Iconic Carnegie Deli Returns to NYC for Amazon Marketing Stunt | Eater NY

"I learned that a fire on the building's top floor has temporarily shuttered Bruno Pizza at 204 East 13th St.; water damage affected the restaurant, ConEd shut off electricity, gas, and water to the entire building, and the length of the closure is still unknown." - Stefanie Tuder

Critic Is Sick of Food Being Politicized | Eater NY

"I noticed that in the East Village Bruno Pizza has added pizza crust ice cream to the menu—made by infusing crust into the ice cream base—and it's already a mini sensation following a spot on The Chew." - Stefanie Tuder

Google
Truly a must try! First time visiting, and it's definitely not the last! Best customer service, phenomenal pizza, and great atmosphere. Must try the dessert pizzas!

Google
Fantastic service, food, and atmosphere. It definitely has a family run vibe, and that you’re more than just a customer. My wife and I had our first date at the old location down by campus, but the food here was just as good as we remember, especially the Bruno dough! Our small kids enjoyed the twistable crayons and coloring activity and loved the pasta! Definitely worth a visit!

Tanvi S.

Google
The atmosphere of the restaurant is good but unfortunately they allow dine in only on Thursdays. The service was fast enough (about 15 min). About food, veggie pizza was decent, loaded with lots of veggies, cheese and a good flavor of marinara sauce. Tbh Bruno dough was disappointing for me (probably not something I would eat at any restaurant). If asked if I can eat there again, I will probably answer yes.

Google
First visit to new location. Pizza didn’t seem to taste as good as previously. You had better like your veggies in big pieces as there were several green peppers in 2” squares. Still use canned mushrooms. The pizza sauce seemed sweeter than before, but maybe it’s just my taste buds changing. Wait staff was great, and everybody liked that you came.

Steven H.

Google
Some of the best pizza I've ever tried. They mix their pizza cheese with mozzarella and provolone and the sauce was very saucy, savory and a little sweet! Jake works his magic with the oven and is a master chef!

Erica J.

Google
The restaurant has a great atmosphere! The waitress Megan was very nice and the food was very good. There is a wide variety of choices on the menu for appetizers, dinners, and desserts! We were not very hungry so we decided to split the lasagna which also came with a good-sized house salad. We got the mini cupcake to go for $1.75! It was very good! It’s nice to be able to order a smaller dessert unlike most restaurants where the desserts are very large and cost much more. If we return to the area again, we will definitely come back to Bruno’s!

Rachel D.

Google
Always tasty pizza, good lettuce in the salads, love the crispness on the pizza, Bruno dough is delicious. Our server this visit was Abby. Thank you Abby for your attentive service and sunny disposition. We appreciated it 😃

Jorge B.

Google
Awesome, it is just great. If you come and visit is a must. If you live here and do not know this place, get out of that cave and go get some awesome pizza.

Yelp
First time to the new restaurant. The team was very friendly and helpful. They hustled to serve us and make sure we were happy. Finding the way to get to Bruno's is not easy. You have to wind through residential areas to get there. The parking lot is long and thin. A bit difficult getting in and out. Bruno's shares the lot with the brewery. Finding the Bruno's door is a bit difficult. Do I come in the front or the back? Once inside I was shocked at how small the seating area was. There were about 8 tables that would seat 40 people. Dinning in could be a challenge on a busy night. The seating was comfortable and relaxing. There was only one large wall of nostalgia to enjoy - just not the same. The food was just like you remember. The Bruno dough was a bit tough on this occasion. It was hard to bit and chew. The Deluxe pizza was excellent. The sweet sauce is my favorite. The cheese was piked high and thick - delicious!! The crust is thin and cooked with a slight crisp.

Yelp
Went in on a busy Friday night for dinner at their new location, bt Brokerage. Even though I'd lived in Lafayette for almost three years, I decided it was time to see what the hype was all about! Pros - Even though it was a packed place, with a ton of to-go orders, we (group of four) were in and out in an hour and a half, even with two apps, two pizzas, and a stromboli. - Plentiful toppings on our pizza. Tons of good meat and flavor. - Service was good for a packed Friday night crowd, with our waiter checking on us, and refilling drinks before it was needed. Con (kind of) - Price is a bit high, but for a local spot with a HUGE cult following, it could have been worse.

Yelp
This was our second time here and absolutely loved it again! The food is phenomenal and the service is quick! I love the decor and history behind it!

Yelp
Got a large bookmaker pizza (a supreme). Toppings were loaded which as fantastic. Taste wise, it felt average. Nothing to crazy, but better than your typical fastfood pizza joint. It was about $21 for a large 14" pizza which seemed a little above average. Staff was friendly and the restaurant had some interesting decor. Overall not a bad place, I wasn't personally head over heels but I'm not a major pizza person. 6.3/10

Yelp
Food and ambiance were exactly as I remember them. Much more a carry out place now, but the service was friendly and the prices were good.

Yelp
Bruno is a solid pizza place in West Lafayette that has the most amazing sports memorabilia room. Seriously they have memorabilia from every Purdue star and even stuff from Purdue athletes that made it to the big leagues. It is very fun to walk around and see it. Their pizza is thin style, cut into strips - which even for tavern thin I found odd, but whatever! Ingredients taste fresh. We also tried their dough balls, which I think are just fried dough - almost like funnel cake without the sugar. However, when paired with nacho cheese they were pretty good (I mean what isn't). We went there for an event, but it seems like they are only open for dine in a couple days a week and the weekend is all private parties only. There were TONS of take out orders. Big parking lot. Good spot by Purdue.

Yelp
We have visited Bruno's new location twice in the past month, and I'm happy to say the quality is just as outstanding as ever. The pizza and Bruno Dough remain excellent--just like in the pre-COVID days. Our server, Scott, who came from the old location (yes, I remember the ORIGINAL original spot!), provided excellent service as always. It was fun to chat with him about the old days and old location. Over the years, we've tried nearly every highly recommended pizza in the Indy area, and nothing compares to Bruno's. In fact, it's easily one of the top three pizzas in Indiana--right up there with House of Pizza in Hammond and Aurelio's in Munster/East Chicago. One year, we even made a statewide pizza tour, and Bruno's still stands above the rest. A few changes to note: Bruno's now only serves beer and wine (no more cocktails, which longtime regulars might miss), and the menu has been streamlined. Gone are some classics like Spaghetti a la Caruso and chicken livers, but the essentials--pizza, sandwiches, pasta, and salads--are still fantastic. No more fondue tower for Valentines. We'd get that for our anniversary. I'd give the overall experience 4.5 stars (the small space is the only drawback), but the food itself is a solid 5. Maybe someday they'll expand to a larger location. Fun side note: I chatted with a customer from Illinois who claimed Bruno's beats most of their pizza--so much so that they make the trip just for it. Well, we drive up from Indy for Bruno's too, so that says something!

Yelp
My wife and I had a very successful take-out experience from Bruno's tonight. This was our first time getting food from here and, even though this seems to be primarily known as a pizza place, we ordered non-pizza items: my wife had the mushroom ravioli, I had a meatball sub, and we split an order of "Bruno dough". The mushroom ravioli was, according to my wife, excellent; she really raved about it. My meatball sub was quite good as well. The Bruno dough (fried pizza bread with garlic) was OK, and we're glad we tried it, but we probably won't be in a hurry to order it again. I had considerable difficulty ordering online: I got through the entire process but when I clicked "submit" nothing happened. I tried again, double-checking every item I filled in, with the same results. Finally I just gave up and ordered over the phone. The young lady who took my order was, at least, very friendly and efficient. The order was ready on time and was completely accurate. Prices are a bit on the high side, but nothing outrageous, especially considering the quality of the food and the reputation the place seems to have here in town. We will certainly come back here for take-out in the future. I'm curious about the pizza.

Yelp
Great food and friendly service. Easy pickup process. Will go back to check out the cozy bar area

Yelp
I love Bruno's, as it is a staple in West Lafayette with a ton of history. I was excited to hear that you can now dine in again! The restaurant has tons of Purdue memorabilia and hasn't changed one bit on the inside. Tina was our waitress, and was fantastic. We started with the Bruno dough which came out so fast. I love their pizza, especially the cheese and apple butter.

Ryan H.

Yelp
Chocolate. Peanut butter. Cheese? Pizza? Yes and it works. Normal pies are great too.

Mike B.

Yelp
their food is excellent but it's hard to get them to answer the phone. They have no delivery service set up yet and are online does not work 99% of the time Mike B.

Yelp
Bruno's is a West Lafayette institution, famous for scissor-cut pizza, Big O's sports memorabilia, and fried dough balls covered in garlic butter and Parmesan. Generations of Boilermaker faithful love this place, and I suspect generations more will too, but not me. I've had enough. The pizza ingredients are good, but I prefer mine fully baked, thank you. There's not a square inch of browned cheese in sight at Bruno's. Melted, yes, for the most part. Browned? Ah, no. The restaurant has a very loud sports-themed dining room, covered in sports memorabilia. At full capacity, this room is a claustrophobic cacophony of screaming kids, ESPN, and birthday parties. The Swiss room plays homage to the original Bruno location across State Street, which had a Swiss chalet feel. Chalk that location up to progress and new roads. There's a bar room in the back. The best thing on the menu - an antipasto meat and cheese plate - is no more. The final straw was when we were refused a take out cup for WATER. Classic. We got the Heisman on grandma's request for a cup of water for the road. Two pizzas, two sodas, all for $45, mediocre service for free. Sorry Boiler Nation, I won't return to Bruno's. Overrated and overpriced.

Yelp
I'm in town for a family event and wanted to take my family to a restaurant I frequented as a Purdue student and even had my rehearsal dinner there for our wedding. Both Yelp and their website showed normal hours of operations, but when we arrived, we were told there was no inside dining on the weekends. We went on a Friday. This morning, there seems to be an update on their website, but the "our dining room is only open during the week" section is smaller font and grey. I would suggest making that in big bold red letters so people know they cannot visit your restaurant on the weekends, when most people visit campus. Also, update yelp because most people now are starting their search for places to eat there. Sorry, this pains me to write a bad review for a place that has such good food, but when you don't clearly advertise when you are and are not open, that's poor management and disappointing.

Mariyam S.

Yelp
Got a pizza to go... although I didn't get a chance to eat in, I did go in and check out the inside bit, and I have to say - this is a really cute restaurant! It was packed on a Friday night, and I loved the dim lighting and casual feel of the place. The gentleman who served us was very friendly and polite, despite the rush hour. In terms of the pizza... I got the Bruno's veggie with jalapeños as extra topping (14 inch, came to approx $20). To be honest, I was quite disappointed. They definitely like their cheese, which I'm a big fan of, but it looked like the cheese had been poured over the toppings, so the toppings were quite soggy under all of that melted goo. The crust and base were not impressive and were a little harder than I'd like. I might go back to try a non-veg pizza, but if you're a vegetarian looking for a good veggie pizza, I can't recommend Bruno's.

Yelp
Bruno's is absolutely delicious! And I love their family atmosphere and how friendly the entire staff is. It's very much a family business and they care about their customers. I've gone here pre-COVID-19, but this review is in regards to their current take-out. The quality and service did not falter by any means. The pizza was ready and hot to take home and everything was nicely packed. There were many people on staff and everything seemed working like a machine, organized and quick. So many moving hands knowing what to do, working diligently and fast. They were very happy to see us and grateful for our loyalty. Their pizza was fresh, super filling, and extra cheese? Yeah, it really means extra cheese and we were very thankful for it!

Yelp
Heart eyes all around!! My in-laws treated my husband and I to pizza and Bruno dough on our most recent excursion to Lafayette. I've heard about this place for so long and was not disappointed once I got tri it! From the crispy fried Bruno dough to their loaded pizzas, we left with full tummies and full hearts. Be sure to check out all their extensive Purdue memorabilia- it pays homage to all the best Boliermakers.

Yelp
This was a favorite restaurant of my husband during his time at Purdue several years ago. After a few visits on our own, and now with kiddos, it is one of my favorites as well! At first glance one could think their menu is what you'd expect to see at a standard pizza joint - but upon closer glance you'll find some really unique menu items: Apple butter & PB dipping sauce for the Bruno Dough on the kids menu, chicken livers on the spaghetti a la caruso, and even a cheese and peanut butter pizza! My favorite bits about Bruno's: -Memorabilia everywhere - all signed with the owner, Orlando's name! It is clear that he is well-loved. And, my toddler LOVES to explore the restaurant to check it all out. -The bruno dough - basically donuts made of pizza dough (8 per order). We get it with the meat sauce, which is also the same meat sauce used in the pasta dishes. It is outstanding. -They're kid friendly - meaning they've got a kids menu with decent portions of real food, they serve milk, they provide crayons and paper, and they have slings and booster seats available. -The house salad reminds me of the mixed vegetable salads from my time studying in Germany. It comes with radishes, egg, chopped beets, shredded carrots, and more. Yum. :) My only beef with Bruno's is that the tap water tastes a little bit off. I don't know any other way to put it, but if you're between a water and a beer, get a beer. ;)

Levi L.

Yelp
Update your hours online! Dining room is not open on Saturday or Sunday's! Hour drive later, they sent us away! Thanks for nothing

Yelp
I've been coming to Bruno's for the majority of my life as a Purdue fan and now as a student. It is the best pizza in West Lafayette, and I don't think it's a close competition. Bruno's is a true family business, and the standards have never once changed. While I have never tried any of their pasta dishes, I have no reason to believe they aren't fantastic. The pizzas are always great. Even with COVID-19 limiting the business to carry-out only, I have never had a bad pizza from Bruno's. The inside of the restaurant is a must-see for Purdue fans. Big O's collection of Purdue memorabilia is truly special. I look forward to the day when I can dine-in again!

Yelp
Drew Brees No Cheese! More meat than a cattle ranch. Our server was super friendly. The dough balls are a must too. If you like Drew Brees like I do, there is a ginormous bobble head Brees to take a photo with. Lots of TVs for football. Enough Purdue memorabilia to be a museum. Must stop while in town.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm an Italian American girl transplanted from the east to Indiana and I miss my pizza ! This is the only pizza I've found that even comes close to NY pizza and the only one I'll eat . I get the crust extra crispy and it a very good pizza the best I've had on Indiana

Yelp
Another wonderful visit to Bruno's. This is the real deal when it comes to great pizza. We visited here tonight and had our regular order. We had a large pizza with mushroom and pepperoni, Bruno dough, side salads, coffee. Just amazing tasting meal. This is a neighborhood gem. Busy place with quality service. Friendly place that has many more menu choices. Brimming with Purdue memorabilia. Television tuned to sports games. Always a festive atmosphere. Bruno's always does it right. Can never wait to return again. Thanks management and staff.
google avatar

Luke W.

Yelp
The cliche family spot for the Purdue student for all the right reasons. Tasty variety of pizzas, nice assorted salads and pastas, and perhaps best of all for the family needs a welcoming and accommodating staff able and eager to handle large groups. For you bored types, the classic peanut butter pizza is a must try. I love about three pieces of it then never think of it again til next time here. Bruno's is the classic dinner joint for making memories and has dished out top service since my first pizza here back in their old building. Five stars for sure!
google avatar

Joanna S.

Yelp
After our service tonight, I don't care if I ever visit thus restaurant again. The pizza we ordered was mixed up for another pizza at our table & when the waiter took our other pizza back because it was missing ONIONS, the kitchen staff (pizza maker) simply threw a hand full of RAW ONIONS on the pizza & then sent it back to our table. What's wrong with this is so many things... 1) it took about 10 minutes & by the time the waiter returned, the pizza wasn't even close to being warm...let alone, hot. 2) as stated before, they simply threw a bunch of RAW ONIONS on it & sent it back out to us. 3) when I tried to explain to the waiter/kitchen pizza maker person, he was totally rude about it & 4) the dough wasn't cooked through. I have to say, that I realize in a college town, my lonely review is probably the least of their concern, but...they need to STOP & think that they need to try a little harder and mak e the dining experience for people who drove 45 minutes to get there a little better.

Yelp
I came here with my husband (a Purdue alumnus) and two friends (who work at Purdue) while visiting for the weekend. We had a reservation and arrived separately. Due to a snafu at the host stand, we were seated separately and figured it out through some hilarious text messages. It doesn't seem like it would be hard to make a note that you seated the half the party and where you seated them, but alas. We started with an order of the fried dough balls, which were okay. I was hopeful that they would have more garlic kick to them. It was a disappointing that they didn't, but they were still good when paired with the accompanying cheese or marinara sauces. I ordered the manicotti and was pleased. The serving was the perfect size. The pasta was filled with creamy ricotta and baked with cheese and marinara sauce. Overall, much better than I expected and I was happy with my choice. My only real complaint involves a small cup of ranch dressing that fell from our server's tray and splattered on several people in our seating area. My jacket was covered, as was my leather purse. The server was apologetic and quickly brought napkins. She told me that if I wanted to have my coat dry cleaned, I could take it to the place across the parking lot and bring the receipt back. I explained I was visiting from out of town for the weekend... and that was the end of the discussion. There was no offer to reimburse me for dry cleaning when I got back home or even a free dessert. I spent the rest of the weekend smelling like ranch dressing. Overall, good food and definitely a fun, lively atmosphere. Maybe bring a poncho?
google avatar

Jon S.

Yelp
It's locally owned, and that's enough for me. I believe in supporting folks who aren't going to send a portion of my money to some corporate office. It also means that food is prepared by people who really care about it on a more personal level. The specials are actually "special" and not something that a marketing committee voted for. It's food that has it's own local flavor & style, which might not work anywhere else. It's Italian, it's Swiss...but it's also American--and uniquely so. And it's damn tasty. So, skip the chain restaurant and eat some real food.
google avatar

Lindsey D.

Yelp
My friends and I were in town for a conference and were told that Bruno's had the best pizza in town. So, a group of us headed over there in multiple cars, hoping to get seated together. Parking was a little crazy - there are lots of things located in this same area. We went in and put in our name and estimated group size. They were really busy, so it took awhile to get seated. Everyone eventually made it in and the waitress came over to start taking orders. She informed us that large groups eating at Bruno's could not receive separate checks. Say what? Yes, we had a large group, but we're poor grad students - no one alone could afford to foot the bill for all of us! After a little bit of coaxing, she said that she would make an exception for us and we said we would go easy on her and tip her well to show our appreciation. Apparently, Bruno Dough is their most famous appetizer, so my friend got an order and shared them. Tasty, indeed. For the main meal, most people in our group ordered and shared various pizzas. I, on the other hand, had to order the Texas BBQ sandwich - pizza on a bun! It was SOOO GOOOOOOODDDD!!! I would go back again just for that sandwich, lol.

Yelp
This is a Purdue tradition. After I graduated from there, I picked this place for my celebratory dinner. I've never had a bad meal & the food is out of this world. If you aren't a Purdue fan, I wouldn't recommend this place--it is wall to wall pictures, memorabilia, and specials named after famous alums. You can't go to Bruno's without eating their Bruno Dough (their website is brunodough.com). I could eat my weight in these little guys dipped in marinara & cheese. Their pizza is the best and you can watch them making it from a window outside. Their pastas are great and I normally get their Chicken Cordon Bleu. My parents always got the Spaghetti a la Caruso growing up, but if you don't like chicken livers this is not the dish for you. Everything about this place is amazing & the drinks are strong to boot! It can be a bit pricey and they are open for dinner only, but it is totally worth it every time!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious pizza in a friendly place. I would suggest the bruno doigh as an appetizer. Jeffver and he was friendly and very efficient. We'll be back!
google avatar

Abigail C.

Yelp
Hubby and I made the trip up to West Lafayette for a fun Saturday, checking Yelp, helped us pick Bruno's. We were immediately intrigued by a restaurant that had both pizza and weinerschnitzel! We were seated by friendly hosts, and taken care of my an attentive server. So A+ for service! We started with the dough balls and were not disappointed! Delicious with both cheese sauce and meat sauce. Next we got a half meat pizza and a build your own! When I ordered extra cheese, I was not disappointed! The crust is very tasty and tastes homemade. All of the food and drinks were delivered and we were taken care of amidst the rush of post-football game customers! Overall we were pleased and plan to return!!

Yelp
Boiler Up! This place is fun and full of Purdue school spirit. We took the fam here for a Friday night trip to town and we loved it. My wife and I used to eat here when we were at Purdue and it just gets better with time. Must get Bruno Dough!! Pick a pizza any pizza and grab a beer. Enjoy!

Sam T.

Yelp
Screw this place. They used to be so fun to eat at. They are no longer open for dining in and they said they will never be. Can't wait to see them close. Fuck you Bruno's
google avatar

Tim F.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic. Cannot come back to Lafayette without going to Bruno's. I was great to see Orlando, Bruno and they're fantastic staff.

Bill S.

Yelp
GO NEXT DOOR TO PUCCINO'S YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED !!!!! You won't get the history that Bruno's has but will get a much better Pizza Worst experience I've had here and will not be coming back. Got the crustless pizza and was cheese only, no more than 8oz of cheese and some sauce, $14.95 which is more than a large cheese pizza with crust and twice as much cheese and sauce WOW!!!! I don't mind paying but Unbelievable that they feel comfortable charging this much for just cheese and sauce.
google avatar

Nathan B.

Yelp
I am going to put aside my bias as a Purdue student.. and say that Bruno's is the best restaurant in town! Bruno's is a staple of West Lafayette and all Boilermakers must go there. When you go make sure to start off with the famous Bruno Dough. This is the highlight of the meal and probably one of the best appetizers I have had anywhere. The pizza is also very good. Atmosphere is really cool especially if you are a Purdue fan. There is all sorts is signed memorabilia on the walls and it's the perfect place for a Boilermaker. Food is great, service is great, and atmosphere is great. It is a great spot for anyone visiting West Lafayette!
google avatar

Jeff W.

Yelp
Service was nice. Pizza was undercooked but the more I saw other pizzas and photos, maybe that is how they cook their crust. Sauce lacked flavor. No decent wine options.
google avatar

Frances P.

Yelp
We ordered the Boilermaker and it was awesome! Will definitely go back the next time we are in West Lafayette.
google avatar

Leighton M.

Yelp
The pizza is nothing to go crazy about. It's cut really weird so it's hard to eat. The service wasn't bad. Although my side salad looked like it was from an 80's diner, was not good at all. It's just one of those famous purdue sports puds. The atmosphere was cool but other than that it was nothing to rave about.
google avatar

Emma B.

Yelp
Get the Bruno dough, you will not regret it. Bruno's is excellent pizza, great service if you choose to dine-in, it's an excellent place to enjoy pizza and watch Purdue play.
google avatar

Katie C.

Yelp
I'm obsessed. Hands down, this is my favorite pizza in Indiana. It's so unique! It's hard to describe, but the taste is distinct and stands out in a crowd. Prices at Bruno's are kind of high, and they don't do delivery, but it's just worth it. I'm a huge fan of their Bruno Dough, and they actually make a great Caesar salad as well. This is my go-to when family is in town. Also, the staff is super friendly and the walls are covered with neat memorabilia!
google avatar

Katelyn F.

Yelp
So I'm new to Yelp and I have been here plenty of times, so I thought it is only fair to write a review! For dinner tonight I had the Spaghetti A La Caruso which is plain old spaghetti topped with chicken livers and onions. This meal is so delicious and very filling especially because you have to get the Bruno Dough while you are there! The environment is perfect, mainly for local Boilermakers! It's also a great place to get the vibe of West Lafayette itself. Great service as always, I'm sure I'll be back soon! Boiler up!
google avatar

Shyam S.

Yelp
Bruno's is one of those quintessential family restaurants that you only realize is average when you get older. It has probably stayed in business because it is comfortable, but slowly moving out of fashion, like mom's jeans. I was there a few days ago with a group of people and found the pizza to be mediocre at best. I am not really sure why people think this place is the bee's knees. I am a Purdue alumnus, but even I can admit that "excellent" and "pizza" are two words that don't really go together in West Lafayette. I may have to return and try their other menu items, but it's unlikely.
google avatar

Matthew C.

Yelp
My family absolutely loves Bruno's! It is owned and operated by Bruno's children and grandchildren. This is a Swiss restaurant with both German and Italian favorites. Pizza, pasta, Bruno dough, old-world style sausages, and Wienerschnitzel just to name a few of my favorites. Everything is very tasty and the place has quite a long list of regulars. You will be happy to have visited Bruno's! Try an apple butter sausage pizza.

Yelp
In a nutshell, Bruno's is a pretty good pizza place. -I think Bruno Dough (deep fried pizza dough buttered then sprinkled with cheese) is a bit overrated, but good. -Their pizzas are good, but I've had better (Puccini's anyone?) I must say that do enjoy their deluxe. Also they have some very unique desert pizzas that are worth a try. -The big salads are very good and go well along with pizza. -I've had a few of their other dishes from the menu. They were alright. -Service has always been good at Bruno's, prices are reasonable, and they are very accommodating to large groups. -The restaurant is pretty cool inside. There are a lot of TV's around to watch a game on, and tons of really cool sports gear decorates the walls. -There is a nice bar room and a good selection of local beers. Bottom line: Check it out with a group or a club social, and you should try the Bruno dough if you never have.

Yelp
Bruno's is a West Lafayette institution. From Swiss origins, it's sort of a pizza place, sort of a sports bar, sort of a general restaurant... with apple butter pizza and cowbells. Really, if you live in the area, you ought to be stopping by Bruno's at least once or twice a year.

Yelp
Bruno Dough with cheese and marinara was fantastic! I tried a sausage pizza and the Bruno's Meats. Just a few pieces and I was full. The crust is very good. The addition of crushed red pepper and oregano made the pizzas perfect.

Yelp
Mmm... Just ate here last night, can still taste the Bruno Dough... This is a pretty great place for being within walking distance to campus- it's got some history in the area, and it has tons of authentic Purdue memorabilia on the walls without feeling like Applebee's/generic-chain-restaurant. Their alpine lodge dining area, near the bar, is quite classy, and a good place for a drink and a pizza. As for the food, a couple of things to second that have already been mentioned: Bruno Dough is a must for the first-timers, and yes, their house salad is worth it. They really put some effort into that salad. I honestly think the pizza overshadows some of the better menu items- the lasagna here is fantastic, and I definitely recommend trying it. That said, sharing a pitcher and some pizza is a great way to waste some time with friends, and Bruno's is a great place to do that.

Yelp
The pizza didn't hold up to the reviews, good crust but there was to much mozzarella and not enough seasoning on the whole pizza
