The 15 Best Bubble Teas In London

" Order: Mango And Passion Fruit Iced Tea With Lychee Boba This Soho spot has milk teas, fruit teas, and specials including a peachberry (white peach and raspberry) that we drank more than water at one point in our lives. You can mix any fruit flavours, and our go-to (as well as the aforementioned peachberry) is a mango and passion fruit fruit tea with tapioca and lychee boba. There are some tables inside, but it’s a little dark and dungeon-y, so we’d recommend getting your tea to go. Plus they’ve got other locations dotted around London (South Kensington, Shepherd’s Bush, Stratford, Kingston, and more)." - rianne shlebak

Bubbleology is my all-time favorite spot for bubble tea! I recently tried their Bobatella drink, and it was absolutely delicious. The staff here are so friendly, making the experience even better. They have a huge variety of flavors to choose from, including fun seasonal drinks that are always worth a try. Whether you’re a bubble tea enthusiast or just curious, this place never disappoints. Highly recommend stopping by!

Popped in for some bubble tea... tried the place around the corner previously and I much prefer the choices, flavours available and the customer service at Bubbleology Soho. I had the coffee with coffee jelly and tapioca... delicious and not options that I've been able to get elsewhere. Even the mango with strawberry was good... so a very happy daughter. They had some alcoholic options which I wasn't able to try but looked interesting and I hope to get a chance next time. I was impressed with their prices... same as outside London and not inflated at all, very reasonable 👍🏽 The place although limited with seating (10-15) was clean. The shop is narrow with a slight step so not wheelchair accessible but I'm sure the staff would pop out and assist if asked. In a great location so you'd probably not want to sit long... I just needed a quick rest and then we were off. 😊

I came here with a friend for a quick drink. At the time we went there the place was almost closed so no tables were available and but the staff was really friendly and made us the drink we requested which was great and unexpected. I know how difficult these jobs in hospitality can be and you can see that she was tired but she did her best to serve up and give us a great customer service. The only thing I'd say is that the place needs a bit more atmosphere as it is quite small, there are only about 2 tables and the music could be a lot better. Nevertheless, the drink was great and I was able to try a new type of bubble tea which is great.

Google
We went inside for a late night bubble tea and were not disappointed. Very sweet tea and fast service. Nice interior with places to sit. Prices are okay. There are a nice amount of flavours to choose from. As we ordered, a man got arrested right in front of the shop, a whole police team showed up and it got rough. This did not affect the service at all! The guy working behind the bar stayed very kind and chill, which comforted me.

Google
One of the worst bubble teas myself and my partner have ever had. Mine was made with a fizzy drink out of a can - not the sort of quality I would expect. Both our drinks were so overly sweet we couldn't drink them and threw them after only managing a few sips. Would never go back

Google
I had an amazing experience at Bubbleology, thanks to Subael! They were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, helping me choose the perfect bubble tea. I went with the strawberries and mint, and it was delicious! Subael’s exceptional service and welcoming demeanor made my visit truly enjoyable. Highly recommend visiting!

Google
The bubble tea itself tasted good but I ordered the fizzy strawberry and mint tea which I use to have it closed for takeaway but when I ordered it yesterday they said they don’t do that anymore. As I wanted it for someone else and need to keep it safe to arrive home, I ordered it for take away and when I got it it was with open led which means I cannot take it home and need to drink it right away. There was no sign mention it cannot be fully closed and the staff didn’t mentioned that as well when I ordered and say I wanted it for take away. Staff wasn’t helpful at all when I explained that to them and I didn’t like the customer service in this branch.

Google
Amazing bubble tea per usual, I always come here when visiting London. Went on Saturday afternoon, not many people we also had place to sit down. The price is great for London, we got a large which was £4.59 with 2 toppings. Left: raspberry with tapioca and green apple popping balls Right: white peach with tapioca and lychee popping balls

Yelp
I stopped by here on my way to a restaurant for dinner and I couldn't resist getting bubble tea with biscoff in it! Very grateful to the guy working behind the counter for getting my tea prepared so quickly.

Yelp
Delicious taro milk tea here. We loved that they offered both organic soy milk and oat milk as milk options, and they have so many options for different types of boba or jellies! I'd love to come back and try more.

Yelp
Was hesitant with the reviews but oof I loved this place! First off, super cute inside! Service was really friendly and helpful (they offer to make a hole in your lid because it's paper straws). I ordered the rose milk tea with tapioca pearls and found it to be so refreshing, perfect sweetness and a great, light rose flavor! Would happily come back whenever in London (:

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place after exploring the British Museum right across the street. We tried the Mango/Passionfruit tea with boba pearls and it was overly sweet but still had good flavor. I think the ratio from tea to water just needed to be adjusted. The staff was super welcoming and helpful which I loved. They have limited seating inside the shop but there are some spots to sit outside. I would give their other flavors a try since they do offer a huge menu of varieties.

Roland K.

Yelp
I got the strawberry mint bubble fizz and it was very good. The services was quick and I was in an out in about 2 minutes, on top of that the person behind the counter was kind and helpful. The shop has a nice aesthetic and would be a great place to just relax and do some work. Overall I great store I would visit again if I was in the area.

Yelp
I love bubble tea and couldn't wait to check out this place. I was really surprised that I could barely taste the booze in the piña colada. There was limited seating, maybe enough for 10. I thought the décor was really cute, with chemical structures on the walls and hanging colored beaker lights. I would definitely come back here again and try out their other flavors!
google avatar

Yelp
We tried the electrifying yuzu, the pinkberry and the nojito. They all tasted great and weren't overly sweet. There are also alcoholic bubble teas on the menu. The service was great. The girls were friendly and nice. We didn't know that we can't shake the electrifying yuzu because of all the gaz in it and the drink exploded. The staff came to clean it up right away and didn't make us feel bad about it. The location is near chinatown and soho. The place is small but clean.

Yelp
I made it for the Get Bubbly @ Bubbleology and when I was planning on being back in the city this bank holiday weekend, I knew I had to stop by for another cup of crack. I mean, bubble tea! You can't miss the place on Rupert Street. Black paint with lots of rainbow colors. Because they serve the whole gamut of bubble teas here. Having sampled so many last week, I knew which one I wanted today. Almond! Delicious with a good sampling of tapioca balls, ice cubes and great almond flavor. Very cooling on a warm day. The inside of the place was an oven - they're still working on air conditioning or some sort of cross breeze. So I sat outside at one of the folding tables to enjoy my bubble deliciousness. The same staff, looking like they were a little exhausted by the heat and the crowds. The place was packed and quite toasty even with four fans running. It was funny to see the clean white lab coats they were wearing last week are now spotted with bubble tea colors. Assad was certainly enjoying himself and it was cool to see that he remembered me from the other day.

Yelp
I saw this place get famous probably in a Tastemade video for its alcoholic boba. I'm a huge boba-holic so when I was in London, this place was definitely on my to-eat list. I ordered the Soho Sling which was a rose lychee fruit tea with some gin. It was very fruity and light, the rose wasn't overpowering it was very aromatic! I liked the tea very much with my boba. Maybe it was a bad night, but service wasn't the friendliest and this place is super cramped. I wouldn't recommend chilling here with friends, definitely get to-go.
google avatar

Michele M.

Yelp
The location was very convenient and right next to the theatres. It was a small shop and super cute. There were glass panels with various equations and chemistry Erlenmeyer flasks hanging for decorations. For the drink, I tried the Oreo madness and it was a bit powdery. I couldn't taste the alcohol at all so it tasted like normal bubble tea. The boba itself was very chewy and soft. The drink overall was sweet but nothing special.
google avatar

Sophia T.

Yelp
I came to this place because I was craving coconut milk tea and this was the only place that had it. They have a variety of special drinks that you won't see anywhere else. They also have a few where they put shots in the drink, but you have to stay inside to drink it. Keep in mind, the place is very small and there aren't many seats, so we opted out of the cocktails. I ordered the coconut milk tea that I came here specifically for, but the taste wasn't great. I could barely taste the coconut and the tea. It was super watered down and didn't taste like authentic milk tea at all. My boyfriend got the Banoffee Pie and it was way too sweet and the banana flavor was too strong. He ended up drinking a quarter of the drink and then throwing it away.
google avatar

Kerry M.

Yelp
Rather cute place! Very small, but it's a nice and chill area. The bubble tea was interesting, not to my taste(Coffee girl) but my friend who showed me the place recommends it to tea lovers, as they often pop in there for their daily and fruity fix! :) The tea is strong and the fruit was 'there', but for £3/4 it's not too bad. Something new to try!
google avatar

Yelp
The "mad scientist" / laboratory concept is fresh, fun, and unique - I don't think I've ever stumbled upon a bubble tea place like this in the US. As a result, it can be a little kitschy - the teas here are not the most authentic, but the drinks are nonetheless refreshing and good. I am also impressed with their boba quality - plump, chewy, with a great mouthfeel. When I was in London, I came here 3-4 times during my two week stay! Portions are large, and sugar ratios are very true to taste (I recommend ordering your drink with 30-50% sugar). A lot of bubble tea places are careless with the amount of sugar they add to the drink even if you request a certain percentage, but Bubbleology was always consistent with the sugar levels. I wasn't adventurous with my drink orders, so I got the standard jasmine milk tea flavor, but the fruit teas and carbonated teas with the colorful fruit bobas look like fun options to try! Regarding the jasmine milk tea, really good balance between the creamer and tea; the creamer didn't have a strange milky aftertaste. I would recommend Chatime for a more authentic Taiwanese / Chinese bubble tea experience and for a more prominent tea flavor, but would recommend stopping by Bubbleology if you are craving boba and are in the area! Finally, you should plan on taking your drink to go, as the seating area was limited.
google avatar

Krista G.

Yelp
The boba options are endless here! This boba shop is cute, quaint and delicious! The workers were a little difficult to understand as English wasn't their first language and it can make it difficult if it's your first time. Nevertheless, they were friendly and tried to be as helpful as possible. I would highly recommend popping by!
google avatar

Nikki L.

Yelp
I didn't like the plain assam milk tea with boba too much...how do I explain? It had a thick creamer and artificial sweet flavor that was a bit cloying. The boba balls were okay but I just didn't like the taste of the milk tea.
google avatar

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I love bubble tea! I wish they had this back in the U.S.!!They also have options for alcoholic tea, but you have to drink that in the restaurant. I got the peach berry with lychee boba. The drinks my boyfriend and I got were both pretty sweet. You should ask if they have less sweet options if you don't like that type of thing. I really enjoy that they have different flavors of boba, AMAZING. I only went to this place because we were passing by on our way back home. I wish I was able to visit this place more to get a chance to try out their different flavor combinations. I wouldn't pass this place up if you have the chance.
google avatar

Bridget K.

Yelp
Favorite bubble tea place in London! They have a huge menu and really cool teas! My standby is Mango tea with tapioca and strawberry bobas! It's so fruity and good! They have wild flavors like Oreo and chocolate though! I've never tried them. My friend got coconut and loved it as well! Amazing bubble tea!!!
google avatar

Yelp
What a cool name! A cool concept...but bubble tea here just kinda sucks. Compared to the USA or Asia, omg, what is this?! I ordered the large taro bubble tea for 3.75, it tasted awful, tastes just like powder...I love how the shop looks, just like a chemistry lab! I think it'd be a cool place to hang around, but the taro was just awful. There was actually an influx of customers when I arrived.. Maybe I'll try the regular milk tea or a fruit one next time? If i ever come back.
google avatar

Kathy P.

Yelp
The staffs were really nice! I ordered the electric yuzu which is a carbonated bubble tea... Remember to NOT shake...if not it will explode. Yes. It happened to me...
google avatar

Vanessa S.

Yelp
Was looking for a bubble tea place since I had the craving for it, and bubbleology hit the spot! The cafe also looks like a science lab which makes it more fun.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
If this is your first time having bubble tea, this might blow your effing mind. Else, it's just another ordinary bubble tea jawn. It is on the pricey side, lots of flavor to choice from, not the traditional kind. They make them with powder flavoring and depending on your personal preference, you might or might not like it. One good thing about it is that you can ask for half sweeten. This place is the first store solely about and claimed to be expertized in bubble tea from what I have seen, which do deserve some props. Probably not going back any time soon. The End.
google avatar

Neal E.

Yelp
Finally Bubble tea in London! This is the place to try if you want to experience this eclectic drink. Pro tip: make sure to ask for half-ice or no-ice as they tend to add a lot to the drink, which can be a bit disappointing.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in London, I like to sample a bit of east Asian cuisine here and there, and that often involves a stop for some bubble tea. Actually, to be more accurate, I don't like the tapioca bubbles... but I love some milk tea :) I love the idea of Bubbleology... it is set up to look like a chemistry lab, but for bubble tea. The staff even wear lab coats, which is really cool. Being the boring bubble tea fan that I am, I ordered an Assam milk tea. I was a bit disappointed in the tea though. I'm not certain, but I think the milk may actually be from a powder mixture. Either that, or the tea is from a powder mixture, or both. While I mildly enjoyed the taste, I was left with a grainy texture in my mouth. Also, when we went in to Bubbleology, there were at least two staff. But by the time we ordered our drinks, the second staff member was gone... for about 10 minutes. I didn't officially time it, but it took 10-15 minutes to have our drinks made, and this was because there was only one person making the drinks. Honestly, I felt bad for the girl who was left alone to make drinks for about 10 people while her team mate took a badly timed break. Not cool for her, or any of the other customers. There are loads of other bubble tea places in London to check out. I definitely won't be going back to this one. Loads of potential, but doesn't quite hit the mark.
google avatar

Oliver S.

Yelp
I got recommended this place by some of my friends. I went there and liked the whole concept of it being like a 'lab' for bubble tea. I have to disagree with another reviewer on here, 'exploding boba' is nothing new. Nearly all bubble tea shops use it. I will say this, the price is not cheap for what you get, but you can guarantee that it will be a decent quality. Taro is always a firm favourite.
google avatar

Annabelle G.

Yelp
It was raining in London (who would've thought), but my world was lit up in colours by their rose milk bubble tea!! The flavour, the jelly...best bubble tea I've ever had!
google avatar

Saya Y.

Yelp
Quick service and quality boba at a reasonable price. Honeydew boba was like a stroll down memory lane, reminded me of my childhood. The sweetness of the Honeydew and the texture of the boba worked so perfectly. Will definitely come back to try the other flavors. I also love the set up inside of the store. Boba + Chemistry : you can't go wrong!
google avatar

Gautam G.

Yelp
I agree with many of the other reviewers here: the boba pearls themselves here are nothing special (not bad, but no better than average.) The actual selection of drinks is impressive, and really, I came here to try the alcoholic boba drinks. Plus, it had been 4 days since my last boba drink and I was dying. I got the Oreo Madness and tried my sister's Soho Sling, both with boba. Both drinks tasted awesome, though were undoubtedly much sweeter than I'd usually get a tea drink. The alcohol was a little light, though considering it's much cheaper than any cocktail you'd find at a bar, that's to be expected. Don't drink one of these cocktails expecting to get a buzz or anything. Price was reasonable for an alcoholic boba cocktail. Cool decor and super friendly staff--I'd be back to try some of the other menu options.

Yelp
I was really surprised to see a bubble tea place in England. The inside is dark but sleek, almost fashionable. Some seating inside, however, we took ours to go. I had mango with pearls for 2. Prices and customer service was good. I am not sure what Bubbleology is, however, I want to be the in this course.
google avatar

Umeet S.

Yelp
There's nothing special about the tea itself here, but I do think it's awesome that they have so many flavors of popping boba to add to your drink. Popping boba in tea isn't something I've seen in the US, but we could definitely take a tip from Bubbleology. Also, super cute chemistry/lab theme going on here in terms of decor. I recommend the passionfruit popping boba, in whatever tea you fancy.
google avatar

Yelp
Sometimes, on Yelp, it's nice to be a trendsetter and grab that FTR for a new business. However, at other times, one has to bow to peer pressure and head to a hotspot that fellow Yelpers are raving about. Unfortunately, I missed the Elite event held at newly-opened Bubbleology as I was busy that night but it has already racked up an impressive number of reviews. Bubble tea isn't strictly new to London, being available in quite a few Chinese restaurant and cafes in nearby Chinatown. However, Bubbleology is taking the concept a step further with theming and bringing new ideas like exploding boba as an option. They have put some funky physics apparatus in the window with glass tubing pushing bubbles through coloured liquids in glass jars. Inside, the menu is available on a large blackboard on the wall behind the counter - excellent for people not familiar with the bubble tea concept. I do hate it when you can't see what is available - step forward, many a gelato shop where anything like a tiny crowd render it impossible to see what flavours are available and I've actually left because I couldn't see and make my mind up. You can get either flavoured fruit tea or milk tea, which all come with the signature chewy boba. You can add extra toppings like jelly or the fun exploding boba. I liked the passion fruit and honeydew flavours of fruit tea - it's certainly good boba but having been to California on holiday, it's not the best I've had. Bubbleology is certainly taking a brave step opening on Rupert St in Soho, in the face of fierce competition for customers looking for ways to cool down - within 2 minutes walk, you can get froyo at Snog, mango desserts at MADD and gelato at Scoop and Gelupo. As a consumer, I like more choice, so I wish them every success

Yelp
I couldn't attend the Get bubble @ Bubbleology elite event for one special reason... it was my mum's bday. They announced that the store launched today and after reading many fantastic reviews on yelp I made sure that it was the first thing on my 'things to-do list after work'. Great choice for location: Soho = happy town! Yes! It stands out amongst the other shops on Rupert St, you can see the company's vibrant colourful logo that screams out BUBBLEOLOGY. I love their 'science lab'' style decor...totally FIERCE, staff dressed in white coats and most of all the selection of YUMMY BUBBLE Tea's with the pearls (which I told my lovely friend's niece that the pearls had special powers!). Staff were friendly and the owner was amazing! There was abit of a cue so he gave us free complimentary macaroon for waiting patiently which was sweet. Fantastic place! Bubbleology = Amazing!
google avatar

Kay S.

Yelp
Bubbleology had the official opening last night and I was one of the lucky people who attended. It was great to talk to the founder, Assad and he was really charming and enthusiastic. The predominant drink is bubble tea here but they also serve coffee as well as a whole variety selections of cakes and sweets. I tried the Lemon cake which was light with a sharp tang. Samples of bubble teas were making the rounds and these were a few that I've tried. Green apple flavour was fruity and sweet. Lychee was refreshing and the tea was more prominent in this. If you are an almond fan, go for the almond, otherwise its distinctive taste might be too much for some. Mango was pleasantly creamy in a fruity way which mango lovers would love. Most importantly, how were the pearls? The pearls served here are the tiny versions which have the QQ or chewy texture. It was exactly like the bubble teas that I had in Taipei. The whole decor was fun and funky. It was a very vibrant and youthful vibe reminiscent of the hangout places in Taiwan but with a Soho vibe. It's great to finally find a place that is dedicated to and serves great bubble tea. I know where i will be hanging out often, Just hope that I can find a seat when I'm there.

Yelp
Really cool pity there's no toilets. Can't stay too long. Got some nice cheese popcorn, cookies and cream tapioca thing and a passion fruit cucumber one with mango popping boba. Loved everything. Just get some toilets please.

Yelp
I've tried lots of bubble tea in London. Some of these bubble teas have been much better than others. Sometimes a bubble-tea purveyor will get the boba just right and then fill my cup up with these delicious bobas along with crushed ice (what the hell, seriously?). Sometimes a bubble-tea purveyor will give me a milky tea so gloriously tasty but then sully it with poor-quality boba. Sometimes a bubble-tea purveyor will give me both bad tea and bad boba. Bubbleology, however, has blinded me with its bubble-tea science. It prides itself in following a strict bubble-tea-making process to provide consistently delicious results. So far, so jiggly. Since I'm a lover of bubble tea and since it's been warm and wonderful in the capital of late, I've been to Bubbleology a fair few times already. My first visit, I was a convert. The bubble-tea-making wasn't so much a science as it was an art! My subsequent visits, while not disappointing, witnessed rushed preparation and too much ice being put into my cups, leaving some precious nectar of life remaining in the bubble-tea shaker cup instead of in my stomach. But the boba is consistently perfect, and the delicious-to-cost ratio is good. And, um, Monmouth Coffee bubble tea? Get in.
google avatar

Freya C.

Yelp
Over-priced. 25 minute wait. REALLY?! Severely bubble-challenged staff. Coconut order confused with vanilla. TWICE. Almond tea tasted like water. GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER BUBBLEOLOGY! I'm cranky, it would take a lot for me to go back.
google avatar

Erin B.

Yelp
The fact that I've been here twice in two days should say a lot. Today I brought some friends with me who had never experienced the adventure that is Taiwanese bubble tea before. Needless to say I knew after yesterday's visit this is the only place in London I'll be bringing newbies to try their first bubble tea. Taro was a two thumbs up, as was the passion fruit. The green apple and the jasmine were also lovely. I was really pleased and surprised by the jasmine actually, and it will be a favourite, for sure. I'd love to be able to select the sweetness of the drink, and how much ice goes in, and from their facebook status I see they are working on developing that! It is great they are listening to their customers! Two suggestions: They totally need a loyalty card, as I will be here all the time for a chewy, tasty treat! I would LOVE to be able to buy a reusable cup to bring back again and again. I feel guilty throwing away all that plastic.

Yelp
Had a craving for pearl tea (aka bubble tea, boba tea) and how could I resist a place named "Bubbleology"? They actually make bubble tea look rather hip and cool (vs the Asian cutesy places that attract teenagers in SF area) and have a fun-looking store in Soho. They do try hard and live up to their theme of lab nerds meet bubble tea - they have funny appartus looking things on the wall and all the workers were lab jackets with "bubbleology" in the back. The jasmine milk tea and pearls were pretty decent for England (since I'm spoiled by good pearl tea in the San Francisco area). Hit the spot. Bottom line: Bubble tea meets MIT. Fun place to check out and to try bubble tea if you've never had it.

Yelp
The first time I had the bubble tea at the MTO event I thought 'Wow this is good' not realising that it's actually quite addictive!! It makes me wonder what are in those exploding balls :D Having just finished a meal at Nandos I was craving a bubble tea and it was all I could think about, the different flavours mmm so off I went to the Soho branch. I don't know why, but every time I step in I expect the staff to be a bit wacky, but it seems to not be the case, I tried making conversation with them, there was one guy who chatted a little, but they weren't overly friendly or crazy, which is a shame. I think I am too much of a romantic that when I enter a restaurant/bar etc I want to fall in love with it lol. In saying that my relationship with Bubbleology is a healthy one so far, we see each other about once a week when I am in the area ;) If you haven't ever tried bubble tea, definitely stop in, it's like no other tea shop you have been before. There isn't much seating so you may need to take away. I ordered a Jasmine tea with popping passion fruit (I found out that they don't actually use milk, it's a non dairy creamer) I ordered a large, and at first I was so excited by the flavour but about half way down it just ended up feeling a bit much. I prefer the non milky ones for sure.
google avatar

Jamie K.

Yelp
I was craving boba so much one day after being in London for 2 months. Coming from Los Angeles, food in London is quite a disappointment. Even with small desserts (except scones and cakes). The boba here was way too soft and not chewy enough. The milk tea drinks itself was delicious. But if you're a fan of boba, this is not very good. My friends and I ordered the matcha, jasmine, and assam milk tea. I also ordered the lychee jelly "pop" boba...not worth the extra 50 pence. Save your money and just get milk tea. The decor was cute, but overall it was just not up to par as boba back in America.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
I was more impressed with it the second time I went. The first time, I had almond tea with regular boba... which was good, but nothing incredible. The second time, I had coconut tea with regular boba, and I really liked it a lot. No idea why the difference, maybe I was just thirstier the second time? This is only 1 of 2 bubble tea places I've thus far tried in London, but I would certainly come back here whenever I was in the neighborhood. If for nothing else, but the sweet, satisfying sensation of jamming the straw through the plastic lid.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
I have to be honest. When I first went here for the Yelp Elite Event I was blown away by the teas. Or maybe it was the influence of the champagne...but I'm pretty sure the teas were influential too. I've recently visited it again after another Yelp event nearby. The mango tea was excellent, properly flavoured without the grittiness of some powders or artificial flavouring. The bubbleologist was also extremely friendly and patient with my slightly drunk self (it was a Yelp event...this shouldn't be surprising). What ruined the experience for me was the addition of jellies to the boba. I like jelly...and I like boba...but when both are present it's just too much chewiness for one person to handle. So for next time, remember to specify jelly instead of boba otherwise you will be chewing away for days before finishing your tea!
google avatar

Heather D.

Yelp
Nice to see that one of my favourite tasty treats is now going "mainstream" in the UK. I admit California boba is pretty fantastic, and as this is fairly new here all the kinks should be out soon. I found Bubbleology clean, bright, interesting advertising, with friendly staff. Having had a trusted friend of jasmine milk tea I can say it was just as delicious, if not a tad sweet. Price was a bit dear considering it is using cheap ingredients... but obviously there is a need to pay the Soho rent and make a profit. I will me going again when I need that fix.

Yelp
Firstly, expeeeensive! Be warned! 50p just for the addition of a scoop of flavoured jellies? Making a regular sized bubble tea £3.75? A little insane if you ask me. The passionfruit tea with lychee jellies and pearls was yummy, but took a weirdly long time, especially considering they have a fancy machine that shakes the tea for them. The tea tasted pretty good though, not powdery or icy like some others I've had. And my boyfriends vanilla tea was so delicious. The service was pretty unfriendly and I just wasn't blown away by the drinks the way I was at Chaboba Bubble Tea in Camden. If Bubbleology start doing the fruit flavoured pearls that burst in your mouth, well... then we'll talk.

Yelp
Very cool concept of showing that making an excellent bubble tea is scientific. The friendly mixologists will make every combination possible for you or you can simply ask them to surprise you. The attention to detail is convincing but as Taro Milk Tea is my benchmark, I didn't taste anything different from the one I just had in Prague (in a mall shop called Tea One). It was good but expected. I'd have to say the best Taro flavoured I've had was in Oxnard California (made in a family owned shop... apologies for not providing the name). The exciting part of visiting bubbleology is the way the bubbleologists (is that a word) takes time and effort to make it a good experience for you. The downside is if there's a very inquisitive person in front of the queue who wants to chat a lot, then you might be in for a long haul. Price is so competitive compared to the existing ones in the China Town and Soho perimeter. The shop itself is cute and unassuming. A really cool place to hang out.

Yelp
Update (Jan 15): Their creamer now contains dairy. Of course, why would they mention that to anyone? So, I'm no longer going here. I can pay they £3.60 for a much better tea (with real non-dairy options) elsewhere. Sorry Bub! Ever since Yelp's Meet the Owner event here, I always seem to make an excuse to swing by if I'm even remotely near. Maybe I hold Bubbleology in higher regard than other bubble tea places since I am dairy-free. Sure, I do love my go-to mango and peach juice bubble tea (and still do!) since I couldn't indulge in the milk teas. But Bubbleology changed all that. They use a non-dairy and animal product-free milk. Well then I went crazy and tried everything. I am now a taro bubble tea addict (it tastes like Oreo cookies!!!). Did I mention you can get anything either hot or cold? The hot taro was, shockingly, a bit too sickly for me so I stick to the cold version. Glad there are a few shops dotted around the city, so I am never too far from a hit.

Yelp
As if Weird Science made a tapoica baby. Smells like Jell-O and Kool-aid, and there's a very limited selection of drinks. I do like the color scheme (think Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) and the fact that they have a frequent buyer card. But Chinatown is just mere blocks away, as I unfortunately found out (there's just something about the authenticity of bubble/boba tea with Asian markets). P.S. I'm not familiar with the UK yet, but it was EXTREMELY WARM at 6 pm today to be waiting for my drink, so I'm just not sure if it was the weather or lack of A/C.

Yelp
First time ordering boba in the UK and I was super excited but greatly disappointed. It just didn't taste fresh and flavorful. The boba was hard as well. In California, boba life is huge so I guess I may have high standards. I ordered a jasmine milk tea and the taste was really off.

Yelp
My friend decided to get a hot bubble tea (a bit strange in my opinion) so I went with her to Bubbleology after lunch in Soho. Out of the blue while we're waiting for her drink, the guy asks me if I want a free bubble tea. I blankly looked at him and he's like waving this drink in my face. I must've looked really confused because without a word he just shoved it in my hands and said "It's free, we just made extra." I think it was supposed to be vanilla flavoured...but it was cloyingly sweet and reminded me of something artificial. Very unpleasant. I had about 5 sips (mostly because I felt bad) before throwing it out. All I can say is don't get the vanilla bubble tea. I wouldn't know but maybe their other flavours are better?

Yelp
Mediocre bubble tea. I got the jasmine milk tea, which tasted okay and had decent boba. Nothing amazing, but not bad. My biggest complaint would be the slow service, which led to a queue that went out the door. I waited close to 15 mins for my drink.
