"Bubala’s extensive, all-vegetarian a la carte menu may seem overwhelming at first. It’s got anxious decision-making and the terrifying possibility of food envy written all over it—especially as almost everything at this Middle Eastern spot near Spitalfields is completely delicious. But in the evening, ‘Bubala Knows Best’. This set menu has all their greatest hits, like their hummus, labneh, warm salted laffa flatbread, mushroom skewers, and crispy, crispy latkes." - jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak
"Bubala was one of our Best New Restaurants of 2019. Now this vegetarian Middle Eastern spot are delivering pickle plates, laffa flatbread, dips, halloumi and black seed honey, and larger sharing plates from 6pm every evening. Order here." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak

"Private room for you and your hummus? Yes please. For the first time, this Middle Eastern spot in Spitalfields is offering bookings of their entire upstairs dining room for you and some friends. This place has quickly become one of our favourite restaurants for multiple reasons, only one of which is their huge slabs of halloumi covered in black seed honey." - heidi lauth beasley
"The fact that Bubala’s tasting menu uses the initials ‘ngf’—not gluten free—should fill you with confidence about this little Middle Eastern restaurant in Spitalfields. It’s one of our favourite spots in the area and after one taste of the hummus or huge slabs of honey-covered halloumi, you’ll see why. The only thing on the £42 tasting menu that isn’t gluten-free is the laffa flatbread. Come evening you can expect plenty of tealight candles and a cosy atmosphere." - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna
