I ordered two lamb Shawarma’s, one being with fries, and the other without. They had the labels wrong for those sandwiches. I reached out to the management of the establishment to express my irritations and I was ALSO told that they ARE AWARE of their lamb meat having some sort of toughness to them, why would you notably sell tough lamb? followed by in order for me to have some type of compensation rendered I would have to bring the food back showing that it had fat on majority of the shawarma on it. moreover It’s uneatable, and I live in Lake Orion (over 40 min away). The response from the management single handily let me know why black business in Detroit are failing. Lack of service, lack of care for the patrons and not enough level leadership. Utterly disappointed and will never eat a Shawarma at a non-Lebanese establishment

Original plan was to go somewhere in Oak Park, but I wanted to support my neighborhood. So I went here. Waited on the phone for seven minutes just to be answered by a rude team member. Then to get there to food wasn’t ready, but when I took it home it was cold. Not the first time. It’s been two years and I tried one more time. Nothing has changed.

Really digging the vibe here at the Bucharest Grill. It was our first time and Micah, who took our order, was so cool- great smile and super patient with us, as she explained the menu. Very excited to have this as our neighborhood spot for Eastern European food.

Management what are you doing in Royal Oak????? You need to fire whomever it is answering the phone at 5pm 6/17/24. Usually the service is tolerable. Today the idiot that answered the phone hung up on me while I was making my order. I call back to complete the order she doesn't apologize, doesn't repeat my order and hangs up on me again. Screw the order. I would rather have someone respectful that takes my order than eye candy. If you see me making a review someone really pissed me off. The food is good but your staff is trash. Period.

The Bucharest Grill has great food and are very efficient at getting your food prepared in a timely fashion. My wait time when I order carryout is usually around 5 minutes or less when it's not super busy. I recently ordered the chicken schwarma salad and it was very satisfying as the chicken was grilled to perfection.

I usually don't write reviews if I don't like the food. It wasn't horrible, well the curly fries were disgusting. They were really tough and that's a first for me I also ordered the chicken shawarma. I should have walked out when I saw how they were cooking it Chicken shawarma is supposed to be cooked on a spit and slowly roasted. Not here, it's cooked on a stove top grill. Then chopped not shaved. You can't call this shawarma smh. They use a whole pita bread to wrap it, Another red flag. You're supposed to separate the pita bread. They just wrapped it from a store bought pitta bread without separating it. It's also supposed to be toasted using a press to give the pita some texture that would hold up to the moisture from the chicken. Here they just pull it straight from the bag and start stacking. The garlic spread wasn't present and lacked flavor. And the pickle smh. There was only one pickle. And it was wide instead of the usual thin sliced pickles. The pickle lacked that special zip that makes shawarma stand out. Things like this happen when western people try to decolonize an entire culture's food. Stick to the traditional way. The authentic way works for the top shawarma shops. So why be different. Chopping the meat vs shaving the meat makes you load more meat then necessary which isn't an issue but chopping leaves less texture then shaving it from a spit. Honestly what I had wasn't even as juicy as shaved from a spit.

Everything was great. Service was quick, I also got me and my coworker chocolate cake from the baker that has a stand set up inside the business. All right, came here yesterday, great experience, now Sunday, absolutely the worst service ever. The staff literally stood talking on their phones for ten minutes. I finally asked about our food and every staff member just stared at us like we were stupid. I took a picture but it looks like someone could potentially be working but I can tell you they weren't. Sunday the 27th, of August, 12:50 pm. The owners need to look at the surveillance system at that time and teach these lazy, horrible staff members a lesson on customer service

I'm very disappointed with the service and quality of my food I order doing lunch and don't know why I received cold and hard fries shawarma was not even warm they didn't even have my order right and it's so many young girls up at the counter that don't want to take your order cause they busy flirting with the kitchen help ... Like seriously do better I won't be back and to have nobody call me back or even try to rectify the situation is just crazy to me ...

I love Bucharest Grill - large portions, tasty food, good prices. What's there to complain about? I ordered a chicken shawarma salad for my lunch today off of Grubhub. The menu price is $11.95 but there was a minor upcharge using a delivery app. The food took FOREVER but I believe it was the fault of the driver. The salad was tasty and they were super generous with the amount of chicken. I was starving by the time it was delivered and I still couldn't come close to finishing it. I also ordered a side of toum for about $1 and it was a tasty addition. I wish they gave a bit of pita with the salad but it's so cheap that I can't blame them for not including it. The salad was fresh and the chicken was tender and cooked well. Dressing was a little underwhelming but it was still yummy despite it. Overall would absolutely order again! Highly recommend for a good, reasonably healthy lunch.

How is it possibly for the staff to be so unfriendly? Would it hurt to say Hello.. or can I help you? As I stood right in front of the girl at the counter- she just stared with a dead face. I stood there so confused and felt like I was inconveniencing her for just walking in. You can see into the kitchen and Everyone has a dead look in their eyes. Is everyone okay? I felt I gave them better customer service as a patron.

Really a 3.5. It was my first time eating here. I ordered a chicken shwarma and a lamb shwarma box. The fries in the box were tasty. The lamb shwarma was EXTREMELY greasy. It was delicious, but greasy. My mother enjoyed her chicken. No issues with cleanliness, friendliness of the cashier, or the time it took to get the food

Needing to grab something to eat before work we stopped in and grabbed the best chicken shawarma's in the world! We ordered ahead so they were ready upon arrival. This location was nice and clean and the service great. Can never go wrong coming here.

There's definitely a reason this place has so many terrible reviews. The quality of the food and the service isn't going to change unless people stop spending money here. Because of the lack of quality dining options in the university district, they stay busy. But that doesn't mean they get high volume based on customer satisfaction. Never again.

Chicken swarma salad very good to me staff can be rude at times. But it's the only thing I order to go . I never sit down and sometimes this can place can be pretty packed .

This is a beautiful restaurant! With friendly servers and great food! We really enjoyed the chicken shawarma and curly fries. And you get a huge portion! Of delicious curly fries! They have a huge staff-and the food comes out really fast! We appreciate that!! If we are ever to visit Detroit again-we would be happy to eat here again!!

Takes pretty long to get the food. Not a very clean space. Service is minimum. The falafel shawarma is very salty. The beef one is much better.

This is for your Picquette location. Just friendly customer service advice. We are still not sure if Covid 19 is entirely over. It was very troubling walking into your establishment yesterday, and it was extremely filthy. More disturbing was the staff standing around talking and not making sure the store entrance was presentable. It was a spill when I entered the door where the free magazines sat. I felt like I was going to fuss like it was my house! I had to realize that I couldn't check them. Long story short & short story long....it was very untidy and unwelcoming. I am glad that I didn't wake up with food poisoning because I was very nervous about how the kitchen looked. Do better management -- that restaurant looked like a high school lunchroom.

I love this place. I always get the lamb shawarma and house salad. Be prepared to smell like garlic for about a day but it's worth it. I ordered from this place every Friday for about a month. Service is pretty swift. I ate inside once or twice which was cool. There's usually someone inside the restaurant selling desserts with are also good!!!

First of all I have to say this place is VERY clean, like some must be sweeping and mopping every 10 mins here because I haven't seen a place that clean during lunch hour in awhile. Anyways I ordered the Lamb Shwarma and a Fatoosh Salad and it was VERY good. Everything was crisp on the salad and the Shwarma, the onions the green peppers and the lettuce itself was all very crisp and the onions on the shwarma were also crisp for the price I thought this better be a good shwarma but when I seen the size of it I understood. This is a very good establishment and everyone here is hard at work.

There chicken shawarma is the best especially with there house made ranch . But there kale salad is top tier.

I got a chicken shawarma salad. Generous portion of chicken & a wonderful lemony oil dressing. It was the perfect size and I'm not sure if it comes with pita, but I ordered 2 pitas and I got 6 (which I was very very happy about) I will definitely be back!

This is specifically regarding the ROYAL OAK location. The manager at this store is super bias towards customers that look a certain way and he has no qualms about it. I have noticed this on THREE different occasions. To each their own, but I will never return to this restaurant, despite how good the food tastes. I will spend my GREEN money, only where I am treated with respect.

Bucharest Grill is probably my favorite Mediterranean food AROUND! I love that they have so many locations in and around Detroit, just wish there were more closer to me, but it's SO worth the drive. Their garlic sauce is insane. They are so generous with their portions & filling. Their pita is thin, but I love it. It's soft / soggy where juices are absorbed, but also crispy in other places, so it's wonderful. And the prices are UNBEATABLE! You get such a bang for your buck, I'm obsessed. Every time I go to Bucharest, because it's a bit of a drive and because it's so good and cheap, I normally buy at least 3 wraps (they also have a great deal for 6 I recently found out!) because they keep really well in the fridge too, so I can pop them into the toaster or microwave for a lunch or dinner in the following days to come. My favorites are the Chicken Shawarma, Bucharest Shawarma (bc they put fries in hehe, but these don't reheat as well also bc of the fries), Schnitzel Plate, and the Garlic Spread (you get so much!)! Just writing this review is making me crave Bucharest so much! I might have to go and get some TOMORROW!!!

Ordered food and was told from the yelp app that it will be ready from 5:15-5:25............waited and got another text which stated it will be ready by 5:45 for two sandwiches. It's 5:05.

The chicken salads are not as good as they used to be.. I bought a salad a few weeks back and it was oily for some reason.. real turn off. This is the one on livernois. I think I'm gonna take my business to royal oak!!

Loved their chicken shawarma! Very tasty and SUPER FILLING. I was disappointed with the pita bread, but I still ate it lol. Didn't taste as fresh as I would have liked. I didn't get it this time around, but the chicken shawarma salad is SO GOOD!!!!!

Stopped into this location to grab some shawarmas while on that side of town. My cousin and I placed our separate orders. She ordered a salad. I ordered a shawarma box with curly fries and an additional shawarma. One shawarma was minus tomato, the other had no pickle with feta added. Simple or so I thought. Multiple parties came in ordered and received their order after I'd placed mine. What should've taken 10, 15 minutes tops took almost an hour. No explanation or apology offered for the delay. The two occasions I inquired about the order I was simply told it wasn't ready. As a fan of Bucharest since the days on Elizabeth, I'll remain one. This location is a no go for me.

I love this location as I love all the others. Yum! We usually get chicken shawarmas, but today I got the steak salad and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, fresh, fast.

Every time I come home I'm definitely leaving back with food. There are several locations I normally go to Livernois location. This location is along Fashion Ave along this strip you have more trendy restaurants and shop. Food- wonderfully season with that Middle Eastern spice. Food cooked fresh. I also get the chicken shawarma and a chicken shawarma salad. The dressing is a simple oil and vinegar with lot of meat. The sandwich is the same no need to order for fries because the sandwich is enough! The one this about this location is that parking can be challenging. It's better to have someone with you and call ahead.

Went here on a Sunday early evening and ordered two shawarma's and fries. We had to wipe down the table as none of them had been cleaned. No toilet paper in either of the ladies bathroom stalls. We waited for an hour and finally asked for a refund. Seemed like an entirely disorganized operation.

Very disappointed, because I love their downtown location. I never thought I'd say this with a salad, but there was barely any lettuce in my Shwarma salad. 99% chicken and veggies. Don't get me wrong that's fantastic, unless you actually want a salad. The other part I was not happy with was customer service. Not sure what's up with this place but everybody was super cold and appeared just miserable to be working there - that rubbed off on the customers and how they interacted with them. Love the downtown location but this one needs a lot of help.

Fast service + so much food for your $. I love the food here. Very tasty and cheap. I advise calling ahead if you're ordering takeout. There's seating available as well if you'd like to dine in. This restaurant has a casual atmosphere. Parking isn't the best. Free street parking is available, but not ideal for a quick grab and go. I highly recommend the chicken shawarma and the chicken shawarma salad. Both under $10. There's multiple convenient locations around the Detroit area. There's a new location opening in Royal Oak soon.

Bucharest Grill has taken over Detroit with now several locations to choose from. There is seemingly one close by wherever you are in the city. The great thing about that, is not only the convenience, but rather the quality and taste remains the same at each location. The chicken shawarma wrap is the darling of the menu, with its succulent grilled bird and palette tantalizing garlic sauce. What I like most about the wrap is the juicy pickles which balance all of that good-for-you garlicky goodness. My favorite item on the menu, however, is the ribeye steak salad. It's chock full of meaty goodness, with a decent quality steak for the small price. My steak is always cooked as I order it, juicy with just the right amount of fat left on it. I know, I know...fat isn't good for folks...whatevs! The salad also has dark leafy lettuce, red onion, green bell pepper, cucumber and pita chips. It's a very filling balanced meal, and so yummy. This location has limited seating for dining in, and limited parking on the busy Avenue of Fashion on Livernois between Outer Drive amd Pembroke. There is a large waiting area with seats in the window. The young ladies who work there are aways nice and efficient. I love the concept of each of the restaurants, which allows you to see inside the busy kitchens. I don't know how they stay out of one another's space. The menu has plenty of options for everyone including beef shawarma wraps, corned beef wraps, hummus, veggie shawarma wraps, falafel wraps, burgers & sliders, stuffed peppers, and grape leaves. Seems that the most expensive items are the ribeye dinner and ribeye salad at an unexpected $11.95 each.

If this was based on just the taste of the shawarma and the value for the money I would have given 4 or 5 stars. These shawarmas seemed how they used to be-packed full of chicken and a great price for the size of the sandwich; they had seemed to shrink in size over the last couple years but they also raised the price from $5.50 to $7.85 so they need to be packed full. The reason for the 2 star review is that 2 of the 3 shawarmas we ordered had chicken bones in them....like a good inch or so long skinny chicken bone. That was NOT a pleasant experience...made it difficult to eat the rest of the sandwich. Gross ...

The food is great! Front of house, not so much. I would rather have my food delivered from Door Dash, than wait for rats to acknowledge my presence.

I tried giving this place another chance, but i just can't! I ordered a side of chicken, garlic spread and a fattoush salad. What I received was literally pieces of chicken that was way too over cooked, and a container of lettuce, a few veggies, and their "House" dressing. If you come for authentic Mediterranean food, you've come to the wrong spot. I'm told this is their version of a fattoush but it's not, look up the damn definition. It shouldn't be called a fattoush at all! That's like me throwing a hamburger on a hotdog bun and telling people this is my version of a hotdog. FFS ‍ This place is gross and the employees are even worse.

Very impressed by this location. First time here but not my first time having Bucharest. Of course, got the classic and I was surprised at how consistent the chain is. Quick tip: substitute the garlic with hummus to avoid terrible breath if you know you are going to be seeing people :)

Stopped in twice while on the trip to the D....food was ok service was ok. Having individuals who are knowledgeable about ingredients such as non dairy products would be beneficial to those who are vegetarian. The show stopper was Carrots With a Twist. As individuals ordered their meal they transitioned right to the dessert table. Otherwise happy customer, will return again for the falafel shawarma!

The falafel is AMAZING!!! Had it 2 days in a row. Just can't believe how that customer was allowed to speak to employee from around the plastic shield with no mask while the employee remained mask-less. These young people need to take this pandemic more seriously. The restaurant was very busy, so they are making money hand over fist. No reason to wait in on people without masks

Hmm... I'll rate this experience 2 stars and all of that is because the food is delicious. The wait is very long here even when you pick up a call in order. I was given a 45 minute time for the order. I arrived at the 35 minute mark because I'm punctual like that. After waiting about 10 minutes in a line to get to the counter, I was able to pay for my order. I moved to the side to wait with a large number of other people. That's when I began to worry because it was a lot of people there. I'll fast forward this story. My overall wait was an hour and 15 minutes! If I had not already paid, I would have stormed out (did I mention there was a raging thunderstorm outside?). Anyway...a few people did complain to the manager about the long wait, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears and not matter in the whole scheme of things. Alas, I will not return to this location. I will continue going to the downtown locations. Oh well... Did I mention the long wait?

This is Bucharest and it definitely has its own style. But their shawarma is good you get tons of grilled chicken, and the Bucharest shawarma comes with fries on it. So these sandwiches are no joke very filling and tasty. Ok if you want a huge order of some strong garlic get the side order at $4 and you can feed 13 people, wow. This location doesn't get the love like the other Bucharests but I was happy with the food and the service going 3 stars today but they are a little better and deserve 3 1/2.

This location of Bucharest Grill is as solid as the other locations and the closest to the suburbs. I've ordered a few times from this shop and the service has been solid and the food amazing. Of course the shawarmas are amazing and loaded to the brim with some of the most tasty chicken in Detroit, but just about everything on Bucharest's menu is amazing. My wife and I regularly order the large chicken salad which comes with more chicken than lettuce! It also comes with green pepper, onion, tomatoes and pita chips. The dressing is pretty addictive. You might want to ask for extra. The curly fries are pretty tasty too. I don't know what spices they use at Bucharest, but they hands-down beat the traditional shawarma shops in Dearborn. I want some right now! Bucharest doesn't appear to have their own parking lot, so its metered street parking for take out orders. I haven't had a problem finding parking during the dinner rush and was able to run in and out without throwing money in the meter.

First time ordering at this location during COVID but have gotten food from the Jefferson location which also routinely messes up orders (adds cheese when order said no cheese, added cheese when menu doesn't list cheese as ingredient) Tonight's delivery - hummus that was paid for wasn't included, no dressing for either salad, no pita, soggy fries I am a glutton for disappointment giving this place multiple chances. Don't waste your time contacting them, they don't care about customer service

Super fast, super delicious! At my last visit, my shawarma wrap was up before I had even finished signing the credit card receipt. We often get a chicken shawarma salad to split and end up with leftovers for the next day. (Be a Sally and keep the dressing on the side so the crunchy pita chips don't turn to mush.) Downside? Staff seemed annoyed that they had to call my number twice - service isn't all that friendly. And last I was there, a few signs announced that they're ending delivery. This does mean the end of the awkward work-pants with "We Deliver" on the buttocks, but reduces convenience.

This Shwarma is so good. We just moved here from NC and I've never had anything like this. I've been losing out my entire life smh. This is an 8 minute walk from my house so I'm in trouble send help.

I placed a order was told it would be 15 mins , 30 mins... later it was realized that they misplaced the order... the money was refunded in cash, but why not the interest from using my credit card, what about the hour took out my check from being let to work trying to reconcile, after trying to do business.... This customer is not satisfied!

First time at this Bucharest Grill. Been to the one downtown. This is like the fast carry-out version. More for younger crowd the ambiance is pretty loud. Good to place a call ahead order and pick up for all ages. Dine-in is nice. Very clean. Don't be scared it's in Detroit. Some suburbanites might be. But really the whole Livernois strip between outer drive and eight mile is all redone. It's like a mini ferndale. Very nice clean little stores. Nice area. Bucharest is a great addition to the strip. Food was great. The $4.50 is huge. You can split between two people.

Best chicken shawarmas in the city of Detroit hands down! Size, tastes, and price is unmatched! Best bang for your buck! Same taste at all the locations. And yes I've been to all the locations! Lol

Bucharest is known for their jam packed schwarmas overstuffed with marinated chicken, veggies and garlic spread. I come here often and usually enjoy my eats, but sometimes my palate tells me the food is far too salty.... not sure if the inconsistencies are with me or the kitchen.

My wife and I love coming here. The food is always perfectly flavored, never to dry or mushy.

This location will mess up your order every time and act like it is somehow your fault. If they forget to deliver something that was in your order they will also refuse to refund you for that item. Very rude workers and poor customer service
