We usually have a good experience at Brusters in Bridgewater, but things seem to have changed since we were last there. The order was for two small (two scoop) waffle cones, but the scoops were about half the size of a normal scoop. I pointed the issue out to the person at the counter and was told that this was the size you're really supposed to get...that they just usually over-scoop. To be fair, she offered to re-scoop the cones, but I declined. If she saw no issue in serving cones like this, it deserves documentation and comment. At over $4, this is shameful and I truly hope that Brusters has not gone the way of reducing portions. To be fair again, I had a 2 for 1 coupon, so I guess I got the equivalent of a single cone for the price. Local institution or not, we'll think twice before visiting again...it's the principle. I dipped more than my share of cones working fountain at Howard Johnson's in high school. You never let a 'bare ball' go out on a cone...you scooped to form a ledge around the top of the cone, or you got dressed down. Shameful.
