Hurtigruten's New Culinary Ambassador Safeguards Sámi Food Heritage
"The onboard bistro outlets across the Coastal Express fleet that will begin serving a Sámi-inspired menu aimed at introducing travelers to traditional flavors and stories. Expect dishes designed to reflect seasonal and ethical practices—such as smoked reindeer souvas with flat bread and a reindeer liver burger with lingonberry dressing—selected to highlight local ingredients and the herder’s preference for adult-reindeer fat over calf meat as a cultural and conservation-minded choice." - Karen Gardiner
The food and service here is really good! We ordered the salmon and the burger, and both were of excellent quality. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend!

Table service. Nice views of harbour or town square. Sadly my dish was rather salty but my husband enjoyed his omelette and salad. Gluten free bread and pizza available. Easy to park a motorhome/campervan in the town, which is definitely worth a visit and in much better repair than Henningsvær just down the road.

First time in Norway trying the Whale. It was amazing and tasted incredible, better than steak. This pub cooked it too perfection. Very happy.

Norwegian delights at its best!
Charming little restaurant by the water. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. Lovely terrace in front of the restaurant to enjoy the long summer nights. The staff is friendly. You order at the bar and they’ll serve you at your table. Delicious traditional Norwegian food. The perfect place for shrimp and codfish lovers! The plates are huge and so yummy. The food is fresh and very tasty. They even have 1-2 red wines by the glass, which are actually not bad.
Excellent value for money.

Would pass on this place. The food was bland for the price and service wasn’t great. Atmosphere was cute but little to no people when we were there. Seems more like a place to grab a beer than eat dinner.

A lot of options were sold out on an already quite limited menu.
The food we were able to order - pizza and fish & chips - were largely mediocre.

Rip-off!
I paid 85 NOK here for a single scoop of vanilla ice cream (I had ordered an espresso with a scoop of vanilla ice cream). Instead of an espresso, they only had regular filter coffee, which I politely declined. Still, I had to pay 85 NOK – that’s really outrageous.
