BT's Southern BBQ

Not a fan of their Nashville Hot Chicken they fry it in the sauce, which burns the spices... that is not how they do it in Nashville. They have some interesting dry rub chicken wings. Good mix, but a little more on the sweet side than I like, but they are addicting. The brisket sandwich is the best with the spicy BBQ sauce, but it can be a little dry sometimes. Overall, a solid BBQ spot.

I visit here regularly -- this is a great family establishment with great food, great beer, and a very welcoming front of house staff, especially Brad, the owner. The food is delicious, I've tried most of the menu and haven't found anything I don't like. The daily specials are always fantastic. I highly recommend both the Nashville hot chicken on Wednesday and the tacos on Tuesday, they are surprisingly tasty street tacos that can compete with any taco place in the city. The beer list is second to none. They always has a good mix of beers, so whatever you like or are feeling, there's something for you on the menu. The bar staff is very knowledgable about the beer and can help you find something you like. They consistently get great beers that you don't often see at other places.

Comfortable outdoor patio with tables and umbrellas to enjoy food or a beer. The staff is very friendly. There's a great selection of local craft beers on tap. It's easy to find something you'll like, and they'll let you taste one if you're unsure. I've actually never tried the food here, but it smells absolutely wonderful, and friends have told me it's excellent. I enjoy a quick stop at BT's for a local craft beer after a long bike ride.

As a traveling Texan I can tell you this BBQ Rocks...great Ribs (and the Turkey, too, which wouldn't normally be a go-to for me, but the owner recommended it and he was right!). Didn't get to try the Nashville Hot Fried Chicken but heard from others it is great too. Great menu all around and a fun place, check it out, and I'll be back on next trip through!

Absolutely, without a doubt, the worst BBQ I have ever had. I have had BBQ in Texas, Tennessee and North Carolina- believe me when I say that NOTHING tastes like this. I ordered a brisket sandwich and cup of chili. The brisket was flavorless, chewy and dripping oil (no idea how this is even possible). Far worse, however, was the "brisket chili." Look, I've been to Texas and had some amazing chili. This isn't even chili at all. It's basically a cup of pizza sauce with some meat chunks in it. Yes, you read that right- pizza sauce. I took a few bites of each trying to enjoy it, but ultimately gave up. The only redeeming factor that makes this place deserve two stars was I was approached by the staff asking if I enjoyed my meal, which I said "no" to. They offered to get me something different off the menu, but I ultimately declined and just took this as a $12 lesson instead and left. There are so many options for amazing food in San Diego; don't waste your time here.

BTs is easily the best BBQ place in this area. There is a great beer selection with taps that are constantly rotating. There is always an amazing selection. There isn't a bad item on the menu and yes I have tried everything on the menu. The atmosphere is great, the staff is very friendly and the customers are also very friendly. Its nice to have a chat at the bar with whoever is sitting next to you.

Good food and a great beer selection. I'd highly suggest this place to anyone looking for some good pulled pork or southern style ribs. It's not Phil's but it stands well on its own menu. The owner is always around for a chat and is pretty spot-on with his beer suggestions.
