Bubble Waffle Lady

The Bubble Waffle Lady is a small shop located inside a food court inside of Boston's Chinatown, serving their namesake bubble waffles. The place itself is a bit cramped, and her stall is put in the way back of the food court. The bubble waffles are reasonably priced, though a bit on the softer side. The flavor is alright, its pretty similar to other bubble waffles I've had but it doesn't stand out.

Came here with my son, i like how we can see how she does the waffles. It’a kinda hot in there cause the place is small cause there is 4 restaurants in there. The place hard to find on map, you have to look up at the sign carefully. It said food court so you expect the place is really big but it’s really tiny. Just look up for the sign while walking.

I got a matcha bubble waffle at the Bubble waffle lady. It's inside a food court. They only accept cash. It's affordable. The waffle tastes pretty good and she makes it quick. The service was great. You can't dine inside though, unless you're eating at one of the other restaurants in the food court. We just got take away and ate it while exploring China town.

Born and raised in Boston, and attending JQ (an elementary school a few blocks down), the egg puff lady was my go-to snack growing up. This place has been a staple in my childhood to now. I feel like the egg puff lady is one of the last remaining remnants of what the Chinatown community had before gentrification took over and many of the community moved to Quincy. I love this place and I love that she is still thriving here. Tucked away in a little food court, I highly recommend her little stall. If you’re ever in the area, stop by and get a few egg puffs. Super delicious, especially during the cold months with the warm filling options she has to offer. I got a chocolate one and a red bean one. Total cost: $10.50. (She takes cash only!) I love eating it warm right away so, I apologize the photo of my egg puffs are half finished. It was just so delicious! Like many Asians, I don’t have a strong sweet tooth so these egg puffs are a perfect desert.

Stopped by around noon and tried their bubble waffle. At $4.50 each, the price is quite reasonable. The waffle was very soft and fluffy, though I personally prefer the outside to be a bit crispier. Maybe it’s just because I’m from Hong Kong and have pretty high standards when it comes to bubble waffles. That said, the owner was very friendly and provided great service. Definitely worth a try if you’re nearby!

Lovely place for bubble waffle. If you haven't tried it before, it's a regular waffle but better. Crispy on the edges and flat parts, chewy in the middle.

I've been coming to the waffle lady stand for decades, back when the original older waffle lady was the owner. The current younger waffle lady is friendlier and nicer though. The egg waffle here is the closest thing, that I have found anywhere, to what I grew up eating back in Hong Kong. It has a crispy outside and soft inside that's not overly sweet. It has decent "egginess" that most other commercialized places do not, which is the reason that most other egg waffles have a very pale yellow color. Sadly, it's even hard to find good egg waffles in Hong Kong these days. So, this waffle lady stand is a great place to enjoy this great street snack.

I got the raisin waffle. It's not that special; it just tastes like a waffle, but I give this place 5 stars for the low prices and fast service. It was a good waffle though: soft and moist on the inside and a little crunchy on the outside. The raisins give a nice sweetness and bit of tartness, and it's very convenient to eat on the go. It's big, too, so it's definitely worth the price + convenience. Make sure to bring cash.
