Buchser Middle School

I never went this school, but my wife did and now my oldest son is. I helped enroll him to this school and I have attended the back to school/open house night. I met with his teachers and they seem decent. My son hasn't complained about any of his teachers or any students. So far, he likes it. Base on what my wife tells me about this school and what my kid is telling me, they deserve this 4 star rating. My son still needs to finish this year and will have two more years after. Maybe my rating will change, who knows. I guess this will just be a to be continued.

Worse school they never cared about social anxietys and Feeling safe but 1 of my pe teachers was the BEST She would let me do the work after everyone left best teacher God bless her

Ive never gone there but because of the ratings I guess its good but then also there's some really bad comments there's not many though so I guess I really don't know. I'm a third grader by the way.

I'm an 8 grader no more, now I'm graduated from two days ago on May 31, 2022 never forget that day, I will miss Buchser Middle School from the pass 3 years I was here in the beginning of 6 grade to 8 grade that's well done, yesterday was my last day in Buchser I tear up that day I had a terrible stomachache, my friend and I yelled "GOODBYE BUCHSER" I want to say thank you Buchser Middle I work extremely hard was really a quiet 15 years old girl!!!

it's super amazing and the teachers are also amazing! best school ever ! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the staff is super nice and friendly and they even got a web team which helps 6th graders out

This is where I went to Middle School. I was the first 6th grade class so I never got to be at the top of my elementary school. Middle school is a weird time, but I got through it and went off to High school then college. This is a big campus and has some pretty good features as far as middle schools around the country go. If I were raising my kids in Santa Clara and elected to put them in public school then I'd be proud to have them go here.

Am a 6th grader. So far it's been good. Now am almost done with the school year am happy for a summer break

Great school. Caring, equity conscious staff. Dedicated teachers. Wish I could send all my friends kids here as well as my own.

I'm giving this school two stars, because at least they tried. negatives (when I went there in 1993-1996): awful principal, who was allowed to run the school for way too long, and allowed poor teachers to continue to stay and be apathetic or mean to students. she no longer works there though. Ill-advised mainstreaming of developmentally disabled kids. teachers who were waiting to retire, showed rated R movies, teachers who were arrested for drugs, child porn. safety standards sorely lacking, especially for bullied kids. kids smoked pot in class, went off campus during PE, beat up the developmentally disabled kids. relatively strong racial tension. positives: very easy to ditch class. I walked off of campus regularly during school hours and never felt I would be caught or stopped. If I decided to stay home for the day, I would just delete the recorded message asking my parents to call to explain my absence. When Beverly Hills Cop III was being filmed at Great America, they tapped Buchser for extras, I got to get out of school and ride roller coasters and eat junk food all day. there were some truly devoted teachers there, and I'm sorry they had to put up with our crap. If I had been restricted by financial circumstances to continue in public school, I would have probably dropped out and just skipped high school for community college. Luckily, my dad's a lawyer, so I went to private school.

Worst school experience I've ever had. High school and Elementary were much more pleasant than the 3 years of hell I spent at Buchser. Half the teachers were eligible to live in a Looney Toons town, while majority of the kids were under the influence everyday at school. Talk about a great education, right? Not. It's not just when I was there either... some of my family members have graduated from buchser recently, all complaining about the same problems (and more). Bottom Line: Don't enroll your kids in this school, even if it's right across the street.

I went here like 30 years ago. It's was great. I remembered all the great memories. I loved the schools layout and teachers. The good old days..

I had a 6 th grade History Teacher by the name of Mike or "Mr.O" ( I won't share his whole name ). I hated his classes with a passion . Mr.O would make his students do push-ups in class for various reasons ex: the whole class would be talking ( may have not been you but guess what ? Your doing 50 push ups for Mr. O . I was a over weight child and found that doing push ups in front of my peers was the most humiliating thing ever . I know we all do physical activities in p.e but this is you solo doing push-ups in front of a everyone . I told my parents and of course we went to the principle and nothing was done . I laugh about the situation now bc I'm a healthy " average size " 28 yr but let me tell you if I ever see Mr. O again I'd let him know he helped damage a overweight child's self esteem and that's not what being a teacher is about at all

I am sad that people reviewed this school when they happened to attend almost 20 years ago. While this school has its challenges with kids who are less fortunate than a lot of us, I think they do a fantastic job! The administration and faculty are dedicated to giving opportunity to EVERY student. Children come to school with some heavy baggage; not to mention that middle school years are tough to begin for most kids. There are programs to support and counsel kids with issues at home, with problems with friends or just general stresses. They have an AVID program to support kids who could be the first of their family to go to college. The faculty is bright. They love these kids. My daughter has had, for the most part, excellent teachers. Her Math and Science experiences were outstanding. Her PE classes where terrific. I would recommend this school to anyone.

Today was my first day. Sure I started in the middle of the school year but they gave me tons of homework. My Math teacher Ms.Amina is kinda nice but it was my first day at the school and she gave me 4 worksheets to complete by tomorrow and I still have tons of other homework. Plus she gave me the worksheets like I knew what to do already. She didn't even ask me if I needed help on anything she just handed me the papers and said to complete it by tomorrow.

Maybe many years ago this was not a great school, but it is now. My kid loves it, the teachers are great, and they take an active stance against bullying. There are new, remodeled buildings, and a new fence around the school so that it's safer.

There are many dedicated teachers here. The music dept. is great. 6th graders are kept away from the older kids while they assimilate. Kyle Eaton was not the most effective principal. I'm glad he's gone. The academic test scored did go up though. The new principal, Monica Stoffel should do a better job. There is bullying on campus. It was not nipped early enough. The feeling of community of the staff is missing. The individual grade teams seem to work well together. Students are challenging. The addition of the County portables adds some risk with challenging students. Of 3 schools this is the lowest. They try....

I have seen a kid being dragged out of class by his underwear, when trying to apply my child. Then I saw kids stupid enough to smoke grass instead of weed, I mean how stupid are these kids from not knowing what weed is, I know my child smokes weed and he can tell grass apart from weed. Then I saw teachers walk in and out of classrooms during class time, their excuse was to get a snack break. Later I decided to just take a walk around the "Townsend Field", and I SAW USED CONDOMS EVERYWHERE. I think there must be tons of babies everywhere, kids aren't responsible enough to get kids. They should get better staff, I was happy I didn't apply my child here. I give them one star just for trying.

Buchser is a terrible school. My mom pulled me and my sister out the same week we got enrolled. The office staff is very unhelpful. I tried to ask a question but got told that they didn't have time for my "stupid" question. The office also prohibits students from waiting for a ride inside the safety of the school.The only way to stay after school inside is to pay $30 every month to be in the after school program, where as the school I am now going to has free after school program. They rather students wait outside on the curb, and once as my sister and I were waiting for our ride, a red car with angel wing stickers on the back window parked near us and followed us through the school - there is a street that runs THROUGH the school, making it very unsafe. Some teachers have also been fired for sexual assult towards students and invasion of privacy towards students. The school is also very messy; the school bathrooms have leaking faucets and flickering lights with broken doors, turning a place to wash up into a horror movie scene :( Also, the cost for lunch is very high, even though their food is flavorless and not well cooked. The school is also low on money and is unable to afford good stuff and improving the school. If you want your child to have a fun school experience, be warned that you should avoid Buchser.

i really love this school the teachers are really good( atleast the one i have) the ony thing i don't like about this school is PE ihate running but i think the school is awesom
