I’ve eaten here twice now and had a wonderful experience both times!! Our server Sofie this past visit was especially friendly and helpful and made sure we had the best experience possible. We sat on the front porch, which is quiet and pleasant even in the summer due to the fans! All of the BBQ is delicious, especially with the vinegar, mustard, and pickles. I highly recommend anything with the pretzel buns like the Sammich or slider trio!! The carrot cake is absolutely glorious and fully worth the price—an immense amount of just-sweet-enough, perfectly baked carroty goodness. Just make sure you have either a big party or a plan for the leftovers if you order it!

Google
I usually go here for lunch and get the lil Q its so delicious. Last night i stopped in for dinner to go I ordered pulled pork and pulled chicken with a twice baked potato. The potato is dam good omg . The chivken n pork are juicy n tender and flavorful without barbq sauce. But the sauce is a nice extra . Miss pam and Claire served me , they were so nice Claire really was attentive to my order she went the extra mile ,the ladies here are so wonderful they make you feel welcome. The restaurant is very cleanly and its a very relaxing atmosphere. Ill definitely recommend this place to my friends .great food, great staff 👍

Google
This place is absolutely amazing. We don’t live in the area, we actually live on the coast of Mississippi, but we always make it a point to stop here whenever we come through. We have literally timed out our travel several times in order to hit this place at dinner time! Cody was our waiter tonight and he did an outstanding job! Super attentive, and went above and beyond to make our experience awesome! If you’ve never been here, here’s your sign 👍

Google
The food was delicious as always. The staff is really friendly and efficient. The dining room accommodates large and small parties. Very nice bar with decent day to day happy hour crowd. I had the Chicken Mamou, which was quite delicious, came with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. I would definitely recommend BRQ over and over as one of the best on Jefferson.

Google
The salmon was tiny , the carrot cake was huge , the atmosphere is like you eat in a gym .. too tall too windy , one hour before the closing two tables inside but all the employees run around crazy busy with the closing tasks. They put the chairs upside down on the table all away around you. The food was great , the drinks awesome.

Google
I visit this location quite often, and without fail, the highlight of each visit is Chareessa. She absolutely slays my drinks and is the best in town hands down. Even during busy hours she stays attentive and continues to give excellent service, all while keeping the mood light. 100/10 recommended!!! ~J. Whitfield

Google
Olivia was outstanding!! Please ask for her. I rarely write reviews. She brought me a HOT wet towel. My wife and I ask for one each time we go out to eat to clean our hands. Some places look at me like I am crazy when I ask. This really nice young read our minds. Service was also fast and very accurate. We will come back and ask for her by name.

Stopped in after Bowling at the US Open Championship, good BBQ and friendly staff! Enjoyed our meal and holy cow.. the cakes! Ask for the carrot cake...

Yelp
We stopped in at BRQ Seafood and Barbecue, and it did not disappoint. Right off the bat, they brought homemade chips and pickles to the table, simple but a great touch, and both were excellent. My wife went with the BRQ Breakfast Burrito loaded with pulled pork, and she loved it. I ordered the Q2 combo and went with pulled chicken and ribs, plus pit beans on the side. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone good with great flavor, and the chicken was spot on, moist without being greasy or dry. I also got to try each of the four barbecue sauces, and they all had their own unique kick. Service was friendly and quick, and the food really speaks for itself. If you're looking for solid barbecue with a little extra flair, BRQ is worth the stop.

Yelp
I've been to BRQ twice, each visit separated by 5 years...and this place has gone downhill unfortunately. The restaurant is warm and inviting, and really does set the stage for a nice dinner. The ambiance is welcoming, with a rustic charm that makes you feel right at home. We had the boudin balls to start and they were great. Flavorful and well-seasoned, stuffed with pepper jack cheese on the inside, they were a great start to the meal. Unfortunately, we took a major downturn with some of the main dishes. The fried chicken sliders were a major disappointment, arriving subpar and bland. Similarly, the pork "sammich" was a letdown, served cold, bland and accompanied by soggy fries. Service was another area where BRQ fell short. The staff, while friendly, was slow and forgetful, neglecting to bring all the items included with certain dishes. The wait for drinks was particularly egregious--a blueberry lemon drop martini took a staggering 45 minutes to arrive. While BRQ has potential with its inviting vibe and standout appetizers like the boudin balls, the entrees are boring and the service flaws make it hard to fully recommend. Won't be back.

Yelp
Always enjoy going here. Drinks are good, food is good. Love the complimentary pickles and chips. If you have a group-get the carrot cake. It's huge and enough for like 10. The chocolate cake is good too, and enough for 4

Yelp
The staff was friendly, service was excellent. I don't care for the sweet pickles they serve complimentary but I did like they were house made. If you are a fan of carrot cake, this is the place to get it.
google avatar

Vicey R.

Yelp
This is by far one of the best places to eat in Lafayette. It's not your typical BBQ joint. It's upscale and classy but also laid back and comfortable. I try something new every time we visit and the flavors do not disappoint. The wait staff is always so friendly and helpful if we have questions. They always bring me a little extra of their house made pickles, I can never get enough. Today was exactly what we needed and everything was super delicious.
google avatar

Erica S.

Yelp
No expectations, bc this was my First time. They bring you delicious homemade potato chips and sweet pickles for an addictive snack for starters. You have to pay $$$ for tiny bottle cokes. As far as BBQ goes- I'll say this, it's "pre-sauced" and a tad greasy. It's ok. A little salty. Carrot Cake - 1000%!! I'd go back for that!.

Yelp
I don't know what kinda fry batter they use but it is PERFECTION. I am obsessed with their onions rings and pickles. Also, they must have a model scout on the hiring staff because everyone was gorgeous??? Highly recommend.

Yelp
I going often to have drinks and do some work at the bar. The bar team is the best! My favorite Olivia as I followed her from a previous restaurant and happy she's now in my neighborhood. She will lift your spirits like no other. Food wise, their crab cake and cheeseburger are 2 of my go tos, delicious!

Yelp
I didn't actually visit the location. We had BRQ as the catered meal at work. I was able to try their brisket, coleslaw, and white meat chicken. The brisket was good but the chicken was amazing. I didn't even look for barbecue sauce. The coleslaw was actually some of the best I've ever had. The staff was so courteous. Overall it was really good food. I'll definitely be a patron vote that I've had it. The chicken alone will keep me coming back.

Yelp
The ambience is nice. The restaurant is deceiving from the outside, but once you walk in the place is quite huge. It seemed as if every staff member spoke as I entered, and our waitress Alexis. she was really funny and personable. I ordered the fish and shrimp with a side of potato salad. The catfish were more like nugget pieces, good but I wasn't expecting nuggets. It's just a fillet cut up into pieces. Potato salad it's pretty good taste homemade versus restaurant quality. If that makes sense. They also serve pickles and potato chips that are cooked just long enough so that they are not burnt. My son ordered the chopped beef sandwich with onion rings. The chopped beef sandwich was really good. They bring out a flight of barbecue sauce that you can try with the sandwich from mild to vinegar base to mustard base and a spicy barbecue sauce. We also ordered the carrot cake to go, and when we tasted it later, it was phenomenal. Probably some of the best karaoke cake I've had and surprisingly good for the size. I highly recommend this place. If you're near looks to be good for lunch parties and dinner. We went for dinner and it was quick and fast service. They also have drink specials for under $10

Yelp
Perfect place to have a work lunch and come back to the office with no energy. Lol! Food is amazing, my coworkers come specifically for the salads. I've never had to wait for a lunch table and the service is always on point.

Yelp
Was visiting from NYC and came here for lunch. Staff was personable and food was good. Waiter was great and attentive.

Yelp
Ate lunch at the bar.Chareesa was the server. The service was great. She is prompt, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was delicious and served quickly. I highly recommend BRQ

Yelp
The blueberry cobbler was a great drink. I love to smoke meats at home and was surprised at the quality of the food. I was skeptical, but really enjoyed the brisket and ribs.

Yelp
BRQ in Baton Rouge. I think I have a crush on you. On my last night in BR, I tried this spot with a coworker, following a recommendation from our local project manager, who said the a/c was great and the food was even better. She was correct on both counts. Saylor took great care and deftly managed keeping drinks filled and the whole BRQ team brought food to our table at temperature and others in our section seemed happy, as well. We tried barbecue and seafood menu items. Very good, all around. Starting with complimentary house-made BnB pickles and BBQ chips is brilliant. Delicious amuse-bouche for all ages. We wanted the baked goat cheese (out of marinara), so substituted spinach-artichoke. Great fun that the kitchen was willing to swap in vegetables for tortilla chips. (Nice to have an option that doesn't derail the healthier eaters at the table.) BBQ is fantastic. I didn't take a photo of the house-made andouille or their 4 (four!) different bbq sauces. Trust me and treat yourself to andouille a la carte or alongside whatever else you will try. The brisket nachos with house made cheese sauce were dynamite. The seafood was fresh and perfectly prepared. I'm a Mac n cheese snob, but Saylor said BRQs was good. (Claim: verified!) Maquechoux was delicious. Wasn't hungry for dessert, but had to order just to get the look on my coworker's face (who hadn't seen it delivered to the next table). The vast majority of the cake went home in 2 (two!) rotisserie chicken boxes. Massive, deliciously textured with nuts, raisins, and carrots, and not cloyingly sweet. I wish there was a plus or bonus star to give. I travel for work. A lot. I try to find locally-run places where the atmosphere is comfortable and the food is deliciously made with care. BBQ joints hold a special place in my heart. It takes most of a day to prepare it. The effort is hot, long, and under appreciated. Places that go the extra step (veggies instead of chips), make a little tasty things to welcome you (here are chips and pickles: we are glad you're here!), and prepare wonderful entrees and sides... well this is a comfortable and delicious experience. And if you are in Baton Rouge, go. If you aren't in BR, then get there and try this place.

Yelp
Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Pricey but worth it. We tried the spinach dip (fabulous), 1/2 lb of sausage (my favorite bite, so delicious) and the combo plate with pulled pork, brisket and ribs with beans (there was no bad bite). I would absolutely come back!

Yelp
I recently went with my bf to BRQ for brunch on Sunday. It was very busy but I had made a reservation and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was very attentive and I appreciated her patience given the fact that we took forever to order. Lol. They provide you with complimentary chips and pickles which were both good. We ended up getting the mimosa's that they offer (a bottle of champagne and a glass of Orange juice) and for the price it was a good deal. I got the chicken fried steak and it was very good. Seasoned perfectly, along with the gravy. The eggs were ok and the biscuits were good. My bf got the chicken and waffles and he really enjoyed them. I definitely want to go back and try other menu items.

Yelp
A very filling lunch experience! We aren't a fan of BBQ, but we loved BRQ! It is off the beaten path, but very worth it. It's in a stand alone building that, to me, doesn't look very good from the outside, but once you walk in, it screams southern BBQ charm. Tons of tables inside and outside and a fabulous bar area and very clean. We walked right in and got a table on a Saturday afternoon with no wait, and the restaurant was pretty packed. Right when we sat at our table, our waiter greeted us right away and asked if we wanted chips or pickles... we got the pickles. They were ok, kind of too sweet for me. Plenty of great options on the menu, including the brunch, but we wanted a big sandwich for lunch, and that's just what we got. The food came out very fast! I got the Smokey turkey and fig sandwich with fries, and my mom got the club with fries. Both sandwiches were huge and were devoured seconds after it arrived to the table haha. Same with the fries, very crispy, just how we like them. One of my new favorite sandwich places! Can't wait to come back.

Lindsay C.

Yelp
Sophie was wonderful! Super sweet and has some pretty cool pens to use for signing your check! If you for to BRQ, ask for Sophie!

Yelp
We dined here on the Fourth of July, and it exceeded all of our expectations as first time diners here. The menu has a great variety, the restaurant itself provided a quaint and inviting atmosphere, and the service was top notch. We had the boudin balls as an appetizer which we highly recommend. All of the entrees were delicious! For the quality and taste of food, everything was reasonably priced. Cody was our server, and he was very friendly, prompt, and attentive! We will definitely be back and have already recommended to friends and family!

Isabel A.

Yelp
Food, service and dining area were fantastic. The smoked wings were amazing but very messy. They do give you hot towels for cleanup which you really need.

Jessica D.

Yelp
Went here today for a work lunch and we had an amazing server named Sofie! She has really kind and accommodating and had super cute jewelry!!!

Yelp
We celebrated our daughters birthday and Gabby with her sweet smile did a wonderful job helping us make it special

Yelp
We had the absolute SWEETEST server, Olivia! She was so kind and has an amazing spirit! Food was a 10/10!!

Yelp
Pickles and chips were incredible. Brisket queso and chips were also excellent. The pulled pork quesadilla was very good with a side of French fries. Meal was large enough for another meal of leftovers. Service was very good and extra sauces were served on the side.

Yelp
I'm always a bit skeptical of BBQ restaurants that look a little too well-done-hipster, but when the dinner plate hit the table BRQ didn't disappoint. This is a solid spot that delivers an excellent main course *and* really tasty sides. And to the staff's credit, they did a wonderful job of keeping my water glass full and making sure my needs were taken care of without being bothersome. I'll definitely be back!

Fran W.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant. The dining area is neither hot nor cold - it's just right; no shivering while you wait and while you dine. Service is always good & prompt, each time I've been here. Crabcakes here are the BEST anywhere. If you have never tried the brussels sprouts starter - do yourself a favor and try it. It will change your mind about brussels sprouts. And of course - the in-house made chips & BnB pickles. What's not to like?
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to go for lunch or dinner. In the past, I didn't enjoy the food here but this time we visited was a lot better experience. The chicken sandwich was great. We got it grilled but you can also get it fried or blackened. The habanero pineapple glazed salmon with green beans & macaroni and cheese was very good. The green beans were seasoned perfectly. The glaze on the salmon was flavorful but it wasn't enough of the glaze to cover the whole fish. I'm glad I gave it another try. Overall, definitely give this local restaurant a try.

Megan T.

Yelp
The shoutout goes to Ms. Pam and Claire for the great hospitality and the love they showed us. I haven't been in the restaurant since 2018 and the ambiance is so much better. The servers seem happy and wanting to work. The food was good! The big portions and flavor in every bit was present in our dining experience. Ms. Pam gave us a tour and made sure to chop it up with our table. You don't see many managers enjoying the hospitality field anymore. This gave me faith back in the BRQ brand. Thank y'all for making us fans again.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was spot on. Food was AH-mazing! Crab cake was sheer perfection. The potato chips were so good, I ordered a bag to take with. Really nice atmosphere.
google avatar

Carlin T.

Yelp
Restaurant has great atmosphere, BUT majority of times I go there seems to be something just off about my dish. That's has made me reluctant to go in future! Last time I was there, multiple hard inedible pieces were mixed in and it gave me permanent heebie-jeebies about returning. It was almost as if wax pieces were the questionable items and MANY were in my crab cakes off the brunch menu. I paid to have a meal to eat....... Used to enjoy this restaurant but it's taken a hard turn for me over years it's been open. If it comes up, I suggest attending a different restaurant.

Yelp
BRQ has been on our list to try for a few months now and today was finally the day. My daughter and I decided to invite my mom out for an all girls lunch. We decided to go to BRQ because we have heard great things about this restaurant and wanted to give it a try. The restaurant is located on Jefferson highway near Airline highway, which for me is a nice and convenient area. The building itself has been renovated very nicely inside and out, and to me it seems like a rustic/ farmhouse look. When we first walked in, we were greeted with a smile and were seated immediately. Our waitress, Ivy, greeted us with a smile and immediately took our drink order. While waiting for our drinks, we were given complimentary pickles and homemade potato chips. Both items were very tasty and we wanted more :) I ordered the Club Sandwich and onion rings, my mom ordered the Slider Trio with potato salad and my daughter ordered the Sesame Chicken Salad with a loaded baked potato. All 3 of us enjoyed our food and even had leftovers to enjoy later :) It was a Sunday afternoon at 12:30 when we went dine in and we left around 2pm. The restaurant was very busy but as we were leaving it was getting even busier. I'm glad we made reservations because the word is getting out on how good the food and atmosphere here is. The only "downfalls" of this restaurant are that the tables are very close to one another, so it tends to get very loud at times. It seems like all the customers are talking over each other just to be able to hear one another across the table. Another negative to me would be that the ceilings are very high and spacious so a lot of noises echo from the kitchen and other guests. Overall we had a great dine in experience. The food was lovely and the staff were friendly. We will be back in the future
google avatar

Chrissy K.

Yelp
Really great food and service . Also super cozy atmosphere!! They also bring out delicious barbecue chips and pickles before every meal so you can snack before you get your meal!
google avatar

Megan R.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was excellent! Bang for your buck! We ordered ahead and had it delivered, it was quick and on time. Order the carrot cake, you won't be disappointed! It's colossal for a reason; we will definitely be going back when we are in Baton Rouge again.

Yelp
I love fresh flowers on a dining table! Great brunch spot after church. Quiet with quick service and friendly staff. The food was delicious and the kids enjoyed the space as well. Definitely had enough food to enjoy and take some home after.

Dustan B.

Yelp
Had a diaper party here for my brother -- the staff was super friendly, but it seemed like the restaurant wasn't fully informed about our event. There was some confusion with the bar tab and food orders, and our server had multiple big tables, so service was a bit slow. Another event was going on too, which made things a little hectic. Still, the staff handled it all as best they could and were really nice. Just wish the planning had been smoother.

Yelp
This place is a must visit. The food and service were wonderful. We will definitely be back. Ask for Pam and be sure to have the carrot cake!

Yelp
We have gone to BRQ for Thanksgiving for several years and it had always been great. As a matter of fact, it has been a staple stop for most birthdays ( if not just for the carrot cake!) This year, however, will be my last. Everything tasted overly salty. The dressing was so salty that I couldnt even eat more than 1 bite. The same with the green bean casserole. I pretty much only ate the potatoes and a few bites of turkey. For $35 it was definitely Not worth it. I should have just ordered a sandwich. That was my last visit to BRQ for thanksgiving and my last dinner stop for a long long time.
google avatar

Jazz B.

Yelp
You have to checkout brunch at this please. Me and my GF went a couple weeks back and it was great. You'll have to wait awhile to get a table if you're not there early but it's worth the wait. The day we went was the perfect morning to sit outside. I had the chicken and waffles and my GF had the chicken fried steak. I wish would have gotten a picture of hers too.
google avatar

Teresa W.

Yelp
The ribs here are pricey but they truly are the best in Baton Rouge! Now as far as nonalcoholic drinks go the soft drinks are bottled and the cokes and dr peppers are really small for $3.50 something, I usually get the iced tea it's refillable as is the lemonade but when your craving a coke just know no refills
google avatar

Beth S.

Yelp
BRQ brunch continues to be one of my favorites. The parking lot is super easy even though it's on a hill. The bar is pretty good sized and seat yourself. The bar staff is always super kind and attentive. I like to get there pretty close to open at 10:30a and can sit right away. They start you with house made pickles and chips which are a must! The chips are seasoned well and balance with the sweet tanginess of the pickles. My favorite brunch so far is the BRQ Benedict, but I get it with chopped brisket ($2 up-charge) instead of the pulled meats. Sometimes they don't put enough sauce and I have to request more but it's always worked out. A great place for a friend date or first date. Give it a try!

Yelp
This place was awesome! We did a late lunch/ early evening snack and got the Fried Chicken Sliders with pimento Cheese, side of House Onion Rings, Cornbread, and Pit beans. The fried chicken sliders were delicious!! They came on Hawaiian roll so the ratio of chicken to bun was a bit off but still tasty. It probably could have used slightly more pimento cheese as well just to have a bit more wetness. And it only came with one pickle which I moved inside and added some of the complimentary pickles that we were given before and it rounded out the sandwich nicely! The pit beans we asked to make vegetarian without bacon In it and it was a true winner of this meal - so much flavor and smokiness but didn't taste meaty. Lastly, the cornbread was delicious, maybe could have used a touch more seasoning but the order came with 3 which was sufficient for us. All in all we wanted our fix of barbecue (and we only Eat chicken) and this place definitely did the trick. The ambiance was great and quiet while we were there since it was an odd hour. The place is humongous and has outdoor seating as well and lots of parking space. And server was awesome - he was an LSU student and any time we had a question about the menu and didn't know, he'd go back to the kitchen and ask for us which was great. Would definitely come back here and also Consider trying those loaded nachos starter as well!
google avatar

Sarah W.

Yelp
BRQ is a constant in my life. I go once a week because the food is just always good right along with the service. It's a fun lunch spot to break up the work day. Always packed at lunch but I've never had to wait for a table so don't let the full parking lot deter you! The kale and brussel salad is just too good. Thursday's special is chicken enchiladas and they are seriously maybe the best in Baton Rouge. Even the side of rice is amazing. Service is always great and the homemade chips are so good they will interfere with how much of your meal you can eat because you might fill up on the chips!

Sarah S.

Yelp
The only thing I would give less star's was the high top chairs. This place was AWESOME! Way better then thought it would be.
google avatar

Dayna L.

Yelp
On a work trip I needed food after traveling all day! Found the place here on yelp and decided to try. So so glad I did. It was late afternoon after lunch but before the dinner crowd. the food was really good the service was exceptional. The place clean and all the staff were friendly even those that didn't serve me. I left full happy and with a to go order. If I were here longer I would be back.
google avatar

Traci B.

Yelp
Food was delicious! Service was very good! The bbq chips and pickles were unexpectedly delicious! Each dish was very good! 4 stars because it's a little pricey and I can't go very often because of the price!

Yelp
Visited on September 14th for lunch. My beautiful husband order the CATFISH ACADIAN 2 fried catfish filets topped with crawfish etouffee, served with mashed potatoes and sauteed green beans, ($28). The portion size was excellent. Those mash potatoes were so good that we both agreed we could eaten them as a meal alone. Lawd, I forgot to take a picture of the dish. But it was beautifully pleasing to the eyes and palate. I ordered the Smoked Chicken Wings ($18, Green Beans ($9), and Pit Beans ($6). Sadly, my entree fell off the stage with the first bite. I managed to eat a flat before choking due to dryness. The Pit Beans for us wasn't tasty and we didn't eat them. The Green Beans was mediocre also. Again, those Mashhh Potatoes were excellent. If you like draft beer you will not probably want to come as they only serve beer in bottles or cans poured in a chilled glass. Alcohol is on the expensive side. As previously mentioned the wings were a hot dry mess. I spoke with the waitress and requested to have it be removed from bill. She in return referred me to management. The manager came to our table and after explaining to him my request he was so sweet and apologetic asking if I wanted anything else. I said no. At the end of the day we are very pleased with first visit despite the chicken blooper. I encourage you to take a visit and judge for yourself if it fits you.

Yelp
I.am.never.disappointed! We sat at the bar, and Jacob was excellent! The best drinks and has a fantastic knack for concocting his drinks. The BBQ-stuffed meatballs over a bed of mashed potatoes are a starter must! The Gulfish with capers and green beans was delicious and on point! The fish Al dente and flaky good! Jacob and his staff are so friendly! Great food in a fantastic atmosphere! I can't wait for the weather to cool to enjoy live music on their back patio!
