How Orange County’s South Coast Plaza Pulls in $2 Billion a Year | Eater LA

"Opened at Collage in October 2022 under franchisee Winnie Yee-Lakhani (the Smoke Queen) and her brother, this outlet is owner-operated, reflects significant personal investment from Yee-Lakhani, and presents a more chic plaza-specific look—complete with white marble tables—while bringing an approachable fried-chicken-and-waffle-sandwich concept into South Coast Plaza’s curated mix." - Jenn Tanaka

Bruxie at South Coast Plaza is located in Bloomingdale's along with other vendors. We ordered The Crispy, tenders, loaded waffle fries, and a grilled chicken salad. The CRISPY sandwich was well seasoned perhaps a tad too salty for me however it was nicely crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Honestly $13 for just the chicken sandwich (no fries and no drink) is wild to me. The Nashville hot TENDERS were tasty and not hot at all, just mild and the waffle fries were very good. The LOADED WAFFLE FRIES were delicious and coated in sauce and bacon bits. Plentiful to share. GRILLED CHICKEN SALAD could feed two people. The dressing was drizzled on and topped off with avocado slices, a sliced hard boiled egg, diced tomatoes, cheese, and bacon bits. Two chicken sandwiches, 3 tenders, loaded waffle fries, and a salad was a whopping $70. Dipping sauce was .60

Google
Instagrammable seasoned chicken. I liked it, the kids liked it. A bit heavy on the seasoning.

Google
Bruxie in Costa Mesa delivers a fantastic chicken and waffles...any way you like it: spicy, sweet, mild, savory, fruity, plain...yep it's ALL GOOD! You will not be disappointed since everything is made-to-order, your order tastes fresh, crispy, and borders on flavor-overload (just kidding, there's no such thing)! The loaded waffle fries were good, as well, and I highly recommend any of the breakfast waffles, sweet or savory! Seating is limited, so plan to go during the week for the best dining experience or expect to wait a little longer than usual on the weekends...but it's worth it!

Google
We ordered The original, The crispy, Loaded spicy tots, Waffle fries, Fresh orange juice, Strawberry lemonade. I don't like honey sauce, so I chose The Crispy instead of The Original with honey sauce. If you like chicken waffles with sweet sauce, The Original is highly recommended. (My friend liked it very much) If you like the original taste of chicken like me, The Crispy is the best:) The waffles and chicken were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, cooked just right! Among the waffle fries and tots I ordered as a side, I especially liked the tots. Try the Loaded spicy tots. I arrived at the store as soon as it opened in the morning, and the staff were very friendly in a very quiet atmosphere.

Google
Bruxie will always be good! This location is only a week old so hopefully they will add more seating as there is nowhere else to sit and eat. it's right at the entrance also to Bloomingdale's so it's not relaxing at all! The waffles and chicken were good . Will probably take a few months to get it dialed in! I don't think anyone can replicate the small town homey feeling of the Orange location next to Chapman University! Next visit will be back there. This was to chaotic!

Google
Amazing service! Fresh and super hot food! The angry Mac n cheese is delicious if you can handle the spice! Best sauces I’ve ever had! 🤤 Grab a custard shake on the way out! Delicious!

Google
The food customer service was great and the atmosphere is relaxing. Food wasn't bad at all. I wanted to try something different. I prefer they didn't fry the waffle too much grease for me and the fries was cold.

Rebecca G.

Google
When it comes to atmosphere, it's alright. I'm not a fan that it's so noisy because of all the different restaurants, but keep in mind it is a food court situation. Because of this, I only get takeout. The wait can be a little long depending on how busy it is, but I feel it's worth it. The food portion is always big and satisfying, so I'm always happy when I come here.

Yelp
This Bruxie location is in the fancy food court (the collage) of the South Coast Mall. You can access it from the parking lot without any impulse buying. It's on the parking level but the restrooms are downstairs. The food here is divine. Get the Nutella shake! Their "to-go" service is hoppin. Ample portions and delish! It was cute and busting with personality. Enjoy!

Yelp
They changed the ENTIRE Menu. Both of my favorites got taken OFF the menu and they no longer have the ingredients to make my order. No lemon curd with berries and no more ham & cheese. They aren't focusing on the waffle sandwiches anymore. I really regret driving an hour and 15 minutes out of my way. Definitely WONT be back. Super disappointing. I've been a bruxie fan for 11 years. Sad way to end my experiences with them Ok. Now that I've eaten what we ordered. Rating does NOT improve. The waffle for my chicken sandwich was soggy and fell apart way too fast. The strawberry waffle we ordered was supposed to have strawberry puree. It did NOT. Just the waffle with whipped cream and strawberries. The disappointment only deepens. Def def never coming back :(

Yelp
It's a really long time since we had Bruxie and decided to get a quick snack with the kids. I don't remember how the waffles were over 10 years ago but I was really enjoying the texture of the waffle. It was nice and crispy and a bit chewy. Bruxie is located upstairs next to paradise dynasty and at the entrance of collage food hall. A quick easy meal/snack if you're in the area or at South Coast Plaza

Yelp
Now this spot knows how to do some chicken and waffles!! I got the super cluck and it was really good!! The waffle is nice and flaky, juicy chicken and topped with a fried egg. Their orange shake was good too. Tastes like an orange creamsicle
google avatar

Fatima P.

Yelp
This review is not for the food but the app/rewards system. They used to have it for 1 point PER DOLLAR and now it's 10 CENTS PER DOLLAR! It's not worth it anymore. I have deleted the app. The prices were already kind of steep but this is a new low.

Yelp
It's been years since I've had Bruxie, their menu has changed from what I remember. I got a chicken waffle sandwich and waffle fries and it was a solid meal. Hit the spot. No notes. Service was decently quick. Their water dispenser was empty for a while so I couldn't get water. Casual ambiance in a food court type of setting with plenty of tables.
google avatar

Robert L.

Yelp
The original sandwich 7/10, good but kinda too wet and sticky not too much structure. Wouldn't crave it. Service was quick but we were also the only ones here on a Wednesday afternoon.

Yelp
I haven't heard of Bruxie since its location was closed down in Huntington Beach! I wanted to try it out again and see what other items they have! I got the Buffalo Tender Bites while my boyfriend got The Original Fried Chicken & Waffle w/ Waffle Fries. Best part about our meal was the crispy, light fries! Seasoned perfectly and had the most satisfying crunch where we were fighting for the last piece. My tender bites tasted like boneless buffalo wings (basically nuggets) and the chicken was so juicy. The sauce got kinda heavy where my boyfriend and I were taking turns downing our water. Overall, it's a solid chicken and waffle shop that I wouldn't mind coming back and trying out the other items they have.

Yelp
This location is inside a food hall in the corner of the mall complex. Fair amount of seats in the area around the restaurant with interesting and bright decor Service was an average/reasonable time and servers were nice. Ordered the Super Cluck waffle sandwich which had fried chicken, bacon, an egg, and syrup. It was good, but nothing too crazy. Chicken not super crispy or moist, but is fair and still tasty. It's a relatively messy sandwich to eat with the syrup and egg dripping everywhere, but luckily there were wet wipes at an area near where I was sitting. After tax, the sandwich came out to almost $20, which in my opinion is a little overpriced. Portion size wasn't amazing either Overall, I'd rate it a 6.5/10. It was enjoyable, but value is not there and did not blow me away with the flavor. Cool to try, but may not come again.

Yelp
Got my hands on one of their waffle sandwiches and it HIT. The waffle was perfectly soft while still slightly crispy and the fried chicken was so well seasoned, and gloriously moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. Paired with the Cole slaw and the sweet dressing on top, it was delightful!! Was never a fan of chicken and waffles but Bruxie's has converted me for sure!!

Yelp
Wow I would literally eat this everyday if I could.. I love the chicken here so much because of how big the portions are here and how flavorful tne chicken is all the time. My favorite here is the 2 tenders hot honey with the bruxie sauce, so good. I also recently tried the chicken and waffle here and I rly enjoy the texture of the waffle, it's crunchy on the outer rim and super fluffy and light on the inside and they provide you with a cute maple syrup bottle.
google avatar

Morgan N.

Yelp
Love the waffle sandwiches especially the Super Cluck becuase of how crispy and saucy the chicken is! I wish the waffle itself was crispier or possibly thicker because this time it got soft and soggy pretty quickly. I really enjoy the spacious seating outside and they made our order within 10 minutes. A great choice for some comfort food at the mall and you don't want to sit down for full service at a restaurant.

Yelp
This place is definitely giving your local waffle connoisseur a run for their money ! Came to this location because I wanted to see if it was worth the hype and they definitely get a A+ in my books!! I have has been to several Asian countries that he and I both agree that this waffle has a different kind of texture that is similar to some form of fusion of your traditional American waffle with street Asian fried food batter It's definitely unique and in its own lane as far as waffles currently on the market in the US ! It was very flaky and delicious and the portions were just right ! The service was very pleasant and quick ! It is located in the food court within the mall so the ambience honestly just depends on how pack the surrounding locations are, but it was very clean and well kept . The food and service was definitely a five out of five I will be back to this location when in the area

Yelp
We used to go to the one in Irvine. We ordered chicken and waffle ($13)with an additional piece of chicken tender ($3). The Belgian waffle recipe was different but much more crispier. The previous version was already good, especially when it included the sugar pearls. The current version sadly left out the pearl sugar, but I felt there might be cheese added to the crust. I think it was a little too crunchy, but it'll definitely pair well with syrup and heavy topping. Chicken tenders were well seasoned and not dry. They are of medium size so it wasn't overly heavy. The lady who helped us was patient enough, but could be a little friendlier. We only waited about 10 minutes to get our food, which was great. In the previous Irvine location, it'd normally take 15-25 minutes so I didn't like going while hangry. I'll come back for sure.

Yelp
I love bruxie. I've ordered from them many times over the years and they've always been a favorite. Sad to see so many locations have disappeared in the area so I was really happy to find this spot when I was at south coast plaza. Best place for chicken, waffles, and sandwiches. My go-to is usually the holy chicken but I tried a different sandwhich this time around and it was delicious as well!
google avatar

Karlee B.

Yelp
I love a good chicken and waffles and this was a great version of that! I'd still stand on the side of using utensils over eating it like a sandwich, because it's messy and the waffle got soggy from the syrup and juices. The chicken was well cooked and had a great crisp and waffle fries are just amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Decided to have lunch at Bruxie. The service was good and fast despite the lines being long. The food was delicious and tasted really good altogether for the meals. I decided to get a chicken tender combo with tater tots. The chicken was really juicy and crunchy and I love my chicken tenders like that. The tater tots were great. I love how crunchy they are and the different options of sauce that was available. The chicken sandwich was also delicious. I liked all the flavors that were tied together with this meal. The only criticism I would say is I wish the waffle fries were a little bit crispy but other than that, it was really good. Definitely would come back.

Yelp
Absolutely how I remember it! I haven't been to Bruxie in AGES and I'm so glad I had some time to kill before a hair appointment down the street. I got the blt ranch chicken waffle sandwich with tots and a Diet Coke. Perfection. Messy Perfection. Outdoor seating only but cute with flowers and patio umbrellas. The staff was as helpful as they could be, though a little pushy. I needed a minute to review the menu and I was asked 3 times if I was ready or needed help. I didn't, just needed time. Cute little lunch spot!

Yelp
My wife and I along with one of our sons were shopping at the South Coast Plaza and all came to the decision to try the Bruxie location here. We looked at the menu that offered so many mouthwatering choices with a large waffle being the vessel your choice of meat it would be resting on. The young lady who took our order was very pleasant, helpful and patient answering all of our menu questions. We settled on two Holy Chickens and our son ordered Jumbo tenders with seasoned fries. We all ordered soft drinks for our meal. In short time, our order was ready. Seating for this location is rather limited in scope, but luckily we were able to sang a table as someone else was leaving. Our two Holy Chicken sandwiches were decent in size for the price. The chicken was properly cooked and not dry, thankfully! The maple glazed bacon added another level of deliciousness coupled with the now popped egg yolk of the sunny side up egg smothering the entire sandwich. Too messy (in a good way) for my wife and and I to pick up and continue eating with our hands: using our knives and forks looked much more civilized in a public space. Our son wolfed down his double order of the chicken tenders and fries. He really like the tenders for being moist, reasonably coated and seasoned to his liking. we all tasted his fries and liked them, though they kinda reminded us of another fast for chain that specializes in chicken sandwiches and waffle fries too. We were all very satisfied with our selections and service. We will definitely be visiting the other Orange County Bruxie locations as well!!!

Yelp
Quick bite for lunch at the mall was not bad at all. Plenty of seating around the food stall. Chicken was crispy yet tender. I had the salad and it was surprisingly fresh with good portion. My husband also enjoyed his chicken waffle and was quite surprised. Ordering was easy and staff were friendly and nice. Had more of the strawberry lemonade drink to go, too sweet for me so i asked for more ice in it.
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
This Bruxie location is nice when you want a quick bite and don't have time to sit and dine at one of the neighboring restaurants. The food is good and the sitting area is nice. You can sit in the Bruxie seating or the other tables which are more spread out. The sweet with savory items are great. If you want to go for something healthier, the grilled chicken salad is good. (although the amount of chicken given varies greatly)
google avatar

Tanisha W.

Yelp
I got the chicken and waffle plate. I must say the waffle was super light and fluffy. I was kinda surprised that it was as tasty as it was. The chicken strip was very tender and juicy. Not my favorite seasonings though. I am not a big spice girl so it was a bit spicy to me. (Being mindful that some days black pepper is spicy to me) I pushed through runny nose and all. Lol ! I believe because it was so tender and juicy I didn't mind my mouth spicing up, what I didn't like was a couple of the end spots like in the crevice of the chicken the batter kinda clumped up (think of a ball) and those were very hard like when you hear a crunch in your mouth and you like was that bad? So I just peeled the extra clumps off and killed the rest of the chicken. Would I ever eat here again? Absolutely! Would I got 10-15 miles out of my way to visit one? Doubtful. As I'd probably explore other venues, but best believe if I'm near one and hangry. They are a top pick for me! Hope you all get out and test my theory!!
google avatar

Neen M.

Yelp
I love this area of South Coast. So many options and Bruxie is one of them. What I like in particular about Bruxie is it's by the front where there are ample seats and open airy windows. The food is very filling and imo portions pretty big. Food was hot and fresh and delicious.
google avatar

Jonathon Q.

Yelp
Overall a good chicken place. The chicken isn't dry or overcooked which is important to me. The sauces are interesting! Usually, I do not like super dill heavy ranch dips but theirs toes the line, hovering just under the "too much dill" line. Their Honey BBQ sauce is interesting - it has a flavor I felt was familiar but couldn't place my finger on it. It was something unique to a BBQ sauce - like they had poured maple syrup in it. Their staff were nice, helpful. Cracked a few smiles at my jokes too! This is located in Bloomingdales on the ground floor - there is an awkward space to form a line as it technically impedes traffic in and out of the store. I will be going back again to try the waffles!
google avatar

Sunnie M.

Yelp
Delicious chicken sandwiches! The custard is sooo good too! Join their app rewards for freebies!
google avatar

Yuhan S.

Yelp
this was so 6 7 finished this in 3 bites only complaint is that it should be bigger bc im big and black
google avatar

Ana M.

Yelp
Spicy chicken is my weakness! I love this chicken and I know its not healthy. I wish they could find away to make this less oily. This location has great sitting area and its walking distance from Orange Circle so you can enjoy a walk around after your meal. If you wanna have less carb get the Tender option. It is as satisfying as the sandwich or waffle.

diana t.

Yelp
Great service. Good food. Nice seating and convenient location. Attentive staff. Clean

Yelp
I love coming here when I have a chicken and waffle craving employees are kind and attentive Food is delicious And the atmosphere is really nice

Yelp
First time trying this location! Classic chicken and waffles are always a good choice Edit: okayyy real review lol. First sentence was so I can get my free fries for da yelp review. Waffles are like heaven sent. The waffle is so soft and crispy and like eating a cloud. Omg I love waffles, especially bruxies waffles. I've been to the orange location, but this is my first time at the south coast location. I swear the chicken used to be actual chicken with bones, or at least bigger chickenflation? prices increased as well since the last time I went. Fries were kinda stale, lol still ate them tho. We went 1 hour before closing and the dine in tables were closed? So we had to do to go but there's other seating options provided by the mall so it was fine. Idk if this is the same as the orange location but I feel like the orange location is a bit better (at least how I remember it).

Yelp
Bruxie's, please come to the San Francisco Bay Area. I don't know how to describe how good Bruxie's is. It's simple, no frills chicken and waffle sandwiches done well. Come for that. The service and ambiance don't matter. Alright let's try to describe it anyway. This sandwich...crispy and juicy chicken (even though it's breast!), crisp slaw with a little acidity, sweetness with a kick from the chili honey, and of course, a waffle to tie it together. If this were served in any restaurant with a tablecloth, it'd be an easy $25, and deservedly so. Order the Original if you want to experience the icon. Order the nashville hot if you're feeling adventurous. Skip the frozen custard, it pretty much tastes like sugar and milk. And again, please come to the San Francisco Bay Area. I need this sandwich more than once every few years!
google avatar

Cony L.

Yelp
Their chicken tenders are bomb. Yes it's a mall food but the chicken tenders were so much better than any chicken places I have been to. Super flavorful and tender were goods. I tried their buttermilk salad it was pretty good too. Service was good and a good place to quick bites with kids. Will def come back
google avatar

David E.

Yelp
Bruxie sandies are above average in general. I have not been to one in ages because so many of them closed. Today I only had room temperature takeout WAFFLE FRIES. The potato flavor is very good and the texture on the exterior is firm with a soft interior. They are lightly salted. In general I am not a waffle fries guy but these are really good and it makes me want to try them hot along with a waffle sandie.
google avatar

Czarina D.

Yelp
A solid place for waffle and waffle sandwiches! First off, bruxies execution of waffles is near perfect! Their waffles are perfectly crispy while being fluffy on the inside, just sweet enough, airy, and light. A truly delicious waffle! Their waffle sandwiches are delicious! I ordered the Holy Chicken and added avocado. I LOVED the contrast of the salty and sweet flavors. The chicken was fried well and had good flavor. It was perfectly crunchy and not dry! The sriracha aioli was tasty as well and the egg was cooked perfectly. Everything together was delicious and all the flavors worked! Warning, it is on the heavier side. BUT DELICIOUS NONE THE LESS! In the future, I'd get another sandwich. And probably just some plain waffles on the side cuz they're so good!
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
Food is good, for sure. The fried chicken sandwiches are always our favorites and I really love the turkey club. I can pass on the loaded fries next time. The sauce was a little overwhelming. The regular fries are better. And although the food is good, it's really hard to go too often because it's really pricey for fast food. Food service was pretty quick, but there was no one in line when we went.
google avatar

Rick S.

Yelp
I loved the waffle and liked the chicken. The one concern I have or had was with their Fries. Sure, it was the criss cross cut waffle fries, and with a Instagram Follow or Yelp Check In, the current promotion has them given to customers for FREE... BUT... If you see the price of $4.50 and see the size (you can count maybe a dozen or less fries, it make me cringe if I ever were to actually pay for such a cheap lackluster serving size, it's so mediocre now seeing it, I'd never ever pay for fries. It's a good FREE snack if that's their marketing plan to get social media engagement in exchange for a sampler sized serving of fries. The location is nice, indoors with seating at Bloomingdales @ South Coast Plaza. The service was fast and friendly. The waffle itself was the Belgian styled thick and fuffy whole round waffle and it was airy not dense nor doughy, so cooked crisp, not burnt, to perfection with butter and syrup available. The chicken itself had a little spice to it but overall was good.
google avatar

Cindy N.

Yelp
i lovee sweet and savory things and bruxie combines the best of both worlds with their chicken and waffles! the waffle was not as thick as I thought it would be, more on the thinner side, but it was slightly sweet and really crispy! I liked how even in sandwich form with all the sauces and toppings it didn't get soggy! holy chicken sandwich: maple glazed chicken with a sunny side up egg, literally the perfect breakfast sandwich!! kickin nashville hot sandwich: definitely was SPICYY, but very flavorful, and the chicken was juicy!! portion was veryy filling btw!! service was good and I say this is a good option for a quick bite among the options in the food hall!
google avatar

Ivy C.

Yelp
I'm from the Bay Area and we have no chicken sandwich places like Bruxie. I happen to order the Holy sandwich after the worker recommended that to me and I was not disappointed at all! The Holy included a Maple glazed chicken which to be honest, was not a bad combination at all. I happen to think it would be too sweet for my liking but having the other things like the cheddar and bacon contrasts to the sweetness of the meal. I happened to remove a star mainly because I thought my egg was still alittle bit raw on top, despite it being a sunny side up egg. Will definitely be coming back if I am ever in the area! Would love to try other sandwiches too. The other chicken sandwich included in the photos would be the original (which wasn't my order, but my boyfriend's), which I am sure it being delicious as well.

Yelp
This specific spot made me walk all over South Coast So let me help you out by telling you that it is located inside Bloomingdale's! I have not been here in a good minute because Ive been oh so poor, but I was craving the Bruxie classics, I live in Irvine and they closed the culver location so we made our way to Costa Mesa, it is inside the food court at Bloomies I had the original and an eggnog shake, it was worth the miles walked and I guess it's good that I did that because that was a MEAL Great customer service, good food and a fun time was had
google avatar

Patricia C.

Yelp
Soooo glad they opened up so close to where we stay whenever we visit OC :) You'll find them at the Collage food hall where Bloomingdale's is (it's right near the entrance and next to paradise dynasty). There's plenty of seating within their space and also next to it. They'll bring the food to you when it's ready. We tried the Bruxie waffle with Nutella and banana and ohhhh mannnn it's so good!!! I didn't expect the waffle to taste so light and airy and crispy on the edges. It didn't feel heavy at all, would totally order again. It also wasn't too sweet, which I really appreciate. We also got some chicken tenders on the side. Yummmmm. Next time, will def need to try one of their savory waffles (the original or maybe one of those breakfast options... looks so good). In case you want some healthier options, there are also some salads :) Would definitely come back!

Dotty S.

Yelp
Food: Amazing 10/10, I got the original chicken and waffle and the chicken was seasoned to the nines and was crunchy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. The waffle was crispy but not crunchy enough to hurt when you take a bite. The slaw was mild but balanced the sauce perfectly. The lavender vanilla coffee was so tasty, it was sweet but not overly and the coffee was strong but balanced out once mixed. Service: Z!! Thank you so much for the help! Fast service and wonderful attitude. Thank you for the sandwich, it was a birthday miracle Ambiance: Very cute! I love the walk up style and the amount of seating available. The halloween decorations were soooo cute and the workers were so friendly. Will definitely be coming back again with friends and family. PS: the hand sanitizer is so good??? IDK what they use but it cleared away all the stickiness

Yelp
What can you say about Bruxie? They are the OG of Instagram-able food having popularized the waffle sandwich years ago. But unlike other food trends that come and go, this one actually tastes good and has gotten even better with time. They have a few locations in OC. This one is located at the Collage Culinary Experience food hall at South Coast Plaza on the Bloomingdale's side. It's located on the ground floor right next to Paradise Dynasty. Just look for the giant fried chicken sign. You can't miss it. Their standard waffles are delicious. Perfectly crispy, airy, and not too sweet. I wish they sold the mix to make at home. The breakfast waffle sandwiches are my go to order no matter what time of day. The "Holy Chicken" is my favorite. Juicy fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, siracha mayo, and a sunny-side up egg on their signature waffle. The country sausage is a close second but I order mine with a sunny-side up egg instead of the standard over hard egg. For dessert, the crème brûlée is tops followed by the lemon cream and berries. Yum.

Yelp
Excellent location! Located at the south Coast Plaza, I love that they are open early. Service was wonderful, so friendly and fast. I love their chicken sandwich as well as the tenders. The custard and coffee was delicious too. I really enjoyed their salad, portions are large and filling. Prices are fair and the quality is great. They have a good variety of sauces, the honey mustard was my favorite. Excellent option for affordable dining, very family friendly as well!

Yelp
This is a new addition to SCP Bloomingdales Collage group so they are not as busy as their next door neighbor, Paradise Dynasty. We were impressed with the quality of their foods though. Fresh and delicious. At first, we were a bit worried that it would be a heavy meal, between the waffle, fried chicken, and all the fries, etc., so we thought we should order something a bit healthier. My husband had their Roasted Turkey Club waffle sandwich and I had the grilled chicken salad. We were totally surprised how good the food was, after first few bites. Waffle is fluffy and very light and so perfectly made. Everything in my salad was fresh and delicious, from the roasted crimini mushrooms, to the arugula, sun-dried tomato, and the well seasoned and tender pieces of chicken. 5-star all the way around. Yes! We enjoyed our meal and were very satisfied. A bit pricey but what do you expect, it's South Coast Plaza, right? I'm sure their rent isn't cheap there either.

Yelp
Chicken was juicy and sweet because of the honey. Went really well with the waffle and cole slaw. Waffle felt like it was freshly made and crispy. Overall I enjoyed my meal would probably go again.

Yelp
I love the combination of the spicy chicken with taste of the waffle. This location is located inside a food court. Cashier was very helpful on helping me decide what to order.

Yelp
Great new small location at SCP. Ordering was great. Seating limited (upstairs) with more downstairs. Workers were great. Food brought out quick; they asked if we needed refills, questions answered, not much more you can ask for. This is what kept it at 3 stars. Bruxies just isn't the same anymore. The chain's general direction to chicken and waffles being their main focus is a miss for me. Bring back the Smoked Salmon. Friend's original was rather bland. Tastes of nothing but Honey. My breakfast (Bacon, Egg, Cheese) was also rather plain. On top of that, our waffles were soggy, which is not indicative of the Bruxies I remember. Tots and fries were hot and crispy, which honestly saved our lunch. I'd like to give it another chance, because the pastrami looked promising. Will also give the Habanero chicken tender a go, as it also sounds promising. $45 for two combos is also a little steep. I guess it follows trend of being attached to SCP/Bloomingdales. I would give it a try if you've never been, but it's not something I'm currently craving on a random day

Yelp
Bruxie has been one of my favorite restaurants for a long time. I was so sad when the Irvine location closed several years ago but elated to find this new location at South Coast Plaza! It sits at the end of the mall at Bloomingdale's together with a bunch of other cool restaurants and shops. Bruxie's Holy Chicken is by far the best chicken and waffle meal I've ever had and is my big go-to here. The crispy texture and strong flavor in the chicken pair very well with the fluffy and crispy waffle and delicious honey and spicy mayo sauce. The egg on top is always cooked to perfection and the yolk oozes out as you eat it. Their waffle fries are deliciously crispy and fresh. Absolutely delicious and a high recommendation for any and all to try!!
