IYKYK... Buc-ee's is not just a place, it's an experience. This little beaver is so famous til the owners are opening locations nationwide.
High in the sky, one can see the Buc-ee beaver from miles away. His iconic face is on 70% of the merchandise & apparel, he's a cute little guy. Idk what his backstory is, but he's a little icon at this point. I know Buc-ee's started off as a regular Texas gas station, but the popularity has grown astronomically. Shoot, where can I get some Buc-ee's stock, lol.
For purchase in the stores are shorts, swimwear, cups, pet swag, baby items... you name it, it's probably there. Going inside you can get lost in the amount of Buc-ee swag that's available. Hats, mugs, golf balls, coloring books, pens, pencils, socks, toothbrushes etc, etc, etc!!!!
To be noted, there's a section, separate from the Buc-ee's swag section that is an area where locals sell their wares. Very nice items that can be purchased for yourself or even as gifts. Hats, serving platters, mugs, cups etc. most times the items are focused around home wares and State-hood items, it's really neat.
The gas, as it is primarily a gas station, is fairly cheaper than most on the road. Whoever is the brains behind this operation is brilliant. You stop in for $50 in gas and spend $110 on gas & Buc-ee's swag!!!
Friendly staff as is customary in all of the Buc-ee's locations. I mean, why not be super happy, it's a lot of happiness going on inside of this store. I see that they pay very well so that's definitely a reason to be happy in and of itself
I rated this location 4-stars and not 5-stars ONLY because this is a smaller location than most others and navigating it was tightly challenging. There was even a line for the ladies restroom, which usually NEVER happens at Buc-ee's.
I am glad to have a location closer than 5 hours from NOLA. Yay Alabama!!!!
