I had the redfish with mango salsa, and it was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. For dessert, the Cinnabon cheesecake was the perfect sweet finish. Service was excellent from start to finish. The bartender went above and beyond — great conversation, very attentive, and made me feel warm and welcome. The food came out quickly, and everything looked as good as it tasted. Overall, this place delivers on both food and hospitality. I’ll definitely be coming back anytime I’m in Dallas. Highly recommend!

Saturday Brunch at Bucket and Rope Bucket and Rope is the perfect spot for a Saturday brunch. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every dish came out just right and felt crafted with care. The service made the experience unforgettable. Victor Hugo and Maria were outstanding—attentive, professional, and so welcoming. They anticipated our needs, offered great suggestions, and made sure everything flowed seamlessly. Between the incredible food and the exceptional service, Bucket and Rope is a brunch experience worth repeating. Thanks to Victor Hugo and Maria, it was a five-star Saturday all around!

Been meaning to try this place since it opened, and am so glad I finally stopped by. I visited on a Thursday for lunch with my husband and a friend; and we probably ordered way too much, but we were hungry and wanted to try a variety of things. Before I get into the food, I want to give a shoutout to Vincent, who waited on us. He was a total rockstar at managing the lunch rush, and had a great attitude. There was one other FOH staff who was helping him out, and she was very nice as well, but Vincent was working so hard! The chef came out to us at obne point too, to check on how we liked everything. The employees were all great and provided stellar service. We started with the Duck Taquitos and Bacon & Brie Quesadillas. The taquitos were awesome, perfectly crispy with well-balanced and pronounced flavors. Super satisfying to eat. The quesadillas weren't my favorite, just because I don't think the mild flavor of brie is super compelling in a quesadilla. My husband and friend thought they were ok, but needed more bacon. I ordered the Fish Tacos and the Beet & Cucumber Salad; both were fabulous! My only issue with the tacos was that I think there was too much slaw/salad topping on them and made them hard to eat. I'd get them again, but ask for the slaw on the side so I can just add as much as I want, and eat the rest as a sort of side salad. The chips it came with were homemade and delicious. My husband got the Ham & Cheese Melt and loved it--I didn't try it but the fries it came with were superb. Our friend got the BLT and he was really happy with it as well. We didn't order any alcoholic drinks, but I did look at the menu and the happy hour menu and think the prices are extremely reasonable for the location and quality. I plan on going back for happy hour for sure; the large patio is very inviting and is a great way to make the most of the space.

SO FIRE. We had the grilled lambchop lollipops and n’awlins barbecue shrimp for appetizers and holy moly. I usually stay away from lamb because it’s too gamey for me but chef Zoe changed my life with these lambchops. Not at all gamey and so tender and soft. The sauce on it was AMAZING. The barbecue shrimps were so saucy and massive, and I loved the baguette on it so I could use it as a spoon to pick up all the sauce on the plate. Then for mains, we left it up to chef Zoe to make her favorites on the menu and she did not disappoint. She made a vodka pasta with filet mignon and the blackened Texas redfish. I kid you not this was the best steak I’ve had in my entire life, and I’ve had many steaks. It literally melted in my mouth. The redfish was so juicy and fell apart when I used my fork, and when combined with the risotto, you had the perfect bite. The risotto was so flavorful and creamy too. Everything we ate here was off the charts, like unbelievably good I’m still shook and thinking about the food. Matthew, our bartender was extremely friendly and attentive and made us delicious drinks such as a paper plane, old fashioned, and his own shot creation that tasted like a lemon chocolate cake. The drinks were so tasty and paired well with our dinner. His service was on point, so definitely sit at the bar to get the best experience possible! In all, I would 10000% recommend this restaurant to anybody who hasn’t tried it yet. The restaurant is so pretty, but their patio is so spacious and beautiful, it’d be a great place to hang out for the upcoming football season. I would give this place 11/10 stars if I could. Can’t wait to be back soon, I can’t stop thinking about the food. Thank you again to Matthew and chef Zoe, I wish them and this restaurant all the success.

Stumbled in for lunch after checking out Dallas farmers market. great to see a new restaurants in this area. The service is top 10 for we've ever had in Dallas. The waiter was attentive throughout, and the team helped each other out with all tables. Food was absolutely phenomenal. Tried their daily soup, clearly was made fresh. Their chorizo hash was one of the best you can find. Wish they sold their salsa. -- that good. Prices are extremely reasonable. Will be back. One of the best options if you're in the area.

Small boutique cafe close to the Farmers Market. Dishes are presented well as a chef takes time to do it perfect. This was my second trip the previous was brunch. Both times we were treated excellent by the wait staff, and the service had the right amount of attention to our needs. I didn't take photos of each dish but my daughter and I shared the red fish the kitchen put it on two plates. The desert menu is a spoken one and we choose the coconut cream pie. Awesome!

I absolutely love this restaurant in the Dallas Farmers Market - if I could give it 10 stars, I would! The service was outstanding, and the staff were so kind and helpful. The chef even came out to our table to chat with us and surprised us with a round of drinks! The food was absolutely delicious, and I’ll definitely be coming back for the BBQ shrimp. I also bought a paper flower plant from Rubial’s next door, and the staff made sure it had its own seat at the table which was such a fun touch! I loved learning that the restaurant and Rubial’s share the same owner. Such a welcoming experience from start to finish!

Excellent food in a relaxing environment. We happened to stumble on this restaurant while walking downtown. The food was delicious and well presented. Definitely worth repeating for us. The outdoor area offers spacious seating and has great views of the surrounding historic buildings.

Yelp
The redfish and risotto were divine. Fabulous bread with some of the best pesto I have ever had. Professional, prompt and friendly service. We love this place and recommend it highly!

Yelp
This is a ten star review. This first and only visit ranks among my top ten dinners ever (esp when adjusted for cost). Everything was perfect. EVERYTHING. I want one in my home town right now, but until then, I'll stop here for every subsequent Dallas trip.

Yelp
Started off with duck taquitos and rope in a bucket. The taquitos were good but not a must-do while the Calamari was tough to chew. The entrees were much better. The wagyu pot roast was tender while the reddish was flavored well and tender too. I was apprehensive about the risotto based on some pictures I saw, but this was tasty and properly cooked. I'd come back here; slow on a Monday night and parking lot to boot.

Yelp
My partner picked me up from the airport and we called around for a trendy new restaurant. This place has awesome reviews and dishes look good. No waiting time. Maria was our server - she is great. We ordered the beet arugula cucumber salad, lamb chops and duck confit pasta. They are delicious and perfect! The lamb is top notched. Zero smells. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. The manager Matthew came to check on us. The set up is nice but not fancy. Highly recommend. The picotito were strong but needed a splash of grapefruit or pineapple juice. We will be back! Thank you for a great dining experience. It is located near the Farmers market.

Yelp
Living in the area, as soon as I heard this place had opened I knew my husband and I had to plan a visit. We went for lunch today and upon sitting down, we were given bread with the best pesto (must order a pesto dish next time) Our server was kind and attentive. I asked for a recommendation based off 3 dishes that sounds good and eventually decided on the Ahi Tuna app. It was fresh and flavorful! The tostadas werent greasy in the least bit so I'm counting this as a healthy lunch choice! My husband got the burger which smelled great. The only thing left between the two of us was some French fries. Also want to note the decor and vibe is definitely a step up from the previous bar that was in this place. They kept the original beautiful features of the place but added in some nice touches and cleaned it up

Yelp
Amazing service! Amazing owners and staff!! There was an active emergency situation and the owner welcomed everyone into the building for safety! This business deserved an award.

Yelp
Amazing food and service!- Maria was incredible and totally a joy as she gave us recommendations and great service. Victors food was excellent and he was very personable. Loved the bread and pesto, the pot roast and the red fish with risotto

Yelp
The food & service was excellent! Vincent our server was very professional & friendly! We had the Texas breeze cocktail we had the pitcher $25! Great price. The cocktail was refreshing! I had the Ruby grilled cheese. I normally don't order grilled cheese. Grilled cheese with grilled caramelized onions, applewood bacon & homemade BBQ sauce, havarti smoked Gouda cheese! All the ingredients were perfect! We will be back! Patio area was very nice too!

Yelp
We had a fabulous experience at Bucket & Rope tonight. We had the duck taquitos appetizer and the Cobb salad to share as a table for 2. The salad was served with fresh warm bread and basil pesto. Everything was fresh and delicious. My husband ordered the steak frites and I had the buzzed chicken. Both entrees were great but the steak was a clear winner with a delicious peppercorn sauce, crispy fries and melt in your mouth filet of beef. It also came with a side of broccolini. We had wine and cocktails with our food and then ordered dessert and coffee. The coffee was some of the best I've ever had and accompanied our desserts perfectly. I had coconut cream pie and my husband had the Oreo cheesecake. Superb. The ambiance at this place is so laid back and friendly, one may feel they're in an episode of Cheers! We never felt rushed and lingered over our dinner for 2 hours. Our server was super friendly and she and the manager, Matthew, learning it was my birthday celebration, brought over a complimentary shot of delicious tequila which we enthusiastically enjoyed together! We highly recommend you try this place as soon as possible...especially for a special occasion.

Yelp
This is a true gem near the Dallas Farmers Market. The menu has some can't miss items like the calamari and duck taquitos from the appetizer menu. And the brick chicken entree is great comfort food on a cool night. Service is fantastic with an experienced staff who know how to make your experience enjoyable. Another great detail is that they have a big, secure parking lot - rare for a downtown restaurant.

Yelp
During everything that happened today, with all the parents and athletes having to leave NCA in a hurry, you stood there with your doors open doing everything possible to make sure we were all safe, had water what ever we needed. Thank you!! As a parent you made my kid feel safe until I could get to her.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Everything was on point, from the drinks, to the food, to the service. It's casual enough to go on a Thursday night and watch football(which is what we did), but still has the atmosphere to be a great date night. The lamb lollipops were my favorite, but my salmon main course was also very good! We will be back.

Yelp
Victor has done it again, while taking over a great space. Food is amazing and service is just as good. Can not wait to come back and try more.

Yelp
What a great find without breaking the bank! Just great food and vibes. Bonus that they have a parking lot which is so rare to find downtown.

Yelp
Went to dinner for my wife's birthday tonight and had a wonderful meal. Great service and fantastic food. Loved the lambchops and duck pasta. My wife had the blackened redfish which was fabulous. My favorite restaurant after one visit.

Deborah O.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious food and service! The Huevos Rancheros was to die for. Green chili was some of the best I've had. Edit: green chili dish was the hash as the waiter gave us each the others dish!! Both dishes are excellent.

James M.

Yelp
Great food here and very friendly staff and owner. Highly recommend the redfish. The lambchop appetizer, burger and Caesar salad are excellent. Nice ambience and unusual for downtown, its own parking lot. Try this place. You won't be sorry. Also small but good wine list.

Rachel S.

Yelp
I've been here twice and always get the most attentive service. The food is great and it's so nice to have just some solid meals close by to my home. I love the brick interior and the plants that they incorporate throughout their restaurant. It gives such a cozy vibe. Personal recommendations: the duck taquitos and calamari for apps, the steak frites or the brick chicken for dinner. Not sure about dessert because I'm always too full!

Yelp
Came here on their second night. I always liked the building and came here when it was Green Door. Was sad when they closed but boy oh boy this new spot is the tits! Food was amazing at great prices! Great cocktail program too! All the staff were so nice and service was top notch! The head chef is a real one and knows his stuff!!! Exclamation points!!!!!!!! Come check it out and tell Victor "G'day, mate!"

Kimberly B.

Yelp
Perfection as always. Cozy , welcoming and sophisticated. The staff is exceptional as is Victor Hugo's food. I had the Waygu pot roast. The meat was more than butter tender. My boyfriend had the redfish and if it had been socially polite probably would have licked the plate. We started out with this brisketball appetizer which I cannot stress how delicious they were. Do yourself and those you love a favor and hurry to this new dynamic restaurant

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
This place is good! Service was Great! Food is priced well and kitchen has no problems changing a dish up to your liking. They have been only open a short time. Hopefully it will only get better. Great patio!

Kimberly W.

Yelp
First time to come to this new restaurant. Loved it! The staff and the owner were so kind and generous. We had a blast celebrating a dear friend's birthday. The owner heard that I loved cabbage and brought me a special serving of his spicy coleslaw. Delicious! Excellent food, ambience and service.

Apryl C.

Yelp
Wonderful venue, great food and service! Lambchop appetizers were amazing!! Great ambiance'! Pot roast and grits highly recommended!!

Amy L.

Yelp
We had a fantastic dinner and the service was awesome. The calamari was some of the best I have had and the red fish was amazing.

Ray B.

Yelp
The food here is great. I have had the Mike's Burger and the Brunch. Both were fantastic. Can't wait to go back and try other items. Very neat interior with brick walls, large bar and outdoor dining. Located by Farmer's Market.

T M.

Yelp
This place is great! The food, the drinks, the staff, the owner. I did love the previous restaurant/bar that was there. But now that it's Bucket and Rope. It's even better and a million times cleaner. A great date spot and watering hole with friends.

Zoe S.

Yelp
Excellent service, Excellent food, and beautiful ambiance. Beautiful patio and there's a parking lot! Which is hard to find downtown. I got the lamb chops and I was blown away, and I don't even like lamb normally. Will definitely become a regular here.
