I usually love getting a shawarma here, but I don’t think I’ll be back after trying the lamb today. There was so much rubbery cartilage that I threw out the sandwich after 4 bites. I don’t want to be rude but frankly it was disgusting! What a waste of food and money!

If you ever wondered what an amazing sandwich like shawarma tasted like, don't go here. Sandwich was beyond mid, had weird ingredients, was dry, not enough, garlic, etc. What sucks about this place is it's American Arab food but done horribly. At least chipotle or taco bell is American food mocking Mexican but it tastes good. Service was nice but that's it, place is cheeks.

I had a solid experience at Bucharest Grill in Royal Oak — the food here is very good and full of flavor. I especially enjoyed their sandwiches and shawarma, which are tasty and satisfying without being over-priced. The staff was friendly and did a good job with service, which made the visit pleasant. I also liked the relaxed, casual atmosphere; it’s a nice place for a quick lunch or dinner stop. There’s a lot of menu variety, and you can tell they take pride in the recipes and quality of the food. Overall, I’m happy to give this place a positive review and would recommend it if you’re in the mood for Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern style wraps and sandwiches.

The quesadilla is always soggy instead of crispy as it’s intended to be due to the cooks placing a freshly hot steaming of the grill on top of the other quesadilla creating moisture & ruins the crisp! I’ve asked can they be separated and always given a hard time when it’s comes to spending my money! The customer service where is extremely poor ‘ treat it like a sport ready to be combative with customers when all we w at is our good made right since WE pay. I would give a -10 for customer service poor attitudes & passing phones to one another as if it’s a tit for tat match….leads to feeling uncomfortable placing an order bc who knows what will happen to your food next! THE ROYAL OAK LOCATION IS TERRIBLE AS WELL & for what I see most of your locations won’t last, money isn’t everything, actually care about how you treat people, who your hire & the quality of your food!

The customer service is definitely lacking and attention to detail I asked for no pita chips on my salad it was loaded with pita chips and very little chicken. Also there was no dressing in the bag good thing I checked before leaving because this is the second time they've got my order wrong or left something out. Last visit I paid for extra garlic only to get home and it was sour cream (I had drive all the way back). The staff is more concerned with being on their phones than focusing on customer service. I will give this location a break especially after reading the recent reviews this seems to be one of many outgoing issues at this location!

A good cozy spot, Wraps are delicious, good for a quick bite

Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Meat was juicy and fries were crispy. The quality mirrors that of the locations in downtown Detroit. Pickup was easy and Covid friendly. Also, I ordered during lunch time and they were busy but they worked quickly with great quality. Highly recommend for amazing food and cheap prices!

I wanted to give this a good rating because I like the Detroit location. It looked good when it arrived. I expected a hot gyro schwarma and got a cold falafel gyro with cold fries. DO NOT eat here. Go to the Detroit location instead.

I really can't say enough about this place. Very lovely ladies at the casheir, always beautiful smile. Very welcoming. Food top notch. Cooks work in prefections, very fast and spotless, unlike anywhere else these days. I eat out most of the time. This place is my favorite in every angel (hospitality,quality, freshnes and cleaness). Very afordable). Thank you guys

They Have Delicious Shawarma's! But if you're a Detroit Native, you know that already lol I suggest calling your order in so that you can just walk in, pick it up and walk out lol

Quick sit, eat, go. Perfect for lunch. I prefer the high tables. Order at the counter and they bring your food out. The food is very flavorful and good portion sizes for your money's worth.

Bucharest is known for their oversized shawarmas, and as the name would imply, it's not your traditional middle eastern joint, but more a fusion, like the Bucharest shawarma which is stuffed with fries. Wraps a tad on the salty side. Fast casual setup.

The food has been awesome everytime! I just wish wearing hair nets was a requirement!!!!!!!

Ordered via DoorDash, food came quick. My coworkers order from this place at least once a week so I had high hopes, only for them to be crushed the moment I took my first bite. The Chicken Shawarma is advertised as having grilled marinated chicken, tomato, lettuce, pickles, mayo, garlic spread all wrapped up a pita. My disappointment comes with the filling of my wrap, there were 2 tiny strips of pickle, one piece of tomato, and maybe a tablespoon of garlic sauce (if that), and no mayo to my taste. What's worse than being skimped on the veggies is the fact that they were replaced with more chicken! I had to remove at least half off it just to stomach my wrap, but by that point the meal lost all of its appeal. Do better! People need vegetables (and more garlic sauce)!

This review is just a follow up of a previous review. I have been to this location before. It's in a strip mall with several other stores and food places. The service was good everyone was friendly, since this is an express location you have a lot of people who call in order. This is the closest location to Southfield. Like all the locations the food is always good and my must stop when I go back to Michigan.

Came here around 4pm and it wasnt busy, however it took 30min to get 3 shawarma and fries because almost every employee was on their phones. Lamb shawarma was very greasy and fatty and hard to chew. Everything else was pretty good. Would not recommend if you are in a hurry and I wouldn't get the lamb again.

Went in with a mindset that I will enjoy the food and I left feeling the same way. I had always heard how good the food is and I was very pleased. Nice environment and quick service at a very good price.

I placed my order and asked several times to make sure there was no pickles. She double checked and assured me there would be none. I waited for quite a while although there were only 2 other people waiting. My number was 196 and when I noticed, they were in 202! No apology, no urgency to correct it or anything. When they have it to me I had to remind them the 2 extra garlic sauces I paid for was not in the bag. No apology then either. I looked on my sandwich and it had -pickles on the outside. I get home and start eating and was was all over my sandwich? PICKLES! I usually love their food but clearly this location needs so work. I won't be back. I didn't give 1 star only because the salad was good.

Mary had a little not-so-lamb... whose fat congealed all over my salad but seriously, I want my $6.50 back for really awful "lamb." This is the fattiest and honestly most terrible lamb I've ever had-- reason being this meat doesn't taste like lamb at all. It tastes like beef with a spritz of lamb essence. But the lettuce is fresh and has a nice crisp to it onions too! I just have to rinse them off. One star because the food is edible. Two stars because the veggies are nice. Service was generic, nothing special. Ambiance rustic. Will I be back... mehhh...

This is my favorite chicken shawarma salad! The portion is great. It lasts for two meals. It is flavorful and filling. The location is very convenient! It is open late on the weekends! It's also super quick and you can order online!

The salads are great and they give you a big plenty of food I mean a lot of it .. you can take it home and eat it for later. The only negative is the area they are located.. it's in a shopping mall not a lot of parking spaces. The service was great had to wait because they were really busy

I want to love Bucharest! The food is pretty good. But it absolutely destroys me and my stomach afterward. Like for that reason alone I can not go back just beware!

Believe all of the 1-star reviews. It's a real thing. This place is garbage. They have more 1-stars than any other number. I watched my order get boxed up (it wasn't sitting around on their side ledge). Then I drove 7 minutes home. Everything in the box was barely room temperature. Point being... they put a bunch of crap food that was sitting around into the box that I pad $14 for. I've worked in enough restaurants to know that this was just some lazy S&*t. When I called to complain the girl on the phone told me that the "Bucharest wrap comes cold". Are you kidding me? It did come cold but noooooooo ma'am it's not supposed to be. What a joke. She told me to hold for the manager. The manager NEVER came to the phone. Save your money. Don't ignore the reviews on this place. Total garbage!!!

The food is good, but the service in this location is not. I will only do online pick up where my food is ready when I get there so I will not have to deal with the unfriendly staff. Also, the "leadership" is no better.

I have been to the Detroit Bucharest locations before, a long time ago, and I was craving shawarma on my ride home from Portage today, so I stopped here for takeout. The good: -You get a lot for your money - I got the chicken shawarma, no lettuce, for $6.99, and I'm almost done eating it, as I write this review, and it's a lot of food. -They are FAST - this is kind of good and bad. I called the store when I had about 18 minutes left in my drive, and they said it would be ready in 5 minutes. I asked them to hold my order for 10 minutes (i.e., don't put in the order for an extra 10 minutes) because of that. -Additionally, when I showed up to the store, they were also fast in retrieving my order. -The sandwich itself is very good although their chicken is more charbroiled than I prefer. Lots of garlic. Could use more pickles. The meh: -The person on the phone was very brusque. When I arrived there were a LOT of cooks / counter people so maybe that's why (I'm sure they are busy). Overall I'd stop here again although Mr. Kabob is still my favorite in the area. I also used to really like Bucharest's curly fries - I didn't get fries this time but they are very good.

When ordering online they add a 10% tip automatically. There is a lot of garlic sauce.

AFter hearing so much about Bucharest and it's super fantastic shwarma's I stopped in to purchase a carryout, on Saturday 12/07/2024 at 6:17pm order number 369964 I purchased a lamb shwarma. I got home unwrapped the foil got a drink and settled in to watch a good movie. This was the WORSE shwarma that I've ever had. The meat WAS unlike any lamb that I've ever had (I don't even think it was meat) it was salty and stringy and the texture was unpalatable, it was disgusting. I think they tried to use the onions and sauce to disguise the taste but that made it even worse. Like I said I have heard and read many favorable reviews about Bucharest grills and I hope my experiance was a fluke but I won't be going back. BTW I removed the onions and tried to feed the (so called) lamb meat to my dogs and they are like Micky in the old commercial they'll eat just about anything but they sniffed and backed away.

It's hugely popular since it's right by Beaumont. It's a counter to order from and that's about it. There is a counter on the back wall while you wait. Total was $25.87. The salad wasn't that big, meat was so-so, not dry and not moist. Seasoning was also just okay. The hummus and chicken was also just decent.

Small, counter-service shop with an expansive menu focused on Mediterranean street food. With the chicken shawarma, which we got, you get a pita fully stuffed with grilled marinated chicken , lettuce , tomato, pickle, mayo, and garlic spread - very filling for just $7. Very tasty and inexpensive! They also have beef, lamb, falafel, and vegetable options, too as well as salads, and appetizers such as Hummus. To find this location of Bucharest Grill Express, look across from the market next door to First Watch.

Terrible experience. This location in particular has horrendous customer service. Folks on the phone are unprofessional and not courteous at all. Even worse in person. They gave our order away to someone else. Totally understand it happens sometimes, but they were unapologetic and didn't do anything to try and make it right. This is the third time something has gotten messed up in the very few times we order from here. Only good Bucharest is the one in Detroit. This place is a joke.

Your customers should be greeted when they enter....not AFTER they approach the counter. The young lady was on her phone AND had earbuds IN! A smile wouldn't hurt either. That is literally the WORST! The 1st item we ordered was totally missed by her because OF THE PHONE & EARBUDS!! Why in the world this behavior is allowed is absurd. The food is USUALLY good....the Nikki salad was ordered with extra chicken....received hardly any cabbage & MOSTLY chicken.....TERRIBLE. Probably not coming back & will probably run my mouth every chance I get.

The chicken shawarma is absolutely packed with chicken and tons of garlic sauce, my favorite! I also really loved the grape leaves. So much flavor and a great portion on everything. The staff was phenomenal and really welcoming, they were super helpful with suggestions because it was my moms first time in this restaurant. Will absolutely Be back!!

Ordered thru app. Paid in full. Received notification order ready to be picked up Southfield location. Go to store. CLOSED!!! And it was before the Super Bowl started and website says open until 8pm. Missed half the superbowl scrambling for food. I guess all the poor reviews are correct on this place. How can they say my order is ready for pick up when they are closed?

I've visited this location twice recently in order to pick up a DoorDash order that I put in for myself. I will absolutely not be returning. I wasn't greeted by a single worker on my first visit. No one even looked up at me. I had picked up an online order for myself previously over by the carryout section, so I headed there. Again, no one acknowledged me. Not a "hello", not a "how can we help you", nothing. The carryout worker had airpods in and didn't even look up at me, while both cashiers were texting/facetiming. Eventually after I interrupt a facetime call, they tell me that it's at the "online order" section. The supposed manager grabs my food from behind the counter with a snarky comment about "online orders here" added. Just a thought here, if you have an "online order" section, maybe put a sign. Put ANYTHING to direct people. Same experience the second time. It was a little busier this time, so maybe that's the issue? Nope, cashiers both texting. No acknowledgement while walking in. No communication. Snarky comment from the manager AGAIN. Dude, I can't fetch my food from behind the counter on my own. You have zero signage about online orders. Just treat the customer like a human being and get off of your phones. I used to enjoy the food here, but I'll defer to the Detroit location. A hint for the cooks/chefs/etc, you slice chicken against the grain. Every single time I have ordered at this location it's sliced with the grain and rubbery. NEVER again.

While I'm Detroit we stopped by Bucharest on Tuesday. It was so good I had hubby redo on Wednesday!! I'm home back in Maryland now and could easily go back and get another!! Flavorful and filling!

We've ordered from Bucharest Grill a couple times now. I don't remember what I had last time, but I remember it being good. Today, I got the Trish's salad. OMG, it's so good! Tons of meat and feta on top of vegetables (no lettuce, though). It's fresh and tasty, and quite the value. We have added this into our rotation of places to get lunch.

Salads are underrated, inexpensive and clutch, chicken isn't marinated like it used to be but I hear it is still good, falafel is my current go to

Let's just say this is the most convenient Bucharest to go to. The flavors are good has always. The chicken was tender and juicy which is very important and makes the shawarma all the better. The regular fries are just that - regular. Think I from now on I will stick with the curly fries. My son had the lamb shawarma and he was under impressed he was glad he got the beef as well.

Against my better judgement...I ordered from this place again. BUT...this will be the absolute last time because they NEVER get my order right!! I ordered a large chicken shawarma salad and asked that the chicken and the pita chips be put in separate containers from the salad/on the side. However...when my order was delivered...the chicken was on the salad and the pita chips were no where to be found!! When I called the store to let them know...the young lady that I spoke with was VERY RUDE. She told me that my order was "sent out the way that I requested". When I asked to speak with a manager...she hung up on me!! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY NEVER GET THE DELIVERY ORDERS RIGHT! My request was printed on the ticket and all they have to do is READ it and follow the instructions!!

Horrible customer service. Order a Steak, Chicken box and stuffed pepper. We waited 20 minutes and I asked if our food was ready. The restaurant stated they were waiting on the stuffed pepper. I waited 10 more minutes and they hadn't even started it. Store manager said he would give 50% off next time.....don't worry there won't be a next time.

Simply the best shawarma ever. So fresh and tasty. The garlic sauce is perfect. Great flavor without being too overpowering. Ordered delivery through door dash for lunch to my office, and it came super fast even during the busy lunch hour. The hummus is also great. And amazing prices you can't beat for this delicious and high quality of food.

Meh. the last thing that kept me coming back for more, was their thick, potatoey, amazing fries. They got rid of them!!!!! They changed their straight fries to those crappy coated floury bready ones. I absolutely hate them. Honestly, this food is so easy to make at home. At home i can choose organic chicken, use as much organic lettuce, tomato, fresh garlic sauce etc. as I want. At home, I won't have to worry about getting attitude if i ask for a modifications such as extra pickles. I had been going there for years due to the convenience and those amazing fries which are gone now. Without those fries, I won't be back here again.

Schwarma was loaded and full of flavor, it was one of the better schwarma we've had in a long time.

I ordered curly fries and lamb shawarma. All the food was correct, all the correct flavors were present. That said, the seasoning was shaped and felt like pine needles. The grease and oil was dripping everywhere. I had to wash my hands twice. My stomach was very upset and I'm extremely bloated today. Will not be recommending this location.

Why are simple carry out orders always missing something or sloppily prepared? 3 orders in a row missing items. Luckily I checked my order before leaving. Young staff not properly supervised. Too much socializing and idle time that could be spent on quality control like making sure orders are correct!!! Food is good but the inconsistency is going to be a major problem if not corrected!! Chicken bites were missing ranch dressing and looked nothing like picture on menu. So sloppy!!! Maybe 3 times is trying to tell me something???? Please get it together!!!

Wayyyy to much smoky flavor on the chicken, all you could taste was smoke on the whole sandwich like it was a lump of coal. My first time trying this place

Very disappointed! Ordered delivery thru Grubhub. Missing the Chicken Shwarma sandwich and no pita bread with the garlic sauce. I did get the fatoush salad I ordered but I had to cut it the vegetables as they were huge pieces of cucumber , tomato and onion. I couldn't eat the garlic sauce as I had nothing to eat with it! It was not Grubhub's fault, as the large (mostly empty) bag was stapled tightly shut with the itemized bill attached. They simply didn't put everything ordered in the bag, although I was charged. Guess I'm cutting my carbs

I was looking for some good chicken shawarma and found this place. It was absolutely amazing. Came with a HUGE portion of fries. My friend got the same too and also thought it was phenomenal. 10/10 will be coming back!
