I had been eye-ing this place and wanting to come in for some cheese. We were full after lunch, but somehow, a cheese plate didn't seem to be too much.
The person working there was very knowledgable about his cheese and was patient in helping us with trying different cheese. Based on what we liked, he ended up putting together a cheese plate for us. The cheese plate came with some crackers from Bath. The cheese portions were generous.
- 42 month Gouda: a bit creamy but wonderful flavor
- A French Alpine cheese - probably my favorite
- Montgomery British cheddar
- British Suffolk Brie: definitely worth trying - it can stand up to any French brie
They had a pretty good wine selection for such a small place. We did a Nebbiolo for £8 and a Verdicchio for £6. In the end, with the cheese, it was £24 total, which is ridiculously reasonable.
I wish we could take stuff to go, but I didn't have a fridge.
Bonuses:
- clean bathrooms
- very friendly service
- super cute shop with a neighborhood feel
