"Egg-topped burgers, eggs Benedict sandwiches, and bloody marys are coming to the Modera Belmont building this week. Brunch Box, the downtown cart-turned-restaurant specializing in elaborately decked-out burgers, will open its second restaurant this Saturday on SE Morrison, with an expanded menu, cocktails, and plenty of seating. Owner Derek Coughlin says the new restaurant will double the downtown location’s existing breakfast options, including a number of what he calls “Benedict sandwiches” — egg breakfast sandwiches with hollandaise on English muffins. He’s also excited about a breakfast sandwich called the Benny Bacon Bagel Burger, a bacon cheeseburger with a fried egg and hollandaise served on a bagel. The restaurant will also serve beer and cocktails, including bloody marys, screwdrivers, and whiskey drinks. For those who want to skip the booze, Brunch Box SE will have a number of non-alcoholic cocktails and drinks, including fruit punch, limeade, and a mysterious teal-colored “opal-ade.” The restaurant will seat right under 50 people, with electronic ordering kiosks and an app for online ordering — the restaurant will have counter-service workers, as well, for the luddites. The restaurant will begin serving customers on April 20, with half-priced milkshakes, a grilled cheese eating contest, and a celebratory toast at 4:20 p.m." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

03/06/20: 4.5 out of 5 - I came here with my wife, niece, nephew and Mother-in-law. We've been to this Brunch Box many times. Just haven't gotten around to doing a proper review. The Business Admittedly, I was impressed with the outside of the restaurant. It is the newer of the two locations in Portland. Looked clean and well kept. Has some new tech that you can partake in, as well as the App to order ahead of time. Inside, the seating area seemed to be pretty well spaced out between tables, though. Easy to move about. Impressed with how the restaurant is kept quite clean, to include the vents! I have a thing for poorly maintained vents in any restaurant. Scored: 4.75 out of 5. The Staff The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff have always seemed to be great. Always nice and accommodating. I usually don't like to tip when many restaurants and eateries are pushing the "tipping agenda" when it's just counter service, and that I have to clean up after myself. But, I tipped this time because the staff seems to go above and beyond each time I have eaten here. Scored: 4.75 out of 5. The Food I had ordered the Monstrosity. It's a big burger with two Texas Toast Cheese sandwiches as the buns. What can I say but, "Absolutely delicious!". By the way, Brunch Box does serve breakfast items, as well. Very tasty. Scored: 4.75 out of 5. The Bathroom This may seem to be a funny thing to rate, but the bathroom in any restaurant/eatery should ALWAYS BE CLEAN and in tip top condition and working order...ALWAYS. Fortunately, for this Brunch Box the bathrooms were very clean and simply nice. Scored: 4.5 out of 5. The Price Unfortunately for Brunch Box, the prices are a little high. What can you do, it's Portland, Oregon and the overhead costs are outrageous. The fortunate thing for Brunch Box is that I do like the burgers every so often along with breakfast items. Scored: 3.75 out of 5. If I am back in the area, I will stop in again if I am feeling like a burger or something breakfast-y. I will update this review accordingly. If you are in the area and finding yourself wanting a tasty burger then give this Brunch Box a try. I hope your experience is as good as mine. As I always say, try it out once and decide for yourself. Enjoy!

Oh my holy jeez this place is so good. I'm really glad they opened a location on the East side. I had the Ridonculous which is a cheeseburger with bacon, ham, spam, and a fried egg between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches for the bun. Whoa. It was the right kind of tasty. Weird to say, but it was a good kind of buttery greasy without being too buttery greasy. And everything was the right amount of flavorful without detouring too far from what you'd expect of these foods together.

Amazing breakfast sandwiches! Me and my boyfriend stopped by here to get breakfast, he got the lumberjack sandwich and I got the loaded potato breakfast. Both were extremely flavorful and affordable. My sandwich cost 7.5 and was very filling and I recommend getting a side of saracha to go with it! Service was great, they maintaining social distance guidelines and have spaced out waiting area. Was about a 20 minute wait but well worth it.

You know when you just crave a burger.... well look no further! My favorite is the youcanhascheeseburger, grilled cheeses as the buns? Say what? So very tasty! Their blackened fries and lime aid are also winners! Service is quick and very friendly as well!

Best sandwich of my life! This place is super clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming. And literally EVERYTHING about my sandwich was fresh. I got the bandito, which has grilled jalapenos- i hate preserved jalapenos- they did an amazing job! The chicken had a great flavor and was really juicy! I can't wait to come back!!!

This is absolutely the driest burger I have ever had. Biting through the buns was like eating instant mashed potatoes still in the package. All the moisture was sapped from my mouth to revivify the bread. I understand you probably have a back log of sesame buns in the freezer having piled up during the pandemic, but please pull them. There’s absolutely no sense in a bun disintegrating after three bites! The blue cheese over the patties was not enough to mask the meat brick I was biting into. These patties can absolutely not stand on their own. The over abundance of sauces in the menu reflects this. The blackened fries were decent and the staff was both amicable and welcoming. I wish I could like this place but the product just isn’t there.

Nice modern setup with tasty burger. Got a burgermeister with spicy garlic fries. Was glad I had friends with me or I would never have been able to finish as much as we did. They also have an app and in store kiosks for ordering for when you are in a hurry it just don't want to deal with people.

Great food, awesome milkshakes. I got a oreo milkshake with a banana added in, apparently they have lots of different options for milkshakes. Also the Fries and Shine french fries, with bacon and green onions.
