We camped in the campground on a road trip. We were very disappointed with the lack of communication to us and apparently between the different branches of the business. Nobody answered the phone when we called the campground, and the campground office was closed when we arrived, so we went to the hotel lobby to book our site. We were looking forward to using the hot tub and laundry facilities and were even given the needed pass codes and hours of each. Tried to use the hot tub 2 hours before it was supposed to close and the dressing rooms were locked. OK, a disappointment, but we will use the hot tub in the morning before we leave. In the morning we went to do our laundry and joined the other couple of campers who were waiting outside in the cold for the laundry room to open. We all stood there for 20 minutes before giving up. So we go to use the hot tub before continuing on our way, and the dressing rooms are still locked. I went to the hotel lobby again to ask what was up. I was informed that both facilities were closed for the season. It would have been nice to have been informed of that last night as/before we were booking!
The other thing is that the campground bathrooms/showers really needed a cleaning. It was their slow season and they couldn't even clean the bathrooms?? Super dirty floor, rat nests of hair in the shower, poop inside of the toilet bowl and pee on the seat of the other toilet. Same thing the next day - they had not cleaned. Same poop on the toilet bowl and hair in the drains. The one good thing I will say about the showers is that they were nice and hot!
We were desperate for the power hookup as it was a cold night, well below freezing in late November Early December, but would have looked elsewhere if we knew that the hot tub and laundry facilities would have been closed. Very very disappointing. It would have been completely fine if they had just communicated these things ahead of time. Very misleading.
After I brought these things up at the front desk in the lobby, I was offered a small discount. I'm glad that they did something to try to make it right but it honestly wasn't enough of a discount for how big of a disappointment this place was.
