Born and raised in Boston, and attending JQ (an elementary school a few blocks down), the egg puff lady was my go-to snack growing up. This place has been a staple in my childhood to now. I feel like the egg puff lady is one of the last remaining remnants of what the Chinatown community had before gentrification took over and many of the community moved to Quincy. I love this place and I love that she is still thriving here. Tucked away in a little food court, I highly recommend her little stall.
If you’re ever in the area, stop by and get a few egg puffs. Super delicious, especially during the cold months with the warm filling options she has to offer. I got a chocolate one and a red bean one. Total cost: $10.50. (She takes cash only!) I love eating it warm right away so, I apologize the photo of my egg puffs are half finished. It was just so delicious! Like many Asians, I don’t have a strong sweet tooth so these egg puffs are a perfect desert.
