and FRENCH TOAST STIX. I recommend the drink selection. We got a spiked cold brew coffee and an espresso martini which were both very good. The ambiance reminds me of a pub and ideally for a large party as well as diners of two.

Yelp
Solid 4.5 stars Came here for brunch on a Sunday and was seated right away, which is not always the case for Sunday brunch in Boston. I ordered a mimosa and the apple cider donut holes to start. The mimosa was not too orange juice forward which I appreciated and the donut holes were fresh and addictive and came with sweet and cinnamony dipping sauce! For brunch, I got the classic eggs Benedict. Not the absolute best I've had but honestly pretty darn good. Overall, you cannot beat the price at Brownstone. $13 mimosas and $16 for a pretty sizable and filling eggs Benedict is a steal in Boston. I will definitely be back. Service: 5/5 Food: 4.5/5 Ambience: 4/5

Yelp
I have been to Brownstone twice and really enjoyed the food. Both times, they were pretty busy but the staff was friendly and able to get our food to us within a timely manner. I really like the decor and set up of the restaurant. However, the music is a bit loud for a brunch place and can be a little challenging to hear different conversations happening when in a large group.

Yelp
I had an excellent brunch experience at Brownstone this fine Sunday. This restaurant is located within walking distance of the historic shopping district, Newbury Street. My friend and I went to Brownstone before an afternoon of shopping. Food: I ordered the steak and eggs bowl, minus the home fries. I ordered the steak medium -- it was cooked exactly to my liking. I also had the eggs poached, and it was a nice way to have the steak and eggs along with my whole wheat toast. The food was a bit underseasoned (salt and pepper) but I actually prefer that -- definitely better than overly seasoned, plus the tables have salt and pepper shakers on them! Service: I think my server was Shannon today -- wow. A superb staffperson! So kind, and genuinely friendly and helpful. She took her time explaining to me the different options for eggs (scrambled, over easy/medium/hard, poached)! The food also came out so quickly without compromise on the flavor/presentation! Ambiance: I really enjoyed the ambiance of this establishment. It's casual enough to wear athleisure to, but it's still a sit-down restaurant. The music was great today (mainly 2K music playing in the background), and there were a mix of patrons (young, old, different backgrounds!). I 100% would suggest Brownstone to others for brunch, and I'd return again myself.

Yelp
Food was insanely bland. Server didn't write down our order and asked me what I ordered as she brought the rest of my party's entrees because she forgot to put in my eggs Benedict. Food took forever. Wouldn't come back. Sever forgot our coffees.

Yelp
Grabbed a drink and dinner here last nite. It was very slow which surprised me cuz I think it's decent all around. Sat at the bar and had good service, a good bourbon cocktail and amazing steak sandwich w chimmichuri sauce (forgot to take a pic) and decent fries. Friend got a huge salad and a beer. It was a nice time.

Yelp
The service was amazing, and the restaurant was adorable. The serving size is quite large. The food was quite delicious. For drinks, we got the Mimosa and the baby shark. The baby shark is STRONG, but it's so cute. For food, we got the Monte cristo, which is a French toast sandwich. For those who love savory sweet, it totally hits the spot and avocado toast. I think the avocado toast here is so swell worth. The pepper jam is amazing, and the generous with the spread. If I can critique one thing, it's the home fries. I wish it was less messy looking. It's feels like it's a little messy and soft. I would love for some crunch or crisp part for home fries. Honestly, I really enjoy this brunch place. I would recommend

Yelp
A Backbay must go. After a quick Apple Maps look around, I found Brownstone. Located right by Backbay Station on The Orange line, I found myself with some extra time before meeting up with friends. I had an excellent experience. Right out of work and needing to decompress I sat at the bar and was shortly greeted by the bartender Paul who gave great recommendations. Got an Empress Gin and Tonic...nothing swankier than good presentation in a glass. And after some debate decided on Mediterranean Cobbs salad which hit the spot. Large portions properly priced and delicious. While they have a small menu, I suspect after my experience with these recommendations, that the other options must be a foodies delight. I'll be going back for sure.

Yelp
Went here for Sunday brunch with some friends and our waiter seemed hungover - kept mumbling and got our order wrong 3x (lol). It got to the point where the manager noticed, came over to our table to personally apologize and comped us a bunch of free drinks and entrees. The food came out fairly late (I would guess we waited 30-40 minutes after ordering and the place was somewhat full but nowhere near capacity) but wasn't sure if it's due to the waiter or the back of house being slow in general that day. In terms of the food, I got a frittata while my wife got the "crunchy" french toast, which we came to find out meant it was deep fried. WHY WOULD YOU NOT MENTION THE "CRUNCHY" FRENCH TOAST IS DEEP FRIED ON THE MENU??? Look, I understand some may want to eat deep fried food for brunch but quite a few people don't. You should explicitly state it's deep fried instead of describing it as just "crunchy". Outside of that, the food was okay/good - not terrible by any means but also wouldn't be excited to go back and eat again. Food: 3.5/5 Service: 1.5/5 Service Recovery: 5/5

Yelp
Came to brownstone for brunch on Sunday. The service was spectacular. The food was a bit of a wait but came out fresh and hot. The Aglio Olio was so tasty and I also enjoyed the avocado toast. They could have put move avocado on it but overall it was good! Would definitely come back!

Emily Rivas ..

Yelp
Decent food, but the potato's were a bit lacking in flavor. Not sure if I would come back. Can't complain if you are looking for brunch that doesn't have an hour long wait.

Yelp
I came to Brownstone on a Saturday for brunch. My friend and I did not have a reservation, but it was not too busy, so they seated us at a table on the side. For drinks, we ordered sunshine and mimosa while for food we got warm donut holes, FCCFT, and pulled pork hash. My friend and I were not too fond of our drinks. I wish they were a bit sweeter, but that is my personal preference. The warm donut holes did not have much lemon flavoring to it. They tasted sweeter than I preferred and on the drier side but it was alright. I would not get them again honestly. The FCCFT is a great combination for those who want sweet and savory in one dish. I personally enjoyed the fried chicken over the French toast sticks. The pulled pork hash was honestly better than I expected. The pork could use more flavor, but I simply decided to add more salt and pepper to the dish. The salsa Verde complimented the dish pretty well overall. I left the restaurant feeling pretty full. While it was not my favorite brunch spot, it is not bad when I am in the area.
google avatar

Rebecca K.

Yelp
Average place. Decent location. Nothing special about this spot. The interior is kind of old and dirty. Lots of exposed wood that's not in great condition. I came in for a bloody and brunch on a Sunday. The place was half full and it seemed people were enjoying their brunches but the menu wasn't for me. All heavy, large portions and foods. The bloody, served in a mason jar, was $13...hardly worth it. It was also hot, as if the AC wasn't working.
google avatar

Sofia B.

Yelp
The service was awful. We did not get water for 20 minutes and food didn't come for an hour. Server only came over twice. Almost all of the dishes had incorrect sides and the chicken and French toast came with no chicken. Food was okay but will not be back
google avatar

Roland Beau P.

Yelp
Food was tasty, service was quick. Overall good price and in a nice spot in the city.

Yelp
I have been going here for years and let me tell you, the owner seems to suffer from delusions of how to run a business. The last two Game and the current GM absolutely do not know what they are doing. I went on a Saturday night, they are dead inside except to bar. I ask to watch the game and the bartender puts it on for me, the. The GM turns off all the lights giving very creepy club vibes and turns off the dang TV in the middle of the third quarter!! Definitely got a misogynistic vibe because it was a women's basketball game and he said it wasn't important which was just rude. I don't know how this place has gone so far downhill but when you have another new manager who is passing around the iPad to all his little friends at the bar you didn't hire a professional. His friends played terrible club music and nobody could hear what was going on---completely wrong vibe for this place. It use to be a nice local bar where you could hang your hat after work and enjoy yourself but definitely not anymore. After many years, I will not be back. The drinks are good, the management is continually terrible.

Yelp
A cool vibe and a Good Bloody Mary* close to The Amtrak station *would not return just for the bloody Marty but the proximity to the train station is unbeatable

Yelp
Yummy food, i ordered Smoked salmon , creamy cheese on everything bagel. It was delicious. Waitresses are friendly and very polite. Only concern that they take so long to get the food ready, but would go again and recommend it to others. Thank you Brownstone
google avatar

Colleen E.

Yelp
The place was full for brunch on a Sunday. The staff was friendly and welcoming when we arrived. I ordered the frittata which was bland and difficult to finish. I immediately felt sick when I arrived home which I'm assuming was food poisoning.
google avatar

Yelp
This was the worst dining experience I've had in years. Ordered food, half an hour it all came out, sent to wrong table, and ice cold. Btw they forgot the oysters ($1 special allegedly) and then just said they were all out. To make matters worse they "lost" our order / check. The bolognese was gross. Avoid this place. Maybe it's a fun bar but first and last time I'll ever dine
google avatar

Julianne S.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and loved the avocado toast and potatoes! Also got a tasty cold brew with chocolate syrup. Staff was friendly and service was quick. Decent location in the South End, though it was crowded for brunch and a little loud.
google avatar

Maro S.

Yelp
Came here for brunch. Server was not attentive at all. Requested hot water twice and did not receive it until someone else gave it. The food was not the best either. I ordered the frittata and it was bland. As someone else mentioned, I felt sick afterwards. The utensils were not clean either.

Caitlin M.

Yelp
we used to love going to Brownstone for a casual environment and good food. Had the most disappointing experience sitting at the bar, bartender could not care less, absolutely terrible service. Tried to pay the bill, she took the card, hit the bathroom and went in the back to talk for 10 minutes and had to follow up with another waitress to pay the bill. Hoping they get back to the good old days soon!

Yelp
I really enjoyed my visit to Brownstone while I was in Boston. The restaurant itself is very classy and cozy, decorated all in warm neutral colors with soft lighting in interesting fixtures, pin-tucked leather booths, and a huge glossy bar. My sister and I stopped by for an early lunch on a week day and the restaurant was quiet. I was thrilled to see that brunch is available 7 days a week, from 10:00am to 3:00pm on weekdays and extended from 9:00-3:00 on the weekend. We each got their version of a mimosa, which was a prosecco and orange juice cocktail with a splash of vodka. It was a perfect start to brunch. Everything on the menu looked really good, but I went with the Aglio Olio. It's spaghetti in garlic butter sauce with two sunny side up eggs on top, which sounded so strange yet delicious that I had to try it. It was great! Really flavorful, lots of garlic, and the egg yolk made the pasta super creamy. I've actually tried to replicate it at home since then, but it's not nearly as good as Brownstone's. The entree also came with perfectly crunchy, cheesy, thick sliced toast, which was too much for me to finish but a great accompaniment. My only slight complaint would be that service was very slow for how empty the restaurant was. The waitress was very good and checked on us multiple times, but it took about 45 minutes to an hour for the food to arrive. Perhaps not the spot for a quick lunch, but we certainly didn't feel rushed and were able to linger for as long as we liked. I definitely recommend it and would come back again.

Yelp
Very disappointed. Walked in, this place was half empty but we were told to wait 30 minutes. We asked to sit at the bar. We sat at the bar and the bar tender seemed disturbed. We had to get his attention to ask for drinks and order food. He was very dismissive, never truly made eye contact. Initially I thought he was having a bad day. We eventually got our food which another waiter delivered and never once did he check to see how everything came out or if it was okay. Never once did he attend to us. Two separate guests all white sat next to us and he was so welcoming, attentive, polite and catering to them. We observe them get their meals , drinks and he constantly checked on them. We were so disturbed by how intentionally he ignored us and caredless. Once done eating we decided to ask for the check and this was when he said another word to us after 30-45 mins. Yes we were the only blacks at the bar, and it's evident he was racist. This place is definitely not black friendly. I do not recommend it at all. The bar tenders name was Alex J. We never got a thank you, or anything. I still tipped out of courtesy, but I don't recommend this place to any blacks in Boston.

Yelp
This is the perfect place to cure a hangover! The drinks are stronggg (baby shark was yummy) and delicious and the food is really good. Get the french toast to start and share - crispy french toast sticks. Also the fried chicken is the best I've ever had - crispy on the inside and juicy on the inside - and served with amazing jam and maple syrup dipping sauces. The FCCFT comes with both the fried chicken and the french toast sticks! I can't wait to come back and get more of those french toast sticks and fried chicken - I'm salivating just thinking about them.

Yelp
A neighborhood staple! Brownstone is a solid and delicious choice in the Back Bay. It's nice because I've never had to wait for a table but it's always decently busy. The offering makes it a perfect spot for any meal from brunch or late night drinks. Inside, there's a combination of small tables and booths. The bar if you want to grab something quick as well. The inside has a dark, Boston feel with exposed brick and cushy seating. The atmosphere is a mix of locals and business meetings. I've gone with family and with colleagues before. A couple of my favorite dishes here include - the eggs benedict, truffle fries, poutine, burger, steak frites, and margarita flatbread. When is doubt, always add on the truffle fries!

Yelp
Came here on a friday spontaneous res - wasn't sure given the reviews but I thought drinks and food were fine. They had a nice cocktail selection as well as food. The fried chicken was a bit flavorless but buffalo brussel sprouts were great and the sirloin steak is a great value as well. The service was a bit slow that night, other than that great spot for back bay.

Yelp
As a Back Bay transplant, I have been frequenting Brownstone for almost a decade, and have noticed a nosedive decline over the last couple months. The quality of food, service, cocktails, and management has taken a turn for the absolute worse, and no longer bares any resemblance to the warm and hospitable atmosphere I've become accustomed to. A year ago, I would be greeted immediately by the personable, and always professional Michaela (General Manager) who always took an interest in her guests and their comfortability, and receive outstanding service from the bar staff, who took a keen interest in my day and catered to ever need I had, or even needs I weren't even aware of that I had (Powerade is a major hangover cure- thanks Alex!) The waitstaff would even take notice of the frequency of our visits, and come over toward the bar and get to know us and our names, and it all just felt like being part of a happy family. More recently, I've (not) been greeted by the new, never-smiling general manager (Jeff), who clearly has learned nothing of hospitality, nor tact in his 40+ years of life, and clearly has no interest in getting to know his guests. I've been served by waitstaff that is relatively clueless (except when my girls Carmen and Ronna are there- shoutout to you rockstars!) in an atmosphere that is not friendly, fun, nor welcoming. The food quality has been incredibly inconsistent and lacking: it is no longer the guaranteed good meal it was once upon a time. (As someone who does not like to complain or send food back, it was unnerving getting suddenly spicy homefries and improperly cooked eggs three times in four visits.) The decline is very apparent, given the bar and restaurant are significantly more and more empty every time I've visited in the last two months. The friendly faces that have always made my experiences amazing are nowhere to be found, and the replacements are quite subpar. If they (Alex, Ronna, Carmen- where are you guys?!) no longer work there, i can only imagine they jumped off this sinking ship, just as I and my friends plan to do. I have gladly been taking my business elsewhere in the neighborhood (Friendly Toast and Salty Pig, namely) and have even partaken in conversations with *perfect strangers* about the incredibly palpable decline in your business. For your sake, I do hope you figure out how to address the disconnect that has been growing between you and your guests. However, I'd like to thank you for helping me discover Salty Pig (Jill and Angela are the absolute best!!!) and a new brunch spot: now it makes sense why I have an hour wait at Friendly Toast, while Brownstone had 6 open tables available on a Sunday brunch. Best of luck in your endeavors righting the ship.

Yelp
Stopped in for Sunday brunch to celebrate my friend's half marathon finish. The restaurant was full, but not packed and our server was great! They have an extensive cocktail list with some really fun options--even one with gummy sharks--but I opted for one of their many beers on tap. I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict, one of many Benedict's they offer on the menu. My dish was pretty tasty, but nothing spectacular. We did have to wait an hour for the food and our server informed us that the kitchen staff was short one person so everything was backed up. He was kind enough to comp our meal given that we waited so long and so patiently, which we thoroughly appreciated.

Yelp
Went for brunch on a Saturday while in town! The bloody Mary's and mimosas were very good. We ordered a range of items for brunch. I had the eggs Benedict with crab cakes with home fries...outstanding! Our whole party was highly satisfied with the friendliness of the staff and the atmosphere...it was just a coincidence we stopped in without a reservation. We were seated quickly and our food came out at a decent time...all the food was hot and just perfect! Go check them out in the Back Bay Area!

Yelp
We've visited the restaurant for brunch on a Sunday at noon and had a good number of tables available. This restaurant is located in the heart of Boston in Backbay and is conveniently close to Copley Place and Prudential. PROS: - Good selection of brunch choices at a very decent price (average at $10-$14 a dish) - Historic ambiance with window seatings that open up. - Food was delish - the avocado toast was perfect and the french toast with the blueberry compote was great. - Full drink menu to choose from (mimosas, coffees, beers, etc) CONS: - Parking is tough if you're driving to dine here and they do not offer parking validation. - Service was a bit slow as the waitstaff only refilled water once when we are already done with our meal and was ready for the check. Overall, I would have to rate this place a 3.5/5.

Yelp
Okay brunch place located near Copley Square (about a 5 minute walk). There is limited street parking but garages are close by. The garage next to it offers parking for one hour for $11. And then it jumps to $20 for one to two hours. The place has a nice cozy atmosphere. It seems more neighborhood bar than restaurant. We were greeted and seated in one of the booths. Coffee was piping hot and good. For brunch I decided on the croque monsieur, which is not the typical French version with grilled bread and béchamel. Brownstone's version is made with french toast and came with a side of syrup. Nice try but no cigar. My partner had the eggs benedict. He said it was good but different from his usual place. I likely would not be back. It was good but not stellar. I would only be willing to pay for parking if it his was truly an exceptional place with innovative brunch options. This is a decent neighborhood place for those who live close by. Glad I got out of there within an hour (they do not validate parking)!

Yelp
Came here with my girls for a quick bite while we waited for others to arrive in Boston. It was mid day on a Friday so it was fairly easy to get seats. Our waitress was very attentive and also gave great suggestions for food to order. I ended up getting the chicken sandwich which was crispy just as I prefer it . The menu stated that it came with a specific sauce and it didn't, but thankfully adding some ketchup was enough to fix that because it wasn't that flavorful without a sauce. The fries were very very good and almost the highlight of the meal. My friends were also satisfied with their meals and we all enjoyed the bottle of rose that we ordered.

Yelp
This place is sooo good and the music and people are awesome. Ansley was amazing!! I am from Long Island NY, I have high expectations sometimes but this place met it. After coming to Boston multiple times and never liking the food, this place was so good, it's a must.

Yelp
Well, just came for brunch and I'm never coming back even though the food and cocktails were great. Bartender kept calling me "dear," and as a new Englander I really hate when people use pet names when they don't know me. I left it alone for a bit, but then he called me "babe" and I finally needed to speak up. I told him that wasn't okay, and he didn't apologize or anything he just completely gave me the silent treatment for the rest of my time there. This was behavior that I thought was important to bring to the manager's attention. She made excuses and all I got was a "sorry you feel that way." Never going back. If you like good service maybe go somewhere else.

Yelp
Weekday brunch places are not the easiest to come by, but I am so glad to have stumbled across Brownstone on my search--it's especially perfect for a group of weary tourists who just flew into Boston on an ungodly early flight. We were pleasantly greeted by a little flag exclaiming brunch, and the space was elegant and relaxing with large open windows (it basically felt like patio dining, without the wind blowing all your stuff away) (also great natural lighting for food pictures). The menu has a fantastic selection of brunch entrees, essentially all of which are foodie-minded. Even the simple breakfast sando turned out to be quite fancy. There were so many intruiging options, and I couldn't decide among the indulgent F.C.C.F.T. (fried chicken, crunchy french toast, bacon, warm maple syrup), the adventurous duck and sweet potato hash, and the unique aglio olio (spaghetti, sunny eggs, garlic butter sauce, basil, shaved parm). But when in Boston, I couldn't say no to the crab cake Benny, and it was definitely one of the highlights of my entire trip. The crab cakes were thick and generous with crab meat, coated with a thin crispy exterior. The runny eggs tied everything together, and the potatoes were deliciously seasoned and lightly fried. The server was nice and was able to split our bill to 6 separate checks. Also, brownie points that this was walking distance to the Boston Public Library and other touristy highlights nearby.

Yelp
We had brunch after run. I had crabcake benedict. It came with potato. It was tasty. This part was 4 stars. We also had coffee. They refilled coffee for people but before me the pot got empty and the waiter said he would come back, but he didn't. Then he brought check. That's why minus 1 star.

Yelp
Amazing brunch spot, been here at least 4 times now and it does not disappoint. My favorite so far has been the pulled pork hash, it's to die for!! Also shoutout to our favorite waiter Alex, he is so much fun and we always request him :)

Yelp
We had a big party and they were very accommodating waiting for everyone to arrive! I ordered the french toast croque monsieur and it was amazing! Definitely would recommend for brunch choices.
