Bryant Park is a 9.6-acre public park located in the New York City borough of Manhattan. Privately managed, it is located between Fifth Avenue and Avenue of the Americas and between 40th and 42nd Streets in Midtown Manhattan

Always a great time at Bryant park. In the winter, there is ice skating. During nice days, there are different musical entertainment. They also request frequently host food markets/shops and other ad hoc events such as one done by MAC two weekends ago! Good place to have a picnic, walk or people watch!

One of the best parks in the New York City. Don’t miss it! They do different activities during the year and they are amazing. You can play mini golf and other games and the environment is such amazing. In summer there are movie nights. 10/10.

Great park near our hotel. Was so huge! Got to see a doggie birthday party, have dessert waffles from Wafels and Dinges and got to meet some eccentric locals; some asking for money and some giving expert advice. Enjoyed our leisurely stroll through this park.

Casual hang out, lots of people at nighttime, safe, Whole Foods is across the road, a lot of people seem to buy from WF & eat here, views of Empire & Chrysler are spectacular at night.

The Christmas village and skating rink are a must see although not necessarily a must do. The rink has been getting busier every year and the lines longer.

Yelp
Bryant Park is a winter wonderland in December and its a must visit during the holiday season. We walked through and checked out all the different vendors and small shops. It was a madhouse and very busy. The lines for food were outrageously long and we didn't bother waiting. We had a good time walking around and we all bought some small souvenirs. The ice skating rink was also really busy and there was a line for that. Overall definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
Came here to find some quick dinner. We ended up getting the Mama's Chicken Sandwich. The park was nice. It was cool to see how many little shops and food spots in one area. They also have an ice skating ring currently for the season. Not sure how long the seasonal things will be here for but come quick and try them out! Get your hot cocoa, your ice skating, and Cozy Igloos on.

Yelp
Honestly, the biggest gripes are that it's too small, and there's always way too many people. It ends up being less cosy, more busy. Sure it's a good location / outdoor space to host events in theory, but again, it's just too small relative to the amount of traffic it'll get.
google avatar

Yelp
Walked by the other day and saw these bumper cars on ice that looked pretty cool, it's mostly just spinning though and not a lot of space to move around. Nice park in the area :) love stopping by to check out the holiday shops from time to time.

Yelp
Bryant Park is fantastic and it's in a great location right next to the main branch of the NY Public Library. The holiday market here around Christmas is great as well as has numerous vendors with interesting wares, some of which are local (we snagged some honey from Queens, which was neat). It's a nice park overall!

Yelp
Bryant Park located in Midtown behind Manhattan Public Library. This park also has outdoor dining, indoor dining plus great place for happy hour. I have been here many times over the years to attend private events, enjoying happy hour after work. Happy hour here is always fun place and very busy with the after work crowd. During the summer, they offer movie nights where you can just sit on the lawn and watch a movie on a large screen or just sitting around enjoying the park. This park has always been very well manicured, maintained and is a great gem of a park for all to enjoy. During the fall, and winter this place transforms into a fun Winter Village with so many different shops, curling café and bar, Lodge that includes live events plus ice skating, bumper cars on ice plus so much more. You can even rent an igloo ($$$$) for you and your friends to enjoy drinking and eating. Some of their activities have to be reserved online ahead of time. There are so many unique shops and I am always there for the unique food. I love going there to enjoy the shops but my main agenda when I come here is really the food so many venders to select from. Bryant Park is just one of Manhattan's gem that everyone should visit at least once. There is always different activities depending on the season plus different activities available for every one of all ages.

Yelp
Bryant Park is like a little oasis in the middle of Manhattan's craziness. It's small compared to Central Park, but feels cozier and more charming. There are plenty of tables and chairs scattered around, so it's a great spot to grab a coffee, relax, or even get some work done on your laptop. The lawns are perfect for a picnic or just lying in the sun when the weather's nice. In the winter, the park transforms into a magical wonderland with an ice skating rink and holiday market. The carousel is adorable and adds a whimsical touch, especially if you're visiting with kids. The park always feels lively but not overwhelming. It's also surrounded by food options if you're feeling hungry. You're right next to the New York Public Library, which is a bonus for book lovers. Honestly, Bryant Park is the perfect mix of nature, fun, and city vibes.

Yelp
I visited the Bryant Park Christmas Market with my parents on the Monday before Christmas, and it was a truly magical experience! The park was transformed into a beautiful, cozy winter wonderland. While it was understandably crowded, the festive atmosphere and lively energy made it feel like a quintessential New York City experience. The quality of the food and art vendors was impressive, offering a wide range of unique and delicious options. It was a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a classic NYC Christmas experience.

Yelp
We stopped here on the way to the Empire State Building. It's a block away from the Empire State Building. This park is much smaller in comparison to Central Park. Bryant park has a cute fountain, a waffle place, and so much more! There's little places to shop if you want. It's a nice place to walk and hangout.

Yelp
Among our personal favorites is Bryant Park, one of the city's oldest, largest, and most beloved green spaces. Every time, I am in this area (between 33rd & Times Square), I always visit this place and relax for some time. It is a green oasis in the middle of Manhattan's hustle and bustle that enjoys great popularity among locals and visitors. Bryant Park was a seedy area known for crime and a hangout for the undesirables until 1989 when the city reclaimed it and turned it into a beautiful urban oasis. Locals have embraced this park, and today, it's a pleasure to walk through . The grounds feature monuments and gardens, and "Le Carrousel," a popular carousel. A games area makes available chess boards, checkers, and backgammon boards for a small fee. In the summer, this park is live, it has a daily lineup of free activities, concerts, especially Movie nights. The outdoor movie series at Bryant Park is a cherished summer-in-NYC tradition. Presented by Paramount +, the schedule always promises a crowd-pleasing mix of films from different eras and genres. Tip: the lawn opens at 5 p.m. to claim your viewing spot.

Yelp
I discovered this park through a friend of mine. Absolutely stunning market at Christmas time. Perfect for family, friends, & loves. Lined with a beautiful city landscape, an ice skating rink, a fountain, and christmas decor all over. There is a bit of soenthong for everyone. They have your Christmas favorites from cocoa to gourmet styled food. There are also so many picture taking opportunities as well. I'd definitely say to bundle up though because the winter can be so cold. Make sure to bring layers & a jacket with a hood. Please don't forget your gloves. I would recommend coming st a reasonable time because Christmas in the city can be a bit congested. Lines are to be expected & some items can be pricey. I would recommend having a meal before entering the park and having the occasional snack if you plan activities. Also, take advantage of the public transportation systems & walking- if you are a tourist this will help you save your expenses for activities you want to try. Each stop isn't too far away so there isn't much of a wait :) this is definitely one of the most underrated areas that I would highly recommed!

Yelp
As I was just there I will make this a quick one for the season. So it's now The Christmas Season in New York City and truth be told there is nothing quite like it. It's around this time that I begin adventuring around the Big Apple to document the holiday trees and overall vibe. One of the places that I like to visit is Bryant Park. They are known for having a beautiful tree which is a great photo op and for the last few years they have even set up a small Winter Village with dozens of shops that sell far too many things to line out in this quick summary. I will say that I've seen chocolates, beverages, trinkets of all kinds and even winter wear like hats and gloves. In addition to the market, you can sit down at either the Bryant Park Cafe or the Bryant Park Grill with the latter one seeming to be a tad pricier to indulge in. Hey it's the holidays so indulge yourself a little. There is also a massive ice-skating ring to enjoy and if my research is correct this is free if you bring your own skates or $15-$50 to rent skates. I don't know if there is a time limit but I guess there might be if there is a tremendous crowd waiting to enjoy this part of the park. I have not skated since I owned the skates with double blades on them as a child. For me, its a whole lot of falling down. It does look like fun though and this part of the park remains open until March. There are also plenty of chairs and tables for you to sit at if you feel like indulging in something that you brought from somewhere else but do be a good citizen and properly dispose of any rubbish since there is no need to be a slob. If you make it to the park during the holidays I say enjoy yourself and don't forget to pop into the New York Public Library which is right behind it because that is a wonderful experience of its own.
google avatar

Sam H.

Yelp
One of my fav places during Christmas time! The markets, the ice rink the FOOD! Is it a little cold, absolutely but the atmosphere is something you at least have to try once while you're in the city. I will make a mission to come back every December.
google avatar

Alan B.

Yelp
This is a beautiful small park to visit, with great open seating. They change it up seasonally, it is especially nice during the holidays. Weather permitting, they offer entertainment, kids activities, yoga, poetry, trivia contests, movie nights and much more. The Bryant Park Grill has a great patio for dining (and is beautiful inside too), and I should mention "Le Carrousel" which delights young children at the rate of $4 per ride (10 rides for $30). Size wise, it's a modest park, especially when compared to Central Park, though we always stop by Bryant Park when in the city.
google avatar

Taylee M.

Yelp
Good ol' Bryant park... I worked next door for three years on 40th and 6th, spending so many lunches and work breaks while enjoying the grass, views of Empire state, Christmas markets, outdoor movies, and tearful phone calls. I can honestly say that Bryant park was one of the deciding factors for me to move to NYC and it's good in any season. It is absolutely jam packed during the holidays for the market, but that's understandable since it's the biggest and best one in the city.
google avatar

Phil H.

Yelp
The holiday market is already open as of a week ago. Open until Jan 5. Walked around it the other day and it was plenty crowded. Get a hot chocolate and meander the shops. Nothing is cheap so be aware.
google avatar

Janice K.

Yelp
Even though I was here before Halloween in October, they already had Bryant Park set up like a Christmas village. They had small booths where people were selling food or souvenir type items. There is plenty of seating and it's a large outside area. Saturday around lunchtime, there was a farmers market type thing set up in the street on 6th Avenue. They had so much food. Everything smelled so good.
google avatar

Alaleh P.

Yelp
Small park in the middle of the city. It's definitely a plus. Very good to do your morning exercise, run, walk or sit down and enjoy the view. They also hold many events here. There's a café at the front end with many tables available to sut down and enjoy some sweets and snacks.

Yelp
Let me tell YOU dear reader, this gem is the bees knees for residents and tourists alike! Can't believe I haven't given a review to my FAVE NYc (Manhattan) park. It is worth the commute to this gorgeous landmark situated right behind the NYPL. Here's a sample of the season-contingent daily activities and semi -regular shenanigans (Ice skating, bumper cars or ice, igloos, holiday markets, bingo, musical chairs, opera, dance performances, etc.) for kids of all ages. There's a carousel, a Pétanque court, ping pong tables, a children's library, an adult library, food and beverage kiosks, an art cart, yoga on the lawn (I could write a song about the beauty of being on the lawn), beekeeping, tai chi... I could go on and oooooooonnnnnn. Be clear... MOST of it is free and open to the public and listed typically at least a week in advance on their web page. As a native NYer, this ranks higher than Central Park. Pro tip: If you can't make it to an event, you can often watch livestream it on their webcam's site and/or on IG. Nearby: New York Public Library, TKTS, Le Botaniste
google avatar

Kristy R.

Yelp
We love visiting Bryant Park either for the holiday markets (very crowded but lots of cute vendors for Christmas gifts) or during the summer when they have different events taking place (yoga, musical chairs, etc.). It's centrally located and has so much to offer. Close to the subway, as well!
google avatar

Shawnie J.

Yelp
Nice park to take a stroll, and there was swap meet set up to purchase a variety of items from food to perfume. So many restaurants near as well as the views of the busy city.
google avatar

Lorraine B.

Yelp
Great way to get in the mood for the holidays and shop the local artists creative from sustainable jewelry, photos of 1970s old New York subways, candles. Spices and hot sauces and all the treats you desire. Great bar food area over looking the ice skating rink .
google avatar

Ricarta C.

Yelp
The holiday market in Bryant park is so magical. So much to do from ice skating, eating in a igloo, grabbing hot cocoa or a sweet treat from the local vendors to Christmas shopping from the cute small businesses around the park. It's magical here during the holidays
google avatar

Shauna S.

Yelp
I stayed at the Luma Hotel nearby with ten friends for a week. Great location. We got crepes at a food stall, bought jewelry from another booth, took photos of the huge Christmas tree, walked through the park on the way to shopping, the library and subway, etc. There are many restaurants and bakeries close too.
google avatar

Yelp
This review is for the Bryant Park Christmas market, since I couldn't find the vendors separately. We went on a Saturday the last day in November at about 3ish and holy hell was it packed shoulder to shoulder. We did say if we ever went back we would try going when they 1st open if we get to the city at that time. However, we still tried to walk around and go in the shops mind you each shop probably fits 3 maybe 4 people. We started off at the hot sauce stand got a sauce for my brother for Christmas. We then went over to stand right by it selling baked goods i didn't get the name we got a browine and chocolate chip cookie I did not like the cookie was not worth $7. We then decided to try some food as my fiance is a huge sweets person we stumbled upon Whoopie at $12 a piece which i thought was crazy!! I understand we are in the city, but that was a little overkill, needless to say, we did still get two. We got the dulce de whoopie and the milk chocolate. I had the dulce and as it was amazing $12 was still steep. We then wanted some hot chocolate and found winter pie shop tried a vegan hot chocolate for $7. Again i would have loved to try a pie, but they were pricey. The hot chocolate wasn't bad but wasn't amazing. All in all unsure if I would return if I did it would be when they 1st open in the AM.

Yelp
Bryant Park is located in the Midtown area and has seasonal gardens, various eateries and bars, and even an ice skating rink. There are various events throughout the year, hosted at the park - I have been multiple times to check out the Winter Village. There are plenty of tables with chairs to enjoy your treats; some pathways can be a bit narrow due to the number of patrons, and the park can be pretty packed. Easily accessible via the MTA. +check out their calendar for events +easily accessible via the MTA
google avatar

Joyce G.

Yelp
Stopped to sit and rest after all the walking we were doing that day. Noticed there were several small tables and we were lucky to nab one of them. It was quite busy. Noticed all the little eateries. We came back another day to purchase a pastry that my daughter was dying to try. Lucky to find a seat that day as well. Not to far from our hotel and not to far from Times Square. The park looks nice and inviting. I would definitely come back.
google avatar

Yelp
We went during the Christmas festival they have each year and during ST Patricks day weekend. The festival is so much fun and a great family activity for all ages. They offer a variety of foods and even have bar section if your looking for some spirits to keep you warm. There was plenty of small booths with items to look at and some unique souvenirs. During the spring the park is just as lively. Plenty of tables and seating scatted through out the park.

Yelp
Heart of NY and a must visit place during summer season. In winters , it's not a park , and is more like a commercial place :) lots of shops , eateries and of course the winter ski area in the center of the park . I like it in summer . Green and love to take a walk here . Very close to Times Square, NY library and other places in NY . Restrooms available and is generally crowded ! Expensive food and other things around . There is a train station near . Overall a very good place . Paid parkings around .

Letty C.

Yelp
So as a New Yorker I'm deeply conflicted about this review. Bryant Park is an integral part of NYC but this gives me an opportunity to review it for the winter wonderland it is....full of bumps, slides, and spins including bumper cars on ice, heated igloos, or ice skating. You choose! The igloos are affordable, available for 90 minutes, and group rental packages are available. Bumper cars on ice...super affordable...ice skating? Classic...you can bring your own skates. Street parking is super shady, the signs are confusing. I seriously wouldn't drive here...just take the MTA train....Takes you right into the park's winter wonderland. I love it here! You get a winter experience right here in the five boroughs. Take lots of pics.
google avatar

Paula L.

Yelp
Bryant park was beautiful! But if you're going for the christmas market, think again! It was extremely overcrowded, i'm talking standing still mob. I went to try a bunch of food and every vendor had an hour wait to order. It was a huge disappointment. Anyone with claustrophobia would have had a terrible time at Bryant park in December.
google avatar

Mari H.

Yelp
Honestly, I had never heard of Bryant Park until I started looking for places that would be decked out for Christmas while in New York. Sad, but that is how NYC is, always discovering new things. When looking at it's location I was surprised to learn that it is right in front of the New York Public Library, a destination all in itself. We got to the park late, around 10:30pm, which still had a lot of people but probably not as bad as it is earlier in the day. The only thing with that was that the surrounding pop up buinesses were closing up soon for the night, but I did get the one thing I wanted the most. A delicious cup of Belgium Hot Chocolate! Walking around, watching people ice skate or try to anyway, and just enjoying the beautiful tree on a chilly night really was perfect. Surrounding the ice skating rink were the food shops, a two story event space, plenty of seating, shops, and igloos that normally would have been available to rent, but it was late. Igloos are fun anywhere you go, honestly, and we would do them over and over again. Breweries are the best though! Visiting Bryant Park was a great end to a busy day in the city to just sit and relax, taking in all the sites and holiday cheer!
google avatar

Veronika B.

Yelp
Bryant Park albeit not very big has plenty to offer every single season. All though it might seem busy at times every time I have returned here I always find a place to sit and relax . Surrounded by massive trees, and plenty of coffee shops the park is located just steps away from Times Square. This park offers a nice moment of solace from the busy Manhattan streets. During the winter, there is a spectacular Winter Village which is perfect for ice skating, dining and holiday shopping... something for everyone! I'll keep coming back and passing though whenever I am near by.
google avatar

Alvin A.

Yelp
It's Christmas Day, me and my friends went over to Winter Village to check out the Christmas tree, ice skating rink, and grab some hot chocolate. Beautiful city park located in Mid-Manhattan. Did you know that Bryant Park is one of the world's busiest public parks in the entire world? Visited by over 12 million people a year, located between 5th & 6th Avenues and 40th & 42nd Streets right in the heart of Midtown NYC. Almost 10 acres in size, easily accessible to The MTA, by car, or by foot. Most people may come on weekends for family fun, I've only been here during the winter time as it's very festive during Christmas time. There were many holiday shops, food halls, The Lodge, Ice Skating Rink, and surprisingly public restrooms facilities! Whenever you're in NYC during the holidays or anytime of the year, head down to Bryant Park!
google avatar

Isao S.

Yelp
Bryant Park is my favorite place in New York City. Probably it is the most relaxing place for me. The reason is as follows. First of all, there is New York Public Library right next. When I lived in New York, on weekends I sometimes visited the public library, and read so many books that interested me, "The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde" and "Ulysses by James Joyce" etc. While I immersed in the story, I was able to travel to different regions and to all parts of the world. It was a time when my imagination could gain freedom. After the time of my free imagination, I left the public library and went to Bryant Park in order to drink a cup of coffee in Bryant Park Cafe. This cafe has open space, and I sit down the chair outside and ordered a black coffee. In winter season, I drank it while it was steaming. When I looked around there, there were opened a various shops and Christmas market and ice rink. And then, I profoundly felt comfortable and peaceful. I strongly recommend this place. I think that Bryant Park is the most relaxing spot in New York City.
google avatar

Joanna S.

Yelp
I remember when Bryant Park was a dozen small shops and nothing more. While I yearn for that simplicity and lack of crowds, I still return every year I can.
google avatar

Pam F.

Yelp
My bucket list was to go to Rockefeller center and see the tree and ice skaters but o was short on time and didn't want to get in yet another hour long cab ride to go two miles so I walked to Bryant Park and was pleasantly surprised. Busy but not over the top. Plenty of space to move and see all the adorable unique shops. Long lines for cocoa and coffee but understandable since it was about 30 degrees out. Loved the music and ambiance. Felt so festive and people really seemed to be enjoying themselves. Highly recommend this at Christmas time. Very nice and an easy walk from Times Square
google avatar

Debbie F.

Yelp
Even though I think I was here on one of the busiest nights of the year, it still left my heart with the wonderment of Christmas. The bustling of people in their winter attire and the chill in the air added the merriment to the Bank of America Winter Village christmas market which offers a ice skating rink, festive food and pop ups like cozy igloos you can rent that hold 8 and you cant miss the The Lodge with a rinkside open air place to enjoy festive cocktails and fun while you watch the ice skaters, huge christmas tree view and or the games on the big screen. Each vendor offers a unique item like the whoopsi macaroons. The biggest filling makes them the best I've tried and grilled cheese sandwiches in colors. The whole village is well set up and is a must to add to your bucket list. I must do this again..
google avatar

Eva G.

Yelp
It was nice to stroll around New York and then stop here, enjoy my coffee and relax. I wasn't the only one that had that in mind. I opted to stay in the shaded seats while others soaked up the sun. It was a beautiful day and the view was gorgeous.
google avatar

Leesa T.

Yelp
Bryant Park turns into a holiday village with vendors and shops in November and December. You'll find local arts, crafts, cuisine, and more. If you're looking for that special holiday gift-- look no further! I found a fun stocking stuffer while sipping on hot cocoa. If you're not in the holiday mood after Thanksgiving, take a stroll through Bryant Park and the holiday cheer will creep in. Jingle Bells will be on repeat in your mind for weeks to come. Around the corner, you'll find an ice rink too! If you aren't up for skating or shopping, there's always the perfect holiday snack waiting for you! Check it out!
google avatar

Winny L.

Yelp
It's that time of year for the Bryant Park Winter Village - check out the shops for some holiday gifts and food/treats. There's also ice skating, curling, heated igloos and more... Holiday tree is up and will be light up soon. Not much in the park during the non-holiday season. There are movies showing during the summer and one can take a stroll through the park. Restaurant /bar and a couple of shops otherwise that are normally there year round.
google avatar

Danielle P.

Yelp
I love this park, but only when nothing is happening here. Social media has totally ruined this place during the winter months -- you can't set foot anywhere near the winter village without having to bob and weave through crowds and brave insanely long lines just to overpay for a mediocre hot chocolate. All that said, when nothing's going on this park is perfect to sit and enjoy the nice weather and people watch. There are a few food spots located here, and I've been to some bar pop ups in the past. Free movie night, though it does get crowded, is also really fun here, but make sure you come early to get a good spot. There's also a ton of decently priced takeaway food spots near this park, so it makes for a good place to stop and enjoy lunch if you're in the area. While you're here, pay the library a visit -- it's truly something to marvel at.
google avatar

Nicole E.

Yelp
On our walk to the MTA stop near 8th and 42nd street brought us by the park vicinity. There's the holiday Christmas village. It's much bigger than we both thought. We will have to take another day to walk through and see more of the market offering. Lots of random gift ideas. Most of the kiosks and food offerings are around the village park rink. It's nice for a stroll and look-see. The market reminds me of the different Platz Weihnachtsmarkt around Koeln in Germany.
google avatar

Racquelle P.

Yelp
My family and I visited for the Winter Village and it was a great time. I loved the fact that it was free but also enjoyed the many different shops you could purchase items. The food offerings were great and offered a variety. We tried the stroopwafels, ice cream in the lodge and drinks from the bar (can't remember the name but it had Aperol). Ice skating is available and costs $36 with skates rental. You must book a time slot though ahead of time. Overall a great time and a fun family outing!

Yelp
Broadway in the park (Disney) Plenty of seats Great sound Great performances And it was all free

Yelp
Beautiful park especially during the winter festival. Conveniently located near Herald square. The ice rink is quite impressive.

Yelp
Great spot to come enjoy the park and seasonal attractions. During Christmas through New Years they have tons of shops and ice skating as well as the decorated tree!

Yelp
One of the very few parks in Manhattan, and probably the second most famous (after Central Park of course). Bryant Park has fun activities during each season. During the summer, it's Yoga lessons. At other times, it's free concerts, plays or even movies on the lawn. During the winter, they have the famous Holiday Outdoor Markets which have adorable stalls by small businesses and an ice skating rink in the middle. It's well located next to Grand Central and Times Square. During the summers, the lawn becomes a playing ground for people as they sunbathe, picnic, toss frisbees, etc. One of my favorite activities is lying down on the grass and looking up at the high rises that surround you. It's well maintained and cleaned by the department of parks and recreation. There is a nearby public toilet but that's not as cleanly maintained. It's also right next to the gigantic NYC Public Library guarded by lion statues.
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
This park is attached to the NYC Library Stephen A. Schwarzman Building. I arrived to the library before it was open, so I grabbed a seat in one of the public tables and enjoyed reading a book and taking in the walkers and looking at the birds and the lovely flowers. This is a free park that is just lovely to sit and take in the fresh air and the surrounding areas before the city opens up.
