Buddy's Burger

A warm greeting then a burger that's steaming when you bite into it, this place had warm atmosphere. The chair are not so friendly on the thighs but still comfortable. We got a amigo burger which had pepper jack cheese, tortilla strips which were surprisingly crunchy in the burger still, the pico de gallo comes in a lil container on the side which is nice. The seasoned fries are yummy and cripsyyy🔥 overall this is definitely a place to come and get a good burger. I do recommend asking for their hand squeezed lemonade a mix between mango and strawberry one😩

First time in. My high school students have been telling me this place is great, and by golly, they are RIGHT! GREAT HOT BURGER AND FRIES. Nice vibe, great service. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Working in town, first time in at Buddy’s. Great Burger and Fries, had the Dbl Classic and it was fresh and great flavor. Like that they have beer and margaritas also. Tried In n Out to see if it lived up to all the Hype and was not impressed at all honestly. Buddy's by far is supreme with better flavor.

I’m from Dallas and this was my first time at Buddy’s. It was absolutely amazing. The food was so delectable. Lola (the cashier) was also very helpful and informative. Her customer service was impeccable. I will definitely stop here every time I visit from here on out!!

Very clean, staff was very polite. Now the food!! I could taste how fresh the burger was, yummy sauce, perfect blend of seasonings and really fresh veggies. The fries were so good too. They are soft on the inside with a perfect crunch. The only complaint would be a little bit bigger portion of fries. Mango lemonade was phenomenal!!! Overall I highly recommend this place!!!!

This was one of the best burgers I've ever had! It smelt like a home cooked meal and was not disappointed. This is my new favorite burger joint! Now y'all doing milk shakes???? How can one be blessed with this much flavor town energy?? Gordan Ramsey come visit and give these people a star because you won't find anything raw or lacking flavor here! Forget favorite burger chain y'all are my favorite restaurant hands down now!

The food is fantastic! We've been to three buddy locations, and the food is consistently good. However, this location needs to clean better. There is built up crust on the soda machine ice lever, old goo between the soda machine and tea urn, and crusty paper napkin dispenser. None of this is recent dirty - it's aged filth. Really hope they can read this and give the place a deeper cleaning

Tasty burgers paired with perfectly seasoned fries. Service is friendly and fast. Awesome vibe with TVs for watching sports while you eat.

Stopped by on my way to Austin. The double classic is ! Great seasoning! The season fries are too much but not bad. The burger is crazy good!

Casual place for some yummy burgers and shakes! I get the spicy burger with season fries. That's my go to. The fries are super crispy which I love. Burger is very flavorful. Solid place for quick lunch or dinner. They also have some limited items time to time like today they had biscoff shake and special burger. Taking a star off because the restrooms were in bad shape and poorly kept but it was also a busy friday night.

Right off of I-35 heading toward Lockhart, I stopped in with my kids. We weren't terribly hungry, but I really wanted a taste. It's a very simple menu - single or double, regular or spicy...and beer on tap. Almost all the tables are Biergarten style so if they're busy, be ready to share a table. The burgers tasted good. They didn't blow my mind, but they weren't skimping on meat and the fries were seasoned a bit strong maybe; next time I'll temper the seasoning with some ketchup. We had milkshakes to go. Again, good, but not mind blowing. I thought the prices were reasonable for the amount and quality of the food. I hope they fix the men's restroom; the urinal was out of service. All in all, I hope they expand down to San Antonio so I can go more often.

Original smash burger was pretty tasty and really enjoyed it. Their sauce seemed familiar but couldn't pinpoint where the similarity stemmed from. While Ienjoyed the burger and it was yum, the buns seemed cold which was odd and a striking contrast to the hot patty. The fries were good and well seasoned but the only issue I had was that a few of the fries at the bottom were still frozen, like these were at the top when they were frying them and didn't get fried all the way . Definitely want to try them again as the experience wasn't that bad and I i did enjoy their burger and fries.

Solid burger choice. Their limited menu helps to focus all their attention on the burgers and fries. While their single is filling, go all out and get the double. The spicy option has a lot of flavor and not too much kick. Try the limited time Nutella shake, you won't regret it.

Overall 4.5 rating. Stopped in here for the first one, Sunday, for lunch. I immediately noticed the Double Spicy burger in the menu. Anything with jalapenos will grab my attention quickly lol. The beef was super tender and seasoned well. The melted cheese and jalapeños was such a great mesh, so almost ordered a 2nd one to go. They had plenty of searing and baby high chairs to use. My 1 year old was super excited to eat his regular side of fries. The staff were friendly and came to the table several times to check if I needed anything. It was a pleasant atmosphere and not like your typical fast food place that feels rushed and crowded. I enjoyed my time here and will return again.

Went at night in drive through which was pretty long but were quick. I had the classic burger with seasoned fries, the person at window taking order for 6 people was nice and polite. Burger was really good! Would definitely go there again. We did not go in so only 4 stars.

There are four straightforward options for burgers at Buddy's--do you want your burger mild or spicy, and do you want one paddy or two? Personally, I swear by the #2--The Spicy Burger (single paddy). For spice lovers, this is actually far from spicy, but packed with flavor. The Spicy Burger comes with pepper jack cheese, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, jalapeños, and Buddy's signature spicy smack sauce. I absolutely love how the grilled, minced onions & jalapeños are married together and are melted in with the sauce and cheese. Every bite bursts with vibrant flavor. And the best part? All this deliciousness comes at less than $5! To make it a meal, only $15, WHAT A STEAL. TLDR; Buddy's not only a culinary delight but also a budget-friendly option that doesn't compromise on quality. 5/5 make the drive, you'll thank me later. LOCATION: I personally enjoy the San Marcos better, as it's a stand alone location with ample parking, more spacing, quieter, and cleaner!

I asked for mayonnaise. They said they would give me a mayonnaise packet, asked for everything on it barely gave me any lettuce which you're kind of going down to McDonald's kind of level.

Buddy's burger is the best!! I was told Jax burgers fries and shake was the bees knees when it comes to burgers here in San Marcos, but Buddy's is way better. The bun is softer, the burgers are more flavorful, and the restaurant is clean. I'd highly recommend coming here to try the burgers, fries, and shake. Order the double patty all the way + fries. you won't regret it!

Buddy's Burger, so I hear it is an Austin classic burger place which since expanded to San Marcos. Located right off IH-35, it made it real convenient for me on my from Austin to San Antonio and craving a burger with some season fries why not stop here! Visited around lunch time on a Wednesday, the place wasn't packed and the ambiance here is nice modern bright red interior and classic burger restaurant approach. I was immediately greeted upon entering and the cashier was ready to take my order. I ordered the Classic with Cheese Combo (however I should've went with the double) with a Pepsi and seasoned fries all for about $13 with tax. My food came out prepared quickly and I picked it up and took my seat. A bite into this juicy flavorful burger and I can see why Buddy's is a great classic burger spot, filled with cheese and special sauce made it all worthwhile! The fries were seasoned perfectly and had a nice crisp and spiced just right! Did not try the shake however I heard it is pretty good here. An employee walked by to ask if everything was ok in which I enjoy the fact that they like to take care of their customers. Overall, great prices, flavorful burgers and good crispy seasoned fries, I'll be sure to drop by Buddy's for a burger when I am in the area!

This place is so good! My husband and I saw Buddy's while driving to the Tanger Outlets, and we knew we wanted to stop by on the way back home. We're so glad we did, Everything we ordered was so fresh and made to order - the burgers were juicy and flavorful and the seasoned fries were nice and crispy! My daughters also loved the milkshakes- although the Oreo shake had more of a speculoos/biscoff cookie flavor than the original Oreo flavor...(definitely has a spice/cinnamon taste) We definitely want to come back!

This is the best burger joint in San Marcos! They have awesome smash burgers . I got the double meat, double cheeseburger with regular fries and a chocolate shake and it hit the spot. That chocolate shake is to die for. I gained all the weight I lost in one month in one setting. The staff are friendly and the restaurant was very clean. This was our first visit here, and we will definitely be back. Highly recommended..

New to San Marcos, in recent months, they also have a location in Austin. Fresh ingredients and very clean eating area, efficient and friendly employees. Their shakes are super creamy and flavorful. A shake is the best dessert after a burger. Seasoned fries are bussing. Did I mention that strawberry shake, though? My burger was cooked just right, and lettuce was nice and crisp with nice slices of tomatoes and pickles that were crisp and not soggy. Onions were offered raw or cooked, and I chose raw. Buns are soft and fresh.

If you like smash burgers Buddy's is the place to go. I'm also a huge fan of the lemonade and milkshakes. The machine is always working! The service from the time you arrive until you leave is exceptional. The food is made to order so you will have to wait a bit but it's worth every second. If you like a thick juicy burger I'd get a double. Smash burgers are thin and messy so don't hesitate to sit and dig in. Some of the reviews complain about a messy burger but that's my favorite kind! Overall I'd come back and it was good to know they can customize my burger to my liking.

Needed a quick lunch while running errands and remembered they opened Buddy's and we wanted to try it. There were no cars so we were able to get through quickly. The cashier was nice and friendly. The food was fresh and hot! We will be back.

If you're looking for a really good burger in San Marcos, you have to try buddys! The food is fresh and straightforward. I love their fries with the seasoning and they have really good hand spun milkshakes too. The service is quick and fast in the ambience is what you would expect from a fast food restaurant but it's clean and there's more than enough space in there.

Took over the old fazolis building in SM. Great location in San Marcos, and very welcoming employees. Super clean in dining room and restrooms. Really cold in the dining room but better than stale AC. Ordered 3 meals and an additional burger. Was about 45 bucks. Very attentive employees. Seasoned fries were really good. Burgers were well above average. Will try spicy burger next time. Meant to take a pic of the burger but was too excited. Strawberry lemon day and mango lemonade were good but could have possibly used more strawberry flavor.

I got the double classic with cheese meal. The food was very good and fresh. The service we received was amazing! We were treated so well by all the staff, especially the manager, Kody. We make it out to Buddy's as often as we can.

Where do I start? This was my first time coming to Buddy's. I ordered a spicy burger with fries, it was FANTASTIC. Elizabeth was at the counter was very sweet and helpful. The manager, Cody came around a couple of times to check on us and make sure everything was to our satisfaction. We were so impressed and enjoyed the fresh food. Buddy's will be added to our regular rotation! It's a MUST TRY, you'll love it! Oh and don't forget to grab some shakes!!

The burger was good definitely need seasoning on the burger. The seasoned fries a so bad, they had a bitter taste to them. I feel for the price they are charging the food should be on point but it's very mid.

I had the #2 spicy but no cheese I really enjoyed it! Honestly the burger was really good and even better if spicy for me. I didn't enjoy the 'original' lemonade, it was off. I wish I could've got my money's back but I was a bit far. But after-all it's a burger joint so yea

My thoughts: The burgers here taste great! Thin, fresh patty that you can double up and a Texas style bun. Fries are extra crunchy and the plain ones are good but you can kick it up a notch with seasoned fries. They have a variety of shakes, including special ones during the holiday. 12 year old review: mint shake was delicious!!
