Great Family atmosphere that still has the secluded space for a single lady like me that welcomes the quiet. Great indoor and outdoor seating for those that love to view of the water as the boats glide by. This outside vibe is exactly what I needed💗

The experience was average. The food was okay but nothing special, and honestly the soup was very basic and didn’t stand out. The atmosphere is nice, but the food itself was just average.

We had a great experience at Bubba Gump! The food was delicious, the ambience was fun and welcoming, and our server Rhonda was absolutely amazing! She went above and beyond to accommodate us and made sure we had everything we needed. Her friendly and attentive service truly made our visit special. We left happy and will definitely be back! My wife and kids enjoyed our time here.

The food was awesome!! Me and my girlfriend went to Kemah for the first time for my birthday and we found this place. I loveee their Jenny’s Salmon and Shrimp. Our server Ashley did an awesome job with everything. Shes the best!! Definitely returning next time. I will gladly say its an honor to be here eating this yummy food near the docks. Great ambience!!

Made a reservation for a group of 23 ppl 2 hrs prior and Rhonda was very accommodating. Trinity was our waitress and she did an amazing job. Food and drinks were great. Overall service was excellent!

Had a good experience here this past Saturday! We came at 12:30pm for lunch and sat on the covered patio next to the water. Our waitress (Melissa I think) was great; very kind, attentive, and fun too. The seafood meals were tasty and the chicken sandwich was pretty good too; I just wish the fries it came with were better (less mushy) and came with a dipping sauce (like the aioli on the burger, which was great). The atmosphere was wonderful and I appreciated that they had a gift shop, since the main reason we came to Kemah this weekend was for this restaurant.

Was really looking forward to our shrimp especially the shrimp tempura but it was undercooked. It wasn’t raw, but the batter was soft and chewy, almost white, not cooked golden and crisp as usual. The coconut shrimp was good, the fries were old and cold. Our server Jade was sweet and took care of us.

Well, the only thing I can say with a smile is that the food was really really good. For some reason people says that the food warms the soul, and that was our experiece. Specially is JADE is your waitress, she is very warm person, very attentively in your needs at the table. Suggestion for future customers, is you want to have a fantastic lunch, dinner, ask for JADE as your waitress. I can guarantee you that you will have a good experience.

I visited Kemah Boardwalk with my boyfriend and some of his family for a fun day out, and we decided to stop at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.--mostly for the nostalgia of Forrest Gump. The atmosphere definitely delivered on that classic movie charm, but the food experience fell just a bit short for me. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a full Forrest-Gump-themed gift shop. It's actually pretty entertaining--you can browse around, laugh at the movie references, and even pick up a few souvenirs while you wait. We chose to sit outside since the sun had just set and the weather was perfect. The deck overlooking the water was honestly the highlight--peaceful, breezy, and beautiful. I ordered the Paradise Tiki cocktail, and that was a win. Not too strong, not too sweet--just the right balance. Sweet drinks usually upset my stomach, so I'm picky, but this one was smooth and refreshing. Definitely worth trying at least once. For my entrée, I ordered the Shrimp New Orleans--grilled shrimp over rice with a Cajun-style sauce. The shrimp itself was cooked well: tender, not rubbery, nicely seasoned. Where it fell flat for me was the sauce. With my Cajun roots, I'm familiar with authentic Cajun flavors, and this just didn't hit the mark. It wasn't bad--it just wasn't that Cajun depth I was hoping for. Our service was solid. We actually had two servers rotating between us--one was our bartender, the other our main server--and they tag-teamed to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, we had a great time soaking in the Forrest Gump nostalgia and enjoying the evening with family. If you're a fan of the movie or just want the experience, I'd definitely recommend stopping by. But if you're a true Cajun food lover or seafood purist, just know the flavors may not fully satisfy your expectations. Still, it's worth visiting at least once for the vibes alone.

I arrived at the bar and had a seat the bartender didn't recognize me as a customer. About 5 minutes another bartender arrived and asked if I wanted anything. I left without ordering because the customer service was non existent. The restaurant was not crowded and the staff were not occupied with customers. It seems this is the normal operating system. I can't speak to the quality of their food because I didn't eat anything. However, if it is anything like their service I will do without. I do not recommend this restaurant! GN3

The service was very good. Our waitress was very polite and friendly. Although it was brought to our table in a timely manner, the food was just ok. We were in a hurry and I forgot to take pictures. However, the food was plated in an appealing manner. A trivia game was played across tables.

Food was average at best. Service was slow, even though the place wasn't busy. Our appetizer came out cold and bland, and while the replacement was much better, the overall meal still missed the mark. Not terrible, just nowhere near worth the price. The decor, movie memorabilia, and Kemah Boardwalk location were the highlights. Go for the experience but not so much for exceptional food.

First time at this restaurant and I would go back. Right off the bat we got greeted and sat within 10 mins. While we waited, we were entertained by the merchandise near the entrance. We chose to sit outside and enjoyed the view of the ocean. The drink menu has a decent selection. The food was delicious. The service was good and everyone we encountered was friendly. The only improvement would be the cleanliness of the bathroom.

Cool location but ... Service and atmosphere (5 stars): The restaurant has perfect location right by the boardwalk and water channel. You can sit by the window or on the balcony and enjoy passing by boats. The restaurant itself is clean, well organised and decorated. It definitely has a cool vibe. The staff were nice and friendly. Our waitress Jade was super friendly and attentive. Thank you. Food and drinks: Unfortunately, food wasn't the best. We started off with fried calamari. The calamari was too small and over-fried which caused for not much seafood left after cooking except for big crumbs of butter. The other plate with shrimp coated in sweet sauce wasn't too good either and we left half of them on the plate. We didn't want to order anything else after the starter. Pricing: $$ - majority of dishes $$$ - selected dishes like lobster tail or steak

I really wanted to enjoy this food because I was really hungry. Also, I hate writing AND reading bad reviews. Nobody likes it. Unfortunately the food was below average. I asked our server if any of the fish was fresh from the gulf. She said No, it's all flown in frozen. Womp womp. The Bang bang shrimp was ok. Not in a sauce but had sauce on it. It was falling to pieces and not much flavor. I ordered the shrimper's heaven. Whatever you order, do not order the tempura shrimp! It's a manufactured piece of shrimp. A machine forms each one and they taste like uncooked flour. Even ketchup couldn't fix it. The coconut shrimp was good but that is all you can taste... You have to LOVE coconut; Can't get any brininess from the shrimp. The regular fried shrimp was all I could eat. I tried my husband's fish n chips. It was ok, just tasted a bit doughy. I must say the mango mojito was very tasty and my husband liked his top shelf margarita that came with a side car of Cointreau. Our server forgot we were there and took the table next to us the things I asked for but we survived it. It was a nice view! I like being out on the water like that. It's always chill to sit and look at water.

On a typical day of a Saturday, we decided just to get out for a while and drive a little just me and the family. My daughter had been to this restaurant a few times with her friends a few years back and mentioned the food was elegant. I normally never write a food review to a restaurant whether it's good or bad ok. This one I decided to do a review. The only reason why I did give 1 star was for the waitress Isabell, she was sweet and frankly I was being kind because she said it was her 1st day working@ restaurant. So, I ordered the shrimp with maconi as an appetizer with a strawberry frozen margarita. My husband the shrimp and fish plater, which he decided he did not want because for the price the food that was sent out did not match ok. My daughter ordered the chicken tenders and fries, and she received chicken bites instead of the regular chicken strips. The manager came out and stated to my husband owe, ok we'll get you the chicken basket. So, you know, it was no remorse or Sir I sorry for confusion let me take something off your ticket or comp some of your ticket just not a care in the world nor did he want to credit back or even try to adjust our ticket. He also said owe the chicken tenders are fixed that way, we cut them into bites. Well, it should say it on your menu that it's chicken bites and not strips! This is totally unacceptable! The ride was nice from Houston, but when we are in Kemah again, we will never choose to eat at this restaurant again. The manager Mr. Lewis has an I don't care attitude. To be in the restaurant business dealing with customers all day you need to show a little humility and kindness!

The food was okay nothing special. I was expecting more because of the price though. The service was amazing and so welcoming. This place seems like a nice casual family friendly restaurant.

Not a bad day here for a Wednesday before the 4th of July. My daughter and I went to Kemah Boardwalk rides and then here to eat. Second time coming. Cold A/C, blows directly on top of table depending on where you sit in here, so we moved to another table. Anything with shrimp is a must. We both had grilled shrimp with fish, don't remember the plate entree names. Just in comparison to to last visit and overall value over other places with seafood...it does remind me of Joe's Crab Shack. The name brings you in. But there's not a whole lot shaking here on the menu, I think. Ambiance is well put together and the concept here too. My rating went down since last time here.

Ambiance... hostess obliged us to a booth only to find an AC duct blowing cold air on to our faces. We politely asked to be moved to a lower section table. She huffed, and said, "I can't hear you!" Loudly, to be overheard above the blaring music, I asked, "to be moved to a seat down below." She walked us over to a section completely full of dirty tables where we stood watching as the table was smeared clean. She threw the menus down and walked away. Service... our server arrived at our table holding dirty dishes, and asked if she could get us anything. Holding my tongue, I thought to myself how gross. She had the most pleasant smile and sincere service work ethic. As we ordered, I asked if the Mammas Fried Chicken was heavily battered. The server stated it was a chicken breast, very good, and thinly beer battered. So, I ordered it. My husband ordered the unsatisying frozen fried coconut shrimp, and my son had fried fish and chips. The Mammas Fried Chicken was a breast of chicken wounded flat and thinly battered on both sides that double the thin slice of chicken. The broccoli was gross, too. They were out of corn on the cob. The restroom attendant was also the hostess. After watching her clean trash cans, I thought to myself that I hope I don't get SICK. The menus that are sticky gave me a lot of visions.

From the time I entered our host Rhonda was attentive and all smiles, I wanted a window seat. She made it happen. It's anlwa good to be greeted by a smiling face. Our waitress Becky was also nice, and very friendl. Great atmospher, great food. I'll definitely be back!

Jade and Agnes were our servers and were so lovely. They were super attentive and provided excellent service as well as being so friendly! I'm not even kidding, probably two of the best servers I've ever had. The food was also really good! We got the garlic/ Cajun shrimp mix with the calamari as another app. Really good! You can't beat the views either. Right on the water but still air conditioned with this humid weather.

It's a funny business name in the center of a tourist destination. What is there to complain about? We kept it simple and ordered some shrimp and beer. It was everything I expected. We even had a spot to watch the boats go by. It's actually a fun place to visit and experience. I wasn't here to be critical of any of the food and wasnt disappointed. The beer net expectations and I got to keep the glass. Later I went home to watch forest gump. It was a magical day.

Several dozen choir students got food poisoning from eating at this restaurant on Thursday 11/6/25. When we called to info the restaurant they stated "we know" and hung up the phone. So the food is bad and the customer service is worse. Don't waste you money.

A restaurant specializing in shrimp, and a Landry's flagship restaurant I expect much more.... My wife had shrimp and salmon both were so over cooked the shrimp I'm sure previously frozen were hard like eraser hard and the salmon was a square white pice of fish the only saving grace was the sauce it had on it. I had 3 pounds of crawfish at $13. Dollars a pound that's over double the price in Houston and the crawfish we're very, very small. So disappointing. Our server was fantastic and the restaurant was clean as expected for any Landry's. However the Chefs should be embarrassed to have serve over cooked food especially shrimp.. Shrimp THAT IS YOUR specialty and poor quality crawfish. The only reason I gave them a 2 star was the service was good and the beer was cold. And we like Landry's...

Had lunch at Bubba Gumps today with a few friends. Very nice atmosphere and super wait staff. However, the food was lousy. I was surprised to find that Landry's also owned Bubba Gumps. I had calamari and the fried fish and chips. Food was over battered, overcooked, and did not have a favorable flavor, but tasted strongly as if it had been fried in very old cooking oil. My wife had the fried shrimp. It was equally horrible. Our fare did not look or taste fresh, but looked as if it came from a low-budget frozen boxed food supplier. The food is way overpriced for such poor quality. Had the food been tastier, better prepared, and fresh, I would have not felt the food was overpriced. If you want really good seafood, then Bubba Gumps is not for you either. You can see Landry's from Bubba Gumps. Hopefully, it is not the same poor quality we experienced at Bubba Gumps. I have eaten at Landry's in the Woodlands several times and it was always quite good.

The peel and shrimp was super tasty. The apps, calamari, chicken nuggets, and fried pickles were okay. I still like visiting this place for the shrimp and the great views. It's the perfect spot to view the water; watch boats and people watch people from the inside or outside seating. Pleasant and attentive wait staff.

Just a sad experience. Things have definitely changed a lot in 5 years since our last time at the boardwalk. Everything tasted frozen and completely bland. Our waitress was super nice and attentive.

Traveling from Dallas it was definitely worth coming to! The service was great our waiter, Diego was phenomenal and the food was on point. I had the All American Cheeseburger with a side of fries, I highly recommend. The Ambiance was Amazing. Of course we are coming back, can't wait!!

It's my Birthday month so Chris gave me a few choices for dinner before our cruise tomorrow. I picked Bubba Gump because of my love for seafood and my unforgettable experience at Bubba Gump in New York 6 six years ago. The restaurant was almost full at 5 pm but we were able to get a table immediately. The place was lively with all of the birthday celebrations going on. Our server was quick and very thoughtful. She checked on us a couple of times to see if there's anything we needed. We had calamari for appetizer. It was lightly battered and not greasy at all. Chris and I both had the Red Fish and Shrimp. It was delicious! The shrimps were huge and the fish was cooked perfectly. The sweet and sour taste of the pineapple pico tied the dish together.

Theme and ambiance was nice. If you like Forrest Gump you'll find the movie references to be fun and nostalgic. Service was okay. It felt fairly slow and it felt like we were forgotten at times. Food was subpar. We didn't finish it. The flavor was bland and the portion size was meager considering the hefty price. It was like 40 bucks for a tiny crab cluster and about 6 over cooked shrimp. Drinks were water down. If you can, just eat before you come to Kemah.

Please do not go to this restaurant oh my god... the service is great when u first walk in but about 30 mins in it becomes hell. They forgot a lot of our orders we were waiting for our food for over 2 hours. And the food wasn't worth the wait !!!

My wife and I wanted to get some crawfish in Kemah. The sign outside Bubba Gumps mentioned crawfish, so we ventured inside. To our dismay, Bubba Gumps was actually out of crawfish. They did, however, have a similar offering with shrimp: "Shrimpers net catch". We ordered half and half: garlic and Cajun. Awesome taste, will definitely order this next time! I also had a bowl of gumbo. Not much flavor and was a bit disappointing. We ordered some hush puppies, and these were the best hush puppies I have ever had. They felt a bit like taking the coating on coconut shrimp and applying it to a hush puppy. The wait staff was great. Yes, this is a bit touristy, but you get a good view of Galveston Bay with a little Forrest Gump trivia. Many different shrimp options on the menu. BG's also has a few good microbrews to offer. To top off an overall good meal, we get Landry's club points! Yes, we had a couple of bumps in the road, but do plan to return.

Let's get this straight: YES, this is a tourist trap. You are at the boardwalk. It is a gimmick. If you still find yourself here, it happens. Just roll with the tourist amusement of it. The service was a little slow, but nothing to be too concerned about. We ordered the garlic bread which was literally just a baguette sliced with butter and garlic. No dipping sauce. It should have come with the gumbo or salad. We also got the fried pimento cheese balls. These tasted odd. A bit off. Like maybe the oil needed to be changed. Meh. I ordered the shrimp heaven. The fries were cold. Like gross cold. But the best part was the coconut shrimp and the tempura shrimp. Next time I would just order the coconut shrimp. The sauce with it was like an orange marmalade. Yes it is a tourist trap. Yes, it is over priced. You go here for the amusement. Enjoy.

Everything was awesome! Meagan made this experience awesome. It's been years since our family had been to Bubbas and we are originally from Los Angeles. The energy in the environment was perfect so early in the AM! And the recommendations from Meagan were divine! I had the Maui and Shrimp. That will be on my mind until my next visit! I am so happy with my trip! Thank you Meagan for a memorable experience. People always tell you when service is bad, but never when it's great! She deserves the credit.

Yeah... the waitress was the only redeeming part of lunch today. She genuinely cared and seemed stressed at the kitchen's failure. Chowder was luke warm, my lady didn't get her lunch until after they were cleaning my dishes (I shared while we were waiting)... the manager followed up when we shared the feedback... the kitchen would need to up their game before I come back. This location has a captive audience because it's the on the Boardwalk... if they were near competitors they would be hurting.

Speedy service and great service from Jade. She was speedy and was well knowledgeable with the whole menu. She was able to get our water refill ASAP. Thank you so much Jade and the chefs in the back for my amazing meal. The ambiance was amazing with a variety of music from Katy Perry to Ariana Grande, such a vibe!
