Bubbie's Plant Burgers at Plant Food Lab

I randomly found this place while looking for something my friend could eat. She was very excited that it was plant based and kosher. I didn't know what to expect but I gave it a try. Nothing on the menu had meat but they had fake meat. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich and I was blown away! It was ridiculously delicious! I'm a meat eater and this tasted legit. I also order the onion rings on the side and those things were enormous, crunchy, and packed with flavor in each bite. I would absolutely go back if I'm in the Dupont area. Just FYI, the food was a bit pricey but that doesn't ever impact my reviews.

With every bite of these delicious burgers, goodness, I was instantly transported back to summers spent in my backyard, grilling burgers with friends. The thick and juicy patty, perfectly cooked, paired perfectly with the fresh and flavorful toppings and the zesty cheese! Each bite was a delicious reminder of those carefree days, making Bubbie's more than just a place for a meal – it's a taste of nostalgia and great memories. Every time I'm in DC I'll stop by 💪🏼 Next time I will also get a shake! I just didn't save any room this time 😫

Very unique takes on simple staples. They make their own patties as well as impossible. Cute small place up stairs, great service, self serve or app ordering but the food runner was a sweetheart and very helpful. My partner was able to find tons of gluten free options as well. This place was great!

Edited to add: my most recent visit was much quicker and smoother. Still great food and friendly service. Despite ordering ahead online, I waited more than 20 minutes past the stated time for my food to be ready. It appears that they were making one order at a time, but I do not know if it was a short-staffed night or whether this is generally an issue. Everything else was wonderful. Food was well made and delicious, avocado fries were simply battered and fried avocado which was brilliant. Vegan chicken sandwich was a very generous portion and delicious. And although it did not make up for the delay, the gentleman offered me a complimentary beverage when my food was finally ready, because of the wait, without me saying anything. Assuming that they improve the accuracy of pickup times, I will definitely return.

All I can say is WOW. The best vegan “fast food” you’ll find in this area!!!!!!!!!! I’m barreled. It’s so dang good. I’ve had: The original fried chicken sandwich The Buffalo bleu cheese chicken sandwich Fries and Parmesan garlic fries. Just. Amazing. You gotta stop by! Note: no indoor eating. Just pick up to go! I always order through their website.

Super impressed with this cozy little fast food vegan spot with plenty of gluten free options. Was most impressed with the onion rings, which were crispy and flavorful. The house made beet patty was also good and blended well in the burger. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

Great local place for a Vegan meal. I got one of their Burgers (impossible patties)!with "bacon", pickles, lettuce, and their house made sauces as well as salt and pepper fries and it was all delicious. My only critique (if you could call it that) was that they should have a small fry option. The amount of fries in the order was substantial! And way too much for one person, but they'd be perfect for sharing.

YES! I'm transitioning to vegan and am so happy to find Bubbie's one block from work. It's easy to control my eating from home, but to have this so close to the office is going to make this transition so much easier. I ordered online and picked it up. It was ready before the estimated time. Walked in, was greeted immediately by a young lady who was workin hard filling other orders. I was in and out in 3 minutes. Had the beet cheeseburger. My first time trying it, and I wasn't disappointed! Flavorful and filling. Although I wish that they opened a little earlier for breakfast, I can't wait to go back and try some other lunch menu items.
