I chanced upon this newly opened vegan vietnamese restaurant last week, and am compelled to write this review not only for its delicious food, but because I was simply blown away by the hospitality of the owner, Stacy and her staff.
There are few times when your dining experience transcends to something bigger, a glimpse into a culture, a personal connect, a story, and a memory. That's how I will recollect my first visit to Buddha Chay. From the moment I walked in, I felt like a truly valued guest, and saw the highest standards of Asian hospitality. Stacy and her staff went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant dining experience. They were warm, friendly and engaging. The restaurant was brimming to its capacity with a large party of 35 people celebrating, and yet the food, delivery and attention to detail was exceptional.
Now onto the food. Let me just say, it was lip-smacking delicious. As a vegan, I was thrilled to see such a wide variety of plant-based options on the menu. I was recommended to try the cassava fries, which were bursting with flavor and perfectly crispy. Then, onto the oyster mushrooms - you must try this small dish for its simplicity and flavor. It was wondrous, and with lots of umami. I then tried the Banh Mi, which was fragrant, fresh and packed with flavor. Finally, Stacy brought me the three-color desert to try, with the loveliest backstory of nostalgia associated with this dish, for kids in the Vietnamese Summer. The presentation of the food was also beautiful, and it was clear that the chefs took great care in creating each dish. Stacy told me their food is made in cold pressed, 100% flaxseed oil, which is a big plus as its healthy and rich in Omega-3. ( I haven't taken great photos but you can check out other reviews :))
Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and memorable dining experience. The hospitality was top-notch, and the food was outstanding. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu items!
