Bru’s Public House in Carrboro is everything you want in a neighborhood hangout—laid-back, welcoming, and perfectly placed just a short walk from Cat’s Cradle if you’re grabbing dinner before a show. We sampled a few menu standouts: the French Dip was hearty and satisfying, though we were hoping for a bit more flavor punch. The fried chicken nachos were a creative twist, but the heat from the chicken kind of stole the spotlight from everything else. The Bruben, though? Absolute winner—rich, savory, and packed with personality.
The fries were top-tier crispy, and the poutine was pure, cheesy comfort food gold. Wash it all down with a Late Nights cocktail, which was smooth, balanced, and surprisingly refined for a pub drink.
Sports fans, take note: there’s a massive screen front and center, plus a whole wall of TVs over the bar, making it prime territory for game days. And on those perfect Carrboro afternoons, they open up the garage door to a fantastic outdoor space that’s great for catching fresh air, sunshine, and maybe a local brew. Whether you’re here to pregame a concert, catch a game, or just post up with good food and good company, Bru’s hits the mark.”
