How Bubble Tea Became a Complicated Symbol of Asian-American Identity | Eater

"A small shop located just off the author's college campus that quickly became a social hub and formative third place: a site for studying, board games, first dates, and casual hangs where familiar faces and staff made the space feel like a secret language and a source of belonging for new Asian-American friendships." - Jenny G. I came here with my bother and cousins and they absolutely loved it. The perfect place to escape the heat this summer. It was very clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our visit. They had such a blast and we will definitely be coming back. There are lots of fun areas to keep kids occupied through the full 2 hours. Overall a really great place, will recommend to my family

Such a cute and fun place! I love that is not too big but spacious enough to let the kids run around and be able to watch them! Super clean and organized. Staff is super nice and friendly! Definitely recommend!

What an awesome experience we had at Bubble Island! This is a very well run, well maintained establishment. My kids had such a great time exploring and playing with all of the items Bubble Island has to offer. The staff was super friendly and attentive to our every need. I had booked a birthday party and the staff went above and beyond to make sure it was something we would never forget! From the dancing bear (who was so energetic and kept the kids entertained) to the pizza (delicious!), it was a great time with no detail overlooked. As a parent, knowing you can let your kids explore at their own pace is priceless! We will be back! 😄🎉🫧

This place is very cute!! Had my daughter's 3rd birthday here and it was great! They did throw in a free balloon arch and took care of everything from setup to clean up. Would highly recommend. only feedback I have would be that the window for the party should include the use of the room for the full time. Can't wait to go back for open play!

Yesterday, we celebrated our child’s birthday party at Bubble Island Playground, and it was an amazing experience! The kids had so much fun playing, and everything was wonderfully organized. We sincerely appreciate the friendly and attentive staff for making the day so special. Thank you for your warm hospitality and excellent service!

This place is so adorable and a great value for two hours of play with your toddler or young child. Very interactive and stimulating! Adults can go on the slides and stuff too! It’s small but they pack so much into this space and there’s plenty of room for adults to sit and watch or engage in play which includes costumes, makeup, play shopping and cooking, filling a bottle with “cow’s milk” and then feeding a baby “cow”, slides, trampolines, floating balls and vacuum tubes for the balls, big screen features, and a “sand” area which are these tiny wooden blocks of “sand”, ride-on toys. Just packed full of fun. Parties are also hosted and the sweetest music playing the entire time. Can’t say enough. We will return again and again

Poor experience. Rude staff. Stupidly expensive. If you’re working around children you should be friendly and nice. All little battery powered cars were not working. Bubble farm is fake. You milk a cow to get tap water then feed a baby cow, you’d think there would be bubbles coming from the cow or something fun for little ones. Dress up clothes look dirty and smell. Can believe I’m saying but way too many balls in the ball pit. Kids can’t walk around in that. They sell socks for $3 but with no grips on the bottom, watched children slip and slid all over the slippery floors. I highly do not recommend

My three kids (6, 4, 2 yrs old) had a blast at Bubble Island. The staff is super friendly and the place is very clean. They also kept moving from one station to the next so they were constantly playing for 2 hours. I am definitely considering a monthly membership to bring them more often.

Yelp
Beware -- Do NOT book a party here. I recently attended a birthday party at this venue and was honestly shocked at how poorly everything was handled. The staff was completely inattentive to the children -- most of them looked confused and unsure about what to do, especially when it came to some of the play items like the ride-on cows. No one was there to guide or assist, and it was up to the parents to ask for help or figure it out themselves. Some older siblings were told they couldn't go into certain play areas, but adults were allowed in with their younger children, which made no sense. It felt inconsistent and unfair. The pizza was served right at the start, and then the kids went straight back to running around -- several ended up feeling sick because of this poor timing. When it was time for cake, the staff brought out a bubble machine that ended up covering the entire cake with bubbles before it was served. Extremely unappetizing and unhygienic. What shocked me the most was the way management handled the situation at the end. I overheard someone who seemed to be the owner or manager demanding that the hosts pay and then come back to "discuss" the tip amount -- basically implying the tip wasn't enough. Last I checked, tipping is optional and based on service... and frankly, from what I saw, I wouldn't have tipped at all. They said this in front of the host's guests, which made things extremely awkward and embarrassing. To top it off, when the party was ending, they played a song announcing that the "party is over" -- followed by a staff announcement basically telling everyone to leave. I was horrified for my friend, who had booked this place for her daughter's 1st birthday. Overall, this was one of the most uncomfortable and disappointing party experiences I've ever witnessed. Save yourself the headache and book elsewhere.

Yelp
Today was my first time here. The place was super cute. My daughter really enjoyed her time. I am giving the place 3 stars because Al thought they have costumes in the dress up/makeup area they don't have much variety in sizes. My daughter is a little on the taller side and all the costumes were extremely small and a lot of the girl dress were in bad shape. I think you should refresh that section and stock it with more sizes. Lastly, at one point my daughter was playing with a little girl and the child gave my daughter a blue balloon. I had no idea where it came from but my daughter was happy to have it. At some point the little girl brought my daughter a second ballon and again I had no idea where it came from so I allowed my daughter to play with it. On my way out after putting on our shoes and getting ready to leave. The women at the front ( not sure if she's a manager or the owner) pretend to wish us a good day, then she proceeded to bring up the balloon that my daughter had in her hands. She told me that If we came next time she couldn't have a balloon because it's for the birthday parties.... I said to her my daughter didn't take this ballon another child gave it to her. I offered to give the ballon back and she said no that's okay. My issue with the conversation was why weren't the ballon's in a secure place where children couldn't access them and if her or her staff was paying attention then the little girl wouldn't have been able to take not one not two but three ballon. I suggest discussing something like this with your staff versus bringing this to a parent in front of a small child. The balloon probably cost one cent because I am sure she paid wholesale prices.
