Restaurants Serving Afternoon Tea

"Found within ten acres of lush Worcestershire countryside, Buckland Manor is a majestic setting dating back to the 13th Century. Plush armchairs and oil portraits adorn the low-ceilinged, wood-panelled space, while parasol-covered tables are dotted through the expansive grounds during warmer weather. The tea range is timeless, featuring finger sandwiches, warm scones and fancies." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team

My husband and I spent two nights at Buckland Manor. The grounds are beautiful and the building has charm, but the furnishings seemed worn and the staff were not particularly friendly. Our meals at the restaurant were fine. Importantly, there is no air conditioning and it was very hot in our guest room. I would avoid staying here in the summer months.

We went for afternoon tea as a birthday present for one of our party. The place had been recommended, and I can see why. It was all lovely. Great service and very accommodating. There was a couple of food requirements, and they sent out what had been requested. Food was absolutely delicious and a lovely selection of teas available. Would definitely recommend this place.

On a Wayfaring Walk we stopped at Buckland Manor. The exterior of the hotel was inviting and we had a light lunch in the elegant dining room. The mushroom soup was outstanding as well as the salmon/dill sandwiches. The Manor does offer evening dining which I am sure would be excellent!

Had a great Sunday Lunch here with 3 generations of family - menu was the perfect mix of traditional and modern - something to keep everyone happy, and the dining room and service made it feel special. Would definitely recommend for anyone that wants a special meal out, and the gardens and surrounding area made it into a great destination to explore.

This was our third visit to Buckland Manor, each being even more enjoyable than the previous ones. The house is magnificent, the garden beautiful and the staff helpful and friendly. Not a place of wild nightlife, rather peace and calm and countryside views, and the walks on the nearby paths and fields were memorable, leaving us wishing we'd had more time. We especially appreciated how all the staff made us feel like we were visiting friends at their countryside home, not a hotel at all.

What a beautiful peaceful setting to this unique hotel. The staff were super helpful, looking after us as soon as we arrived. Our room was stunning with a vaulted ceiling and a super comfy bed and view of the local church. Breakfast was great too. We didn’t eat at the restaurant for dinner as we were at a wedding. Over all a wonderful stay.

An old fashioned country house hotel with surprisingly good food.||Decent size room. We were there just after new year. Plastic tree in our room.|No turn down service. Small bottles of complimentary water. ||Plastic Christmas trees in the common areas and a rather off putting noisy air vented fireplace.||Staff trying their best but a bit over stretched and some slightly heavy handed service - others charming. ||Pleasant dining room and surprisingly good food. While this hotel in the chain never seems to have had Michelin aspirations it’s really rather good.||A surprisingly good gin martini|No sommelier and a smaller wine list ||Practicalities|Good parking |No turn down service|Small bottled waters ||Not enough hot water for two baths!!

Once again, Buckland Manor provided us with a first class experience of service, accommodations, grounds, and cuisine. Our breakfast on the garden terrace was perfectly delivered for a wonderful wake up. Following a cocktails walk in the lovely gardens, dinner was superb. The icing on the cake were the divine shortbreads for which we requested the recipe and received it at checkout! We enjoyed the proximity to the villages of the Cotswolds, and had a stretch day to Stratford-upon-Avon. The morning Cotswolds Way walks were a special treat, as well. Thank you Buckland Manor.

Yelp
Tucked away right before the main Broadway strip, Buckland is a gorgeous manor. We didn't stay at the manor but went for afternoon tea. The lobby lounge area was very quaint and cozy for tea. We sat on some cushy couches to enjoy. The tea selections were plentiful and several options for the tea food as well. The service was also on point. The food was just ok - one of the finger sandwiches was dry around the edges, so it had clearly been pre-cut and sitting out. The fruit scone was also extremely dry, burnt, crumbled at the touch. Surprising and unfortunate. One of the sweet options on the top rack was stuck to the plate so it exploded as we tried to placate it and we didn't really get to eat it. Food was 3 stars at best but the ambiance was key. To note - there was a 10% service charge auto-added to our bill and parking is free.

Yelp
We've stayed at Buckland a few times over the years and it was charming. Our latest experience was less than optimal. The bell people were either too small or frail to help us bring our bags up the stairs. There is not a lift. The rooms need refreshing -badly. Everything including the service seemed "tired" - not quaint or charming. The bar service was inconsistent. Sometimes, the drinks were phenomenal and other times they were subpar. The dining experience was lackluster and the food was average. The chef and staff have changed since our last experiences and it shows in every detail. Would seriously reconsider staying here. What a shame, it had such charm and vibrancy that it is now lacking.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for our 40 th wedding trip. We were here for 4 days before we left on a cruise. The rooms are gorgeous, the meals are wonderful. My husband discovered oatmeal for breakfast served with a splash of scotch. We returned a few years ago with friends for lunch and were treated like long lost friends. The gardens are beautiful, the place is so relaxing.I cannot say enough about it. It is just what you really want when you visit England. We can't wait to return.
