"One of the best vegan restaurants in town, Do Chay’s Vietnamese dishes, like cast-iron seared coconut rice cakes, fried tofu and tempeh lettuce wraps, and hefty black garlic-braised eggplant could make even the most zealous meathead happy. There's lots of natural light and hanging plants to create a breezy jungle atmosphere and the service is always thoughtful and friendly. Cocktails like the lime leaf collins are light and refreshing and pair perfectly with the food, but if you're not drinking, get the zero-proof turmeric spritz. Do Chay is best for lunch, especially because you don’t need a reservation like you will at dinner." - Amber Gibson

Chanced upon this newly opened Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver. Friendly and attentive service, lovely veg food and nice ambience. I tried the rice noodle with vegetarian BBQ chicken, brought back memories of the taste of cuisine in Ho Chi Minh, very authentic indeed. 👍

Nice ambiance and friendly but poor service. They kept forgetting our order and we had to ask multiple times for multiple things. Food spans all spice spectrum but is a bit light on spices. It is more catered to ex-meat eaters turned vegan so has a bbqish in some dishes. May come again for chicken noodles and spicy gyoza. Vege wraps - good. Had a nice Thai peanutty profile. Chicken noodles - these were the best. With veg spring rolls mixed in. Spicy gyoza - these were good too. Not spicy but had a good texture and taste. Veg noodle soup - this was good but was really subtle on flavors. Really wish they’d doubled the spices and cooking intensity. Veg fried rice - did not like these. Too sticky and flavorless. Vegan bbq banhmi - tasted too meatish. Also very light on spices. But was ok.

The food and drinks at this Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant are delicious. The staff are welcoming and take good care. The food is colorful and appetizing, the taste is good, mellow, and the ingredients are of good quality. I like it very much. The atmosphere of the restaurant is well decorated. There is a corner to take photos. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I finally found my favourite vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver. Everything I tried was flavourful and on point. I love the ambiance, the owner was also very welcoming. Such a nice spot to go out for lunch with friends. The portion was pretty big too. I can’t wait to come back again to try other dishes.

Server is attentive to details. Food is amazing. We like the glass dumplings that were wrapped in leaves and has a trace of the flavour. Spicy soup taste fresh and all the ingredients are well cooked with its own flavours. Highly recommend this place.

We are a Buddhist group from San Jose. We travelled to Vancouver for 4 days and were recommended to come over this restaurant. The first time we came, the restaurant was crowded, so we had to take out. Package was organized for 30 people and food was super yummy. Then we decided to come back for dine in experience. We were impressed by decorations and high end food. Will come back to restaurant for sure if ai have a chance to travel to Vancouver.

I chanced upon this newly opened vegan vietnamese restaurant last week, and am compelled to write this review not only for its delicious food, but because I was simply blown away by the hospitality of the owner, Stacy and her staff. There are few times when your dining experience transcends to something bigger, a glimpse into a culture, a personal connect, a story, and a memory. That's how I will recollect my first visit to Buddha Chay. From the moment I walked in, I felt like a truly valued guest, and saw the highest standards of Asian hospitality. Stacy and her staff went above and beyond to ensure I had a pleasant dining experience. They were warm, friendly and engaging. The restaurant was brimming to its capacity with a large party of 35 people celebrating, and yet the food, delivery and attention to detail was exceptional. Now onto the food. Let me just say, it was lip-smacking delicious. As a vegan, I was thrilled to see such a wide variety of plant-based options on the menu. I was recommended to try the cassava fries, which were bursting with flavor and perfectly crispy. Then, onto the oyster mushrooms - you must try this small dish for its simplicity and flavor. It was wondrous, and with lots of umami. I then tried the Banh Mi, which was fragrant, fresh and packed with flavor. Finally, Stacy brought me the three-color desert to try, with the loveliest backstory of nostalgia associated with this dish, for kids in the Vietnamese Summer. The presentation of the food was also beautiful, and it was clear that the chefs took great care in creating each dish. Stacy told me their food is made in cold pressed, 100% flaxseed oil, which is a big plus as its healthy and rich in Omega-3. ( I haven't taken great photos but you can check out other reviews :)) Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and memorable dining experience. The hospitality was top-notch, and the food was outstanding. I can't wait to come back and try more of the menu items!

Such a delicious new Vietnamese vegetarian restaurant. We ordered bun bo hue spicy vegetarian soup, special noodle wrap banh hoi thit nuong, vegan chicken BBQ banh mi, banh bot loc ( tapioca dumplings), Vietnamese ice coffee and the yoyo cheesecake. All great. Next time we will try the Vietnamese curry and the coconut Vietnamese coffee. My fave was definately the banh bot loc. Super recommend. 😜 Beautiful ambiance, the music was relaxing and they have beautiful chandeliers
