Bubba Gumbo’s

First of all, this place rocks! It has a cozy, local vibe that you just can’t beat. Located right on the water, you’ll enjoy a peaceful view whether you choose to sit outside or inside. I loved the atmosphere, and the music was totally my jam. They offer Sunday brunch, which is a nice touch, but we went for lunch. The fried shrimp was some of the best I’ve ever had! The crab cakes were absolutely delicious, too. This is literally the one and only place to eat in Tybee if you want fresh seafood. GO HERE!

This is a great little place. Food was excellent, service was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is just a small local bar/food stop that makes.good seafood meals. We ordered the gumbo (the place is named after.gumbo), crab cakes, hush puppies, we split a shrimp dinner and my father in law went with the crab cake dinner. I have not had much gumbo, but I will definitely compare other gumbo to that one. If I had to nitpick, the shrimp are tiny.

This casual diner serves up fresh fish at reasonable prices. No frills with a view. Large portions of fries definitely fills your daily arb count. We had the gumbo and blackened flounder. Both tasty.

Great vibe tucked away from the chaos of tourism. Unique fun play servers are awesome! Pod is real good. I recommend the smash burger shrimp, crab cake and the Hush Puppies are great! We will be back. If you in Savannah it’s work the driver to eat here.

This was good eats. We've had a lot of this food before since we live right next door to Louisiana (poboys) and have been eating shrimp and grits (Charleston) for years now, so this wasn't bad. The po boy just needs a better bread and a few more shrimp to be a contender. The shrimp and grits are pretty darn good for a hole in the wall type of place. The hush puppies were excellent and their French fries are chips style but I didn't see any fish and chips on the menu unfortunately. That's just crazy guys. Those fries are screaming to be served with a beer battered pollock or cod. We did order the special crab claws and while they weren't bad at all, it wasn't our favorite thing to eat here. Definitely a chill little spot though, with affordable brew to boot ;-) Thanks bubba gumbo!!! 😉

Fantastic, fresh food. Pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed everything about this place. Their drinks are superb. Will come again next time I visit Tybee

If you're contemplating going to Bubba Gumbos do yourself a favor and just go. You won't be disappointed. We love resturants that are off the beaten path and a little bit of a hidden gem, and this place was exactly that! The food was delicious, the staff were amazing and the drinks were strong. It was a LOVELY place to spend a rainy afternoon. Everything was freshly caught that day and the dessert was from a local bakery. Will definitely be going back, next time we are in town!

Great find on visit to Tybee. Hidden on side road but definitely worth the effort to get there. Food was delicious and service was top notch! Rustic atmosphere but relaxing and enjoyable!
