Buca

"Tucked underground through an alleyway entrance, this hideout is nonetheless a very poorly kept secret, drawing acclaim from all quarters with its hearty, meat-centric Italian fare. For starters, a notable selection of salumi is artfully cured and aged in house, showcasing carefully sourced heritage breed pork in exemplary versions of coppa or prosciuttini (sliced wafer-thin, naturally). Handmade pastas and crisp Roman-style pizzas both vie for attention, with intriguing accoutrements like wild boar soppressata and Calabrese-style braised pork—a dilemma best resolved by covering more ground with a group. Note that a second location on Scollard shifts focus to the fruits of the ocean, as in buttery Nova Scotia lobster matched with fresh angel hair pasta." - Michelin Inspector

My girlfriend and I came here as part of the Winterlicious Food Festival that happens every year in Toronto and enjoyed their 3-course pre-fix menu. Service staff were friendly and attentive the whole night. Each dish was brought, then explained ingredient-by-ingredient, giving you that traditional fine-dining feeling. We also ordered a bottle of orange wine (my favourite kind, and not readily available at most restaurants) to accompany us through the meal. Every dish was simple and flavourful, but our favourite of the night had to be their tiramisu. First of all, this dessert was massive - can easily be shared between two people and I am not kidding when I say this was hands-down the best tiramisu we have ever tried. It was creamy, decadent, and the crispy wafer on top adds an element of texture that we both thought was delightful. I am sad to hear of this closing of this location as I thought it was their best one. We are happy to have had the pleasure of dining here when it was around - it will be remembered fondly!

I was excited to try the place. Didn't have a problem reserving a table. Since we knew it's located downtown, we had figured out parking prior to heading down. 3 minutes walk from the closest paid parking garage. We liked the general ambiance and the look of the place, though we felt the tables were too close together with others and it was loud(noise from chatter) We did not enjoy the food. Steak was hard, and octopus was very rubbery. Pastas were OK, and appetizers were decent at best. Tiramisu was too liquidy. Wine was great, though. Overall, it was very disappointing. To add to this, our server was not very attentive. Price isn't too bad, approximately $600 for 4 people including tax & tip. Probably won't go back again.

It’s located at end of hidden alley along King st. Their patio is small and cute but they have larger interior. The cocktails were overpriced but food was decent. Their service was very polite and helful and staff were friendly. Although we had overall positive experience there, we wouldn’t go back there since the price tag didn’t match the food and scale of the restaurant. They should revisit the menu and prices to attract more traffic there.

Visited during the Summerlicious event. Their menu offering was a superb balance of traditional and innovative dishes that exceeded our expectations, meeting all our culinary cravings. The attentive and knowledgeable staff provided exceptional service, complementing the delightful dining experience. The highlight of our evening was the decadent tiramisu, an indulgent finale to the sublime meal. Buca Osteria & Enoteca skillfully blends the genuine authenticity of Italian flavors with meticulous service in a serene setting, offering a memorable dining experience. A must-visit culinary gem in Toronto.

Had such an amazing time eating here. Highly recommend the Pizza with Burrata. The crust is so light & airy. Our waiter explained that they do something with the dough so it doesn’t make you feel too full because it doesn’t expand in your stomach. I love it!! The service at this location is also really great. They recommended the perfect amount of food for us.

It was nice restaurant but food was just avarage. I was expecting someting more. In general food was bit too salty for me and my friend. My Friend's carbonara was bit too salty and she got another one. But second pasta was bit too hard compare to the first one. However server were friendly and nice. Maybe its nice place for some drink and small snack.

Had a really nice time here. Came with a big group of 20+ people after an event. Private dining area and really great staff. We had a set menu accompanied by a tiramisu dessert. Great selection of food as you could see from the photos. The fish was by far my personal favourite.

The atmosphere was very unique. Aged brick interior, exposed ceilings and pipes and very unique light fixtures. The staff was extremely pleasant, welcoming, and knowledgable about the menu. They cleaned out the table, plates, forks and knives after the appetizers and replaced them. A nice touch was the waiter who replaced our plates and utensils had a towel to not touch anything with her bare hands. The food was fantastic and it speaks for itself. Fresh pasta full of flavour. Extremely thin pizzas - great tasting fresh salads. I loved the food at Buca - would highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back!
