Bubba's

This place was great! We wanted some burgers and stopped by this place we left Traverse City and we were glad we did. Got there before 5PM so I was able to get the $10 beer and burger deal, while my girlfriend got the burger w/ melted cheese on top and she was not disappointed. Food was amazing and the price was good, most definitely would comeback next time we are up!

Bubba's was better than I expected. Did have a bit of a wait but were there on lunch as that's expected. There's a large burger menu (which I hear are great) but also some amazing chicken sandwich options, which is what most of my group got. All were really good and so different. There's also a few pretty good sounding salad options as well. My kiddo didn't like the pretzel bites but they came with cheese and mustard sauce and another kid did like them. The tator tots and fries were good too.

Stopped in for lunch after shopping in TC. We’ve eaten here a few times before. Great food and nice atmosphere. Has a Reuben sandwich today. Corned beef was awesome and fries were exceptional. Highly recommend!

Nice spot in downtown Traverse City! Came on a Monday evening and was able to say right away. Staff was friendly and attentive. Got the olive burger and the burger patty was cooked and seasoned perfectly and juicy. Flavor was delicious and wasn't overcooked like many places. Atmosphere was nice, kinda a bar vibe, but not over the top. Overall very happy with dinner!

Y'all know me! I love food, and I like non-chain places.... Bubba's is a winner! No waiting if you sit at the counter, and about 20 minutes otherwise. Now bear in mind, it's a phenomenally gorgeous day, and Bubba's is right across the street from Lake Michigan, so the place was packed. That's not surprising, because the food here is wonderful! I wasn't in the mood for bread, but they DO offer a gluten-free bun. Refreshing! Try it. You'll like it!

This is the place for hamburgers. This place did not disappoint. Their burgers are so juicy and tasty. You have to try it to see what I'm talking about. Service was great and so is the atmosphere. I would come back here for another bite.

This place is an absolute gem! Hands down the best chicken sandwich and burgers I’ve ever had—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The drinks are top-notch, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. Huge shoutout to Paul, the bartender—he makes amazing drinks, remembers your favorites, and brings such great energy to the experience. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, strong drinks, and excellent service!

Loved loved loved this place! We were passing through and did a little google search. So glad we chose this place. Good tap selection. Our server Carl was awesome! And then came the burgers! Blew my socks off. Got the Haystack Burger and the Shrek Burger. Both so good. We stayed longer than we planned and weren’t mad about it 😂! Oh, you’ll do street side parking and may walk a bit but it’s not a big deal.

I was told this was a dive bar but no! It doesn't look like much from the outside but it's a great casual spot & we had a very fun time. This is a great local food & drink spot with great service & good food! I had the olive burger which I haven't had in ages!! Yum! And they have a free parking lot. Highly recommend!

Saturday morning visit, had a large group. Split us up in two groups not a big deal. Little bummed they out one table in very front corner and the other table in the back where it was empty. But hey, big group/ no biggie. Here is what we liked: *The homemade raspberry jam was amazing. * The big Bloody Mary is all fun! What could of been better: * The corn beef hash was just average. Chunks of corn beef and American fries, blah little unseasoned pieces of potato. * Breakfast muffin sandwich was incredibly greasy. * Big group, yes. The table in the other room had their food, eaten and was ready to go before we even had food. Was longer than expected, for breakfast. Just want impressed. Overall just a mediocre breakfast and would probably go to some of the other places we know are good before coming back.

4 STARS My friend and I were road tripped through MI with a stop at Mackinaw Island after Acme the next day. A few miles down the road from our Holiday Inn was an adorable street with tons of restaurants. We wanted to grab a bite before bed so we rushed out to Front Street and got in queue for Bubba's. They did not disappoint with their food. Pros: The food was amazing. I never eat a whole burger but I did here. I also ate all the pickle fries and if I can find them anywhere again I'll order them. I actually put them on my burger which made it even better. My friend was happy with her order which was the chicken tenders (they were massive) and she couldn't even finish them or her cherry shake! The restrooms were clean here as well. The service was pleasant. The restaurant was easy to find. Lots of sidewalk to walk on this street. Parking was a short block away. Cons: They were busy so service was a little slow as expected.

Stopped here for lunch after a work meeting in the area. Bartender (ashamed I didn't catch his name) was fantastic and provided amazing service. Cool atmosphere just off of the main drag. I got the steak frites ordered medium. They came out medium rare to rare which is fine that's why I ordered medium in case it's a little undercooked. Flavor was great with a good char on the steak and the compound butter was delicious. Don't sleep on these fries they could be a meal themself with the garlic aioli.

I would give 10 stars to Bubbas if I could. My daughter's high school soccer team was in the area and I was on a hunt for a place that could accommodate 30 people. I called Bubbas to ask and they said they for sure could! (No reservations though) After my daughter's soccer game we headed to Bubbas to put our name in. They were all aware that we were coming. So thankful for the person I talked to on the phone who relayed that info to everyone. Bubbas staff were so accommodating and kind and kept us updated on the table situation they were setting up for us. The entire team were seated together and the coaches/parents at their own table. We tried the Cajun fried pickles and they were so good! The perfect amount of spice and the tanginess of the pickles were such a great combo. The soccer team got all of their food in such great time. I can't believe how well the kitchen handled that many orders at once. Kudos to you! I had the Brisket Bahn MI sandwich and it was so flavorful! The depth of the flavors on the brisket were amazing. Loved the sauce on the sandwich as well, the perfect amount of heat. The cucumbers on the sandwich added a freshness and broke up the heaviness of the meat and bun. 10/10 The French fries were superb! They were so crispy but also potato-ey on the inside. Perfect amount of seasoning too! My husband had the Shrek burger and he was blown away. The fried mozzarella, pulled pork, crispy onion, etc just tied the whole burger together. He loved it! We loved the vibes of Bubbas. We sat in the front by all of the windows. Loved the bench seating because it fit so many of our girls. Thank you Bubba's! You made our experience so wonderful!

Order the shrek burger. It was good, the onions were crisp and had just the right amount of pulled pork and sauce. I did not care for the deep fried American cheese, I took it off. I also upgraded to tater tots and they were very good. Our server was nice but very fake. She was a little overwhelming and unnecessarily dramatic. I would eat here again.

Best deluxe hamburgers in Traverse City, cooked exactly as ordered. Bubba's gets busy so plan accordingly.

Excellent service with a genuine smile. We both chose bloody Mary's of course. I got spicy with "The Inferno" with Horseradish, Jalapeno, and Garlic Infused Vodka, Sriracha, House Made Bloody Mary Mix. Fantastic!! My friend had the traditional Bloody Mary and he liked it too. We shared the Irish egg rolls and they were fantastic. Go check them out

BUBBA'S! Loved this spot so much that we stopped in twice in three days. I noticed it while walking to and from our Airbnb which was nearby, and saw that they open pretty early on weekends so we stopped in to catch some Olympics on a Saturday at the bar. I had one of their iced coffee kickers (basically an iced Irish coffee) and a side of bacon. The iced coffee kicker was sooo good. Boozy, creamy, and delicious. Our bartender was so sweet and kind. We sat there for an hour or so, just hanging out watching all the good food come out. They have a delicious sounding breakfast menu, so we stopped in the next day for breakfast! We sat at a table this time and our server was awesome. Nate got the avo taco and a side of tots, and I got the Han's sandwich (sausage, cheese, scrambled egg on an English muffin) plus a fruit cup. The food was really delicious, great bar breakfast food. Plus a lot cheaper than Towne Square! I loved the sauce that came with the tots - I'm still not sure what it was, but it tasted like if a chipotle aioli had a baby with honey mustard. Sounds weird but it was delicious. I even put some on my sandwich! The tots were hot and perfectly seasoned, and I loved the sandwich. Nate really liked the avo taco too. If I lived nearby, this would be a go-to spot for me, and I'll definitely come back next time I'm in TC!

OMGosh....... we found an absolutely GREAT hamburger !!! As we travel around the USA, we are always happy to find a good one. So glad we stopped in for lunch. Walking into Bubbas, there was a line for lunch and we decided to sit at the bar. Melissa was our Bartender.... what a great smile & personality. Very attentive and made sure we had everything we asked for. We ordered the hamburger with fires..... temp to medium rare was perfect and the fries were very crispy with soft center. Nicely salted. This hamburger had everything on it..... good portion of meat with lettuce, pickles, onions, mayo, mustard and you seriously better not put it down !!! It was so juicy, that it would have fallen apart. Absolutely delicious!!! Highly recommended!!!

This is our second time here...feels like a spot where the locals go. Service was a bit slow, but nothing worth getting fear about as we heard some others do. We ordered the Hangover burrito and Bubba Hash. Both had great flavor. My husband said the burrito was savory with a good ratio of all of the ingredients, not too heavy. My hash was so flavorful. I thought it said white onions but it came out with red onions, which are my fave. It has a fun vibe...even at 8:20am people were getting beer and cocktails.

Onion rings - 5 stars. Burger - 4.5 stars. Salad - 3 stars. Burger is a true grilled, thick patty (no smash burgers for me, thank you very much). They were out of the grass fed option when I was there. There doesn't seem to be a truly simple burger with no frills on the menu otherwise but they happily modified another one for me. The Thai chicken salad was my attempt to get some greens but it didn't do it for me. Tenders looked amazing and crispy but they were dry and overcooked. The ginger dressing on the salad was extremely sweet - should have gotten that on the side... Street parking is free after 6pm. There was an hour or so wait for a table on a Sunday night but the bar had availability sooner. As one of the only open spots on a Sunday...not a bad option!

WOW! I have so many things to say about this place that it literally blows my mind. I have only been here twice with family, and all the times it has been AMAZING. We love the food and the atmosphere. The second time we were there we were sat in the back towards the bar and was worried that we were not going to get a lot of people watching in. However, everywhere in this restaurant has views to see. The staff were amazing and friendly, we got our food quick, overall 10/10. We are coming back EVERY TIME we are in Traverse city. Big shout out to Michael our waiter! Fantastic establishment, 10/10 again.

I came here with my son and daughter in law who absolutely love this place. One side of the menu is all drinks and I am not a drinker, so that is probably why it was no big deal to me but they were so excited to go back there. As far as breakfast, the options seemed very limited to me. I had a green acres breakfast burrito, which was about the only option without bacon (something I don't eat). It was okay but not the best breakfast I've ever had. My son had the hangover burrito which he really liked and my daughter in law had the chorizo hash which she really liked. For my grandson they ordered sides of avocado, potato, scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage. He is 8 months old and what didn't end up all over the floor he seemed to like!! They ordered 2 glasses of champagne and a brunch punch which they really enjoyed. So understand that the Review you are reading is being written by a non drinker that doesn't eat bacon

Waited WAY too long for our order. People who came in after us were served and almost finished their meal and we still didn't receive our food. What has happened to this restaurant?

Really tasty food! The shrek burger is wild - be hungry for this. Their substitute options are a bit ridiculous though - $9 for a grass-fed burger, $5 for a pretzel bun?? Otherwise, good vibes and good people.

Once again, Bubba's did not disappoint! We visited in a Monday afternoon with 6 kids and 3 adults in our party. Our waiter, Neal, was absolutely wonderful and patient with our crew, and the food was delicious! It's also a decent price - with tip, our bill came out to about $150!

Great stop in Traverse City. It has good burgers and drinks. It is my favorite burger place to stop at in TC. We enjoyed all the burgers we tried. The brisket Burger could have used more barbeque sauce in my opinion. I love the option of tater tots. The service is always good. I love the sports bar vibe with plenty of TV's to watch all the games on. I would definitely return.

Funny enough, we are regulars and Bubbas 33 (not affiliated with this Bubbas) and look where we end at a Bubbas. They are packed on Friday night and the staff is moving. We had a really good chicken sandwich. Get tap, good soup and they were kind enough to put the tiger game on for me.

Stopped in for a quick dinner to this burger place in Downtown Traverse City, Michigan. We were greeted quickly and seated in the back. The dining area is larger than is appears from the outside with tables and booth seating. There is seating at the bar as well. The old brick walls were loaded with beer taps on shelves as decor of all brands, shapes and sizes. The menu contained many burger options and you could also have any of those options as chicken or vegan. Our burgers were delicious and very large! I can't wait to visit again! Our waitress Sophia was the best! Parking on the street with meters.

Got takeout, food was okay. Pretzel bites were good and hot, salad with ranch was good, but the chicken tenders were smothered in sauce (doesn't specify this would be the case on the menu) and kind of inedible. Drinks didn't come with my take out order, despite being ordered. Took over an hour to get the order ready- place was moderately busy and gave an estimated time of 35 minutes until ready but it took longer than that. Hostess gave me one update but didn't make an effort to check in on my order status for a bit. Place looked fairly nice inside, burger/sports bar type spot. My experience left a lot to be desired.

We had the mac & cheese bites, avocado salad, and the steak frites everything was phenomenal. The different homemade sauces really made the meal. The food came out really quick and the waitress was nice.

Excellent! We were a party of 7, two children and five adults. We stopped in for a late lunch. This place was so good! Two of us had chicken sandwiches and 3 adults had burgers of varying kinds. Everyone enjoyed their meal. This place is great! The service was good too. The buffalo chicken dip was the best I've ever had. We will be back.

First of all"my man" Neal the server was at my table almost as soon as I walked in yet apologized for the wait. I told him I heard the haystack burger was the best and he assured me all the burgers were great. I went for the haystack with tots. They have a loaded tot with cheese, pulled pork and scallions that are an app but I wanted them with my meal instead of fries. He said that is not a normal thing but was able to make it happen anyway. Thanks for going the extra mile. The burger was perfect. This is not a smash burger but a thick juicy burger with plenty of toppings. The loaded tots had plenty of all the toppings. The sauce was a bit sweeter than I am used to but with the tots, it was great. Parking is curbside and you have to feed the meter. It takes credit cards and only charged me a dollar. Based on yelp reviews I drove 8 miles from my hotel to eat a burger in a bar. You should too.

Went for lunch and the food was delicious! Got an extra side of the lime dill ranch because it was delicious. Wish there was a little more cheese on the burger but still very tasty. Club was good! Great service and atmosphere!

This was a great place to stop. We had to wait as it was a bit busy and the waiting area is basically at the front door by the bar. The staff was diligently working and the bar was nearly full with patrons. The place was average in noise and was a casual atmosphere, so much people were playing a card game at their table while waiting for their food to arrive. The drinks were good and they have a wide variety of beverages to choose from. The prices for each drink were around $10-$12 with some slightly more and some slightly less. I had the brisket pulled pork sandwich and boy was it a filling one. The toppings were dried French onions and it just added to the already full flavor of the two meats. I would definitely recommend the sandwich. The fries were good as well with them being crispy but still flavorful and not dry. If you're in the area and want a good casual meal, this is one stop you will probably enjoy.

The food was so good yesterday, we returned for lunch today. The soup, burgers, chicken club sandwich, and shake were excellent! The service yesterday was great, but today's server was a grouch with no manners or personality. She even rolled her eyes when my husband asked for an extra plate to put his basket food on. She put a damper on our meal. However, we still tipped her well as you never know what someone is going through.

We went on Sunday afternoon and sat at the bar. Stephanie the bar tenders was very friendly and we felt welcomed. Met nice people at the bar too. We were watching sports and she put the games on the Tv's. I had the American burger wirh onion rings. Burger was huge and perfect. Onion rings were ok, I prefer beer battered. Hubby had the brisket sandwich, which he claimed was interesting and tasted awesome. The french fries are home made and delicious. Bubba is our number 1 for food and drink after 4 days in TC.

Came with my wife for dinner on a Saturday night up in TC! There was a pretty long wait for a few larger parties outside, but we were seated right away. The inside of the restaurant looks very much just like a typical bar! Tables and chairs probably get removed as it gets later and the kitchen closes! I ordered the Shrek burger, even though it was the most expensive burger on the menu but I was NOT disappointed! In the photo, you can't even see the fries because the burger was so huge! The fried cheese on the burger was definitely the best part. Each bite was super cheesy and melty-- probably one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! Cooked to order, came out fast, and great ranch dressing to dip fries in. 5 stars for Bubba's! We will definitely return.

2.5 - food was below average. Nothing crazy. Service was good. Our waitress was pretty nice. Ambience is very casual and gives off a bar vibe. They are supposed to be known for their burgers but i thought it was just OK.

I went to this restaurant with a group of 10 while visiting, and the service was terrible. We arrived first, but they seated people who came in after us. When I complained to the hostess, she just continued to dismiss us. Our table was ready with menus and silverware however she wasn't in a rush to seat us after waiting 45 mins. She continued to joke around with her coworkers right in front of us. Our server, a bearded guy, barely spoke to us. When it was time to pay, he handed us the cards and said, "I don't know whose is whose," then walked away. You can take a look at my profile pic to get a sense of the experience we had. It was really disappointing, and I won't be coming back. I definitely don't recommend this place.

Super juicy, not dry at all burger!! It had mushrooms along with fried onions on top. Super nice and kind servers. Would recommend this dish and place. 7.5/10

Service was top notch. The gentleman that took care of us went above and beyond to make small chat with our 4yr old daughter. Quick service and the food was fantastic. Pulled Pork Mac n cheese - yes please Deccent bourbon selection too! Accommodating for kids and the staff was equally friendly toward them. Only negative, because its so good, there is a wait. we waited 30+ minutes on a late Sunday.

My best friend and I are on our way to Mackinaw island for the fudge festival and decided to take a detour to visit Traverse city (she's never being here) and once we were there decided to find a place to eat THANK THE UNIVERSE we found Bubba's Burgers and Bar it was by far one of the coziest places we've been. First the hosted and the ambience when you enter to the place are so cozy and warm and we didn't have to wait more than 2 Ming to get seated; the services always on top of our table and the food tasty and the fight temperature. We love it so much and we hope we can get back!! Thanks for your service

Visiting from Texas my family & I (party of 7) attempted to eat at Bubbas bc the reviews were amazing . From the beginning it was not great. we were definitely seen but not acknowledged at all. not even an " I'll be right with you." We eventually approached a server . I'm not going to write a book , but the issue was RACISM , period. Definitely saw how other's who came in after us were greeted and treated. We walked out but definitely were not happy with how we were treated. I then called to speak to the manager and was hung up on. If you are any other color except WHITE don't waste your time. You'll be upset disappointed and shocked to know that people today can still be so ugly towards others for no good reason.

Good food, good service, good sun glasses. There is not much more that's needed to be said.

Wow! Probably one of the TOP THREE best burgers I've ever hand, hands down. AMAZING! Seasoned just right, and the Sweet Potato Tots and special dip! We ate until we were past full! We had a blood orange mule as well, and it was great! 10/10 for this place! A big shout out to the beautiful Melissa for being the perfect host, server, and bartender! She was awesome!

Came here for breakfast! Our waiter was extremely kind. My fiancé and I both got breakfast burritos. Both were amazing! We got the Hangover and the Wake-Up Cali burritos. We didn't get anything to drink but water but they did have breakfast cocktails!

Walked in and were seated right away! Server was nice and attentive!! Food was bomb. Definitely give the hangover burrito a try. The bloody Mary's are also super good!! Taylor our server was also super sweet and amazing!

The haystack burger was so yummy along with the sweet potato tater tots. I had a vodka cranberry or two ;) both were made well, not too much vodka but also not just cranberry juice. The atmosphere was chill, bar seating, tables and booths. Prices were average now a days. I believe I paid $16 for my burger and tots, maybe an up charge because of the tots. Service was great, my waiter was super friendly and was able to give my table some recommendations since this was all our first time here, and in traverse city.

Satisfied with the food, not necessarily with the service. We got here around 8 pm, and there are plenty of tables inside, but we got in a text line to wait for another 40 minutes! We turned back and asked if we can seat at the bar seats without waiting, and they said yes. I wish they would've told me this when trying to let me wait for 40 minutes. We got burgers and have complaints about the food. The server was friendly, but each step of service was very slow, wait to get the order taken, wait a long to get food, and wait to get the credit card back. They are probably understaffed. Though our experience would be improved a lot without so much waiting.

We all liked our food and our drinks. The service was excellent. This is an awesome place for kids. They are friendly and have a large well priced kids menu. The macaroni and cheese balls have ham in them and are deep fried so my kids were not thrilled. I tried the walleye basket and a side salad (huge salad) and loved it. Glad they serve such a tasty, regional fish. The burgers and bloody marys were a hit. We will be back to Bubbas! Get there early!

Arrived early, so just a few patrons inside. Greeted and sat quickly. Waitress was nice and served our drinks shortly after taking them. The biscuits and sausage gravy was on point, having a side of bacon, but on the extra crisp side, but that's ok just not my preference, still was a nice cut of bacon. Waffle was ok, but the whip cream and syrup dressed it well. Poutine was a good portion and didn't finished, but sausage gravy carried it right to our mouths! Thanks!
