A friend once told me the food there was bad, but I didn't expect it to be this awful. I was going to have the sashimi branzino that day, but a huge snowstorm came, and the delivery didn't show up.
The grilled branzino looked a bit fishy and pale. You could tell just by looking at it. The seasoning was basically nonexistent. Ugh!
The nodini bread knots were somewhat dense with a hint of garlic and rosemary. They were just okay—slightly oily, and the coarse salt was quite salty.
The maccheroncini di Campofilone lobster pasta was so-so. There was less lobster than in the Google pictures. The pasta was cooked alright, though.
The soppressata was the best. The pizza crust was thin and crispy, but the edges were a bit overdone. The tomato sauce was tangy and refreshing, and it was very juicy when you bit into it. Yum!
The polpo e vongole didn't taste fresh at all. There were large pieces of octopus and clams, but the octopus tasted like the ones from Costco's freezer.
The bistecca di manzo was the worst steak ever. I ordered it medium-rare, but it arrived nearly well-done. The meat was dry, and they totally messed up the cooking. There was hardly any seasoning except a bit of salt, and blood was oozing out. It looked unappetizing. Big no-no!
The tiramisù di Buca was pretty good. The mascarpone cream was creamy and smooth to swallow, not too rich. All the ingredients blended well.
The pizzelle was also tasty. It was a white chocolate dessert with waffle layers.
Overall, it's okay to have drinks and some desserts here. But the main courses were just average or even bad. The service was alright, and the environment was fine too.
