Buc-ee’s, Once a Texas Traveler’s Oasis, Has Lost Its Thrill | Eater

"The Texas-born travel-center chain, founded in 1982 and expanded into a full-fledged travel center in Luling, Texas in 2001 by Arch “Beaver” Aplin, is famed for spotless restrooms, an enormous selection of snacks and prepared foods (including a massive Wall of Gummies), and an extensive line of mascot-branded merchandise—from bikinis and onesies to home decor—plus a bronze beaver statue that draws selfies. Once a cult-favorite highway oasis where travelers could splurge on jerky, fudge, and other treats, rapid expansion across Texas and beyond (a 2019 opening in Robertsdale, Alabama followed by locations in Georgia and Florida and planned entries into Tennessee) has made it ubiquitous and often overcrowded: packed parking lots, long bathroom lines, clogged aisles as first-timers gawk at merch, and stressed, sometimes hostile atmospheres as shoppers hunt for staples like the chain’s chicken salad. The founder’s sizable political donations (more than $1 million to Gov. Greg Abbott and contributions to Attorney General Ken Paxton’s campaign) have prompted ethical concerns and boycott talk for some customers, which compounds the frustration of those who otherwise feel forced to stop because competing gas stations generally offer far worse facilities and food. Overall, what felt like a special mirage for weary travelers has, for many longtime fans, lost much of its magic and become a chaotic tourist draw." - Amy McCarthy

Google
On the return from our road trip, my family and I stopped by to see the Disney World for road trippers to see what all the fuss was about. This place is massive with multiple gas pumps, as well as a large store that offers everything from fresh made jerky, roasted nuts, knick knacks, and large clothing/souvenir area. The store was very well maintained and clean. The bathrooms were plentiful and I enjoy the privacy it offers. The staff all seemed pleasant and kept busy, ensuring the store was clean. If I see a Buc-ee's on my next road trip, I'll definitely be making more stops.

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Buc-ee’s never disappoints. The Carolina Pork Sandwich was flavorful and perfectly done, and the Brisket Burrito was filling and delicious. It was busy, but the lines moved well and it wasn’t overwhelming. They have an incredible selection of hot food, plus tons of cookies and desserts to choose from. Buc-ee’s is more than a gas stop—it’s a destination for great food and fun souvenirs. Right next door to this location is a large Fireworks Store.

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Stopped at Buc-ee’s and the food was amazing! The Texas Cheesesteak Burrito was hands down the star—packed with tender brisket, grilled peppers and onions, gooey melted cheese, and wrapped in a warm tortilla. I also tried the 3-Meat Brisket Sandwich, stacked with juicy sliced brisket, sausage, and pulled pork—smoky, flavorful, and filling. Don’t forget to load up on condiments and toppings—sour cream, cheese, pickles, and jalapeños make everything even better. The Buc-ee’s experience itself was great too. Everyone was super friendly and even greeted us out the door. The restrooms were spotless (as expected), and the Tesla charging stations were quick and empty. Bonus points for the super cute $10 souvenir cups that actually keep your drink cold for hours. Buc-ee’s really nails it—great food, friendly service, and all the extras that make road trips way better.

Occasionally while wearing a Buc-ee’s shirt, someone will ask me what’s up with the hype. Me: Buc-ee’s is the Disney World of gas stations. I live in Orlando, so I should know. You have GOT to go, both in the bathroom and in the store. Take your credit card. It’s only 100 miles- you can hold it. 🦫 My last visit to Buc-ee’s, we were inside 47 minutes, not waiting in line but looking around and shopping. Don’t rush. Take your time. You’ll want to look around at everything. There’s not a better gift shop with such a quality selection of items to purchase anywhere. And then pick out a meal and eat it in your car. There are no tables to be found, probably to get you back on the road. Beef jerky fan? There are SO many varieties; just ask for a free sample. 🦫 It seems kinda crazy to write a review for a gas station, but the beaver logo is comedy gold. And their merchandising department seems to be made of money raising wizards whose only goal is to separate you from your big bucks in the gift shop portion while you over-eat, trance like, on Buc-ee’s nuggets. They are known as having the best bathrooms in America, and I will say they have earned that reputation. The Beach Express location has red and green lights above the spotless bathroom stalls now for easier emptiness confirmation. You can’t say no to their t-shirts, nor do you want to pass up their pulled pork BBQ sandwiches. Both are amazing. Gas is usually price lower than anyone in the area, with over 100 pumps for a shorter wait. The whole place is a magical wonderland of amazing food and clothing, tons of stuff you don’t need but will most definitely want, and bathroom stalls cleaner than your home potty. They have nice dog walking areas if you’re traveling with Fido, including free poop bags. It’s a win win for everyone in the car!

Google
This is the coolest gas station. There are so so many pumps. The parking lot can get busy with people streaming in and out, so best be patient. The store is HUGE! Buc-ee's products everywhere and it's a vibe to say the least. The brisket and buns are to die for! Perfect for a long road or even a hangover lol! This place is more than just a pit stop, it's an experience

Michelle

Google
I absolutely love this place. I wish there were more across the US. I’ve been to them in Florida. Today I visited Alabama’s location. We never leave without buying a shopping spree worth of stuff. Clean bathrooms, array of food and so many things to see!! Exceptional check out employees to sweeten the experience. Next stop…Texas!

Viktoriia H.

Google
Large and clean! Fresh food. There is also a wide selection of sweets. You can also pick up souvenirs! We will definitely be coming back here. The queue in the store is long, but they serve customers quickly.

Harrison

Google
Buc-ee's are lifesavers on road trips. They have competitive gas prices, exquisitely clean bathrooms, respectable brisket sandwiches, branded jerkys, snacks, sodas, and merchandise. While Stuckys' pecan log is good, Buc-ee's is the better bargain. When it comes to gas stations, this is an embarrassment of riches.

Yelp
1. Lots of parking 2. Cheap fuel 3. Friendly staff 4. Excellent coffee 5. Very clean common area So much to choose from shopping to eating

Yelp
Buc-ees isn't just a gas station experience! All I wanna say is, Brisket sandwich! You can spend a few minutes to an hour in this piece! Buc-a-doodle-doo!
google avatar

Cliff B.

Yelp
Buc-cee's is always the best travel stop, and they have the lowest gasoline prices along the highway. Of course, there is food and drinks galore and clean restrooms. On Sunday afternoon it was very busy, but all was fresh, hot, and a reasonable value. I got the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious.
google avatar

Reia B.

Yelp
I would update to 3.5 stars if that was an option. Since my initial review, they have added the lights over the stalls, great move!! However, the bathroom staff was causing a lot of confusion cleaning the stalls. Not sure of the policies and procedures, but I truly hope they aren't suppose to ask a customer come out of a stall they just entered because you want to clean it! Ma'am, you could wait til I come out. Other than that it was a better than my first visit.
google avatar

Gabriel B.

Yelp
Good food and great atmosphere. Of course, it's Buc-ee's. Very nice employees giving off Southern hospitality, obviously. Cheap gas and very clean store with lots of options. They also might let you take extra coins from them if you need. They also appreciate it when you wear their onesie in the store.
google avatar

Dale S.

Yelp
Buc-ee's is always a good time, but today they had Buc-ee there walking around taking pictures for Thanksgiving! It was so sweet and the kids were loving it! This is a place that definitely cares about its customers. They were giving out samples and had the best gas price in the area as always. They also have great gift ideas and I got some excellent stocking stuffers. Bucc-ees is the best!

Yelp
Visited on a Sunday morning and it was manageable. Easy to gas up. We picked up a few things to eat. My cinnamon roll was old and hard, dated 11/23 (todays date) to "sell by" it should have been pulled yesterday. Everything else was good as usual. Bathroom were clean. The stall that I used had a door handle that was rusted and door paint was peeling. Time to do some maintenance Buc-cee's! Overall it was good experience.
google avatar

Stephen R.

Yelp
This Bucees in Alabama off I-10 is one of my favorites. The layout is like the others with the same clean bathrooms and yummy bites. All the staff are friendly and the prices are moderate. Gas was about the first cheapest heading West from Florida.
google avatar

Brittany M.

Yelp
Christmas items are at Buc-ees! Yay! Still the cleanest bathrooms anywhere, good food, so much to choose from, nice people, and the cheapest gas. Im convinced that if you lost your luggage, you could simply head to Buc-ee's and you'd be set. Then you could furnish your house.
google avatar

Charles H.

Yelp
Yes!!! Seems like one thousand well spaced gas pumps at great prices. Inside, it's an everything you can imagine super store. And, they have fantastic food options. Buc-ees is a wonderful treat & great respite on a road trip. Pro-Tip: Keep an eye on your watch, otherwise you might easily lose track of time while inside. P.S. PLEASE don't go inside while leaving your vehicle at the pump. Pump your gas and then park in the massive parking lot before heading inside to enjoy all that Buc-ees has to offer.

Yelp
Can't go to the beach in Gulf Shores without stopping by Bucees. I never have had a bad experience here! Always fresh brisket on the BOARD! I tried something new and got the Sausage on the stick and it was very good! The sausage was juicy and far from dry! I got some mustard to go with it as well. My boyfriend got the cheesesteak burrito and that large burrito was packed with flavor including onions, bell peppers and mushrooms! Wanted to get some unsweetened tea, but they were out. All is well because their fountain drinks are amazing! This locations has great bucee beach and dog apparel which is right up my alley!
google avatar

Yelp
Every time I'm near a Buc-cee's I have to stop and get something! This run it was snacks only. I love Buc-ee Nuggets the original sweet ones. I also got the Bold n Spicy. Both are my favorites. Bought a few bags of the chips, but I will pass on those. I will stick to the Nuggets only. I usually get a brisket sandwich, but I had already eaten. Customer service was amazing, they will walk you to what you're looking for. I love Buc-cee's

Yelp
Always a great experience at Bucee's from the smells, service and limitless chooses of flavors of food, sodas and coffee we relish any opportunity to stop. Hubby loves the brisket sandwich & bohemian garlic beef jerky, I think the banana pudding is still really good for a commercial product. The kiddos inhale the beaver nuggets, as do I truthfully Everyone appreciates the clean restrooms and with so many bright lights and things to see/buy a trip there for us takes longer than a usual gas/snack stop.
google avatar

Sophia B.

Yelp
We've been to multiple Buc-ee's, This one is exactly like the ones in Texas. They were crazy busy but we didn't wait long to check out or for the really clean restrooms. We stopped for the breakfast tacos, which never disappoint. So many snack options! You won't go hungry here! So many fun items to shop here. Also this location has lots of Tesla Charging Stations!
google avatar

Trimell L.

Yelp
You can't go wrong stopping a Buc-ee's. Extremely cordial employees. Plenty of choices for drinks, snacks and souvenirs
google avatar

Shirley W.

Yelp
It's almost too much! Everything you need in one place! Happy employees and amazing food that's worth the price! I wish people would not park at the pumps and go in to shop! Can't wait to revisit!

Yelp
I just love Buc-ee's! Safe place to stop and refuel for a road trip. All employees are super friendly and helpful. This place literally has everything you need and want: gas, clothes, snacks, meals, souvenirs. If you can think of it, I'm sure Buc-ee's has it. When I go, I always stop to get gas first. They have hundreds of stations so you will not have to wait for a pump. After I gas up, I go inside to use the restroom. The restrooms are always clean! After I take care of that I grab a buggy cause it's time for the fun to begin. I'm always trying new snack/food items but here are my Buc-ee's staples: chopped brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, sour cherry candy, and beaver nuggets. These are my staples, but I always leave with way more. Next time you're on the road and pass a location you have to stop and give them a try, it's an experience.

Katherine K.

Yelp
Was in Gulf Shores for vacation and had heard all about buc-ees so we drove over. What a great place to get all your needs...ine stop shopping. Ended up with several bbq sandwiches, salads, burrito, beaver nuggets as well as a few tumblers with buc-ees logo, shirt and a few early Xmas items. Wow...a bit overwhelming at first. Bathrooms were super clean. Cashiers were very friendly. Will definitely stop at another buc-ees when we pass one!
google avatar

Jey R.

Yelp
By now everyone knows what this super center entails. Yes, there's gas but that's not the main attraction. The FOOD is where it's at. The wall of jerky is something to behold. If sweets are your thing the in-house-made fudge is pretty good too. So many options for both hot and cold foods. Can we all stop and appreciate the CLEANEST bathrooms I've ever encountered road side?!
google avatar

Wish H.

Yelp
Come on now.. if you don't know then you should. If you're on Hwy 10 in bama and you haven't stopped to experience Buc-ee's I don't know what to say. All day long every day if they were closer. Gas prices, merchandise and food. You just can't do any better..
google avatar

Yelp
What doesn't bucce's have?!?! SUPER clean bathrooms- check! Tons of food/beverages- check! Tshirts and housewares- check! Reasonably priced gas- check! Stuff you didn't know you needed- check! We stop here going to Mississippi and on the way back for fuel and food. It is spic and span clean at this location! I have never ever seen a trash can even close to being full. Every person I have encountered there has been very friendly and pleasant to converse with while they check me out. Prices are very good too. You get a good amount of food for what you pay whether it's a brisket sandwich, sausage egg biscuit, or burrito. Definitely a must stop on a road trip. Just be careful of going during peak hours cuz it gets CROWDED!
google avatar

Yelp
Buccees is a magical gas station. It's absolutely massive. It feels like a gas station and a Cracker Barrel had a really amazingly huge baby. There is a whole restaurant operating in the middle serving up breakfast sandwiches or bbq, depending on what time you're there. Both are amazing options. There is also a counter on the side offering up other sweet and savory treats. I personally recommend the cinnamon roles or the kolaches. On a road trip and need coffee? Well look no further because they have options with the coffee and a whole cooler full of creamers and other add ins. Their soda fountain is massive. THEY EVEN HAVE DR PEPPER SLUSHEES! I never go there without picking up bucees nugees. I started out with their traditional ones, but have found I'm addicted to the savory ones. The staff here are all so very helpful and nice and I imagine because it plays pretty decently for all of the positions. The sign at the gas pump goes into some of the details, but it seems like fair pay. This place is incredible and on the way to Orange beach, so that means certain times of the year of 3 day weekends will be OVERLY packed and may be hard to get in and out of. I have once spend about half an hour trying to leave.
google avatar

KayAnna S.

Yelp
When is Buc-ee's not fantastic? Another great location! Easy to get gas, find parking, and literally anything else you can think of inside. Great options for pit-stop drinks, food, and fun gifts/accessories. Also great prices on gas and drinks/food. Store was very clean and well stocked. Everyone was so nice and greeted us constantly. Can't beat Buc-ee's!
google avatar

Heather G.

Yelp
I absolutely love Buc-ee's as someone traveling through South Alabama for work, I was so excited to make a stop here to pick up some snacks and souvenirs since my closest location is over 3 hours away. The bathrooms are reliably clean as promised, and the food hits the spot for a quick pit stop on the road.
google avatar

Yelp
Al I can say is AMAZING!! I made it finally being from AZ we don't have one not yet that is. Not just a gas station but a total experience that all should be able to enjoy everything from good eats & treats to clothes trinkets & all things you never knew you needed but must buy lol. Delicious hot food, refrigerated items baked goodies & packaged items for purchase. One could easily spend a whole weeks pay in here & have no regrets! Some of the best cashews I've had & the brisket is smoked to perfection, don't forget to pick up some Buc-ee nuggets & house made chips this place you'll surely throw the diet out the door. With plenty of Helpful & friendly staff available throughout the store.

Yelp
IYKYK... Buc-ee's is not just a place, it's an experience. This little beaver is so famous til the owners are opening locations nationwide. High in the sky, one can see the Buc-ee beaver from miles away. His iconic face is on 70% of the merchandise & apparel, he's a cute little guy. Idk what his backstory is, but he's a little icon at this point. I know Buc-ee's started off as a regular Texas gas station, but the popularity has grown astronomically. Shoot, where can I get some Buc-ee's stock, lol. For purchase in the stores are shorts, swimwear, cups, pet swag, baby items... you name it, it's probably there. Going inside you can get lost in the amount of Buc-ee swag that's available. Hats, mugs, golf balls, coloring books, pens, pencils, socks, toothbrushes etc, etc, etc!!!! To be noted, there's a section, separate from the Buc-ee's swag section that is an area where locals sell their wares. Very nice items that can be purchased for yourself or even as gifts. Hats, serving platters, mugs, cups etc. most times the items are focused around home wares and State-hood items, it's really neat. The gas, as it is primarily a gas station, is fairly cheaper than most on the road. Whoever is the brains behind this operation is brilliant. You stop in for $50 in gas and spend $110 on gas & Buc-ee's swag!!! Friendly staff as is customary in all of the Buc-ee's locations. I mean, why not be super happy, it's a lot of happiness going on inside of this store. I see that they pay very well so that's definitely a reason to be happy in and of itself I rated this location 4-stars and not 5-stars ONLY because this is a smaller location than most others and navigating it was tightly challenging. There was even a line for the ladies restroom, which usually NEVER happens at Buc-ee's. I am glad to have a location closer than 5 hours from NOLA. Yay Alabama!!!!
google avatar

Laurie V.

Yelp
Exactly what I expected and what I've read about all these years. What is here? Everything. My travel companion had a shredded brisket samdwich and I had the sliced brisket (pro tip: the sliced is better than the shredded- the latter had way too much sauce). We also got some pork belly and a sausage and cheese plate to go; some waters; and a couple desserts (coconut pudding was very yummy; key lime tasted too artificial). There are tons of people working here. Yes, the bathrooms are clean, like they say, but honestly I think Sheetz are just as clean. Lots of little novelties. We really wanted the Buc-ee's Mardi Gras shirts, but they were sold out in the size we needed. They were so cute though. Darn. Even Buc-ee himself was there. I wish I had one of these places closer to me.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing!! Love it !! The best !! I can always count on Becky's to have the bathrooms great snack, snacks, and great stuff to buy!!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped here to gas up and get great snacks headed to Santa Rosa Beach, FL with the Fam. We always travel via Alabama! Everyone was happy to get out and stretch, restroom break and grab some delicious food! I picked up a Veggie burrito (it was huge) and the rest of the Fam picked up all kinds of goodies! It's huge, a variety of cooked foods, baked goods, wine, clothes, jewelry, etc. Always a good time at Buc-ee's, ALWAYS crowded! Can't wait for the next road trip, we will most definitely pull up and the staff was so pleasant!!!!!! Plenty of free parking!!!!!

Yelp
So my first time visiting a Buc-ee's did not disappoint! My daughter led the way in her Buc-ee's Jammie pants and told me the brisket sandwich was the way to go as far as hot food was concerned. (Yes I'm raising her well! ) We entered into a sea of Buc-eeiopians, Buc-eelandians, ummm let's just say if a new country needed to be formed they could have done it with the amount of people in that Buc-ee's. It was a swarm of people! So be prepared for that. First stop was the bathroom which was super clean! A+ for that! And luckily in timed my potty break perfectly because there was no line . Everyone on there seemed to understand the collective experience that was alive and pulsing throughout this place. It was like Disney in a sense because people were polite while pushing by you and the overall vibe was one of understanding--go with the flow--LITERALLY! ‍ I investigated all the merch and escaped with no impulse buys! Yay me! lol I absolutely loved that they let you taste the jerky before you buy. I went with cherry maple yum! The brisket sandwich was super good and that brisket is so tender you won't be disappointed. I got sliced and my daughter got chopped. Chopped is the way to go! You get a very saucy mix of lean and wet brisket which was nice (she let me get a bite of hers ). Sliced wasn't bad but after I bit hers I wished it was mine . Check-out process was smooth and organized. Customer service was top notch! I see why the hype surrounding Buc-ee's exists. It's cool and it's a nice respite if you're on a long roadtrip. I can check it off my list and say I'll be looking forward to visiting again! Another review giving it to you straight no chaser! Enjoy!

Rachel D.

Yelp
Great prices on batteries. Philly cheesesteak burrito was sloppy and not served hot-was not impressed. Great place to stop for supplies for our trip to Gulf Shores and Florida.

Yelp
My second Buc-ee's in Alabama (the other near Birmingham about 250 miles north and my 17th overall. Like all others, it features a massive gas station outside with over a hundred gas pumps and zero trash anywhere to be seen. Inside, huge as always. Maybe as big as a Walmart? Lots of food and snacks options. Coffee and different add-ins. Candied nuts of different types. Soda fountains. Of course, fresh sandwiches and barbecue. Jerky of a dozen different flavors. And then the massive clothing and decor area with shirts and hats and towels and kitchenware and just so much interesting stuff. I haven't even mentioned the award-winning clean bathrooms! Employees are friendly and everywhere, stocking and tidying and you shouldn't have to wait long for a register. Enjoy your Buc-ee's! [Review 911 of 2024 - 232 in Alabama - 21940 overall]

Yelp
Literally the worst Buccees I've been in across the country. Worst traffic control. The least clean bathrooms with less friendly staff with apparently an inability to enforce Buccees policies. Its the only one I now actively try to avoid.

Yelp
Luv this place. try everything you can afford. Luvin the brisket sandwich, super tender. Decent gas prices. LG clean restrooms. Friendly employees. Easy in n out...

Yelp
I'm from Texas and go to Bucees on a regular basis, and this experience coming here was nuts! We were driving to Florida and stopped and it was so busy, but leaving was INSANE! There was a line of over 30 people in the restroom and a line to get in that was half a mile long, literally. There were so many cars in the parking lot it took us over an hour to pull in, not be able to use the facilities and pull out it was like we were leaving an arena for a concert. You could barely walk inside, cars kept cutting each other off driving aggressively and people were arguing in the store. They should really consider conducting traffic because this Buccees is waaaaay too small for the amount of people it pulls in since it looks like it was the only one in the area. As someone who loves Bucees, it would've been better for us to just pass on it and go to a gas station because note to self don't stop at the one in Alabama it was crazy. They really need a good separate area for trailers and big rigs because it seems like those had a big part to do in it as well. If this was my first experience at Bucees, I would never come back again. I only will bc I know this isn't the usual. With children, this was disorienting.

Yelp
Great quick stop full of treats and quality food options. You will definitely find something in this large gas station stop.
google avatar

Robby M.

Yelp
5 stars for the amazing bathroom alone! Great eats, super friendly folks, and all the beaver-emblazoned merch you can imagine. I am totally getting one of these fire pits one day, too!
google avatar

Nicole H.

Yelp
Who doesn't love Bucees?! We always stop by even though it can get expensive b/c they have literally everything inside! This store was packed as always but had lots of parking. They had a few areas being repaired and one taco area under construction. My favorites here are the brisket sandwiches, great variety of fountain drinks (only 99 cents for a large), and the homemade kettle chips. They also have delicious chocolate! They carry lots of gifts including clothing, housewares, books, toys, etc and this location was very well stocked. Definitely check them out if you are driving by but be prepared to spend $$$!
google avatar

Rodonna R.

Yelp
I stop at all Buc-fee's, this one was like most busy, but never have I gone in one and all the toilets were in use lol
google avatar

Jeffrey R.

Yelp
Finally got to a couple of Buc-ee's and I love them! Huge convenience store like a mall. The chopped barbecue brisket sandwich was delicious as everyone said. They sell everything you don't need but must have. I will always stop when I see that sign.

Yelp
Please do not be discouraged by this review. It is kinda strange to review a gas station. To me it is not just any gas station. In my opinion. I have been to many of Buc-ee's locations in many states across the USA. I have never had a bad experience with them. I consider them the top tier gas station. If you ever want to if this is a good place for a pit stop. It is a definitely yes. I know it is cheesy, but one of the many things that they are known for: The largest gas station pumps. Not only just for cars/trucks. But they can accommodate semi-trucks and large campers. (They are in a separate area ). I believe I did see a small group of Tesla charging stations as well? Please let me know if I am mistaken. They have the cleanest bathrooms and includes showers. To my understanding. The staff maintains them every hour. Cheesy I know. Many people have confided in me that it makes a huge difference in a true pit stop. Especially rare that they have showers. They have a large selection of fresh food examples: fresh pudding, fudge, jerky, cheese, sandwiches, chips, and etc. Large selections of food, drinks, snacks, ice cream and icees. They have a small selection of home goods and clothes too. Each location can vary. They offer many outdoor items. So many different types of food options to list. You just have to look for yourself. A lot of people recommend the beaver nuggets (taste like Corn Pops) the cinnamon flavor nuggets ( taste like Cinnamon Toast Crunch). Great grab and go. Honestly, never had a bad experience with them. Anyone that has been there too. You may want to consider when you go. Some days or times can be very busy. Hard to find a parking spot or traffic. They are usually open 24/7. Subject to change. Definitely make a pit stop and see for yourself if you are near one. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Easy to pull out RV with a tow into the gas station area and then reposition to a side area. It would be nice for a designated area for RV's with tows to park as I was lucky to have a spot to pull to. Clean restrooms and so many choices of everything. A must stop!

Yelp
It's always a joy to stop at Buc-ee's when I'm in the Southern States. The tater tots and brisket are delcious. It's a huge store/gas station with a lot of souvenir items and snacks. I was a sucker and bought a lunch container too. Good service and friendly people.

Yelp
I was so excited to come here! I've seen Buc-ee's online via friends who have visited the Texas locations, so when I knew I was going to Visit Gulf Shores, we had to make a special drive to Roberstdale! Robertsdale is a straight drive from Gulf Shores and Foley. Although its concept is a truck stop, this is no normal truck stop! Buc-ee's is as big as a Costco, complete with a long line to access the gas station. There wasn't a lot of parking on a busy Monday at noon, so we parked in back and walked in. Wow! The deli is amazing! It smells like BRISKET inside! So warm and comforting! It's fun to watch the deli neat being prepared - the amount of sandwiches to choose from there is a dream! There are also walls of nuts, sauces, spices, etc. lots of Buc-ee products which are so fun and functional (lunch bags etc). There are normal, conventional items like drinks, coffees, pastries, etc. there's a section for (seasonal) Buc-ee souvenirs plus University of Alabama and Alabama-proper souvenirs. In addition to that, there is a gift shop with merchandise akin to that of a Tuesday Morning. Let's not forget the bathrooms! Pegged as the cleanest bathrooms in the world, not so much on a crowded Monday at lunchtime. Let's just say patrons were using the bathrooms faster than the staff could get to them haha! But I did manage to grab a clean stall - they're actually reminiscent of a European bathrooms where you step into your own "closet" for full privacy. Love it! I would absolutely go again in Texas or whatnot. I'm glad for the fun experience and look forward to going back!

Yelp
This is the second Buc-ee's I've been to and this one is somehow even bigger and crazier, which didn't seem possible. I loved by first Buc-ee's experience, and I loved this one as well. Once again, cheap gas and an incredible selection of food and snacks. I recommend the pulled pork barbeque and the white cheddar nuggets. I think this place is just a blast. I understand why it might be too much for some, but my only complaint is that there isn't one closer to my house!

Yelp
Buc-ee's never disappoints! The clean bathrooms are hands-down the best part--always spotless and easy to get in and out. We grabbed breakfast and the biscuit sandwich was delicious, with the perfect balance of soft and savory. The beaver tots were crispy and crunchy, a great side to start the morning. Service was fast and friendly, making the whole stop smooth and enjoyable. Definitely worth pulling over for!

Yelp
Not sure we are Buc-ee's people. We've stopped by here twice, most recently on a Sunday afternoon in August (past peak season). It is crazy and chaotic - people just absolutely everywhere, the parking lot and lines are all crazy. We've always heard great things about the brisket so we grabbed 2 sandwiches to go. They're ok! Not super smoky or anything to really rave over. Good for gas station bbq, absolutely, ($8.50 a piece for a decent size sandwich, xxls are $12.50) but we know people who drive an hour just to get them (they're not that good). I did see flies buzzing around the brisket station. The coffee station is crazy and, while I make my own lattes at home great, I could not make mine taste good here. The syrups did not have much flavor and the iced coffee wasn't the best tasting. I felt in a rush as it was a busy area so this might just be user error. It was only $2.50 which is not bad and you have access to a ton of syrup options and milk. Huge lines for the bathroom, and rude people in the parking lot driving around. All the employees were really quick, efficient, and nice. They seemed to take care of messes/spills really quickly and there were a ton of employees on duty. Buc-ee's itself is fine, definitely overrated but I was impressed with the staff. What keeps me away is how chaotic and busy everything is. If that doesn't bother you then you'll be fine.

Yelp
Amazing store and service. They greet you at the door with a smile. This place is truly a one stop shop form food to cloths or a cooler to go
