"Early risers don’t exactly suffer from a lack of available breakfast options in Memphis. There are plenty of places for the usual array of omelets, bacon, and pancakes. But most daytime spots haven’t garnered laudatory coverage in a raff of national outlets. Bryant’s is among the best breakfast spots in the city, with a line spilling outside of the building to prove it (don’t worry, it generally moves quickly). If it’s your first visit, go for the sampler: three eggs any style, served with bacon, sausage, country ham, and pork tenderloin, plus two house-made biscuits with country gravy, a potato pattie, and grits." - Andy Meek, Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

My daughter and I had breakfast here, and it was delicious! The food tasted just like a wonderful home cooked meal. I absolutely loved their pancakes, eggs, and sausage; everything tasted fresh and not unhealthy at all. My only wish is that we could have a seat and have our orders taken at the table. Instead, you go in, place your order, grab a number, and then take a seat. Overall, it was a great dining experience!

Google
The eggs were not done all the way and cooked through because it was more juicy than done, ham was too salty, sausage was very dry, the pork tenderloin was bland and no seasoning of any kind. Other than they service was very fast and great but there food is a big no for me.

Cailyn Starks

Google
Was nice, similar to Waffle House. Food was good, service was great and very accommodating. Would go again to support small local businesses.

Alright, listen up, y’all! Bryant’s Biscuits in Memphis ain’t just breakfast – it’s a whole vibe. You roll up in there, and it’s like your grandma herself is in the kitchen, throwin’ down with love and butter. The biscuits? Big as a catfish platter and so soft they’d make a cloud jealous. And don’t even get me started on that sausage gravy – thick, peppery, and pure magic. Now, don’t be actin’ brand new – you better get there early, ‘cause once they sell out, it’s game over. Folks in Memphis know Bryant’s is the truth, and ain’t no shame in sittin’ in line for a plate that’ll hit your soul. Real talk, if you ain’t had Bryant’s, are you even livin’?

Google
I looked for a restaurant in Memphis to take my husband for Father’s Day. I read your reviews and decided we’d try it. The staff were very cordial and helpful, we found a table right away and the food didn’t take long at all. We both had omelets. My vegetarian one was so yummy, full of peppers, onions and mushrooms. The biscuits were soft and flaky. We both had enough food for breakfast the next day. We are just traveling through the area and were so lucky to find your restaurant. Thanks for a great Father’s Day breakfast!!!

Google
This place was busy, but I have no idea why. I had the biscuits and gravy, and it came with 4 biscuits on the plate (not split) and a huge bowl of "gravy". It tasted like it was just milk and flour. There is no sausage in it all. No seasoning whatsoever. It took a ton of salt and pepper to even make it edible. Without a doubt, the worst breakfast I've ever paid for.

Google
There was a really sweet Hispanic lady coming up to our serving us perfectly! The pork tenderloin was tough at parts and bland, and the grits too. But the biscuits, the eggs, the gravy, bacon, country ham, and chicken were delicious. Eggs cooked perfectly.

Scot Simmons

Google
This was an ok breakfast spot. The staff was very friendly and took great care of us. The facility was pretty aged and worn. I was really disappointed with the biscuits they were good but not anything special and I was really hoping for an excellent biscuit. The eggs were cooked to perfection and really good. All the meats we had were also really good. The gravy wasn't as good as I was expecting either. I would eat here again just not with as high expectations as before.

Yelp
Hands down the best breakfast in Memphis! Not just for the price, but tastier than the rest! not much ambience, if you want that, get it to go and take it to your favorite museum or park no fancy decor but the best biscuits, gravy!!, country ham, country fried steak, bacon, eggs, sausage, pancakes, coffee is diner coffee, so if you need that grab a Starbucks on the way

Calvin G.

Yelp
This is a great place for breakfast but you night drive right by it if not looking for it. The paint and color on the outside is weathered and not bright. It doesn't look like a place that even might sell good food when you are looking from the outside. And, once you walk in its not your average looking breakfast restaurant type of place. We stood in a pretty long line to give our orders. the line moved quickly though. I had the fried bolgna, scrambled eggs, biscuits and grits. The folk with me had pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits, grits, and coffee. We were given a numbered table sign and found a table to sit. I must admit that it was quite spacious inside with several table seating for two or 4 to choose from. Not long afterwards, the server came with our food. Everything looked delicious. The fried bologna was melt in your mouth smooth with crispy edges (just the way I like mine) The eggs were scrambled just right and were so tasty. I added the country sausage gravy to mine and it was just the right amount of savory to push the dish over the top for me. The biscuits were homemade and were light and airy. The added gravy to them reminded me of my grandmothers kitchen table in North Carolina when I was a child. The hickory bacon was thick cut, smoked, and cooked to perfection! The person that had the coffee in our party said that the coffee was tasty and also brewed to perfection. The price for breakfast was very reasonable so I would definitely recommend this place as a must drop in for breakfast. Again, it doesn't look like much from the outside and when you first walk in...but looks can be deceiving. When it comes to a well priced, delicious, and variety filled breakfast you cannot beat Bryant's Breakfast in Memphis. You wont be disappointed!

Yelp
We were told by a hotel employee about Bryant's and shared about their biscuits. I'm not a biscuit person, however those with me do enjoy biscuits. I must admit that if the place were not Recommended we would Not have gone / gone in to the restaurant. From the outside it looks like there would be no seating and as if it were a dive. We almost made a decision to try it out since recommendations were that there was Great food. Once we entered we saw the large spacious dining area. The menu is above the counter for ordering. We placed our order, was given an order number and made our way to an open table. Once seated a woman came to the table with flatware. What wasn't clear was if you order coffee - it is self service. The server brought out our meals once the order was ready. And might I say we were pleasantly impressed. Our meals ordered included a veggie omelet with biscuits and gravy, fried bologna and eggs and pancakes with thick bacon (you'll see the pictures) and an order of hash brown casserole (however we didn't realize until wee were back to the hotel and thanked the employee for the recommendation. The fried bologna literally melts in your mouth was nicely crispy edges. The bacon was thick and cooked to perfection (no under cooked flaccid bacon but thick and tasty. The pancakes were more griddled cakes with lightly crispy edges and bits. They were fluffy yet light. The omelette was full of veggies, the biscuits (I was told) were light, buttery and hot. The two breakfasts were served with grits. We were satisfied and so glad we went ahead and ate there. The food was fantastic! The only thing was we did not get the hash brown casserole as ordered however we did not realize until we'd returned to the hotel. I would definitely recommend stopping in and order breakfast.

Yelp
This place is nothing fancy but it is a great spot for a good big breakfast. We came here in 2021 while visiting Memphis. Every time we ate here the line was out the door. Very large portions, big pancakes and friendly service. We had enough food for breakfast the next day. This is a must visit place when in Memphis.

Breanna T.

Yelp
It was a good but don't see the hype haha. Maybe I didn't the right things. But your average breakfast spot. You walk in order your food they give you a number and you sit down or eat in. Nothing special nothing fancy. I do like that concept. It's very fast and good comes out hot. Everybody is nice. They actually remade my food because it was a miscommunication and that was really nice of them. I would visit again because food is reasonably priced.

LaToya W.

Yelp
Everything was great! The food was hot and fresh. The staff was friendly and quick. Love this place wish they stayed open longer. They are an asset to the community.

Joe H.

Yelp
5/5 here! We come here for the biscuits and a good ole cup of Joe. Staff is nice and this is a must in Memphis. All of the food is fresh and never a miss

Romell H.

Yelp
Food excellent service fast and friendly ambiance is clean and way to start your day try it you will love it.

Jessica J.

Yelp
My first time eating here with my parents and the food is delicious. I had pancakes and bacon, and they both were cooked perfectly. The service was great as well. The waiter was nice and answered all of our questions. Our food came out quick as well. The environment was nice and open. It's enough sitting for a lot of people. I'm glad that we stopped by for breakfast!

Megan S.

Yelp
Food quality has some inconsistencies that are relatively easy to fix. If you're looking for an inexpensive and tasty savory breakfast this is the place to go. My eggs were cooked perfectly and seasoned very well. My sausage was overcooked but had a lot of flavor. My husband had an egg and cheese biscuit which he enjoyed very much. He said he could tell the biscuit was homemade. He also had a catfish biscuit which was fine but nothing to write home about. To my surprise the pancakes were fantastic! The cinnamon roll french toast (also the most expensive food item by far) fell completely flat. It's literally a cheap tasting cinnamon roll sliced and cooked. No icing, just syrup. No french toast batter. It was bad. Luckily we had great customer service when explaining our dissatisfaction with the French toast and were able to get some more pancakes in its place. I'll be back, however I will need to be in an eggs and sausage kind of mood.

Laketa J.

Yelp
Philly cheese steak at 8 am!! Delicious!!!! Service was fast considering they were packed. The staff is friendly and welcoming the ambiance is good!!

Samantha B.

Yelp
It was just ok! I'm not sure why people make such a fuss haha. Keep in mind, I'm not a huge breakfast person, but my friend said she wasn't feeling it either. The service was great it just tasted really bland. I had to add lots of salt to mine and I rarely use salt in anything. The French toast appealed but it looks so sweet I'm worried it'll upset my stomach. I'd be willing to try it with someone tho. To try: Cinnamon Roll French Toast Ok: - Scrambler: Pork Tenderloin

Sandy B.

Yelp
Perhaps I ordered the wrong breakfast, the gravy bowl with bacon because I was eating on the go, but it was a flavorless meal. The gravy definitely wasn't from scratch and the eggs must have been precooked. There was nothing in that bowl besides the bacon that had any taste whatsoever. What happened to this iconic Memphis legend? So dissatisfying and disappointing. It took less than 60 seconds after ordering for them to present me with my food. Sorry Bryant's but you won't get my money again.

David D.

Yelp
What can I say, we love Bryant's. I was concerned with new owners, the biscuits might change. Nope. Delicious. I ordered Biscuits and gravy, sausage and bacon with grits! My som got the pancake meal with eggs and bacon. Wonderful breakfast. Our visit the inside was packed but we got in. It did not disappoint. The meal was out quick and it was great. I ate too much. It was a bit dirty but it was right after breakfast rush and they were cleaning tables as fast as they coukd We love Bryant's and will be back. A highlight was meeting former Frayser High School/ Seattle Seahawks(we are huge Seahawk fans) Ken "The Hammer" Hamlins sweet Mama.

Ryan C.

Yelp
Excellent food. Fast service. Couldn't recommend enough!! Very busy and you know why once you order. Great on the wallet and the stomach.

Gavin K.

Yelp
A Memphis classic! Don't let the line scare you off... it moves quickly and table seating is generally available. You place your order at the counter, find a seat and staff will bring your order out to you. Food was prepared well, with great portion sizes. Staff is friendly and attentive.

Mary M.

Yelp
Food is good but I do t like the closeness of the seating. They are in need of some upgrades.

Charlisha G.

Yelp
Come here with a big appetite. Me and my little one came here for a late breakfast. They have an old school country diner vibe. Almost like an advanced Waffle House. All of the food taste home made and really good. They do move and operate fast. Everyone knows what they want and appears to be familiar with the menu. Everyone including the customers are down to earth working class people and the food is extremely affordable. This place is off summer so it's in North Memphis.

Robert S.

Yelp
Hands down to me the best breakfast place in Memphis! Most nostalgic too, been going there as long as I've been alive (42 now) & have never been disappointed! Well other then the Loooooong lines lol

Goldie M.

Yelp
Bryants Breakfast. I arrived at 5 am. Short line. But many patrons already there getting their morning meals and coffee. Many regulars. They call them by name. Quick to place an order and quick to get your food. Cinnamon rolls were my reason to go. They ready and on the counter. I added a platter to the order just to try. Biscuits on point. Gravy is smooth. Eggs cooked to order. We coming back only at 5 am. I have seen those lines after that grow. But ultimately we'll worth it.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
Parking was a breeze but we did have to wait in line for about twenty minutes outside as the line was wrapped around the building. It was our first visit so I wasn't entirely sure it was going to be worth it with two little kids in the cold. But let me tell you. Extremely friendly service, clean tables and crazy fast food to table! Quite a bit of pepper for my taste in the gravy but it was a good consistency and the biscuits were very fresh and steaming and fluffy. I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast and added pecans and the portions are so large that we had plenty to go! The Cajun fries were crispy and the pancakes were so big we split an order between the kiddos. Coffee was good! The layout of the place was a little difficult to manage as there were so many people you had to wait in a line to get a straw, etc.

Matt O.

Yelp
Going to Bryan's on any giving morning at 5am there's been a long line of hungry customers gathered eager & hankering for breakfast crowding at the counter.  It's easy to see for regulars that the wait is familiar. From the moment coffee cups fill up quick & orders taken. The breakfast to lunch rush begins.    Succulent sandwiches & excellent platters? People are raving & I wanted to know how the hype surrounding it. My friend decided to take me one morning after months of enjoying breakfast here. Upon arriving the first thing I noticed besides a long line he described to me was a large menu board displayed above the counter offering an expansive selection of delicious sandwiches & platters. The first impression I had walking in was that this looks like other average diners I have dined at on previous occasions. What could be so special? They all serve the same breakfast & lunch fare. That's where I was wrong. When I received my breakfast sampler. It was impressive, featuring all my favorite cornucopia of juicy breakfast meats featuring ham sausage & bacon.  No breakfast sampler would be complete without those fluffy eggs, buttery grits & biscuits fluffy as eggs & buttery like grits featuring a side of gravy all piping hot on to one delicious plate. There's one disappointment I had & it was the breakfast sampler doesn't include the hash brown casserole & is worth the extra $3 of crisp onion sour cream cheesy seasoned goodness putting others to shame. This breakfast is the most hardy satisfying meal I have ever eaten & will bring other friends here to partake in this wonderful meal. With breakfast this good I have to come back & try lunch.    Their dining area is clean & maintained including clean floors & constantly bussed tables. The restaurant's is kept organized. Their cashier's are friendly & hospitable ensuring your order is correct & processed quick I have to give props to the chefs for the excellent meal experience & the staff for the overall experience. I'm excited to dine here again & have breakfast.  Be sure to like on FB &  tell a friend https://www.facebook.com/bryantsbreakfast/

Sue M.

Yelp
Yes!Yes!Yes! This was well worth the sketchy Uber driver to get to this place for a phenomenal and affordable all American breakfast. Don't let the line around the building deter you; the staff is fast and efficient, and these days, that's hard to come by. Generous portions, and the best bacon I ever had in my LIFE.

Allen M.

Yelp
New ownership is terrible. Phil would roll in his grave if he knew how bad his business was being run

Meredith B.

Yelp
I had never even heard of Bryant's, but my boyfriend's family love it! Despite being packed, the service was so fast and the food was very good! I got the chicken biscuit, a classic.

Akin B.

Yelp
This place has extremely fluffy biscuits, and they lived up to the hype that my friends had been giving it. It looks like if you just show up on a Saturday, the line may be wrapped around the corner (bad but a good sign for quality of food), so I would recommend ordering ahead (online). I had the country ham biscuit and Philly cheesesteak biscuit. The country ham one was a little drier than I expected, but the Philly cheesesteak biscuit was B O M B. I will definitely be back, and I'd recommend you give it a try too

Jeff W.

Yelp
A friend introduced me to Bryant's Breakfast 10 to 15 years ago. The food was great, but the dining room was a little past its prime. It needed more than paint; it needed power washing. Nonetheless, I've been back nearly every time I've returned to Memphis. Fast forward to Fall 2021. I hadn't been in several years. The interior is totally redone. It retains the campy diner feel, but it's clean and repainted. It has new furniture, new light fixtures, new menu board. Everything seems new and clean. And the food is still great. They're apparently famous for cinnamon rolls. I haven't had one per se, but the photo is the Cinnamon Roll French Toast that I had today ... a triple-sliced cinnamon roll cooked the rest of the way like any French Toast. Holy moly! Delicious. I already liked Bryant's, but it will be a higher priority on future trips to the Bluff City.

Pearson W.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast just went today for my first time, I'm visiting Tennessee. You order at the counter and sit down and they bring the food to you. It's not like a high service restaurant where they take your order and stuff so you didn't have dómine waiting you. I love the hash browns and the Bryant's pancake combo so yea you should go here

austin s.

Yelp
bryant's is breakfast diner food at its best. who doesnt want their breakfast diner to be a little gross. perfect ambiance. i know i do. this is the kind of place to go when you're hungover. and i mean that in the best way. service is always kind and they are always super fast-- despite every time coming here it being absolutely packed.

Yvonne C.

Yelp
This place is amazinggggggg. I was craving some really good comfort food and this was the best choice for that. I was so skeptical about online ordering because I'd been here before and the line was outrageously long. Needless to say, when I walked in and said I had a pick up order: They knew who it was for The were prompt They were very friendly and seemed genuinely happy.

Denise N.

Yelp
My food came out warm to cold. Been here a long time ago and they were on it. I hear the owner transitioned RIP. Well everyone is gonna have to step up on the service. Don't get me wrong the food is still good....

Mark B.

Yelp
Bryant's is as good today as it was a decade ago. Hot biscuits, eggs cooked to order, friendly staff, diverse nice customers and a throw back to good ole wonderful breakfast. Not to be missed if you are a local or a tourist. A ton of food for a small price. Best breakfast in town! Enjoy!!

Pamela Y.

Yelp
I came here for the first time at 11:30 Tuesday even though I have lived about 5-7 minutes away from Bryant's for 10 years. I used to be deterred due to the long lines outside but I decided to stick it out. The line actually went pretty quickly and I'm pretty sure that once I ordered I only waiting about 5 minutes before someone came out with my order to go. They are a well oiled, organized machine. They do accept credit cards and contactless pay, which was good for me before I thought they previously only accepted cash, which I never have. I ordered the scrambler with city ham which came with 2 of their fluffy biscuits and a side of gravy and a side of grits. I also ordered a cinnamon roll. Now, I normally would protest against paying $4 for one roll; however, I know how long it takes to make biscuits and cinnamon rolls so I didn't protest. I took my order home and baked the roll so that the frosting would melt. My kids absolutely loved the roll and biscuits. They were so fluffy. I was surprised that nothing was too salty, too sweet, too buttery or too greasy. I ate the scrambler with the gravy. I liked the biscuits plain because they were just that good. I'm glad I finally came here. My meal cost $16 but I was only able to eat half of my scrambler so it became 2 meals for me. Therefore, price wise, it was fine. When thinking about breakfast places around Memphis, there are just a few and even fewer local ones. I can see why this is always on great breakfast lists and why they have stayed in business so long.

Jeff W.

Yelp
Man, I don't know what's up with these reviews. This place is ok, but I've had much better. Biscuits are too heavy, not light and fluffy. Gravy is too sour tasting. Country ham had good flavor, but it was too salty and very tough. I know a couple of places that have much better biscuits, gravy and country ham. Won't be eating here again. If this is the best southern style breakfast Memphis had to offer, I feel sorry for you folks. 2.5 stars for a very average breakfast.

John M.

Yelp
Very popular place but I did not care for it at all. Plain tasting but if you want quantity this is your place

Celeta S.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the City ham and biscuits. I wasn't a fan of the gravy. I also didn't like the way the line was set up. We had to wait outside and the line was short. Reconfigured the line would allow us to social distance and wait inside. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. I never knew about City ham but it was less salty and I am now a fan. This place is you typical diner but I enjoyed it and would go back.

Alexis B.

Yelp
First time getting anything from here. Just got it to go. I got the original French toast and bacon! One of my pieces of French toast tasted like the stove it had been cooked on with everything else. It was just one piece that tasted like that and all the other pieces were great! The bacon was thick just like i like it! It was all very good and I'm looking forward to getting a chance to dine in.

Kim D.

Yelp
Y'all already know they have amazing breakfasts, but do you know they have wonderful burgers and the best onion rings in the city?! It's so good and cheaper than McDonald's, plus they value you as a customer and the service is great!! Sorry, no picture! We ate too fast lol!!! Old time diner vibe.

B W.

Yelp
Perfect biscuit sammy. Everyone's food was amazing! Great service!! Just a reminder to other customers: PLEASE don't sit down before you order (no matter how old you are!)

Edgar R.

Yelp
We saw this place and the line was out the door but moved quickly. It was a short wait and very much worth the wait. We had Bryant's Pancake Breakfast which was delicious!

Daniel H.

Yelp
Co-workers recommended Bryant's for lunch, so I headed over a little before 1p. When I arrived, however, I had to check the calendar; sure enough, it's still 2020, and yet Bryant's doesn't accept credit-card payments (much less contactless). Helpfully, they have signs that tell prospective customers that the 21st century (and a gas station with an ATM) are right next door. When I returned to 1985...er, Bryant's, I was surprised to find that the restaurant had closed at 1p. I double-checked this Yelp page and sure enough, not only is their page here claimed (meaning that its information is official), but they don't close on Thursdays until 2p. The employees and the signs at the doors of the establishment beg to differ. I cannot recommend a cash-only establishment in 2020 that either posts inaccurate information online, or cannot be bother to maintain the same.

Cee G.

Yelp
I tried the Sampler. Biscuits and meats were delicious. I'm not a fan of the gravy. My Grits and eggs over easy, delicious. My husband ordered the Phillysteak omelet with pancake. No complaints. He said it was delicious. We definitely would return if in the area. It has a diner vibe. The place could use some renovations other than that, great breakfast and customer service. I recommend.

Jay T.

Yelp
This is a great place to have breakfast. Yes, the line can be long, but it is worth the wait. I ordered the sampler plate which cam with three eggs, three of the best biscuits I have ever tasted, a piece of bacon, sausage, pork tenderloin, country ham and a fried potato cake. Everything was fresh and tasty with the biscuits and potato pancake stealing the show.

Richard C.

Yelp
Seriously one of the best breakfast joints I've ever been to. This place is certainly worthy of triple D. The biscuits and gravy are made from scratch, as is everything else. They only take cash, but the prices are very affordable. The omelettes are super sized, as are the pancakes. Be prepared to wait in line, but the line is very quickly. You will not regret making a decision to have breakfast at Bryant's breakfast spot

Kaci G.

Yelp
Absolutely can not recommend this place enough. Amazing food and amazing service. Everyone here is always so kind. The food is always so good and very affordable! Don't be deterred by the long line, it always moves so quickly!

Olivia F.

Yelp
Oh man! The food is so good! Great service, really friendly at the counter and our server was fabulous! The potato cakes are crispy and flavorful! Great biscuits and smoked sausage was really good!

Tishara H.

Yelp
Friendly service and delicious food. Kitchen sink omelette and Philly cheesesteak sandwich along with the breakfast potatoes are a must try. You won't be disappointed. Very reasonable prices.

Desmond L.

Yelp
Best breakfast in memphis, was so sad to see it down over the course of covid 19 but now its back and running. Only thing is to make sure to actually make it in the morning before the whole neighborhood steeps in.

Patricia W.

Yelp
This place is overhyped - I've lived here 30 yrs and this place is around the corner - salty af and makes my stomach hurt and gives me the craps for a couple days -biscuits dusty af; plus the gd line - you think they were saving the earth and not leaving all that trash on the back lot like they do - whatevs - they won't get any more of my money

Heather C.

Yelp
Amazing Memphis institution. Fantastic in every sense. Nutella pancakes are divine. Biscuits are fluffy and delicious. All meats are yummy in that Southern heart attack way. Cannot recommend it more highly.
