Best Restaurants On A Boat In London When You’ve Exhausted Your Options On Land

"Caravel’s sister spot is moored next door on the Islington side of the Regent’s Canal. Bruno’s is a moody cocktail bar, with plush, pink velvet armchairs made for hushed tête-à-têtes over sweet rum and pineapple drinks. Grab one of the high stools for pre-dinner grapefruit-spiked Negronis or squirrel yourself away on the sofa for an unhurried beer. The soft lighting, steamy windows, and chilled-out playlist set the mood to comfy-luxe." - sinead cranna

The 16 Best First Date Bars In London

"Bruno’s makes your date's job easy. The Islington bar woos, charms, and seduces you before you even sit down. It’s from the folks behind bistro restaurant Caravel and is located inside the adjacent barge on the Regent’s Canal. Sink into a plush, pink velvet armchair, made for hushed tête-à-têtes over sweet rum and pineapple cocktails, or snag a high stool for a pre-dinner grapefruit-spiked Negroni. The soft lighting, steamy windows, and chilled-out playlist set the mood to cosy-luxe—ideal date territory when you want to whip out the “I know this little place” line." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna

The Bar Hit List: The Best New Bars In London - London - The Infatuation

"Prepare to be wooed, charmed, and seduced by Bruno’s before you even sit down. It’s from the folks behind bistro restaurant Caravel (a.k.a “London’s most alluring floating fire hazard”) and located inside the adjacent barge on the Regent’s Canal in Islington. Sink into a plush, pink velvet armchair, made for hushed tête-à-têtes over sweet rum and pineapple cocktails, or snag a high stool for a pre-dinner grapefruit-spiked negroni. The soft lighting, steamy windows, and chilled-out playlist set the mood to cosy-luxe—ideal third date territory when you want to whip out the “I know this little place” line. Equally, if there are a few of you who want a beer somewhere nicer than your local, there’s squirrelled-away, corner sofa seating under the stairs. Whoever you bring will be utterly charmed." - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Daisy Meager, Sinead Cranna

Where To Meet Up With Someone You Swiped Right On - London - The Infatuation

"USP: You’re drinking cocktails… on a boat On paper, a canal-side barge isn’t the greatest suggestion in the world to someone you’ve never met. You’d think at best it’s giving incense and WOMAD anecdotes, but Bruno’s is somewhere that’s very seductive (and doesn’t have any parachute pants in sight). It’s a softly lit and plushly decorated cocktail bar that bobs next door to Islington bistro Caravel. The vibe is what we’d describe as ‘cosy-luxe’ and is perfect if you want to whip out the “I know this little place” line." - Rianne Shlebak, Jake Oliver

I would give this place 100 stars if i could. The drinks were sensational and the interiors are classy and cosy. Its a lovely spot with incredibly thoughtful staff. Tip when booking: make sure you select whether you want to sit indoors or outdoors. The team do their beat to accommodate everyone but several customers expected to sit outside when they reserved an inside table. The booking form makes it clear so try to select where you actually want to sit. No problem for us as we booked inside and were very happy there. Thanks for having us!

Epic little bar on the canal. Cool atmosphere, insanely good drinks (like forget about any other cocktails you've ever tried) and delicious food from next door! Had a great evening, thank you so much Louis and the team.

Beautiful secret gem by the canal. Absolutely great for a casual drink or date. A bit pricy but okay. Only downside: the waiter comes to refill your glass of water every 5 minutes, completely breaking the pace of your private conversation, so they can add 12% service charge for a few drinks. Apart from that, great.

Cocktails are good, but if you are going there for dinner, DON’T. Food is barely average, and a service we received was slow and seemed like everyone else got more attention than our table. They also didn’t acknowledge my birthday, which we specifically came to celebrate and put it in the booking. They had to be reminded by us, an then we also had to order the chocolate cake from the menu, because that was the only dessert they could put a candle on top, out of the 2 options they had for dessert. Also when we ordered our dessert, we wanted to order coffees as well, and we were told they can not do coffees here. But after we finished our desserts, another staff member asked us if we want any coffees. Which we did, and they brought it over from the other boat, Caravel. They also seated us on a table, where the table clothes were dirty. Not recommend for romantic dinners, or any kind of celebrations.

We had a private party at Bruno’s and had the best time. Jo was super helpful in arranging everything and was even able to show me around the boat before we booked it. All staff members were amazing and so accommodating. I cannot possibly recommend their negronis enough - possibly the best I have ever had. Amazing cocktails and great vibe.

Dimly lit and cosy atmosphere, lovely decor and great staff. My favourite drink was the Chido, which was wonderful.
