Houston Restaurateur Tilman Fertitta Plans to Resign From Landry’s | Eater Houston

"Included in the owner’s March 20, 2025 ethics filing as one of his restaurant holdings to be resigned and divested if confirmation proceeds. The filing specifies he will give up a promised severance package in exchange for a lump-sum deferred-compensation payment, will retain only a passive interest, and will “not provide services material to the production of income.” It also records that his wife remains employed by the parent company and that he will keep a contract allowing “[a]ccess to, and use of, Fertitta Entertainment goods, services, and properties.”" - Courtney E. One review at a time I've developed to become a highly regarded local guide but I am a big Seafood person I stumbled upon this wonderful restaurant. Although it currently sits at a 3.8 rating I decided to give it a shot. I noticed whoever the owner of this restaurant is they are not engaged with their customers they do not respond to majority of the feedback left good or bad doesn't matter if it's a one-star or anything in between up to a five star. They are really selective when they respond to a random one-off comment here and there. Upon my arrival I did have a long wait time and it was a Wednesday afternoon there was only three tables occupied and it looked like only one person was working I waited for about 10 or 15 minutes until someone finally acknowledged me and said someone will be right out. Someone came right out of the kitchen and sat me I don't know if it was it an actual employee or a cook because I never saw them again but they seated me and I decided to sit outside. The person serving my table was wonderful and she was very knowledgeable on stuff with the menu and even recommended items. I got the garlic bread and bang bang shrimp and my intentions were to get more food but by the time I had those two items I was full. Overall my bang bang shrimp was good and no complaints there. The garlic bread was also good, not bad. I honestly would give this restaurant in overall three but the only reason and I say only, again let me reiterate the only reason why I am giving you a four-star review is because my food specifically the Bang Bang Shrimp was really good and the garlic bread was not bad and the atmosphere overall. It was themed nice the weather was phenomenal outside and the music just created a vibe in atmosphere so I think that overshadows all the issues I had but overall I can see why other customers reviews are starting to Trend downwards in people are leaving one and two and even three stars as of recent

The restaurant itself is nostalgic and any Forrest Gump fan will live the pictures and merchandise. The food however was a disappointment 😞 No true Cajun seasoning and the fried shrimp was terribly coated and soaked in oil. The gumbo had no spice nor did it taste authentic. The mashed potatoes had no flavor and were served cold. For the price of plates here, the food was just not up par. Dessert options? One of 3...a box of chocolates, strawberry shortcake, and a 3rd I can't recall.

My friend took me there to celebrate our achievements. I ordered Shrimp Mac & Cheese ($14.99) and juice. Apparently, they did not have juice for adults, so they put my juice order as a "Kids Drink" ($0.99). With tax, $17.26. Cannot say food was delicious. It was ordinary, not with a special taste. But this place has a great positive vibe. I would like to come back for that vibe again.

Google
I’ve been to many Bubba Gump restaurants and have had nothing but excellent experiences. The quality of food was like eating out the bottom of the city dumpster! Absolutely disgusting!! Hire cooks that can cook! We had a wonderful server but the food was absolutely disgusting. Got the bill and I laughed. You serve cheap food that is disgusting and charge way over its worth! I’ll never ever come back here! ZERO STARS FOR ME!

Clean and comfortable, service was off but I still received my food. Fish and chip was only so so.

Google
See photos - Advertisement on the sidewalk said $3 domestics all day on Thursday. Today is Thursday. I asked about the $3 beers, and they said that is only available at the bar. I said, "May I sit at the bar?" They said that the bar was not open yet. It is 2:00 p.m. So I can't drink at the bar with the $3 domestics all day, but the specials for $3 domestics are "all day"? This is why restaurants fail.

We didn’t listen to the reviews and I wish we would’ve. My husband and I both ordered the shrimp and crab boil. It looked a lot better than it tasted. The shrimp and crab were overcooked, very dry and rubbery. The potatoes were undercooked, still crispy and tasted like raw potatoes. Our waitress was decent, friendly. Very disappointed. We LOVE the Las Vegas location but this one was completely different. What a let down. I would not go back.

I came today to take my boyfriend out to eat. I spent $25 for so I wouldn’t miss my reservation. We were sat at 7:05. We didn’t get appetizers until 7:45-7:50. Drinks didn’t come until 8 and they close in an hour. We’re still waiting on entrees. The appetizers themselves were good but not excellent for the wait time. I watched a table wait for fifteen minutes before leaving because they weren’t tended to. Another woman had to chase one of the waiters down to be sat. The food finally came at around 8:15. We weren't checked on at all. No refills on drinks. No asking for extras napkins or any sort of courtesy. It was an awful night.

Yelp
Ice Tea and Dr Pepper I like their ice tea a lot, and having a cold Dr Pepper makes my day. The food always hits. Excellent shrimp. They have a strawberry salad that's really good too!

Yelp
Ok...it's my own fault. I knew before I ate here how it was going to be. Had the Shrimper's Heaven. Tempura shrimp coating was spongy and not a bit crisp like tempura should be. Coconut shrimp had little flavor. Tartar sauce is super salty. Chowder looks nothing like the photo in the menu. Seriously I could go on, but why? I know this is a national food service quality chain...but I have never been. Glad I ate alone and didn't spend a ton of $ with the family here. Next table got crab and they could not find them a crab shell tool so they struggled eating it. Was prey humorous and they were good sports! Server was nice though!

Yelp
I went to the Denver Bubba Gump Shrimp restaurant with solid expectations simply because I received a great experience there before. This visit was on a Wednesday night at 730ish and the restaurant was pretty quiet, there were maybe 5 more tables beyond myself. The crew was good, friendly, no complaints there. The food however was a disappointment. I ordered Forrest's Seafood Feast, which is a fish fillet, 5 fried shrimp, seafood hush pups, fries and coleslaw. The order came without coleslaw, I told my server but it never came out. The fish and shrimp were overcooked and hard. The fries were not quite cooked all the way. The 4 seafood hush pups were the best cooked item but they were small like a tater tot. Unfortunately for me, this plate with an iced tea was a little over $28. I would have had a better meal at Long John Silver for half the price and I would have still had the fond memory of what It was.

M S.

Yelp
This is the place to go when you don't wanna walk much further and want a step up from fast food. I can appreciate being able to grab a quick drink and plate. However everything is deep-fried and I wish they would be more innovative with their menu. The waitress was kind and Helpful. I will say the restaurant was very clean and for that reason I would go back in an emergency.

Yelp
5 years later we got the chance to come back to this location! As a backstory me and my wife started dating 5 years ago back in New Orleans and came to Denver on a 24 hour trip for my birthday! Bubba Gump, Blue Moon & Casa Bonita were highlights of that trip. Fast forward 5 years later and we are now married and live in Denver as of a few months ago. My birthday time so we decided to come out to Bubba Gump to relive our experience as we did years ago. Walked in and were promptly seated, we decided to sit at the bar. Immediately greeted by the bartender and we ordered our drinks. There was a theme here where the bartender was heavily pushing the Landry Club on us. Which for me I wouldn't mind but I had actually bought it last June at Bubba Gumps in NYC and couldn't activate my card as you were supposed to activate it in first 24 hours or it's gone. ( I wasn't aware of this) Anyways, we ordered an appetizer and I decide to get the beer with souvenir cup as I liked the slump tall pint glass. The appetizer came out as we got the calamari and we loved the other sauce that came with it (forgot the name but looked like a chipotle aoli) Our food came out shortly after. My wife ordered ... of course we have scampi! Which was the shrimp sauteed with capers in Lemon Garlic Butter, served over a bed of Linguine. My wife loved it the garlic butter was divine! No bad feedback! I ordered the jambalaya as I am picky with my Jambalaya and wooooowwww! It was phenomenal, great flavor a bit of a kick too!! Overall we enjoyed our time and experience here and would definitely come back again!

Yelp
I stumbled across this nostalgic restaurant while on travel in Denver. Like many, I'm a lifelong fan of the movie Forrest Gump and decided to have lunch there with some friends for kicks and giggles. Although I felt like the seating was kind of tight, the restaurant was very clean, including the bathrooms (this is important). Our waiter was really nice, and accommodating to the fact that our table kept growing. He knew we were on a time crunch and worked very hard to ensure that we got our food in a timely fashion and were on our way back to the conference. I would recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

N.J. R.

Yelp
I've heard but never been to this so checked it out for lunch as the conference food was not good. My server Cole was nice, attentive, and not overly hovering. The only issue I had is nearly everything had 1.2k-1300 calorie count. Which is a "me" issue. The place, surprise surprise was decked out in Forrest Gump memoriabilia and signage. I ordered the Bourbon Mahi and Shrimp. The fish was a little on the dry side overcooked and noticiable and the shrimp was good. Overall I nice little spot and I'm fairly certain the non-healthy options are good. My meal clocked in around 700 cal if I recall correctly. Not important to most ppl and only di as I'm eating out every meal this week and want to stay somewhat conscious and moderate on what I take in.

Yelp
It took about 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge us around 6:00 on Friday. Our server was great. Attentive. Friendly. She was working her tail off. Food was mediocre. I had crab / shrimp po boys. My friend had Jenny's salmon. Rice was undercooked, and still hard. The brocolli was barely steamed and chewy. Gumbo rice was hard.

Yelp
I hate to begin the month of April with a negative review. But, as we all can relate, the cost of dining out has reached an all-time high. Salaries and wages are playing catch up still and we as consumers still get the "supply-chain-cost" runaround. Which is partially why I have not written many reviews lately. The other part to that is we have been going to places that have really held their ground in pricing, quality and customer service. Today, early lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp. Have not been to this particular location, but visited the Breckenridge location maybe 7 years ago. 4 top, 11:30am. Not too busy. Noise level was perfect as there were only maybe 4 other similar tables in our area. Seated quickly, and an amazingly attentive and friendly gal quickly took drink and food orders. All of the staff were ones I would want working at my restaurant and facing customers, no doubt! Where we hit the wall was two of us ordered the Shrimp Po' Boy. Both of our breads were as if they had been left out and forgotten for 3 days. So dry and hard, I picked the shrimp and (pickle slice) off and ate it. I musingly stabbed at the bread until I had chipped off a perfect crouton. Our server was so wonderful, I could not bring myself to say anything about, as I'm sure we were one of the first tables of the day and I didn't want to start her day off with a complaint. So, we politely paid our tab and went on our way. Quality control starts with the person picking up each item to make a dish. No matter if you are the first or last to touch the food. Have pride and take a moment to care. It will go a long way for you and everyone you work with.

Yelp
Very empty and not busy during lunch time. Was concerned about no food grade posted but overall nothing to rave about.

Yelp
We have eaten here several times this week. We were staying at the hotel across the street. We first came for the convience but came back because the food was delicious! Both managers were very attentive and helpful. Love Jas and Sean! Everything for the steak and shrimp to the dessert was delicious! Wish we were here longer to eat again!
google avatar

Scarlett H.

Yelp
Saw quite a few poor reviews but since I've never been to anyone of this large chain, I decided to give it a try. It's a Monday night so not busy as all. I was seated right away and the servers were very attentive. My waiter gave me a little background about the restaurant and offered some suggestions. Since it's a shrimp restaurant, I chose their Crabby Shrimp entree. While waiting for my food I looked around and took a few photos of the place - it's cute with movie (Forest Gump) quotes, costumes, and memorabilia all over. Very clean restroom, which is important. My Crabby Shrimp didn't look that great - certainly didn't like the photo on the menu - but tasted quite okay. Good size shrimp and good amount of crab meat. Rice was flavorful and a good amount of broccoli! Overall I'd say the food is average chain restaurant quality but staff seem hardworking and polite.... "And that's all I got to say about that."

Yelp
We went for dinner before heading to a concert. Mid-week was not crowded so we got right in. My daughter ordered the Shrimp Shack Mac & Cheese - shrimp, cheddar and Monterey jack, elbow macaroni and parmesan topping. She was a happy camper. My son and I both ordered Mama Blue's Southern Charmed Fried Shrimp with coleslaw and fries. It came with tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. I had an Iced tea with lemon and the kids had strawberry lemonade. All told, the meal was good. Everything was cooked well and we enjoyed it. I wish our drinks had been refilled but by the time we were checked on, it was time for the check. That went swiftly.

Yelp
Bottom Line: Would recommend if you haven't had it before. A bit more expensive than I think it's worth, but nice atmosphere, good food, amazing service Atmosphere: You really get a southern vibe at this restaurant. Very spacious, natural lighting, moderate noise. As soon as you walk in, you'll see a lot of things from Forrest Gump which was very nostalgic. Food: The food was for the most part good. Both plates did come out a bit messy so I took points for presentation. Mama Blue's Shrimp Gumbo was a bit salty, but otherwise had good flavor. The slurry of the soup, softness of the rice, and solidity of the shrimp gave a great combination of textures in the mouth. The scallion garnish added a nice bold touch. The Bourbon St. Mahi Mahi with Shrimp was a bit here and there. As with the previous dish, the plate came in a bit messy, but the fish was cooked well. The sauce was a bit over cooked. There was that "burnt plastic" like film on the surface of the sauce that you get when you over cook sauces. The grilled shrimp was also over cooked and the mashed potato's were much thicker than I prefer. The flavor of the potato's were mild in strength. The sweet potato crisps added a nice touch of crunch and sweetness while the scallions and diced tomatoes added nice texture to the potato's. Service: I sat at the bar upstairs My server was Derek and let me tell you, whatever he's being paid, it is not NEARLY enough. This man was bouncing all over bar handling the entire floor practically on his own. He really triggered my ADHD(which is a compliment). It was very impressive how much attention he kept on me and each other party at the bar without losing track of what each of us wanted. This is the first time I've ever not only explicitly acknowledged one specific staff member in my reviews, but also given a restaurant five starts for service. Keep up the good work Derek, I hope that you are appreciated by your leadership and colleagues as much as you are by your customers. Overall, could be a bit cheaper but good atmosphere, food could be better flavor, cooking quality, and presentation wise but was still good, and the service was immaculate. The price and the food makes me give it 3 stars. I wish I could give it 3.5 stars due to the amazing service.

Yelp
We've always loved Bubba Gump's, but this location was a huge disappointment. We started with the mac and cheese, which tasted like it had just been microwaved not fresh at all. We didn't make a big deal out of it and just waited for our main meals after a long day of being hungry. Then our soups arrived completely cold. So was the rest of our food. We told our waiter, and instead of handling it himself, he said he'd call the chef to talk to us. The chef never showed up, and after waiting another 15 minutes, we had to ask someone else to get the manager. When they finally brought out the soups again after assuring us they'd be replaced they were still cold. TWICE. When we finally spoke with the manager, instead of listening to us, he dismissed our concerns, claiming he personally took the soup from a 200-degree pot and even burned himself. That was impossible because we physically felt how cold it was. When we tried to explain, he just cut us off and said, "I'm not going to argue with you." At that point, we decided to pay for the mac and cheese and drinks and leave. To make things worse, the fish and chips were soft and floppy instead of crispy. And let's not forget this is seafood we're talking about. Serving cold fish and soup is not just bad service; it's a health risk. People can get seriously sick from improperly handled seafood. We've always had great experiences at Bubba Gump's, but this location was absolutely horrible. The food, the service, and the way they handled complaints were unacceptable. Definitely won't be coming back to this one.

Yelp
This is a chain that we have in Chicago, but it was right across from the Convention Center where I was working at a conference, and it's seafood so why not! It was the perfect place for lunch and it was better than expected! I sat at the bar and had excellent service. I ordered the stuffed shrimp and it was amazing! Stuffed with crabmeat, cheese and a lobster sauce over rice. So good! There were 4 shrimp and with the rice I could only eat 2. I'm still thinking about this dish and would definitely order it again!!

Yelp
The food never came. We waited over an hour for our food, a kids mac n cheese and a side of broccoli and a shrimp platter. Our drinks came immediately. The food never did. The waiter never checked on us until it had been an hour with no food, even though he was servicing tables all around us. We then told him to cancel the order once he finally came and "said sorry, the food should be here soon, I know it's been awhile." The manager came and said sorry and was not going to give an explanation until I asked for one and she just said they had a lot of big parties, which they did, but a kids meal and one platter taking over an hour is absurd. We came here because it was close to the hotel, but I would never return or encourage anyone else to return. Horrible service.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was Amazing! And of course the decorations and theme was everything you'd expect from Forest Gump and Bubba Gump. Super neat experience and an awesome gift shop to browse through too! Everyone was super nice too, great service!

Yelp
Very chill atmosphere but pretty busy on a Friday. Here's a tip: go to the bar- no wait. The menu is pretty standard for a seafood joint. I went simple with the fish n chips. They don't use cod fish, so be prepared for Alaskan Pollock. They offer two portion sizes. The standard size has two pieces of fish and was pretty filling. The bartenders were pretty friendly, too. I ordered a simple watermelon margaritas on the rocks, and the alcohol content was on point. It's located right across from the convention center, central to many of the surrounding hotels. This is a good spot for dine alone, date night, or a group outing. The menu selection has something for everyone, so if you are visiting the city amd have a hankeringfor seafood, check them out.

Yelp
Caesar salad with chicken is a joke. Hardly any chicken and it was overcooked. Staff did nothing to accommodate me.

Austin A.

Yelp
this place is generationaly ass. Multiple couples including myself could only spend about 20 min here. Staff was awful and not helpful, prices are ridiculous for bad food. $11 for a lemon drop shot. I tried to re live my 2006 bubba gump experience. I will never come back again ever, literally.

Joseph M.

Yelp
In a line - "Run Forrest Run" !! Shrimp, from a shrimp boil, were cold and under cooked, red potatoes were undercooked and hard. Fish and chips tasted "fishy". Chicken tenders ordered in an appetizer lacked any flavor. Our server Nathan was very courteous and helpful but at the mercy of the cooking staff who really need help. Great location for such lousy food. Neither Forrest or Jenny would eat here - and that's all I have to say about that!

Yelp
Bubba Gump was the leading dinner of our 2022 Denver vacation. Dining here made sense considering it was a block from the Homewood Suites where we were staying and the brand had name recognition with us.    I am no stranger to Bubba Gump. My patronage dates back to 2011 when we dined at the New Orleans location [out of business]. The visits continued with the Chicago location which I rated three stars in August 2012 [out of business], and several visits to the Las Vegas location which I rated four stars on January 15, 2013. What had me going back to Bubba Gump, with the exception of one time that I ordered the Pho Boy, is their Shrimper's Heaven. This has been my go-to dish here. However, as of this review, I have to say that is was my go-to dish.     We have all heard of shrinkflation. Apparently Bubba Gump is using a form of it that I call shrimpflation. The Shrimper's Heaven which is now truly the Shrimper's Pergatory has been reduced from four shrimp varieties to three. Unfortunately, for this seafood lover, they eliminated the grilled shrimp, leaving three varieties of fried shrimp in an underwhelming portion on a basket that looks like an overpriced Long John Silvers. This shrimpflation costs $23.49 plus taxes and cost of a beverage and tip. It features fried shrimp, coconut shrimp, tempura shrimp, fries, and sauces.    The grilled shrimp was not the only thing missing in action. The attention to the the theming was also nonexistent. There was a time when I went to a Bubba Gump where the server would explain that turning the table sign to say "Stop Forest Stop" meant it was time for a drink refill. Back a few years ago, the theming was so aggressive to the borderline of annoying. Back then, the server would sit by us for a few minutes asking Forest Gump trivia questions. It kind of made me want to switch the table sign to "Run Forest Run!" So, I could do without the aggressive theming. However, the shrimpflation is another story.    Despite the lack of the theme that made Bubba Gump a unique dining experience, our server was friendly and on top of her job. There were zero issues with cola refills.   When I left Bubba Gump, I was disappointed that they eliminated a quarter of the Shrimper's Heaven dish. If I return to a Bubba Gump, it will be time to try another dish. This shrimpflation which is not priced reasonably, does not make me say "Run Daniel Run..... back to a Bubba Gump."

Yelp
Good food and great service. Rose was the bartender on duty and let me say, she knows how to pore her drinks.

Zachary O.

Yelp
My wife and I both thought the food was great. We shared some clam chowder, and the crab legs. Definitely would come back. Our waitress was very friendly, and got everything out in a timely manner! And of course growing up watching this movie, you want to walk around and read every sign!

Yelp
I have heard many things about this place for years, but I have never actually eaten here until today. I am glad that I made the pit stop! I walked in and was greeted by warm and welcoming customer service, and seated promptly! I ordered a lemonade to drink & took my time browsing the menu (there were so many good items). My waitress highly recommended "Forest's seafood feast", so that is just what I ordered! It came with fried shrimp, fried haddock, and cole slaw + french fries!!! Mm mmm good! My food came out not long after in a hot skillet, and it also came with cocktail and tarter sauce. Upon my first bite I was in pure bliss! You could taste the New Orleans flavors, and the food was also fried to perfection! I was in paradise! The cole slaw added a nice fresh element and it was made perfectly, not soggy at all! But nice and crisp where you could taste the veggies! I really enjoyed myself here tonight, and I want to return to try more of the items on the menu. Cheers to good eats!

Yelp
Decided to give Bubba Gumps a try for dinner last night. The restaurant was semi busy, but I got seated at a booth. Prompt attention, ordered a drink and my dinner. The drink (Modelo Especial) arrived quickly. Soon followed my cup of clam chowder...piping hot and very tasty. My main entry arrived soon enough. Attention from my server was excellent, food arrived hot, and was tasty. I didn't finish everything...just too much food. Nice atmosphere, attentive staff, excellent food. It was perfect.

Yelp
Our friends came down to Denver downtown with their families and kids, 11 years later to relive their nostalgic reunion and celebrate a kid's birthday. It ended up being one of the bitter experiences we have ever had. The first waiter ( A guy with a ponytail) was very uninterested and cold. We asked if he was having a bad day to which we got another cold reply. When asked for a side order on "their menu" he said they don't have it. We felt very uncomfortable throughout the conversation and asked the management to change our waiter. After 45 minutes of waiting and with 4 very hungry and cranky kids we had another waitress who asked us to place our order again. Can you believe it? THE PREVIOUS GUY NEVER TOOK OUR ORDER !!! The second waitress was good though, she also confirmed the side order is something they offer. I later on saw the same guy being nice to other customers !! It then struck to me we were being RACIALLY DISCRIMINATED !! We the asked to speak to the management, who never came despite waiting for 10 mins. One of us somehow managed to have a conversation with the manager. They did try to make amends by cheering up our kid. But looking back, there is nothing but disappointment. This place needs to make some serious amends to train their employees to service better !! Racism !! seriously?? The ambience, the food and taste, nothing matters if there is pathetic service !

Yelp
I was under whelmed by this place. Definitely a cool concept but the food and service didn't deliver as expected.

Yelp
Server was very nice. Our meal was satisfying after walking a lot downtown and convention center.

Yelp
Food was not as expected came to the table warm like it was just heated in a microwave

Yelp
Really cool place! Especially if you're a movie fan. There was some interesting costumes & things from the movie on display. The food was ok. Not worth the price though. Parking is a little tricky but there's definitely cheap spots within walking distance. Just don't park in the lot directly next door bc it's $25/hour. We paid $3 and walked one block. Expect to spend around $30/person or so. We got 2 entrees, a cocktail & a soda for $70 before tip. Little pricey maybe, but this is definitely a tourist type spot downtown, so I guess it's to be expected.

Yelp
Food was really good but took hour & half to get. Poor waitress only one in our area, ran herself to death. Must be having staff shortages. Food worth waiting for if you have the tome.

Kevin L.

Yelp
Wow, where to start? This restaurant was a disaster and my experience was unpleasant to terrible from beginning to end. My friend chose this restaurant for his birthday dinner. Although we were seated promptly due to a prior reservation, we were ignored for about 15 minutes before our server came to greet us or take our order. Every aspect of our order was rushed and brought to us incorrectly wrong drinks, sides, etc...., (not a big deal usually, but indicative of no attention paid to detail). Then, when the meal finally came, (no one was coming to check on us in the interim- no utensils! This should be an easy fix- wrong! After several inquiries from several different staff members, we waited over 10 minutes for a table assistant to fling some utensils at us and walk away literally. Eventually, when confronted, the waiter half-heartedly apologized, but by that point, the damage was done. The service was poor to practically comical, the food was mediocre at best, and given the parking situation in the area, this restaurant should be avoided at all costs. I would have walked out if it weren't for my friend's birthday. Never again!

Yelp
The food could have been better. I ordered the salmon and my friend and husband had the Mahi-Mahi fish and they were dry. The service wasn't the best. However, my margarita was great! Overall okay.

Yelp
It's been 53 minutes since I ordered my lunch, we are a table of 4. We are STILL WAITING for our food!! Luckily we have time to wait, not there is NO WAY someone could come here for a normal lunch break. Waiter/Bartender came at the 40 minute mark and said he would check on our food. Update: took one hour for foos to arrive! Unacceptable!! Wasn't even busy!

Yelp
Our server was awesome, I think her name was Matthea? She was energetic, efficient, and knowledgeable. She made our visit very enjoyable. I have been to this location a few times in the past year, this time it was back to normal for us. The menu was bigger, the food was back to its flavorful self. I was so happy to have a great dining experience. We found street parking across the street from the convention center, so it was super easy to walk right in to the restaurant. I was also thrilled to take home my glass from my drink. For $10.00 you get a delicious coconut rum drink and a bubba Gump shaker!

Yelp
Monday July 8...Wow....we didn't even have a chance to eat...this was a horrible experience from cocktails upstairs to a table for our family downstairs! I am embarrassed for the managers, bartenders and wait staff. Don't know how to make drinks, or take drink orders...embarrassing. We didn't pick seafood in the middle of CO but someone in our party did. Sad...and made us pay for things we shouldn't have as we walked out!

Yelp
Recently, a review shared that Bubba Gump Shrimp is number 5 on a list of Southern restaurants in Denver, CO. I was born and raised in Louisiana and Bubba Gump Shrimp is not even close to being a Southern restaurant. I ate there once and became ill after eating at the restaurant. It was served lukewarm and lacked the proper spices. My mom made sure the boys knew how to cook before leaving home. Boy, I'm glad I learned. My Shrimp creole takes two days to make and those who have tasted give outstanding reviews of the fantastic dish. We have other restaurants in Denver, CO that have the true flavor of Sothern cooking.

Yelp
During a work trip to Denver recently, my wife and I decided to try this place out. Initially, we parked in the lot right next to the restaurant. When we saw it was $40 to park there, we changed our mind and parked in a garage for 1/4 of the price a few blocks away. They don't own the lot, I don't believe, but it means you had better expect a decent walk to try this place. We show up and it isn't very busy. It takes 2-e minutes before someone finally comes out. By then, someone else walks in behind us. There is a family of 3 sitting and waiting when we walked in. We assumes they were waiting for people. Apparently, this place is very short staffed, so even with a few people eating and it largely empty, they couldn't see us, the guy whom came in after us, and the people waiting were in front of us. We left outr name was told it would be an hour. My wife and I left and walked around for about 45 minutes before we were texted to return. We were taken upstairs. We ordered an appetizer sampler platter with a couple kinds of shrimp and some chips. I ordered clam chowder. My wife ordered grilled shrimp and far out dip. I never got my clam chowder. I was told they had to make more and it would take too long, so they took it off the bill. My wife liked her far out dip. The platter was okay, but none of the shrimp or the chips that came with it had much flavor. The sauces that came with it were awful. I think one was a bourbon bbq of some kind and was awful. The shining star was the grilled shrimp. It was smokey and tasty. It was so good that we ordered another round of the grilled shrimp to go with us. Our server was nice. I THINK his name was Shawn. It wasn't busy upstairs nor that busy downstairs. The food took about 10 minutes and it wasm't too over priced, but we also split the all american sampler; if we hadn't, it would have been $25-$30 for each entree we would have gotten. Sadly, with the exception of the grilled shrimp, the rest waa not as good as I was hoping for. My wife did like her dip, but the hish puppies and shrimp and chips on the platter lacked much seasoning or flavor. The sauces that came with it weren't great. Most items are too expensive, but the grilled shimp is reasonably price and awesome. They have a large restaurant, but can't serve but 1/3 of it, so expect to wait and expect to pay a lot for parking or walk in the cold air a ways to park for a better price.

Yelp
Currently dining here. It is so nasty! My steak was all fat, the shrimps are not fresh, very hard and hard to peel, the rice was hard, everything seems as though it has been sitting out for a long time. The best thing was the icee and they got that from a machine. Had to replace the shrimp with a burger... hopefully they don't mess that up. Horrible! The service is bad as well, except for the host. He was nice. I've been to a few different locations and this one, by far, is the worst!! They are lucky they have a good location. The manager said that the Raspberry Iced tea was good because he went to the back to try it. He also said he isn't big on drinking Iced tea and soda products.?? If that was the case, how can you say it's good? Basically nothing was their fault. He said the manufacturer made the iced tea nasty, made the rice dry, and the shrimps black, they just sell it. He has nothing to do with any of it... No accountability at all... smh.

Yelp
Mama always sad life was like a box of chocolates well I knew what to expect and it didn't disappoint been to the many different locations of this franchise now if it wasn't for the amazing customer service i would have gave this a mid review. I wish i knew our servers name but that was top tier. Friendly and overall just great time. Food was to be expected nothing different so thats a plus (I guess) the servers that day was awesome. Thanks

Yelp
Shrimp ordered was served raw. The service was good, but the food left a lot to be desired.

Yelp
First time here. They are downtown next to the Light Rail track. I came downtown by train, but there is plenty of street parking and garages nearby. They primarily serve shrimp but has plenty of seafood and turf options. I started with a tropical guava mojito. Very sweet and yummy. I got a cup of their Mama Blue Shrimp gumbo made with plenty of shrimp, white rice and andoille sausage ($6.99). Reminds me of New Orleans. Next I got a Strawberry salad with shrimp ($18.99). Very crunchy lettuce, fresh apple slices, candied pecans and of course strawberries. My main entree was the Bourbon St Mahi Mahi & shrimp ($24.99). Yes I love shrimp. The Mahi Mahi was a good size and cooked perfectly. It came with shrimp and mashed potatoes (sorry no photo). I got a Zero Proof lemonade with my dessert, Strawberry Shortcake ($10.99). Very decadent with lots of strawberries and whipped cream and a large scoop of vanilla ice cream. I was served by Cole, one of 2 servers on the ground floor. He was efficient and friendly. The restrooms are on the 2nd floor up a flight of stairs. They have an elevator. The 2nd floor is larger with a substantial bar and 2 meeting rooms. The larger of the 2 rooms had lockable doors, 10 tables and ping pong table in the middle. Nice modern music was being played but not too loud. Tips are shared. They are part of Landry's and have a great rewards program. I used my $25 birthday reward and $25 of credits from previous Landry's locations.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would. They charge for literally everything. We ordered an appetizer with chips and artichoke and they barely gave any chips. When we asked for more chips they told us they had to charge us. Finally, after an hour, our food came out cold and missing several items that our meals were supposed to come with. After speaking with the waiter he tells us they are out of the stuff we were supposed to get with our meals but tried to be sneaky and not tells us. After requesting to speak with the manager we are told "he's here but super busy.". AVOID THIS PLACE!

Yelp
I do see the negative reviews below but our dining experience here was wonderful. We went at 5:45p on a Saturday night before a Rockies game and were seated right away. The hostess and our waiter were both friendly and kind. My hubby and I ordered some sort of shrimp trio.. maybe Shrimper's Heaven?. It was delicious and plenty for food for the two of us to share. I liked the coconut shrimp best. It came with 3 dipping sauces which I enjoyed and took full advantage of. The drink selection is varietal and my entire group was happy with the drinks they ordered. The waiter checked in with us a few different times during our meal to make sure we were doing alright. If you're a shrimp fan and in the downtown area, check it out! We were not disappointed.
